I got the beet salad and spinach salad. I was craving a good salad with different ingredients because I just don't have the patience to make salads Anyway, I didn't get a photo of the beet salad but all of the ingredients combined so well together. It comes with spinach , sweet potato, and beets which are not overwhelming at all. It came with a side dressing that I believe is homemade and it really pulled it all together. The freshest, most delicious salad in Berkeley. Try the beet salad and the kale salad - you will not be disappointed . The carrots, beets, sweet potato, and greens are perfect! We live in the Tri-Valley, but my wife and I had to run a few errands in the City. On our way back we both felt like a salad so after a quick Yelp! search we found "Califas Greens." We got there as they were opening and were warmly greeted by the owner and a staff member. We both ordered the Beet Salad. It arrived and after the first bite we both stayed silent until we were half-way done. It was the best Beet salad we both ever had and we love our Beet salads. We complimented the owner who began telling us her story of opening (and surviving) during the Pandemic and how all of their ingredients are fresh/ homemade - we could tell. If you're looking for something healthy and delicious look no farther than this place! I was in the area working and really didn't want to choose another junk food place. I also didn't want another boring Caesar salad. When I saw the pictures of the beet salad on yelp I knew I had to try it. I ended up getting the beet salad bowl and a warm bowl with steak added. I loved the combination of cilantro, warm mushrooms, rice mixing with the creaminess of the goat cheese and steak. I could have eaten two of these! Warm pork bowl is to die for. Pork is super tender and the sauces that come with it are executed perfectly. The veggies on the side are actually really tender and yummy. I'm slightly confused as to why this spot is so highly rated. I wonder if I just chose the wrong items. I feel bad to give such a low rating as the spot is clean and cute and the women are so very kind and nice. I was soooo disappointed in the veggie toast. It says it comes with avocado but its just a smear of guac. One of my biggest pet peeves about avocado toast is calling guacamole avocado. Just say what it is, I wouldn't have ordered this dish if I knew it wasn't actual sliced avocado. Another issue were the really expensive prices. I would expect for almost $11 actual sliced avocado and for the veg to be piked on AND for organic ingredients. Please forgive me if I missed something but I don't think anything I ate or drank was organic. On that same note, super expensive $9 juice with non organic ingredients. Unless I missed something, about quality of ingredients, I think this is overpriced. With tax and tip almost $25! I am not sure I would return when there are other options in the area with organic healthy offerings. If I did return it would only be to support women of colour owned business, not the veggie toast. read more

I ate the vegan enchiladas and they were so good! I would really recommend the food! The staff was very friendly I let them know I was vegan and they were very transparent about the ingredients in my food even had a space away from any meat products to make my food. Being vegan and going to a non-vegan only place can be scary but, the staff was very nice about it and made me feel so comfortable. I will be back for sure! read more

The food is amazing, fresh and healthy! Tried the steak bowl and the chicken sandwich with fries so far. I would repeat the sandwich without the pickled onions and a little more chipotle sauce. Good fresh bread. Fries were rarely perfect. The bowl was to die for with a great combo of deliciously grilled steak slices, veggies and quinoa/rice plus a side of guacamole and a really good dressing chimichurri style. I hadn't been back to this place since it was under a different ownership and known as La Capilla. I needed to go to the public library and thought I'd check it out. I told them how much I missed the burrito made of kale and portobello mushrooms and they said they had something similar but with basmati rice and chipotle sauce. I thought why not give it a try! When the charge was over $16 for the burrito I thought it must be good. As I ate through it and waited to find some substantial piece of kale or mushroom I was sorely disappointed. Just a lot of beans and rice with chipotle sauce and a few pieces of thinly sliced (hopefully not canned) mushrooms and scraps of kale. I called to tell them and they said thank you I'll let them know. The only burrito that comes close to that price is the prawn burrito at Monte Cristo, but it is also packed with prawns. Even the carne asada burritos are under $13! I was ready to give a huge thumbs up for this place owned by two sisters but sadly that is not what I can do. Very disappointed... read more
