Always a banger at yelp events, I came by to see if it was the real deal outside. I am a taco guy and haven't tried their other offerings so take this review is focused primarily on that. That being said their taco Tuesday is a great place to get acquainted with their flavors and I recommend their shrimp and fish tacos. I like going to this location. The staff is always really nice and it's very clean. They always make the food fresh. I usually get the fish and chips with sweet potato fries. My kiddos don't like seafood, but they like the fish and chips here. It's always hot and crispy. The sweet potato fries are perfectly crispy with the soft sweet potato center. They are always consistently delicious and, so far, no one has had any complaints about it. My go-to is the Shrimp & Avocado Caesar Salad (no dressing). While it comes with a lot of shrimp, they don't give many avocado pieces. The shrimp is always packed full of flavor and cooked perfectly. Been coming here for years always has been great but I guess it's gone down hill! I Tried California Fresh Grill today and the salad was a letdown. The lettuce didn't look fresh, it was kind of limp, a little translucent, and some pieces even had that slight pink/brown edge like it's been sitting too long. It definitely wasn't crisp or "fresh chopped" the way you'd expect for a restaurant that has "FRESH" in their name. For $16, that's not okay. The toppings were fine, but when the base of the salad looks like that, it throws everything off. Shrimp were SALTY and they forgot to put the avocado it should come with. If you're going to charge that much, the greens should be actually fresh, bright, crunchy, and just cut. This felt like it had been prepped way ahead of time and left sitting. In the concrete jungle of other fast food establishments, CFG offers the best value with a generous portion of food. There's a lot of fish and other seafood items to choose from.
