DO NOT PURCHASE "AS IS" FROM THIS DEALER!!! "Gino" sells lemons and has zero integrity. I bought a Ford F-150 from him and two weeks later it broke down and needed a new engine. At time of purchase, I asked if he made any repairs to it and he said he replaced the timing chain guide but otherwise was in "perfect condition" and would be a "great truck". When it broke down and I called him, he ended up admitting he had also replaced one of the cam phasers before selling it and that the engine light was on when he bought it at auction. Long story short, it's been four months and the truck is still at Ford being diagnosed because there are so many things wrong with it. I owned it for two short weeks and it has cost me thousands of dollars and will probably have to be sold for parts. The salesman tried to impress me with how they had the car's engine detailed. Once I lifted the beauty cover it was still filthy. There was never an air filter change nor a coolant change, there was signs of oil in the coolant. The headlights had to be replaced because of an obvious accident they never disclosed. I had to patch the tire due to a nail. I replaced the PCV valve because the amount of dirt and oil in the throttle for never changing air filter. The license plate had the evidence to prove they had front end damage. Be careful of their gimmicky attitude especially when they start talking to each other in a foreign language. I'm a smog tech so I am able to make all the repairs and was able to improve from 21mpg to 34mpg and the car was and still is in decent shape. It's been over 30 days since I traded my car in for one of theirs and they still haven't changed ownership on the title, DMV requires you to do this within 10 days. read more

I find it rather odd that all the positive reviews here are a perfect 5 stars. No 4 or even 3 star reviews. This makes me question the authenticity of these reviews. I purchased a 2003 Ford Focus from California Imports over a year ago. At the time I was pretty eager to buy a car and the Focus was decently priced. I heavily regret buying my car from "Gino" at California Imports. I am convinced that they either never had a mechanic inspect the car or they simply don't care about informing you of the cars' issues. As soon as I got home from the dealership, I noticed that one of the front headlights didn't work. I also noticed the car making a horrific sound that I did not notice during the test drive. Within a week, the check engine light and the abs light turned on. I had to have a brake sensor replaced. This car also has tremendous problems while idling. If I am stopped at a red light for too long, the car will turn off. When my mechanic inspected the car, he told me it needed new spark plugs, new brakes, a new battery, a new engine support system, a parking break repair and more. A few months ago my starter complety failed. And a few weeks ago my brake master cylinder completely failed. Problem after problem after problem. Let it be noted that I've had the cars' oil changed regularly, and I've driven the car less than 8,000 miles in the year and a half since I bought it. I have definitely not over driven this car. I was sold a completely unreliable car at California Imports. I now know that my car was some kind of quick flip that had absolutely nothing repaired (not even the front headlight) before being put up for sale at California Imports. You should avoid buying a car from this untrustworthy dealership. read more

This is an updated review with almost 2 months of purchase. I bought an 05 explorer from Gino with a fair price when driven it went smooth however, it was only when I test drove it. I couldn't finance the car because it was too old but somehow states he does financing on cars on his website as old as mine which is strange. Long story short the AC ("cold as ice") does not have cold air at all AND the rear tire was in the process of falling out if it wasn't for a mechanic that charged me $450! I called for guidance and see if Gino can help me but unfortunately me he gave me attitude on the phone stating "I sell old cars what you do is on you" when all I asked for was information to see what he really sold me. I'd give it 5 stars if they offered warranty for their used cars, but I'm happy and content with my encounter with California Imports. I bought a 1999 Honda Civic hatchback that came in mint condition, unmolested (as far as my somewhat trained eyes can see). Alex helped me out with the whole shenanigans. The only thing I noticed weird about the car was that the hatch supports were both shot and the 3rd gear synchro is on its way out. I found out about the trunk when I got home, as Alex held up the hatch during inspection so I didn't notice it then. Shady? Maybe, but they're trunk shocks that I can replace for little money so no big deal. Alex showed me all the paperwork about the car's history and everything seemed good. I paid good money for a janky car but at least I know I bought a solid car. Registration came in promptly. As for the third gear grind, Alex offered to fix the problem referring me to Reseda Automotive which has a good reputation here on Yelp so I know he was serious. He even gave me time to decide. When we tried to take them to Small Claims Court, we could not sue them because they purposefully do not have anyone to sue as they are a Corporation! The address that you would legally sue them at is a dirt lot on Sherman Way! Their Agent for Service of Process hasn't existed for over 8 years! They are a scam and they know it. Pretty great experience: I saw the car I wanted online, and called ahead for a test drive. When I showed up, the car was all ready and waiting for me. We jumped in the car [a beautiful little '97 Red BMW Z3] and I fell in love with it. The guys were able to work with me on the financing. I went out, put a $500 deposit down, came back the next week with the rest of the down payment, and drove away with the car. That was 3 years ago. Originally I gave this company a 5 star review because they seemed very nice, honest and very professional. They sold me a car for my sister that started overheating one week after I bought it and eventually three weeks after I bought it, the engine needed to be rebuilt or replaced, which was gonna cost more than what I paid for the car. They originally sent me to their mechanic, who kept saying it was something different (and of course charging us) every time we went to him. He charged us a lot of money and the problem kept happening as soon as we left him. I tried calling them to get their help, thinking maybe they'll take it back on trade (at a discount) and let me buy another car from them, or maybe point me in the right direction (Good Mechanic) so that I could get it fixed. I had my sister call and they were EXTREMELY rude to her. They didn't have the decency to call me back after numerous text and voice mails. I would NEVER recommend them to my worst enemy. Below is my original review of their company and the salesman that helped us. I wish I could give them negative 5 stars, but I can't. Not only was my money wasted, but now I have to go buy her another car and figure out what to do with this one.
