I've lived in this area for more than 17 years and it took me probably 8+ before I finally settled in on this nail salon. I'm so glad I found them. First and foremost, what I love about them is how unbelievably nice the woman who work here are. I don't think you'll find a nicer group of nail techs, collectively. They make you feel like a guest and not a business transaction. As for the quality of work, I've never had a bad manicure or pedicure here before. I only come in 1- 4 times a year at the most because I don't have tons of money to spend on stuff like this but when I do I have never regretted it. I don't find their selectional color to be overwhelming which is nice but I find it to be plentiful at the same time. They have plenty of chairs and tables for both hands and feet. They get the job done very quickly and never make you feel rushed. You still leave feeling relaxed and refreshed. It's definitely an art form that I have not seen across the board through nail salons in the area (or even out of the area.) When you walk in they welcome you and they seem generally happy to see you. The quality of their work is great. Admittedly, I only go in for mani/pedi; I don't do gel or acrylics or any fancy stuff so I can't speak for their work other than that but I can speak for their mani/pedi and french tips and they're great If you're looking for a down to earth, friendly place to have your nails done in good quality then I would definitely recommend coming here. Went to get my pedicure, and two children manicures. It's always ok here. I've gotten my pedicures here but they don't do dip so I can't get my nails done here therefore can't give it that many stars. The polish and the way it's applied stays on my KIDS for weeks so I like it. Mine was smudged a little after being under the dryer for 20 minutes so that was a little annoying. Never agian have I went there the nails do not stay on longer than a week and the nails weren't shaped right or shaded right it looks like a quick job they tried to do on my nails. This place is gross. Looks gross & the employees are gross. Just unsanitary. I sat down for no more than 5 minutes before I left. They don't use those plastic bands for the pedicure tubs and the tubs itself are disgusting. I nicely let them know that there was hair and lint in it while it was filling up and the worker said it was hers and proceeded to fill it up..like ok is that suppose to make me feel better. This place was convenient for me - although I live in Boston, I was in Norwood visiting my boyfriend and I definitely needed a fill. I got them done here, with a French Manicure, and they did a good job. I'll definitely be back there again if I get my nails done in Norwood. Ok, mani/pedi BUT they upsold pretty hard on the pedi, when I only had 1 hour. Took 1.75 total and I ran out of time for the gel portion of the manicure which is what I came in for. They then charged $10 additional to REMOVE the old gel, because I ran out of time and now only had time for a regular manicure, so $22 for a regular manicure. Never told in advance. I heard them discussing with other clients as I was finishing. I won't return although services themselves were fine. read more

I picked this place randomly from yelp. Stopped in with my Mom for a pedicure for Mother's Day. The price was just right ($23 - pedi). The staff was very nice and professional. I will def stop back if I'm back in the area. They accept charge cards but cash only tips...fyi. read more

California Nails is a great place to get your nails done. It's not expensive - or too fancy - but the staff is super nice and friendly. I've been going here on and off for a decade since moving to town. I've tried other local nail salons (and there are many) but keep coming back to California Nails because they do a good job and are always cheerful. I visit family in the area and this was recommended to me by my sister in law. They answered the phone at 8am on the morning after Thanksgiving and I was there at 9. Nice big place, clean, very friendly. Most importantly Kim did a fantastic job on my nails. She spent over 20 minutes meticulously working on my messy cuticles, then did a careful and thorough job on a 5 part shellac process. I dont think I've ever had anyone pay so much attention to my nails. Not a fancy spa but I'll work California Nails into all my future visits to the area. read more

California Nails is the only place I go to for manicure/pedicures. I've been a regular for 20 years. They do a great job, the salon is always clean, and the instruments sterile. Prices are comparable to or lower than other salons. The workers are very friendly and know customers by name. A more recent addition is the "spa pedicure" involving hot paraffin wax: it's heavenly! Some time this winter I will splurge on a spa manicure. I can't rate them highly enough. I saw a few negative reviews and must say I've never had a bad experience. When I've made an appointment, I have never had to wait at all. I recommend California Nails highly! read more

Horrible service. Went in for a fill asked that she do half my white black at an angle, didn't listen to my request, when I showed her how I wanted it she disregarded it and said "well just do pink and white" which is not what I wanted. Also the fill was rush and looks bad, you can see under it where it was growing out. If you can't do designs don't say you can (it wasn't even a design btw). Never going back I'll stick to the nail salons in boston. You can see particles of god knows what under the clear polish, got it done yesterday going to Lisa's nails to fix it right now. read more

I received the WORST manicure I've ever gotten in my life here this past Sunday (10/11/15). The woman was friendly, however, rushed through painting my nails that it looks like a 3 year old did it. Needless to say I won't be back there - but I'll be going to another salon to get a color change to fix her poor work. Although they were extremely quick & my nails did look good, they did NOT last... not even a week!! My nails broke VERY easily and the polish chipped after only a few days...with other nail salons right in the area.. I mean, within not even a mile, I would NOT suggest using this nail salon.... after I went there, the next salon who filled my nails basically had to start from scratch as my nails were broken, 2 basically came off...they looked HORRIBLE. He gave me a price for my design $15 and Kim got up yelling...runs over to us and says don't listen to him he doesn't even work here then she proceeds to tell me my design would be $20. California Nails in Norwood is a great place to have your nails done. The staff is friendly and courteous and do a great job. The price is right and the nails done as expected with clean tools. It is good to call ahead, especially if you have a particular person in mind, but I never have to wait long when I walk in. read more

Is it possible to give zero stars? If so, California Nails would most definitely earn zero. This place is the worst. I went and waited 25 minutes to be taken (I was told it will just be a little bit!). Then an employee comes over (turns out I'm not being taken) and says "little bit longer, it's almost your turn." I waited another 35 minutes and went up and asked what was going on. There were only 2 employees working the Saturday before New Years. I got a snooty remark and therefore I asked if I could get a refund for my gift certificate because the service was poor. The employee was so rude and said "can't you read the certificate, no refunds." She wouldn't tell me when the owner would be available to discuss this, saying she is "on vacation for a few weeks." No apology until I was walking out the door. So ridiculous, never going back there! If you want your nails done in a timely fashion, go anywhere but here! read more
