I don't normally leave negative reviews, but this experience was disappointing.... not because of the 50¢ container of peanut sauce, but because of how the situation was handled. I ordered a Thai Chicken Pizza for pickup and specifically requested extra peanut sauce on the side--twice. When I got home, I realized it wasn't in the bag. I called the restaurant, expecting the manager to offer a simple solution. Instead, I was told they could only refund the 50¢ for the missing sauce. The issue was never about the cost. It was about the customer experience. That sauce is a key part of the Thai Chicken Pizza, and I had intentionally ordered extra because I'm on a strict diet and had planned my meal around it. By the time I got home, driving all the way back for a small container of sauce wasn't practical, and a 50¢ refund didn't fix the dinner I had been looking forward to. Great customer service isn't measured by what a mistake costs the restaurant--it's measured by how willing someone is to make it right. A manager has the opportunity to turn an unhappy customer into a loyal one. Unfortunately, this interaction did the opposite. Mistakes happen. This was my first time eating at a California Pizza Kitchen and I was rather shocked at the high quality of food they serve compared to the mediocre image I created in my head. The interior was also well decorated and maintained, and our server was over the top accommodating. Our food came out fresh and hot, and we even scored 2 take-and-bake specialty pizzas for $20 with their latest promotion that allows you to take home a $10 pizza for every entree you purchase. Complimentary bread with olive oil and spices come with your meal as an appetizer, which was great since I ordered the two-in-a-bowl soup with tomato basil bisque and sedona tortilla. I loved dipping the bread in the tomato bisque and our server brought extra tortilla chip strips. I also ordered a half portion of the original BBQ chicken chopped salad, which admittedly was a very large amount, so I would recommend always getting the half size, especially if you plan to eat something else alongside it. The salad was really well dressed and balanced in all its ingredients, plus the chicken on top was delicious as expected given their BBQ sauce is a crowd favorite. I enjoyed a lovely lunch at CPK with my adult daughter today. We chose to sat on the patio which although warm had a nice breeze and blowing through it. We each had a lunch duo. I chose the mushroom pizza and Thai crunch salad. She chose the Mediterranean sandwich and Italian chopped salad. CPK's Thai crunch salad is one of my all time favorite salads. If you haven't tried it, please do! It's absolutely delicious. It pairs perfectly with the mushroom pizza. My daughter really enjoyed her Italian chopped salad but found the Mediterranean sandwich to be much heavier than she wanted / was expecting. Did she eat it? Yes. My wife and I came to this California Pizza Kitchen last night with her brother to grab dinner. It been awhile since I came to this location like over 10 years so I was interested in coming here and using my CPK reward before it expires. I parked at the parking garage near the restaurant and the garage was not busy at all. We got seated quick and our waiter was Dillion. We started off with water and my wife got the Passion Fruit Tea, we also asked for bread. It took him awhile to bring the bread. My wife got the Cedar Plank Salmon, her brother got The Works pizza and I got the lettuce wrapped with chicken and shrimp. We also asked for more bread and Dillion said he'll bring some when they are out from the oven. We saw our waiter go to other tables and also bring them bread but he totally forgot about us. Our food took awhile to come out too and when it did, it was someone else who brought it to our table so I just asked her for more bread which she brought out quickly. We all enjoy our food when it came out, we were just waiting for our water refill but our waiter just never look our way or came to our table to check up on us. I waited and waited but he just never looked our way while helping other table so I just got up and walked up to him at the bar area when he was talking to one of the cooks. I asked for more water and bread along with the check to speed things up. I didn't get positive vibes from the host. As I was walking by I saw an empty booth which I thought perfect no wait. As we entered, we asked for a booth, host told us no booths available. They only have tables available which is fine no big deal. We waited for 5 to 10 minutes, then we got the booth that I saw earlier. I don't know why he made us wait maybe because didn't want to walk and check. Anyways, our server Brady was super nice and helpful. He experienced the menu and new items they had. We had a late lunch here and chose to sit outside. It was a nice shaded outdoor area, however, only one fan was working. We were seated fairly quickly and Rick, our server, took our drink order and shortly after took our food order. There was a little bit of a wait, but it was well worth it. I had the half Thai Crunch Salad, my kids had the BBQ chicken pizza (they ran out of the burnt meat for the burnt BBQ pizza), the BBQ chicken Mac and Cheese, the half Charcuterie Salad, and a half Crispy Chinese Dumpling Salad. We like to come on the weekdays and take advantage of their lunch duo. However, today, my wife and I sat at the bar. Angel was the bartender and our server. My jambalaya was good. Sam Adams was cold and delicious. My wife's Cucumber Reviver drink was delicious. Her salad was not good. Cold potatoes, cold steak and not fresh onions. Now your talking! We only come to this location when Anna is working, she is amazing in everything she does here at the restaurant. My go to plate is the Chicken Piccada. Love the sauce and capers. I went here on July 12 with family. I liked that there were windows to let the sunlight in. For the starter, I had the dynamite shrimp. It was great because of how spicy and crunchy it was. This was our first time at this CPK and we loved it. Parking is easy, the place is large with nice spacing between the tables and it, as most CPKs is very clean. It is also very pretty inside and out. It was a little crowded but we were seated right away and a server was with us in a minute. The menu is the same at most CPKs so we knew what we wanted, having been to so many of them. Or server was great. She got our order right and was very nice. We had a BBQ pizza, which is so good with chicken and a wonderful BBQ sauce on it. We also had a Thai pizza, one of our favorites and this also comes with chicken and a Caesars salad which was great and their chopped Italian salad which we love. All of it was great. We had lemonade which was very tasty. What we really loved was their red velvet cake. We don't usually get dessert but it was so good, we also got one to take home. It lasted less than an hour at home, next time we will get three of them. It is just the best. It is moist and the frosting is not too sweet and it comes with whipped cream. CPK has restaurants in over 15 different countries, and they have one of the best chop salads I've ever had. On this particular occasion, we had the Italian Chop Salad, the Cedar Plank Salmon and the Chicken Piccata. The Salmon comes with white corn & spinach succotash topped with Feta. Everything was very satisfying. Also, they do a nice job of making a martini. While it's not gourmet, CPK always delivers. The food and the service are very reliable, and I like that the menu has a calorie count for every dish. Also, there are no hidden fess added to the bill. You can't go wrong at CPK. read more

I stopped in to eat on a weekday so the restaurant wasn't super busy. The hostess & staff were super friendly. My server was attentive & she made recommendations. I ordered the famous bbq chicken pizza with a Summer cocktail. I have no complaints, everything was delicious. I was even offered warm bread with dipping oil, but be careful that bread is addicting. Also I asked about the rewards program & the waitress assisted me in recovering my password on the cpk app. I was able to earn points for $$$ off future dining with cpk. I am sad to say they no longer offer the artichoke salad on their menu & I hope they bring it back in the near future. Our party of 11 had a late lunch at this CPK in Burbank. Food was delicious and our waitress Denise was great. Thank you Denise! We informed her that two people in our party had peanut and tree nut food allergies. She made sure to have our Mac 'N' Cheese free of any cross contamination in the kitchen. They brought our food out in no longer than 20 minutes. We ordered 4 adult portions of Mac 'N' Cheese, Chicken Piccata, West Coast Burger, New Lettuce Chicken Wrap, Thai Crunch Chicken Salad, Thai BBQ Pizza among other food items. They were all delicious and served with perfect temperature. They were all fresh from the kitchen when delivered to our table. The Chicken Piccata was not as saucy as I thought it would be. It was made just right. The taste was also good and has a little bit of a lemon zest to it. The chicken breasts were all cooked to perfection. We also enjoyed the new Lettuce Wrap with chicken. The sauce paired with it was good. The lettuce was crispy and fresh. The chicken was chopped and seasoned to balance the taste of the ginger soy sauce. We frequent CPK for both lunch and dinner. Placed an online order, walked in the hostess was a little rude but okay I get it. It's busy so whatever didn't take it personal. She just pointed at the "take out" sign. As I'm there the guy asked the name of the order and he said "you haven't paid" which I'm fully aware of. He rings me up and he's FOCUSED on seeing if I'm leaving tips and I don't like leaving card tips I only do cash tips. But once he saw I pressed "zero tips" his attitude got worse, he was literally throwing my utensils in my bag, not placing them in TOSSING it. The bread also was tossed in my bag. My bf got gift cards to this place for Christmas so we reluctantly came back in early January to try them out again for lunch. The day we arrived they were short staffed so it took about 20 minutes to get seated. There were already about 8-10 people waiting. The waiter was nice and was working hard to manage all of the customers. We ordered the pepperoni pizza and salmon plank which comes with corn. Our food arrived at the same time this time, which we appreciated. It was pretty good. Today we used the remaining balance on our gift card and ordered the same food for take out. Our meals were good, thought the salmon seemed a bit over-cooked and dry, it was ok. The pizza was very good. The complimentary bread was also good. The second we walked in, something just felt off. There's this weird stuffy smell in the air, like the whole place has been sitting there collecting dust for years. Our table was wobbly, and everything just had that tired, forgotten energy. We ordered a couple salads and pizzas...both were sad. The pizza wasn't even warm when it came out (how do you mess that up?), and the salads looked cheap, stale and stingy. For the prices they charge, it's ridiculous. It seems to me like their menu was streamlined but there is still a variety of options and ways to customize dishes to make it fit what you're looking for. They're known for pizza and pasta, both of which there is a lot of variety in the menu. Lots of vegetarian options, but more limited for vegan options, without removing a few things. Most dishes have meat as a key feature or cheese, as expected. Not really an issue for me, but just an observation. My table had the Thai Crunch Salad and it was delicious! My friends had a couple different pasta dishes, both of which were delicious. Solid portion sizes and everything tasted great! Our service was great. Friendly and attentive. Our waiter even brought us some extra bread for the table, which was much appreciated. Lots of tables inside and an outdoor patio that is covered.
