On today's work trip I stopped by Sharky's Mexican, and right off the bat, I was impressed. The restaurant was spotless, the service was fantastic, and then I spotted the Wagyu Philly Burrito on the menu. Wagyu beef, sharp white cheese, poblano peppers, caramelized onions, crispy potatoes, au jus, hot sauce... and sesame seeds on the outside of the tortilla? I was all in. On paper, this thing sounded like it couldn't miss. Unfortunately, it just didn't deliver for me. I was expecting the Wagyu to have more of a ground beef crumble--something with a little texture and bite. Instead, the meat was so finely blended that it almost had a mushy consistency, and that threw the whole burrito off for me. The flavors were there, but they never really came together into anything memorable. Also the potatoes had no crunch to them so I think my mouth just wanted texture where as the burrito texture was just mush...It wasn't bad... it just wasn't something I'd find myself craving again. The silver lining? I didn't finish it, so I accidentally saved myself a bunch of calories. Now, the chips and salsa? Absolute fire. And one thing Sharky's definitely doesn't skimp on is portion size--you'll get your money's worth. Overall, I'd absolutely go back because the service and atmosphere were great, but next time I'm ordering something different. read more

I stopped by Sharky's at Empire Center today (March 18th around 12:30pm) with my wife, and I just wanted to take a second to call out how genuinely great the entire experience was. First off, the restaurant was incredibly clean and welcoming. You can feel it the second you walk in, everything just feels dialed in and taken care of. The service, though, is what really stood out. The woman at the register could not have been kinder or more helpful. Super friendly, patient, and just had a great energy about her. She walked us through options, made us feel welcome, and honestly set the tone right from the start. Then the person who brought our food out was just as impressive. Polite, efficient, and checked back in multiple times to make sure we had everything we needed. Even came back to clear things and thank us as we were leaving. That level of attention is rare, even at higher-end restaurants. At one point, I believe the manager also came by to check on us, and I noticed him doing that with other tables too. That kind of leadership shows. And the food absolutely delivered. I had the chicken power plate, and it was honestly better than I remember it being. Super tender, flavorful, not dry at all. The yams and broccoli were both excellent. My wife got the steak nachos, and everything from the meat to the chips tasted fresh and spot on. So I was looking for a hotel to stay at while traveling around LA by train, and I looked at restaurants within walking distance of hotels in many cities around LA and I saw Sharkey's. The pictures looked amazing and the reviews were good! So I found a good hotel at a good price near a train station and this one had Sharky's! Sharky's was the deciding factor! And it did not disappoint. I enjoyed chicken fajita and tofu vegetable tacos on corn with a side of yams and beans. Delicious! I look forward to traveling through here again. read more

Ordered a Santa Fe burrito with ground wagyu beef (limited protein option) and I was left super disappointed as there was hardly any of this meat in the entire burrito. I was totally regretting ordering from Sharky's and I don't see why I would again. Sharky's Santa Fe Burritos come with cheese, guac and pico. But having a pinch of protein in a burrito that is over $16 is culinary robbery. Others in our group ordered a Fiesta burrito and Sharky's burrito and were not impressed. They werent missing as much of the protein like mine but they thought it all to be lacking. Our orders were to-go so we had no recourse for them to make us new ones. Sucks. Lesson learned. It pains me to give a one-star review to a restaurant chain that I love so much. This low rating is for the Burbank location only. I've been eating at their Beverly Hills location for years before they unfortunately closed. I was told the rent was raised too much for them to remain profitable. Regardless of the reason, I miss them. Sharky's makes really good fresh fast casual Mexican food. Nothing tastes frozen or processed because it's not. Super fresh! I've never had a bad meal at Sharky's. Tonight (July 19th around 8:30p) I took two friends to experience Sharky's as they have never been to one of their locations. We walked in and no one greeted or acknowledge us. As we reviewed the menu you could smell the delicious food. There were 3-4 employees all huddled behind the counter talking away amongst themselves, and one person was looking at/on their phone. At least one of them saw us but never once offered any assistance. Missed opportunity. We decided to wait a couple more minutes and see if at some point someone, even if it's just one of them, would acknowledge and assist us. Nothing. Crickets. We left. It is rare that I come to Sharkey's but I do enjoy it everytime! I specifically eas missing their nachos so we came in on a Sunday night and ordered the nachos with chicken and steak. It was delicious, we throughly enjoyed it. The tortilla chips are so good, so lightly yet perfectly fried and the cheese is real cheese, not the plastic kind. All the other ingredients were so fresh as well. Service was fast and courteous. The inside has ample seating, its booths and tabels where you seat your self, it's more fast casual than a restaurant in my opinion. The reason I gave 4 stars is because the nachos came out to be $29.00 when we added protein. As delicious as it is, thats a very steep price especially when it's a $8 uncharge to add steak and I feel like we really had to dig to find any steak or chicken. I will still be back but not often since I cant pay $29.00 for nachos often. read more

Taquitos were mushy inside and too done on the outside. Steak was very fatty and hard to chew, you couldn't cut it with the real knife. Jamba Juice is next door though. read more

We ordered Sharkey's for delivery and it was a pleasant experience. I ordered my husband the steak burrito, steak kids plates for the kids and the Caesar salad for myself. We added the margaritas and sangria which came in beautiful reusable mason jars. I use these jars all the time. I appreciate the quality of the food and we have ordered from here a few times because it tastes good and they use fresh, clean ingredients. read more

Great place to grab a bite to eat! It costs about $50 for a meal of two including drinks. The grilled mahi mahi tacos are delicious. Although, when I order 2 I always get them on 1 plate which makes them harder to eat. They also have a great variety of fountain drinks including unsweetened black and green teas. And there is a sauce bar(?) where you can get limes, green sauce, etc. There is also lots of parking available since they are located at the Empire Center near BevMo. The people here are also always very nice. We are usually greeted when we come in and when we leave. The restroom is always very clean and stocked with everything including soap and paper towels. In addition, they always have music playing, sometimes in Spanish. Plus they have TV screens with sports on. read more

I love their new crispy cheese fiesta tacos but their nachos will always be my go-to. Their nachos never disappoint! Been coming here a lot lately! The food comes out pretty fast and it's always good! The staff brings the food to your table and will come check on you occasionally to make sure all is well! This location seats about 75 people with comfortable seats and AC, thank goodness because it's been HOT! There's outside seating but no one is out there because it's been HOT! The outdoor area maybe seats 30 but good luck going out there when it's 100+! Overall I like Sharkeys! This place has good food, Empire center has tons of parking, although you may have to walk a bit, and prices that won't break the bank! There are plenty of dishes to try and we have yet to have a bad meal! read more

I have been to this location many times over the years and never wrote a review. I haven't been here since 2020. While I was shopping at the empire Center with my son we decided to have lunch at Sharky's. We were welcomed by the friendly cashier who helped us make a decision of what to order. My son ordered a steak burrito and I ordered a chicken taquito plate that comes with rice and beans. The taquitos were ok, the mixture was a bit too dry for me and lacked flavor. The burrito was ok, my finished it all. The sauces are delicious and you can pick as many as you like. I tried four different ones and all tasted amazing. Overall this is a great location, has friendly and helpful staff, average food and very spacious indoor and outdoor seating. read more

I have not been here in quite some time and wow!! Wow the prices are sky high! And good grief, the size of the pizza box is extreme overkill. Perhaps if they cut down on unnecessarily sized to go boxes they could cut the costs of the items on the menu back a bit. Food was so so. My husband and son both had steak burritos and complained they tasted a bit fishy as if the meat and been cooked right after shrimp had in the grill. Two burritos and a pizza was 62 bucks. On September 29th, I placed a phone order for a wild salmon light burrito because I was really hungry and had not really eaten all day. When I told the woman who took my order what I wanted, she asked me, "With seaweed?" I said, "Yes, and the whole wheat tortilla." I finished placing my order and waited until it was time to pick it up. Once it was ready, I picked up my order, got some condiments, and left, trusting that my order was accurate. I started eating it, and I realized that it was not accurate. There was no seaweed on the burrito at all, it was very dry, and you could tell that it was made in a rush. This is my favorite burrito, I was starved, and it was too late to bring it back because they were closed. I could not believe that it did not have seaweed, especially since she asked me if I wanted it, and then it was dry and made in a rush to make it worse. I ate here once. If you look at the pictures of the food: you'll notice the food don't even look good. It looks super dry and bland. That's exactly how my food tasted. So much so that I dammed myself for even trying it. Nobody I know eats here..... but here I go. Suffice to say somebody likes it. Its so bad I started to call it the Arby's of Mexican food but even Arby's don't deserve that. It has to be the worst fast food chain of Mexican restaurant's where even Non Latinos know this food isn't nothing. They need a total overhaul and rebranding starting with entire menu and the name.
