I was in Burbank the entire day yesterday. Visiting a friend who lives not too far away from this Shakey's. She was so sick that I wanted to cheer her up and take her with me to have lunch together. But she turned me down saying that "she really can't get out of bed". First time at this Shakey's and will definitely not be the last. Walked in at 3pm yesterday, and got a nice greeting from Jeffrey. He was pleasant, and took my order and repeated my order back to me. Everything was correct & accurate, He also brought out my food in less than 30 minutes. They weren't that busy. I ordered their 12" medium size Veggie pizza that came with the following ingredients: mushrooms, tomatoes, green peppers, yellow onion, and black olives. All of my favorite ingredients. I also ordered 4 pieces of Fried Chicken(dark meat), and told their manager Alex, not to make them too greasy, nor salty. It was something in between. My Pizza tasted very fresh, delicious and very HOT! Piping hot. Regular size and the crust was super crispy. They have 2 BIG dining areas, an Arcade, at least 6-to 8 TVs, a salad bar, and also have buffet between the hours of 11AM to 2PM. I wanted to play some of the games inside the arcade, but will save that for another time. Has huge parking lot right behind the restaurant. 2 gender neutral restrooms. Restaurant was very clean, along with the restrooms. Fine music playing overhead from the 70s & 80's era. Thank you Alex, Jeffrey, management, and Shakey's. The only thing that kind of got to me, was that couple of employees past by my table and didn't bother to pick up the dirty dishes, and napkins. Always have to make a Shakey's stop when in SoCal and this location has good service, lots of parking, good staff, and delicious pizza of course. The store appearance is classic and still works well. Online ordering was a little tricky but pick up was a breeze. We sat down to enjoy a few slices as soon as we picked up our boxes. Booth seats were comfy and the place was in good order. When ever I go to Shakey's we always get the AYCE lunch. Its just the plain and simple, and the best. One day I felt like pizza and brought my niece with me. The food is delicious here, especially at the Burbank location. Fried chicken came out so hot, I had to wait to for it to cool down before digging in. Same with the mojo potato's, very fresh and hot and the pizza too. I love their supreme pizza with everything on it and endless fountain drink. The Burbank Shakey is huge! There are 2 dining rooms and a huge parking lot. Great place for parties. I came here for nostaic purposes and honestly the Pizza was fine... Still that unique tangy sauce I remember from my childhood days... However, the Chicken and Mojo's were sooo good. I forgot how much I like their chicken and mojo potatoes. The service was decent. All the staff we encountered were really nice. They made a mistake and brought us Mojo Potatos twice, but when we pointed out we already got it, our server just shrugged and said, "I know, we just made a mistake" and left the potatos. Great experience at this location. Everything was clean, the food was hot and chicken crispy. Our order came out quickly and the location was not too packed. The person that brought out our food was really nice and came back to see if we needed anything else. The only con I have is the arcade. It's so. Expensive to play when half of the games are $1 vs. $.50. I understand that they have to profit; however, due to the size of the arcade, I think it could be more reasonable. What a waste of 20 bucks I went in here expecting the usual delicious pizza mojo wings and salad bar and boy was I disappointed. The pizza was horrible I've been to all the Shakey's down south and this one really really disappointed me pizza had no flavor it had no Tang or zest to it like it usually does. The rest of the salad bar was amazing minus the meatballs for the pizza but the chicken off the chain Mojo's up to par like always salad bar was fresh all the toppings everything was amazing I tried a little bit of everything the only thing I really didn't like was the pizza and the meatballs. I will say it was very clean they kept everything full and the sodas and water were on point. Oh yeah one more thing I went to grab the sausage and pepperoni pizza and it had one piece of sausage on it and only a few pieces of pepperoni. Food quality was quite poor. The pasta is basically Ragu sauce and plain noodles. The chicken was very salty and dry (even though they had a fresh batch out). Pizza all tasted the same and quality was not great. The dough was too doughy. They had a smore dessert pizza that was heavy and doughy. Servers were nice but had to flag them down, which makes sense for a buffet. Music was very loud and there were lots of kids screaming around the small arcade area. Plates were not really washed well. Value was not there. $16+ tax for salty, poor quality food. I could only eat 2-3 slices of pizza because it tasted meh. I went here on Saturday. I liked that there's a salad bar since I'm health conscious. I didn't know there was rotisserie chicken or baked chicken. It tasted better than the fried chicken. I love coming to this place since it's close by home , but yesterday I had a bad experience with a server who was just rude and didn't talk which I find that rude since u need some kind of costumer service to be working there she just seem bored and tired. She had like red color hair didn't get her name. I went to check out Shakey's because I've never had it before. With the current price of pizza and chicken these days, I think the PCM is a pretty good deal. They had a lunch buffet that is probably the best deal. The chicken was freshly made and the mojos are nice. The pizza is okay, but it was my least favorite of the 3. We called Clarence the mgr. and he said they forgot to pack the other half of our order but told us if we would do another DELIVERY$$$ reorder they would add it to our order. That equals DOUBLE!! This is really the last old school nostalgia Pizza Parlor type of place that I'm aware. I didn't grew up in California, so the nostalgia is not really there for me for this brand specifically, but it definitely harkens back to my high school years and it was always enjoyable to come to the lunch buffet w my work colleagues, but I don't work near one anymore, and when I came in on the weekend, I found out they didn't have the buffet which I was looking so forward to! They can get super busy, but the staff stays pretty efficient and pleasantly professional. Depending on how busy it gets, it can start to look shoddy if they have too many tables get up at once, but they're generally quick to clean things up as fast as they can. You'll always get hot fresh food (unless it's a crisp cold salad) and it's mostly still a value compared to today's overpriced world. read more

I have a son with special needs and was having trouble in the game room Clarence the supervisor realized my son having a meltdown came in to save the day helped him play games and my son was so happy when Clarence helped him pick out his prize. Yes there are kind people out there he was definitely 1 food was delicious generous with toppings mash potatoes and enchiladas were delicious and flowing hot chicken and wedges.
