Good food at a decent price. Not the best pizza but they offer plenty of tasty dishes to enjoy

As a childhood restaurant, this has been one of my favorite restaurants growing up. Not only is the food excellent but so are almost all of the servers. I always had excellent experiences until recently when my friends and I were seating in the bar area with Jessica as our bartender/server. Jessica didn't attend to us as much as she should have and even forgot to check up on us a few times. We waited a very long time to get her attention and had to physically wave her over. When our pizza came out, the runner didn't include any plates and when I asked Jessica for plates she told me to reuse the bread plates that we already used and were clearly dirty.Who likes to cross contaminate?? When I asked for new plates, she walked away with an attitude. Eventually when it was time for the check, she didn't shy away from pouring her a little bit of beer, gulping it down and then attending to us. Since e when is drinking alcoholic beverages while working acceptable and appropriate? I will not be going back to this server. This is unbelievable. read more

on new years day, this was one of the few restaurants that were open although the rest of the mall closed early. i almost feel apologetic when i show up to a restaurant these days with 5 people. it is such an odd number, the hostesses just doesn't know what to do with us. At CPK, there were only 2 tables that can accommodate this and they knew right away where to seat us. the food was excellent but took a little longer than i'd hoped for (admittedly i was starving from a 7 hour shopping spree and woodburry right before). my favorite dish is the hummus appetizer, the pita is so warm and soft, not to mention fragrent. read more

I actually thought that I was going to get a decent pizza, but I was so wrong. Very dry!!! And the service was not good at all. I was so disappointed. I have tasted better pizza, even the two dollar slices are better. read more

CPK has always been a go-to restaurant of mine. It's a great place to grab lunch or dinner with friends and family, and is a suitable environment to chit-chat for an hour or two. I remember in high school, I used to come here with a huge group of girls on the weekend and talk for hours over some yummy food. I usually get the original BBQ chicken pizza which they are famous for and it is so delicious. I can barely finish it myself! I've recently tried the Thai Crunch salad with avocado, which had lots of veggies, cilantro, peanuts, rice sticks, chicken and all tossed in a sweet peanut dressing. I only got the half salad which was still plenty of food! Every bite was so yummy and full of flavor! I love a good salad. I'll definitely be ordering this again. I also liked that we got warm bread with flavored olive oil in the beginning! It was a nice little appetizer. I only gave this place 4 stars because it's still a chain restaurant and their dishes aren't completely unique. read more

I've tried this place many times even going to the Wayne location and i'm never impressed. Everything taste very plain to me. The only reason I keep going is because my girlfriend loves some pizza they make so I try to be nice and put up with it. read more

They took my favorite dish OFF THE MENU! Can someone please explain to me why they would do that?? When I asked my waiter about it, he said the restaurant cut 20% of their menu!! Meaning that this is just one of their lazy ploys to cut costs!!! Never going back again. SO DISAPPOINTING. read more

I usually LOVE CPK and I haven't been here in years- the best part of the meal was our server- Rainbow. She was funny nice and attentive. Sis and I split a cobb salad and BBQ Chicken pizza. Both were totally average and I recall the BBQ chicken pizza being much better. I joined the rewards program called "Pizza Dough" on Rainbow's suggestion and I should have done it at the beginning of the meal, I would have gotten a free small plate app. Guess that means I have to go back :) read more

We waited about 30 minutes for a table and the hostesses were super confusing about when our table was ready. After being told you're up you are asked to stand in a line and seated in that order. The place is tiny and our table was very crowded - so much so that I worried that others walking by would knock down our soda. The pizza was just ok - plenty to share or take home - but pricey for what you get. The waitress was on top of things and brought up multiple refills but then never came back with my wrapped up pizza to take home. read more

Service is good, food is not just pizza even though the word pizza is in their name. Large portions of food so you get your value for the price. Years ago when I lived in Los Angeles I hated this chain as service and food was not very good but times has changed and so has my mind. I will revisit again as I do enjoy having a meal here. Pizza is still not the greatest but the rest of the menu is not bad. The desert menu is pretty good and the portion is nice and large so save room for it as it is worth it. read more

I usually eat at CPK often and its always a solid 3-4 stars, but the last visit I had here was different. We asked for mac and cheese bites and they had ran out, no biggie. The kitchen kept dropping plates and it was quite annoying. I got the BBQ Chicken Pizza and Chipotle Chicken Pizza. The second I took my first bite I knew something was wrong, my partner said it was fine. But I told her no the cheese seems bad, right after eating our pizzas both our stomachs hurt. read more

Pretty good salad and pasta. I enjoyed this spot for lunch one day in the mall. However, their service is a bit too spotty and the prices need to be knocked down a little bit, how about a dollar or two too much? Otherwise, I wouldn't think twice about coming back - but you know they do have good portions.... read more

I used to come here all the time for their pizza because let's be honest the pizza is AMAZING. My go to pizza is the veggie pizza because I love the flavor of all the veggies on that perfect slice. Recently I have been trying to stay away from carbs and I have found that their Roasted Veggie Salad is perfect for that! I either add a hard boiled egg or fresh grilled salmon. My boyfriend who loves seafood adds shrimp. It is great! read more

The food was really great but our server was awful. She never brought us bread or asked and my kids had said they were starving. She brought me the wrong drink then got an attitude with me when I politely said I had asked for something else. She brought our food and left without bringing us forks to eat and never came back to ask if we needed anything. Luckily other waiters were around who actually stopped by to ask if we needed anything. I used to frequent this location all the time several years ago. But after a string of incidents, I will not return here. Twice we received pizza with a hair on it. Alright, not a huge deal, take it back and remake it....but taking 40 minutes to do so? Ridiculous. Then, while I was eating on a separate trip, a roach fell from the ceiling and LANDED ON OUR TABLE. When we alerted the staff to this, they said the store upstairs was having bug problems and laughed it off. Not acceptable. read more

While the food is decent sometimes the service isn't good. If you order take out or sit in the bar there could be 5 employees standing around doing nothing and they will absolutely NOT even greet you or pay any attention to you. So you do have to sit there for a few minutes until they even acknowledge you. I also asked one of the men behind the bar for salt once n he put it in a container for me then proceeded to throw it to me- YES, throw. Another thing they do that is so messed up, when ordering pasta they give you an option to add chicken, shrimp etc. for an extra $3-4, and although they are charging you extra for this they give you so little it's as if it's free! NO, I'm paying extra to get chicken give me damm chicken! They are so cheap! I've attached a photo of the chicken they give you with your pasta and charge u an extra $4 for. Eh....go to Grand Lux instead. We went for dinner for the first time. We figured we'd give it a try/ try something different... mistake. We did call ahead to cut down the wait time. Still had the awesome experience of feeling like heard cattle while we waited. There's no seating or designated wait area so you just sort of loom around the area being told "don't go too far." Ok... how about get some pagers like every other restaurant did back in the 90's so I don't have to stand around here watching people eat, wondering if I have time to continue shopping or not. Then comes the screaming... yes screaming. They basically go down the list and scream your group name twice... hopefully you here it. Again, invest in a pager and be a little more respectful of your customers. We were seated. The server was nice but never checked in on us. In fact, this seemed to be the case across the board. At one point, a young man at the table next to us spilled his drink, a full glass of something red, all over the table and onto himself. He had no napkins. We noticed it immediately as did another table. The woman from that table gave her own napkin to help. The young man was so polite. I watched as he kindly continued to try to get a servers attention, eventually shifting to just raising his hand, meanwhile the table was covered in his drink and it continued to drip on him. How does no one notice this? The servers were so busy running around, right past him, that no one even saw this. I finally got up, went to the front and was then sent over by the kitchen to get a chunk of napkins and gave them to him. It's absurd that no employees even offered to help/ intervene. When our food came out, it looked good but tasted meh. I had a steak salad. I literally took one bite of lettuce, server asked if it was ok, I said yes and he left. Ok no problem there. Then I took a bite of the steak- awful! No flavor what-so ever. I think they just forgot to marinade it. So I attempted to flag down my server to let him know....never saw him again.... waiting, waiting, wanting to tell him my steak sucks... nothing. Meanwhile my husband is done eating now. So I go to the bathroom to see if I see this guy along the way, nothing. Bathroom has two stalls for the entire place, one of which is out of order. Hey gang- health code violation. You have to offer more then one working restroom for a restaurant serving this number of patrons. So after waiting on line for to hat seemed like forever, I gave up and went back to my table... still no server. So, I got up and put my coat on, knowing that it would finally get someone's attention since they'd want to get paid. Poof! The server appeared! Amazing how that happens. He saw my salad, basically untouched, asked if it was ok, and I told him the steak was awful etc. he said I should have told him- lol ok! When? Where were you? When was I supposed to tell you? When I went to find napkins for one of your other tables? When I went looking for you when I went to the bathroom? Or the countless other times I sat looking around for you? I basically paid for a salad I didn't eat. But that's ok. California Pizza Kitchen clearly needed the money to fix their restroom. Hope it helped. But no, no we won't be back. So we went to the movies and decided to try out the pizza kitchen... Way too busy to feel like you are getting good service. The server was great the food was okay average mass-produced food. Hard to keep a conversation with the busy atmosphere unless you like that. read more

Typical California Kitchen restaurant. Been to a few in the area. This one lacks in service compared to the one in willowbrook.

Good food but it lacks in service big big time !!!! Tostadas and artichoke is just amazing with some freshly brewed ice tea!!!

I use to love this place. Prices has gone up, portions has gone down. Went there today and in my fish tacos there was literally 1 small stick of fish. Didn't even cover half of the taco. Told the manager about it, she stated she would bring me another piece of fish. Waited 20 minutes and it never came. Another thing, no longer unlimited bread, one small piece per person. With all the other choices in the mall, I will never go back to this location. read more

i normally wouldn't consider going to a pizza place in the mall, but CPK is nuts. the high rating i gave it comes from just one of their pizza topping creations, possibly one of the most ingenius toppings ever. the 'Peking Duck Pizza' Pan Roasted duck breast, Mozzarella cheese, soy-glazed Shiitake mushrooms, crispy wontons, slivered green onions and cilantro ginger Hoisin sauce. Hoisin sauce on pizza!!?! i was skeptic at first, a disbeliever. even as i was ordering it i was sure it was going to suck. but alas it was one of the best. the crispy wontons they pour over the pizza gives it a nice crunch. who would've thought bowls of crispy wontons they give you before a meal at a chinese restaurant would expand onto pizza tops. now that's cultural evolution. read more

I've been walking by this place since I was a child and never went in. I've been here twice already and love it. I'd recommend the Jerk Chicken Pizza. All the appetizers I tried were amazing too. Will definitely frequent this often. read more

Really enjoyed my experience here, service was fine but the food was really good. I had the Baja chicken spring rolls to start which I thought were excellent. Went here kind of late after a movie. We were able to sit down fairly quickly. Service was a little slow starting. Got the sangria, I do not recomend this. I got the half waldorf salad which was good. Others got the bbq chicken salad which was also very good. I had never been to a CPK before and did not expect the fast foodish feel of the decor/setup. The prices are fairly decent but not for that style of food. Might try again, the other salads looked great and the pizzas look good as well. read more

Never had a bad meal here. When I first started coming they had this amazing dish called the Garlic Shrimp Pizza. The pizza menu seems to have gotten shorter. Boohoo they took it off the menu. Otherwise I'd give this place 5 stars. However, the pot stickers, the quinoa salad, the regular pizza, the Kung Pao Spaghetti, and the Thai Chicken pizza all kick butt. read more

This is one of the nicer CPK's that I've been to. The wait was a little shorter than stated (10 instead of 15), which did mean we needed to stick close by since they would've given our table away. We were looking at the menu while we waited, so we ready to order when our server Gabby came by. It was a pretty basic experience for a chain restaurant. Definitely a nice option for a sit down place after walking around the mall. However, if you get a table (opposed to a booth) there isn't much space to put any shopping bags. read more

Good affordable food and good service!!! I luckily have an enjoyable experience each and every time I come here. We always order the corn guacamole with chips and quesadillas for starters and the delicious Waldorf chicken salad (one of the best restaurant salads ever). Decided to also try something different today and ordered a lunch special (1/2 sandwich and salad) turkey sandwich with Brie and pear on toasted ciabatta and Cesar salad ($9.95) and a grill Cedar Plank salmon dish that came with roasted corn succotash and feta ($18.99). Food was really yummy. All in all, very positive experience especially given it was packed today on Presidents Day. This restaurant however need to invest into those electronic devices for managing the waiting list or like the Short Hills CPK location where they take your phone number so you can go shopping. When your table is ready then you will get a text. No wasting time sitting around waiting for your table. read more

Me, my sister and brother-in-law were deciding what to get for dinner. It was either gonna be Blaze Pizza or CPK. We shoulda went to Blaze. The wait time was as long as I expected. We ordered drinks that didn't even come out til after our appetizers after we asked our waiter for it. They were out of the crispy Mac and cheese and as a replacement they gave rotini pasta with what seemed and tasted like ragu cheese sauce. All the sauce by the way was on the bottom of the plate. We also got the spinach artichoke dip which was the highlight of the meal. Even that was soupy and not thicker like past times I went here or got it from other restaurants. I got the Hawaiian pizza which was highly disappointing(Picture is posted in the review. By far the worst Hawaiian pizza I ever had. They cut pineapple slices in quarters and just laid pieces of ham on top of the pizza. Looks like they half assed putting together our pizzas.), my sister mushroom and bil got the jerk chicken. The dough they use I'm almost certain is the same as 7-11s dough and the food itself came out warm. Not hot warm meaning it was just sitting there for god knows how long. Pizza is the best when it's hot and ours was very disappointing. The waiter never came back to ask how our food was or if we needed more refills. We had to track him down for drinks, extra napkins and the leftovers. When my sister asked if he forgot to bring the leftovers he copped an attitude, pointed to the bag on the floor and said there. Really? That's how you reply to your customers and treat them? This place used to be pretty good back then before they moved. Now it's just an utter disappointment. I am not sure how they continually stay busy. Maybe I'll give cpk another shot in the future but definitely not at this location. read more

Came here on a Thursday night with a friend around 8 PM. We called around 715 to sign up on their "waiting list" and were seated within 2 minutes. For appetizers we ordered the tortilla spring rolls (basil & thai chicken) and they came with a sauce (which I didn't particularly care for) and guacamole that was surprisingly spicy & tasty. We ordered 2 pizzas between us two, and went with a whole wheat tostada and a thin crust sicillian. The tostada comes with a refreshing tomato salsa & has the option of adding lime roasted chicken. The sicillian was very good w/ a sweet tomato sauce that went perfectly with the salty meat on the pizza. The tostada was especially crispy topped with a perfect ammount of crunchy & fresh lettuce. For dessert we shared the chocolate brownie souffle & ice cream and it was delicious! All in all I was very happy with my meal! read more
