Was seriously in the mood for a good sandwich and Fat Bastard did not disappoint! I ordered the Philly cheesesteak and it was everything I wanted--flavorful, cheesy, and cooked just right. Joe tried the Clams Oreganata along with the barbecue wings and and order wings tossed in their signature Fat Bastard sauce, and let's just say... those wings were a hit! Service was excellent--friendly and quick. I'll definitely be coming back to try the pizza and a few other things on the menu. This spot is a must if you're craving something satisfying!

This was very interesting and I was expecting something different. I was pleasantly surprised. The food was good. My husband's sandwich was piping hot - which is the way he loves his hot food served. I loved the open kitchen. The place was small but had a nice vibe. Lots of TV's for sports. My salad was missing the turkey but they brought it out separately when I pointed it out. They probably were better off leaving it off as it was cheap pre-packaged turkey. Sabrina was our waitress and she was very friendly!

my man sweats this place and always talks about their sandwhiches, and coming from someone who is a very tough eater to please, that says a lot. service can take a bit if you decide to sit in. however, for about $14 i ordered a heart attack for lunch. i ate half here and saved the other half for later. the bread is king here, as it keeps all the fatness inside. he got the fat bastard sandwich minus onions which is his go to. i opted for the make my own. mine had onion rings, melted mozz, fat bastard sauce, melted cheese sauce, fries and mac n cheese bites. the mac n cheese bites were basically bundles of mac n cheese put together and thrown on here. i liked this sandwich a lot, but i think they need to throw more melted cheese or the melted cheese sauce on. id come back for the eggplant parm and some of the apps for sure.

Side of sausage and broccoli. Glad I didn't order the meal size. It was sooo flavorful

I had a get together of about 25 friends thr yesterday. 1st time thr..I couldn't have me more pleased! The staff wr so nice and accommodating. The food was the star! Not a bad dish to b had! The portions wr more than generous and great prices. I had the sausage and brocollirabe..others had pizzas, calamari, to name a few. I will b a repeat customer

Ate in never ate from here but always pass it on route 46 since it's close to home. I ordered 2 sandwiches. 1 was the Fat Bastard the other was a Philly Cheesesteaks with 2 drinks. My total was $32 & service was friendly I would recommend if you're hungry while wanting fresh, delicious comfort food Italian style. The bread is fresh & warm just as their other ingredients. The sandwiches are very fulfilling & will leave you full to the brim.

Large plain pizza... Quality was decent.

Ordered two pizzas for takeout -- The Old Judge and a large plain. Pies were ready when promised, service was fast at checkout for pickup during a bustling time at their bar and in their dining room, and pies looked perfectly cooked before heading home. Both were very good, although we enjoyed the Old Judge more. Parking In the crowded parking lot on a Friday evening during traditional happy hour time, you're immediately hit by the smell of garlic outside the establishment. A trip to sample their food on site is definitely on the horizon!

Deeply rooted in Bergen County's pizza scene, the owner, Anthony Giaquinto, is running this establishment with his two sons as his last hurrah in the restaurant business. Located on the former site of Subway off of Route 46 West in South Hackensack, Fat Bastard and Son's recently opened this past April, and my partner and I paid them a visit for dinner tonight as first-timers. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the host, who escorted us to a table. It's a little dark inside with a pleasant vibe, as a band was setting up on stage. Their menu was extensive and varied, containing all of the usual pizza staples such as wings, salads, soups, burgers, and wraps rounding out with chicken and seafood dishes. For starters, we decided on their rice balls with ground beef, peas, and cheese, with marinara sauce on the side. Known for their Original Old Judge (Thin Crust Pizza), we opted for the Grandma Pizza with mushrooms and extra cheese as the main meal. Our server was Ang(elina), who's very knowledgeable with incredible customer service and brought out complimentary bread with olive oil to start our meal. The rice balls were authentic and flavorful. One suggestion is to leave them a few more minutes, as the middle was cold. The pizza has that perfect crust-to-sauce ratio, and its slices were decent, tasty, and well seasoned. The food was good, the service was pretty quick, the price was reasonable for the area, and the place was neat and clean. Overall, it was a nice experience, which we can recommend.

    THE Old Judge!

Even their sauces are produced in small batches based on demand. Trust me, you'll be able to smell all of that deliciousness once you walk in. We were greeted by a friendly employee who gave us some recommendations on wing sauces. We ordered the Wing Sampler (~$22 for 15 pieces), fries (~$5), and cornbread (~$3). For our wings, we were able to choose up to 3 sauces. I was a bit disappointed that they don't offer any dry rubs, only wet marinades... dry rub or bust. We went with the Original Mild House Sauce, Sweet Thai, and Jerk Seasoning. The wings were huge, meaty, and tender! All of the sauces were delicious, but my favorite was the Sweet Thai. The jerk sauce had the right blend of ingredients, giving you that kick of heat and flavor. They went a bit heavier on the breading than what I prefer. I prefer no breading with a crunchy skin. The french fries were crispy. The corn bread was sweet and moist. We would return to try more wing flavors!

When I told my mom where we were going her reaction- "omg that place is still around?!? It use to be excellent back in the day!" Well I am happy to report this place is just as good today as it was during my mother's heyday. I decided to get a few oysters and clams to start off with and everything was just so fresh. As an entree the Seafood in a spicy red sauce was easily one of the best I have had in a very long time. There was a generous amount of seafood within the dish, the sauce I swear I could just drink it out of a cup and the pasta was cooked perfectly. My husband got the bbq ribs which I didn't try but you could see how they just slid right off the bone and he couldn't stop talking about how good they were. We ended our meal with some strong espresso. I enjoyed how it is a very casual atmosphere with a nice bar area that had a few TVs to watch some sports games. No need to dress to impress. The service was a little bit on the slower side but the waitress was very nice. Their menu has a wide array of options, rivaled only by the countless photographs and mementos that fill nearly every inch of wall space. There are many sandwiches, a half-dozen salads, thin-crust pizzas, and a substantial range of pastas. I'd caught a reel from a stand-up comic doing a bit on Yelp (talk about niche comedy, right?) and…read morethey'd ended it with, "And whoever bothers to give a 3-star review is psychotic!" - which made me laugh. But sometimes... a (middle of the road) "3" is just how it goes. Case in point: Bullhorns. Inside is a bit 'cold' and 'underdeveloped' and not a place I'd want to eat-in at. Guy behind the counter... a bit cold himself. (All good, retail is a cruel biz I know from experience.) As for the food... it's hard to stand out in a crowded field when it comes to burgers 'n fries and what they're doing is solid but it's also not that memorable. The fries (I ordered two which was more than plenty for four hungry people - they're taking a page from Five Guys on being generous with the serving size) were crunchy and flavorful. The burgers - they do not skimp on the patty size or toppings and everything worked well together but... yeah, it's a burger. (I was the only one that seemed to really dig what they ordered.) Maybe worth a mention: most chains when they offer something "hot" (spicy) - it's not that serious, right? You need to keep it safe (tame) for the masses. Well Bullhorns' "Devil's Revenge" was not hyperbole and my one kid (that usually loves spicy food) stood up after just one bite to walk it off. He went back for another and was sweating. (Poor kid begged his mom to swap burgers so she'd have to endure the capsaicin-overload.) For a chain they can't compete with the likes of Shake Shack or even Smashburger. If I found myself in the area again (with a hankering for a burger and fries) - I'd rather drive a few minutes out of the way to hit Bun Buddies over in Wood-Ridge for a much better meal. 3-stars it is.

I had a very disappointing and honestly embarrassing experience today at bb.q Chicken…read more I was genuinely excited to eat here because I've had a good experience with their food before. Unfortunately, this visit was the complete opposite. I ordered at the counter with no issues. I asked which options were sweet and spicy, made my choice, paid, and was given a buzzer. Everything seemed fine. After ordering food from other vendors (which I received with no problem), I realized my buzzer never went off. So I walked back to the counter to check on my order. That's when things went left. The cashier told me there was no order under my buzzer number (#02) -- that my order didn't exist. I went back to my table, grabbed my receipt, and brought it to her. It clearly showed order #20, meaning she either gave me the wrong buzzer or entered the number incorrectly. A simple mistake... or at least it should have been. Instead of fixing it, she refused to help. She immediately became defensive and insisted that someone in my party -- specifically my daughter, who never even approached the counter -- must have already taken the food. That accusation alone was inappropriate and completely false. From there, the situation escalated unnecessarily. I was met with dismissiveness, accusations, and even laughter. I was told I would not receive my food or a refund. This went on for 30-40 minutes. It was honestly embarrassing. They have cameras pointed directly at the counter, and I even suggested they check them -- because why would anyone argue this long over something they didn't pay for? It made no sense. At one point, I had to stand there and refuse to let additional orders go through until the situation was addressed, because she simply would not budge. As a business owner myself, I was shocked. If there's ever confusion with an order, you fix it. You remake the food or issue a refund. Instead, I was treated with suspicion and disrespect over an $18 order. I don't like to make things about race, but as a woman of color, the way I was spoken to and dismissed did not sit right with me. Security from American Dream Mall was called, but they said they couldn't help since the restaurant is third-party -- which only added to the frustration. I ended up recording part of the situation because of how poorly it was being handled. At that point, I didn't even care about the food anymore -- I just wanted my money back. The cashier called the owner, and instead of resolving it properly, I was asked for my personal information and told that if they refunded me and later decided I was "wrong," they could take legal action against me. Over chicken. Completely inappropriate and intimidating. After all of that, 30-40 minutes later, she suddenly "found" my order in the system and processed the refund -- which only confirmed that the mistake was on their end all along. This situation should have taken one minute to fix. Instead, it turned into a drawn-out, public ordeal where I was treated disrespectfully and made to feel like I was doing something wrong. Other customers were watching, waiting, and some even left -- so the business lost money over something that was entirely avoidable. Mistakes happen. But how you treat customers when they do is what matters most. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst customer service experiences I've had in a long time.
