Underrated. Came in w/a small group and our pup. Sat outside. They were all so nice to my pup. Server brought him out water with our waters... so nice! If I remember correctly, her name was Emily! She was great! We got our pup an unseasoned chicken breast which was great! CPK food is mediocre but does the job. It was the service we received this time that made our night.

Came here with some friends for lunch and we all took advantage of the lunch menu, which featured the choice a pizza duo $13.99, sandwich duo $13.99, pasta duo$12.99, or soup & salad duo $9.99. I opted for the pizza duo and selected the 7"California veggie pizza and a Thai crunch salad with dressing on the side. I was very pleased with my order. The salad had a bit too much fried wonton strips in comparison to the lettuce, but it was still good. I would've appreciated more of the healthy veggies, but can't really complain since the crispy wontons added a nice crunchy texture. I liked my pizza, which had broccolini, mushrooms, zucchini, tomatoes, and red onions. I also ordered a regular sized Sicilian pizza to go. It was still hot when I got home, so I had a slice--absolutely delicious! I'll have to come back to try other menu options. Overall, I was very pleased with my experience. Our server took good care of us. The restaurant was very clean and welcoming. Parking was easy.

It's been over a decade since any of us had CPK. I was gifted $50 card to spend and we ordered take out for 3 items. Went over by $15. I had called to place the order and they asked if I wanted curb side or walk in. I said walk in. My food was ready when I arrived and neatly packaged. Food was decent no complaints. We ordered The Works pizza ($20.49) which had pepperoni, Italian sausage but from the look of it, you see a lot of mushrooms and green peppers and would have thought it was vegetarian. The chicken tequila spinach fettuccine ($22.99) was with a creamy jalapeño lime sauce. Be sure to mix this up. Then can't go wrong with classic Ceasar salad ($16.99). Choice of full or half size. We ordered full size.

I had the piccata noodles with the steak cauliflower was so good. They seasoned the cauliflower so well and it wasn't mushy, it had a lightly crunch center. It was cooked so well. I feel like it could have used a little more lemon or a little more sauce but otherwise it was so good. We also tried the gluten free pizza crust with the margarita pizza! The gluten free crust was as you would expect. It wasn't anything too special but still a good option. I love to see that they have options for all different dietary needs. This restaurant is quite big and has so much seat for small and large parties. The wait staff are friendly and quick.

CPK is a chain, but there are not many left in San Diego. I arrived and the parking lot was packed. It was near the holidays and this place is located in a large shopping area, with many stores. After circling for a bit, I was lucky to get a spot that was not very far away. We went in and were greeted right away by someone who could take our to go order. She was very nice, friendly, and offered some suggestions and answered any questions that we had. She promised the food in a certain time limit and it was ready at least 5 minutes before it was promised. The food is consistent, and the menu is fairly large. We ordered the BBQ chicken pizza and a salad, and they were great. The pizza only comes in 1 size though, I am not sure why. The food was warm, tasty, and consistent - just like other times I have ordered it before. The waiting area was a little chaotic. There was a large party there waiting for a table and they had some very energetic children who wanted to run, and scream, and play games. Other than that, it looked like a nice place and the restaurant area looked nice, quiet, and welcoming. Photos attached.

What a pleasant surprise! I used to eat here quite often and slowly their prices increased, so I stopped going. Recently I brought a group of 9 women with me and we had such a nice lunch, excellent service and very good food. Plus, they have great lunch specials! I ordered the combo with a Thai crunch salad and a pepperoni, sausage and mushroom pizza. Both were delicious! We were served warm bread with oil & vinegar while we were waiting for our food. All of our food was served in a timely manner, everything fresh and delicious! This time I won't wait so long before I come back!

We came here before a movie to grab a drink and something to eat and I gotta say it was pretty busy. Granted it was a Saturday afternoon but I forgot that CPK was in this shopping center and how much variety the menu has. We grabbed seats at the small bar top area they had because we were just there for a quick bite but I gotta say these servers were working hard but it was hard to order or even get a drink sitting at the bar even with multiple servers walking right there. I understand being busy but I do think acknowledgement is always nice to know that we will get taken care of. We ended up just getting a glass of wine and shared the dumplings and of course the famous CPK mac n cheese because why not. Very random meal and plenty of food for the 2 of us because we obviously needed to get popcorn when we got to the theater. I forgot how pricey CPK can be but what isn't these days, I am sure I will be back again soon for an easy meal.

The new churro swirl dessert was not very good :( it tasted more like french toast and had an eggy taste rather than a churro. I would try a different dessert next time

LOVE love love CPK! I'm a Thai Crunch Salad girl, but tried the new Crispy Wanton Salad. It was delish! I'd add edamame next time as well though. We always went to the Solana Beach location until it closed .... SO sad. Now we have to travel to either of the 2 other locations which is over 30 min from us. Hopefully they actually open the Encinitas location (fingers crossed). Servers are always nice at CPK, they come often and I'm hardly ever lacking something. I love that we can grab a unbaked to-go pizza for $10ish with each entree as well. Such a great price. We'll usually give those to our kids, who live close but not at home. The only complaint I have is that the Crispy Mac & Cheese Balls haven't come back on the menu. My boys literally grew up on these when we went out. I think we ask every time, if they're back on the menu. Who knows, someday they may show up ..... The Carmel Mountain location is light and airy inside. They have a ton of booths, which I prefer and I've never had to wait for a table. They keep the place clean and the ambiance is low-key. Super for families!

I'm no stranger to CPK. I used to go at least a few times every month. The food usually is pretty consistent. My favorite thing to get is the egg rolls. It's not like the Chinese egg rolls. These are massive fried-tortilla covered goodness. The egg rolls are a must-order every time I go. Another dish I like to order is the Cobb salad. It is a calorie-packed, protein-filled goodness. My mom's favorite is the salmon piccata. She especially loves the pasta with lemon-caper sauce. Honestly, I don't think I've had a bad meal at CPK when I eat in the restaurant. Now, take-outs, that's another matter. I've had couple of bad experiences with take outs. One time, we showed up at the quoted time to pick up our order, and was told it wasn't ready. 30 minutes later, it's still not ready. When it was finally ready, I looked inside, and it wasn't even my order. Then we found out, that bag that was sitting on the counter for the last 30 minutes. That was our food. The server missed it (even though I went up to check on it every 10 minutes or so). By the time we got home (5 minutes away), our food was cold. But I do have to mention, however, when we called the restaurant to let them know of the issue which resulted in cold food, they offered to remake it right away. I drove back to the restaurant to pick up the remake when the manager came out to personally apologize and gave us a gift card as service recovery. It wasn't really necessary as I've already agreed to have the food remade. However her gesture was very much appreciated. But the lesson learned is to avoid doing take-out. And if you must, be diligent in checking on your orders before you leave.

We went on a Sunday night. It wasn't packed, but there were a handful of people in the restaurant. The amount of time that we waited for our food was ridiculous. The food was pretty good, so that was the saving grace. The guacamole was mainly corn with some avocado chopped up, so it wasn't really traditional guac, but it was delicious!! The club pizza was good but it had a whole "bag full" of arugula on it. Like, a full salad on top of the pizza. Arugula is good, but the amount was overkill. Still a good taste though. Our waitress didn't come and check on us, refill our drinks (even after asking), and didn't bring more napkins. Though our waitress was nice, the lack of service wasn't okay. The restaurant itself was clean, the decor was pleasant, the food was good, but we won't be back.

For mother's day, I tried their new menu.. filet skewers with chimichurri duo and I would say that I am not satisfied. The meat is so tough and hard to chew. But, I am satisfied with our server Mark. He is very kind and accommodating.

The space was clean and inviting, and we were seated quickly after we arrived. Since it's also a bar, it was definitely on the louder side. We were still able to have a conversation, but it was a bit noisy. Our server, Jane, was great. She answered all of our questions and gave us recommendations by sharing her personal favorites, the restaurant's top sellers, and describing how each dish tasted. She was very knowledgeable and thorough with the menu, which made ordering easy. It did take a little while for our food to come out, but once it arrived, I ordered the Wagyu Beef Sliders, and my friend had the Short Rib Mac & Cheese. The sliders were just okay for me. The beef was cooked more on the well-done side than I would have preferred, and the toasted bun was a little too hard. The sliders tasted a bit dry, so I found myself adding ketchup to almost every bite. On the other hand, my friend really enjoyed the Short Rib Mac & Cheese. They said it was super cheesy, gooey, and melted in your mouth. The short rib added a rich, savory flavor, and the crispy onions gave the dish a nice little crunch that balanced out the creamy texture. Even though my meal didn't quite hit the mark, I'd definitely come back to try other menu items. Jane's service was great, and based on my friend's meal, it seems like there's plenty more on the menu worth exploring.

Prior to our outing, I sent my family several recommendations for lunch with two burger joints in Escondido and one restaurant in our neck of the woods. The Shop was the last rec and I knew my brother and SIL would probably pick this spot because it serves cocktails and I was right. We enjoyed the food, my family enjoyed their adult beverages, the ambience was really good, and I thought the customer service had some opportunities. The Shop is located in Rancho Bernardo, specifically on Bernardo Center Drive. The restaurant can be found within the Rancho Bernardo Town Center shopping center amongst a group of eateries. Vons is the anchor store and some of the other tenants are the following: The Kebab Shop, China Fun, San Diego Gymnastics & Parkour, BHC Chicken, SDNY'S, and Casa Lahori. There is plenty of free parking at this shopping center. The Shop has plenty of outdoor umbrella covered seating and a spacious indoor eating area. Inside, there is bartop seating overlooking an assortment of adult beverages, there is a good amount of wooden tables and wooden chairs, and there is a long wooden fixed bench with a white brick wall where you'll lean your back onto as you dine. The Shop has decorative light fixtures, a character and boom box decal on one wall, framed black and white pics on another wall, and there's a television above the bar where we watched World Cup soccer. Our waitress and the staff we interacted with were friendly, but I wished our waitress checked up on us more often. I asked one of the staff, a smaller young lady, for a refill of my Shirley Temple and for a box for our leftovers, but it took awhile for those requests to be taken care of. One of my gym friends asked me whether I had dined at The Shop and after telling him I had not, he recommended this restaurant and mentioned that it served memorable cocktails. My brother and SIL are bourbon aficionados, so I knew they'd select The Shop to eat lunch at after they checked out the Yelp business link I had sent them as one of the three recommendations. I don't indulge in adult beverages, but my family ordered Old Fashioned drinks and they appeared to enjoy their drinks. Prior to grubbing at The Shop, I couldn't tell what type of cuisine it serves, but I now know that they specialize in Italian cuisine. They serve starters, cheese + charcuterie, salads, sandwiches, housemade pastas, signature pizzas, desserts, and sides. We decided to share appetizers, so we ordered two orders of freshly baked garlic rolls and my family ordered the spinach artichoke dip. We got to The Shop around 12:30pm and a few minutes after we ordered our starters, we were told the spinach artichoke dip was sold out. We were bummed that after opening at 11am, they were sold out of that dip. The garlic rolls were made with garlic, herb butter, and parmesan. They were fresh and tasty. Instead of the artichoke dip, my brother ordered the burrata bruschetta. That bruschetta was fresh tasting and yummy. For our entree, the wife and I ordered one of their deep dish pizzas, which is considered one of their specialties. We selected the Old Town, which comes with pepperoni, mushrooms, white onions, green bell peppers, fresh garlic, and black olives. The Shop needs to be visited for its deep dish pizzas. We ordered the 9" small and it was big enough to share. It was cheesy, fresh, had an abundant amount of ingredients, and I thought the crust was delicious. That pizza was appetizing and filling. My family and I had a wonderful date day outing experiencing The Shop for the first time. I definitely want to try out their pastas, sandwiches, and their meat pizza. Hopefully they won't run out of their spinach artichoke dip the next time we visit.

We ordered ahead for pickup, using a third party food delivery app on a Saturday 30minutes before closing time so our order was completed quickly. We ordered the 1/2 lb "OG" burger and the 1/4 lb classic. Both of them came with soft brioche buns and juicy patties. It had a balanced amount of sauces and ingredients without being too overpowering. The meat tasted fresh and not overly salted. However, they are both on a pricier side for a burger that does not come with any sides. They are like fancy burgers without the fancy location. I enjoyed the OG burger's simplicity and its melted cheese but the Classic helped balancing out the greasiness with the lettuce and onions. They used thinly sliced lettuces instead of full leaves. It was before closing so the shop was quiet without music and pretty dark but we were simply ordering pickup so that was not a problem.

Service was nice though I realized I got the wrong change later on. Only by a dollar so I didn't make a big deal of it. It's young kids who work here, or at least they looked young. The restaurant itself was clean.

He had been there when he was younger, and I had been once before with my dad, so we were really looking forward to finally going together. Unfortunately, almost everything about the experience was frustrating. When we ordered, we specifically asked the employee whether two sides came with the entrees. We were told yes. Based on that information, we each selected two sides. My husband ultimately only wanted one side, so we clarified that he would just get an extra portion of the one he wanted instead. We also clearly explained our sauce preferences. I wanted mine on the side, while my husband specifically wanted his sauce cooked onto his burger. We repeated this because it was important to us. When we saw the receipt, we realized we had been charged separately for all of the sides. Our total was nearly $70 for two people who ordered burgers, a soda, and a beer. Had we been told from the beginning that the sides were not included, we absolutely would not have ordered them. My husband went back to ask about the charge and was told that the sides did not come with those particular entrees. That directly contradicted what we had been told when ordering. Unfortunately, things got even worse when our food came out. Both burgers were cold, my burger was a double when I had specifically ordered a single, and both sauces were put on the side despite us clearly explaining our preferences. My husband didn't receive his burger the way he had specifically requested either. At that point, we hadn't even taken a bite. We brought everything back to the manager and explained what had happened. I do want to make one thing VERY clear: Kristen, the manager, was absolutely wonderful. She was by far the best part of this entire experience. She was incredibly kind, understanding, professional, and genuinely tried to make the situation right. She offered to remake the food and worked with us on the refund. We ultimately decided we didn't want the food anymore after everything that had happened and just wanted to leave. Kristen handled that respectfully and did everything she could to help us. Unfortunately, the problems didn't end when we left. We were told the refund would take 3-5 business days. When the refund finally came through, it was approximately $15 short of what we were supposed to receive. We then had to call the restaurant again to get the issue resolved. We were also still charged the tip, despite the fact that we had received a full refund for the food. The restaurant then had to take the money again, process another refund, and essentially redo the transaction, which meant an even longer wait for our money. At this point, what should have been a fun dinner that we drove nearly an hour for turned into an incredibly frustrating experience involving multiple billing issues, incorrect food, cold food, and several phone calls just to get the refund corrected. The only reason I am giving any credit at all is because of Kristen. She was genuinely amazing and I don't think this review reflects her management at all. She was the one person who made an otherwise terrible experience slightly better. Unfortunately, because of everything that happened before and after dealing with her, we will not be returning. If you're going to charge these prices, the ordering process, food, and billing need to be significantly more accurate and consistent.
