Came for the lunch buffet salad and pizza. They have it Monday-Friday from 11-2. For $18 bucks it's not bad. It also comes with a drink. While the owner claims that his intent was to resolve my issue promptly and ensure I left satisfied, that simply was not the reality of my experience. The central issue here is that the conditions on the remake pizza--specifically, limits or extra charges for certain toppings--were never disclosed to me upfront. When I called to redeem the pizza credit, I ordered as I was told previously: "a pizza however I want it." No one communicated any restrictions or policy at the time of my call. It was only after I placed my order and was already en route to the restaurant (within the window my pizza should have been ready) that Ali called and informed me there would be extra charges based on the toppings and original purchase price. At that point, the owner was unwilling to recognize the lack of clarity or just honor the remake as a goodwill gesture for a returning customer. Instead, he held firm, effectively holding my family's dinner hostage while I had to choose between capitulating to his new conditions or prolonging the process and delaying our meal. The longer I argued, the longer my pizza wasn't being made, leaving my family waiting hungry at home. Ali's claim that the credits are supposed to match the value of the original purchase, or that further toppings would incur extra charges "especially when the initial purchase was at a significant discount," was never mentioned or explained to me at the time of credit nor at the time of reorder. I was specifically told I could order "a pizza however I want it"--if this store has limits, it is their responsibility to clearly communicate that upfront. If managers are unaware, that is an issue of poor training and procedures. To summarize: This experience was not one of prompt resolution or customer satisfaction. The first time, they forgot the pepperoni and mini pepperoni. I called back and the then-manager apologized and credited my account for a free pizza. The next order was correct, so I thought that was it. But then they completely got my pizza wrong a second time -- instead of the chicken and garlic gourmet, I received a veggie delight. When I called again, the manager said I had a credit for a pizza and could order whatever I wanted to compensate for the inconvenience. Important to note, there was no mention I had to reorder the pizza exactly the same way, or that I'd be charged for additional toppings. Today, I called and spoke with Eric. He confirmed I had a pizza credit on my account. I ordered a pizza similar to what I wanted before, but this time added double pepperoni and onions. Eric said it would be ready in 15-20 minutes, so I left right at the 15-minute mark since it takes about 5 minutes to get there. While I was driving, I got a call from Ali, the manager/owner. He told me that I'd ordered too many extra toppings and that I'd have to pay for the extras, otherwise he would make the pizza how I ordered it originally. This turned me from a happy customer into a very frustrated one. I told him I'd talk to him when I arrived, but now instead of having my pizza ready upon arrival, I had to wait for them to remake it based on his decisions. Nobody told me the remake pizza credit had conditions. It made the owner look so cheap, that he was willing to lose a loyal customer over two extra toppings. He even tried to argue that since my original order was on a 50% off Monday deal, the value of that pizza isn't the same as ordering it full price now--and that this mattered, which it absolutely shouldn't. I told him to just make the pizza the way I originally ordered it. After Ali left, the front cashier Barron, a high school kid, apologized profusely and even offered me a drink while I waited for my pizza. Honestly, even a high schooler has better customer service skills than this adult manager. Pathetic. Yelp has this Round Table Pizza location rated with 3 stars, which makes sense. It clearly survives based on the quality of the pizza, but definitely not on the poor customer service of the owner. read more

Was craving a pie today and decided to give this place a try. Their all-you-can-eat pizza/salad lunch buffet for adults is $14.75. Seniors pay less. The salad spread isn't very big but it's sufficient. The pizza counter isn't big but they pack in about 6 pizzas on that counter and replenishes it with different pizzas when one runs low. Fountain erinks come with the meal. I think this place does a decent job though I would've preferred a thinner base. read more

I think a good gauge to find out if someone is from San Diego or not is to ask them what they think about Round Table Pizza. If they rave about it, they're a San Diegan. If they do anything less than rave about it, they're likely not from here. This place is in my blood! It was the pizza served at my high school for lunch where you could get a personal pizza for five bucks and it's continued to have a big ol' chunk of my heart ever since... this location especially. Here you'll find a bunch of beers on tap for you to scan and pour yourself while your munchkins play in the arcade. The pizza isn't cheap but once you have one bite of the King Arthur's Special, you'll know why. It's what the Costco supreme pizza aspires to be. It's hearty and absolutely loaded with toppings. The good news is that Monday through Friday they have an all you can eat pizza and salad bar buffet that runs about sixteen bucks or so. The buffet has a good selection including some specialty pies like Hawaiian mixed in with your basics. Round Table is something special and I'm so glad to see that they're sticking around while the big guys continue to get bigger and bigger with their insanely cheap deals. This is the best Round Table I've been to in the county, and is refreshing to see the owner not cut corners (old lettuce/toppings, bad hires), and instead invest and understand the value of repeat business -- there are two round tables closer to me, but I drive the 20-25 minutes just to eat at this spot. Yes pineapple belongs on pizza lol. I love round table. My parents always bring me to the one in Escondido so it was nice to checkout another location. The interior is very modern. We don't have these in Arizona, so whenever we travel back to CA, we usually try to hit up a Round Table. Its expensive, but the quality is great, and the taste always brings back good memories. We went to this one in Rancho Bernardo because they had a buffet. 2 adults and 2 kids came out to $49 even. It includes a drink. They had about 5 different pizzas available when we arrived, as well as a salad bar, breadsticks, and dessert breadsticks. Everything was delicious! I had probably 5 slices of King Arthurs Supreme, and some other slices as well. Pizza was hot, fresh, and tasty! They have a freestyle soda machine, so that was cool. The service here was not good. My husband ordered a pan (deep dish) pepperoni and jalapeno pizza. He asked for a small without realizing that the pan crust wasn't an option for the small pizzas. The guy taking our order (who looked like the manager) didn't say anything. We didn't realize until the pizza came to our table and we asked the girl bringing it over f it was a pan crust. She took the pizza back to the kitchen and then brought it back and said they couldn't make a small in pan crust- only karge. Why did the order taker guy tell us this?!?! We would've ordered the large pizza! The pizza was fine but not what my husband wanted. We ordered pizza and wings from here last night for delivery, and I was clearly impressed enough to write a review for a pizza place :) We got a large King Arthur pizza, and my husband and I thought it tasted great. Lots of toppings all over the pizza, and we appreciated that they didn't skimp out like a lot of other places do! Every bite had a generous portion of meat and veggies! What I really appreciated was that they provided paper plates and cheese/red pepper chili flakes without us having to ask. Super pro move in winning our business. Who doesn't want to enjoy a night of just eating and not having to wash dishes? Haha but seriously that was a very thoughtful touch. We ordered the Buffalo and Parmesan garlic wings. I do wish my Parmesan garlic wings were more saucy (like the Buffalo wings). I prefer them to be actually coated in a garlic & Parmesan sauce, rather than a dry rub of garlic with a sprinkle of parm. Family buffet night is pathetic. Pizzas may sit out too long and once a family or two come through the buffet area sits empty for far too long. Also there is no variety in the pizzas. The manager is not very nice about the experience, falsely claiming that the pizzas are coming out at a normal pace. If he offers you a refund, make sure you keep your receipt! Otherwise, you get nothing back. Also the pinball machines are rigged. This restaurant is a Rancho Bernardo institution. Kids have had a blast at this Round Table and years later have brought their own kids here. There's video games for the kids, and beer for the adults. Beyond that, this restaurant offers a lunchtime BUFFET at around $14, which includes a salad bar, pizza, garlic knots, cinnamon twirls, and drink. Meat lovers - Good, per my husband. Online order experience - Effective. No problems with using their site to order. Wait time - Much improved compared to our last visit. We received a text that our order was ready ahead of expected. Quality:Price - It's OK. This is not the cheapest pizza around (nor the most expensive). The quality usually measures up to the price. My husband seems to like their pizza more than I expected. Take out experience - Pick up is not efficient. They don't have a designated area for pick up orders. You have to get in line at the register, which can involve quite a wait (as it did tonight). Not the end of the world but is definitely an area for improvement. Ye Olde Round Table, not great yet not total cow dung. We have a large picky family (some who are retirees whom live in the nearby shopping complex). and one thing we can all agree on is we like that there's a few games for the kids (albeit horrible prizes), there's also a salad bar, and most important plenty of beer to choose from. It's all we really need, not fancy but does the job. We have reserved the back game room a number of times for birthdays and we have always had a super low key time.
