I ordered my food on Uber Eats. When it arrived, it was very good. We got pizza and a salad, but what I was disappointed to see was my beverage for my son. It was a standard cup with no sticker, closing the item. Basically anybody could've picked up this item from the restaurant and opened the lid. This place has such good food and we truly love coming here, which is why this experience was so disappointing. Driving all the way from Avondale to Scottsdale just to see only 1-2 servers on the floor was frustrating. We waited for our server while she was still greeting multiple tables that arrived before us, and after sitting there for quite a while we eventually decided to leave the dining area and order takeout instead just so my son could still get his favorite pasta. To make things worse, the kids pasta was charged as an adult portion, and when we explained the situation to the manager and let her know why we were leaving, there wasn't even an apology or any attempt to make things right. We've been loyal customers for many years, and it's honestly sad to see the experience continue going downhill because CPK has so much potential. We order the same thing every time from this restaurant, packed as an Uber eats order, but I pick it up myself. Usually the food is fabulous and my wife's chopped salad was perfectly fine. However, my chicken piccata, was lacking in flavor, both the chicken and the sauce. And, as I was leaving the restaurant, I specifically asked if the preparer had put bread in the bag and he told me he did. However, when I got my order home, there was no bread. I was not happy with California pizza kitchen last night. I ordered takeout through delivery app. I ordered the shrimp scampi with zucchini and I got absolutely no zucchini.. the zucchini is what makes that dish so I was really disappointed and also a little bit disgusted. I called the host desk and I issued a complaint right away about it. The problem with Uber Eats is they will not any longer reimburse people for dishes.. What Uber Eats will respond the restaurant has the right to make the dish the way they want it made so we're not going to reimburse you. So be really careful using Uber Eats going forward. Uber Eats has also canceled his phone number so the only way to deal with them is through chat. read more

It's been a while since we ate here, we came for lunch yesterday and were so pleased. Good service. We shared the Sicilian pizza (it's spicy and get the thin crust, it's crisp but still has nice chew), tried the new Crispy Chinese dumpling salad (also spicy with chili crisp) and so good, and the new Churro Swirl dessert was delicious and cooling. I am an iced tea snob and their mango passionfruit iced tea is subtle but great! Get one to take home. And impressed with the ladies room, immaculate and smelled really clean. We've followed him from Chandler to Tempe, Biltmore, and now Scottsdale -- 40 minutes from our house -- because his service is that good. Always hot, fresh food and the best dining experience every time. CPK, you're lucky to have him! We've been eating at California Pizza Kitchen since 2015, and it's one of our favorite spots for both family dinners and date nights. Over the years, we've followed one incredible server -- Henry -- from location to location because he truly makes the experience exceptional. We first met Henry when Chandler Mall CPK closed, and we started going to Tempe Marketplace. From that moment on, he's been the reason we keep coming back. His attention to detail, genuine care, and the way he remembers exactly what we like (and how we like it!) is unmatched. When Tempe Marketplace closed, we followed Henry to Biltmore... and when Biltmore closed, we drove to Scottsdale -- which is 40 minutes from our home -- just so we could keep enjoying his amazing service. This is the last California Pizza Kitchen left in Arizona. I've been to them all from Chandler, Desert Ridge, Biltmore Fashion Square, Sedona. Our first experience was in California. Luckily this Scottsdale location will be opened at least 8 more years thanks to a lease. Woot woot. I still have my California Pizza Kitchen cook books. Great memories and food. Fresh with unique toppings. I had to stop by while in the area for a Chopped chicken BBQ salad. Oh it was so good. Just as good as over 30 years ago. There aren't many businesses that that offer a salad as a meal that actually fills you up like CPK. The flavors of the dressing and BBQ sauce make it so yummy. I called my order in. It was ready in lightening speed. Karissa helped me when I arrived. She was so sweet. She seems to enjoy CPK as much as I do. They are refreshing the menu next month (March 2025) and bringing back the Waldorf salad! Great experience and salad. I hope we will always have a location here in Arizona. read more

Ack! I should have known now looking at these reviews. We had the worst experience here - all around. Walking in it felt like a low budget Dennys or IHOP. Charmless ambiance with an overpowering aroma of cleaner. Come to think of it, we couldn't smell any food - or taste any food the whole time we were here. We ordered two appetizers and a salad. The dumplings came out cold. Cold chicken on the inside! Manager was not apologetic or eager to make us happy - he simply shared they were cooked fresh daily but then microwaved to order. He offered to bring out another but genuinely didn't handle it great. He was overwhelmed and not seemingly into making the customer experience great. The manager should have taken the dumplings off our bill entirely. The server was overwhelmed and working all over the restaurant - also bartending behind the bar (oh, and we hated sitting next to the noisy kitchen too). The overly cheesy egg rolls were so yucky. Everything seemed made of plastic or something. Gross. We were overcharged $30 and when I asked for an itemized receipt they brought a new one (after way too long waiting and watching the manager and server talk and seemingly agree there were mistakes). More than 5 minutes later (we were SO ready to leave, and thirst because no one ever refilled our water) the server came back with an itemized bill. I asked why there was sangria on it (we drank water!). She blamed a new system they were having trouble with. Dear lord! At this point I shouldn't have had a bill at all. This was hands down the worst dining experience ever. We moved from California where the CPK is a treasured spot; standards are met and it's FUN; while it's not a totally upscale spot, it's nice, reliable and tasty. I went here for my birthday dinner back in June 2025. I absolutely love CPK! Everything is ALWAYS perfect! I always come back for the mushroom/pepperoni & sausage pizza! What a terrible experience. Maybe they were having an off day. Our server was also tasked with working take out. We ordered drinks and eventually had to ask her to go get them. They were sitting on the bar in excess of 10 minutes. We had to ask if we could order. Drinks were completely empty. The manager, who was apparently on break when we got there, came out and was helping but was so loud and unprofessional. The host that greeted us was apparently new and hands down the best interaction we had. The other host who was "training" him just stood around talking to the bar staff and doing nothing. We had to ask for someone to get the bread and appetizer plates out of the way to make room for our dinner entrees. My entree was barely warm. I should note it was NOT busy in there. My husband and I used to go to California pizza kitchen all the time with our daughter! We had one in Dallas where we used to live and one in Tucson, where we currently live and both closed. They shut down during 'fake' Covid. Anyway, we used to love the barbecue chicken pizza, the bbq chicken salad, the split pea soup, and the Kung pow chicken spaghetti and the macaroni and cheese pasta. Well tonight, while visiting Scottsdale we visited this location in Scottsdale and it did not disappoint. We ordered all of our favorite dishes including the split pea soup and they were all really good! Even the bread! We also ordered & walked out with the chimichurri ice cream dessert. The food manager, a young Hispanic woman was amazing! The pizza maker, both were Very hard workers and the female manager well she knew the menu and the company, by heart. We walked out with a bill that was as much as if we bought one item each at Houstons or white chocolate and we got three items each a desert and alcoholic drinks! and we brought items home for tomorrow. I thought I would give this place another try after like 8 years. Big mistake!!!!! I ordered the mushroom pizza, it had actual dirt attached to the mushrooms on the pizza. That's rt dirt from where the mushrooms grew out of the soil. And not just small pieces . Large chucks attached to the mushrooms.The restaurant could care less. They tried to offer me free food. No thanks, I won't never eat their food again. Disgusting!!! They sent me to their legal department. I used to live in California and enjoyed their location in Encinitas(northern San Diego suburb). I also really liked the CPK at the Biltmore Mall in East Phoenix. When I walked into this one, I was very impressed with the upscale atmosphere, comfortable seating, cleanliness and spaciousness. Service was outstanding from the GM and server Lindsay. The place is run very smoothly with a nice relaxed upscale atmosphere with prices lower than you'd expect. Even though they're famous for pizza, I thought the full size Mediterranean Salad was outstanding-very fresh, nicely chilled with alot of tomatoes, olives, feta cheese and great dressing-I like it wasn't too strong and enhanced the natural flavors of the ingredients. I had "The Sicilian" which was delicious and had alot of meat. They're located on Scottsdale road a few blocks south of Shea. read more
