The restaurant starts you off with warm rolls and honey cinnamon butter, which were absolutely delicious. The rolls were soft and warm, and the butter had a great cinnamon flavor. I couldn't really taste the honey, but overall it was still amazing. We ordered the Texas Size Combos: one with sirloin and ribs served with loaded potato and corn, and another with sirloin and grilled chicken served with corn and mac and cheese. Both sirloins were juicy, tender, and cooked medium well. The ribs were incredibly tender -- the meat easily fell off the bone and tasted delicious. The loaded potato was okay, just a little dry for my taste. The corn was sweet, juicy, and flavorful. The mac and cheese was also a little dry, but it still had good flavor overall. Texas Roadhouse is by far the best "bang for the buck" when it comes to a high quality steak dinner in the Valley. There is absolutely no reason to burn your dollars at places like Morton's when the steaks here are just a good for much lower prices. My wife and I have paid several visits to this location and have never been disappointed. And I'm not even a big steak eater like my wife is - but that's OK, because Texas Roadhouse has several chicken, shrimp and other offerings for me. And there is also a wide variety of choices when it comes to side dishes. The place can be noisy and crowded and is best visited during off-hours when it is not as busy - but in any case is always worth it. My neighbors are big fans, and they can use a chauffeur these days, so we go every few months. It may not be Scottsdale's typical "elevated fine dining experience", but it IS: Consistently good food, truly kind and patient servers, and good value for the money considering the price of beef these days. Three of us had dinner for around $100, including Prime Rib, a New York Strip, and a ground steak burger ... and there were a couple of cocktails in there, too! The restaurant staff probably can't do anything about the sheer noise volume of the place when it's full, but it does get hard to hear each other talk by 5:30 or 6 pm. I always have a good experience here. The service is friendly, the atmosphere is lively, and the food consistently comes out hot and fresh. The rolls are always a favorite. My favorite dish here aside from the prime rib--is the grilled pork chops. They're really flavorful and always cooked well. They also have an Early Dine menu that's a great deal for $13.99 if you're dining before 5:30, which makes it an even better value. I also had a margarita special with an extra kicker shot of Patron, and it was a great frozen margarita for $7. We flew into Scottsdale from Seattle for a week-long vacation and were thrilled to find a Texas Roadhouse right down the street from our resort. Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to expectations.The start was promising. The wait time was reasonable, and we had a sweet hostess who seated us and brought out fresh bread. However, it took 15 minutes for our server to first greet us. We understood they were busy, so we proactively ordered our drinks and dinner at the same time.From there, service took a dive:The Bread: My wife asked for more bread. The server promised it right away, but it took another 10 minutes and arrived just seconds before our dinner.The Order Error: My daughter ordered a 6 oz sirloin with veggies, but was served a steak and ribs combo. When I corrected the server, he just said, "I must have heard wrong."The Disappearance: After that, our server vanished. Our drinks ran completely empty and stayed that way.Tired after a long day of flying, I finally flagged down a different, very polite server who grabbed the manager. The manager was apologetic, stating this doesn't represent their standards. He removed the incorrect ribs from the bill and promised a voucher for a future visit--which we never actually received. I came in tonight on 7/17 and I had an amazing waitress, and my food was about an 8/10. However, as I'm sitting here the manager, Jimmy, has yelled at multiple of the employees in front of many tables including myself. At one point he was talking to one of the servers who's jacket had came off her shoulder and he said "pull your sweatshirt up you're not gonna get tips like that" in front of at least 5 tables. Also, the table next to me had asked a server for a side of ranch and he came over and told the server to start running food. I find this behavior extremely inappropriate especially in the middle of the restaurant. It is embarrassing for the employees and put my date and I in an awkward situation. read more

We arrived right after opening. The service immediately was great, they walked us straight to our table. Our server was great! He kept our drinks full and stayed on top of everything! The food was so so so good! All I wanted for my birthday was to go to lunch at Texas Roadhouse! It was amazing! My fiancé got the critters and ribs and I slated for the filet and ribs! The ribs were DELICIOUS! Truly fall apart ribs! The loaded mashed potatoes were scrumptious! The mac and cheese wasn't our favorite, it needed like a breaded topping and more cheese. This was my first time to Texas Roadhouse and honestly I have to say the food is amazing for the price. Our server was very nice and the restaurant was lively and fully of people. The only reason I am not leaving 1 star. With that being said, I have never met more rude hosts in my life. I was given a wait of 25-35 mins, and I checked back in with the hostess for an update about 15 mins later because we were planning on heading to Starbucks's for a drink while we waited. Her exact words accompanied by an attitude and nasty look: "Yaaaaaa I put your name down and told you 35 mins and that was only 10 mins ago. So you still have to wait another 20-30 mins." Other hostesses stood behind her rudely looking at me as well. Wow! I was simply asking for an update, not to be seated immediately. So we proceeded to wait at Starbucks, and almost 45 mins to an hour later we walk back to the restaurant with no text update. I tell the host I still have not received a text, and without an apology and with the same rude attitude tells us to wait on the side to be seated. I was a host myself for years and this is just unacceptable. We were clearly forgotten, as the wait ended up being double what she claimed. I am assuming they purposefully took us off the list. Train your hosts so it doesn't leave a bad taste in people mouths before they even start eating! read more

I've been hitting up this location for the past few days at The Block in Scottsdale, near Via de Ventura and loop 101. I usually sit at the bar and have received great service from Alex, Karen and Mike. I usually start off with a tall Stella and then move on to the Dallas Filet (med rare), a house salad and the buttered corn. Everything has been just outsanding. Maybe the worst experience I've had. The Dr.Pepper & Sprite had no syrup, all carbonation, asked for replacement & it was the same. Chunks in the ranch dressing, took 5 minutes to get a replacement, no manager or discount for a LARGE CHUNK of unknown in the ranch dressing, just a different bowl of ranch as if it was standard. 2 of us ordered sides of onions, 1 of us received a bowl of onions, the other got about half the amount on the plate. The side of "mushrooms" [charcoal brickets] was the same, there were few (thankfully because they were gross). The mushrooms tasted as if they were cooked on the charcoal, horrible flavor & gritty! The cowboy ribeye was absolutely the worst "steak" I've had. Flavorless, fatty & poorly cooked. The fried chicken was tough & tasted like "fake" meat, like a pressed chicken patty from chicken parts, the gravy was terrible, cold & made from a powder or can. We had dinner here because my friend from Indiana loves this place. The restaurant sits alongside White Castle off 101/Via DeVentura. We sat at the bar. The waitress was quick to take our drink orders. Their hot dinner rolls and cinnamon butter are so tasty. I ordered the grilled shrimp app with lemon butter pepper sauce. O it came on 2 toasted 1/2 grilled rolls. Great seasoning to the shrimp. My friend ordered the 16oz ribeye (mid-rare) with side salad & baked potato. Their ranch is to die for. So creamy & flavorful. My family and I recently stopped in this week to grab some dinner with friends. While we were there, we enjoyed some Caesar salad appetizers that were fantastic along with the bread rolls. A perfect combo of healthy and savory. The service was super quick this evening as well. We've been in here a few times over the years and we always have a pleasant experience. The staff here are fantastic and the ambience of the restaurant are great. This evening I ordered the nine piece grilled shrimp. This meal is my favorite because you get the best of both worlds with the shrimp and rice bed. I love the sweet and garlicky flavors of the sauce it comes with. This is definitely my favorite meal on the menu. It's lighter so you don't feel so heavy after eating. My family also ordered the sirloins and sides of baked potatoes along with buttered corn. They enjoyed their steaks and baked potatoes and wanted to let everyone know that they have never had a bad steak here, over the many years we've been stopping by they're always grilled to the perfect temp. When it comes to chain restaurants, Texas Roadhouse is up there near the top for me. Not because I'm from Texas but because, there's a lot to like. I stopped by on a Tuesday for dinner. It's a large restaurant and they were packed but we were seated after a five minute wait. Parking was easy in their large lot. Ambiance (3.5/5): "Roadhouse" describes it nicely. A little nicely. Lots of wooden booths. I love a good booth. Your typical chain restaurant experience. Service (4.5/5): Our waitress was friendly and efficient. Which was impressive given how busy the restaurant was. The only misstep was that the hostess who brought us to our table didn't bring our complimentary rolls. I had to ask. Drinks (3/5): Not a lot to mention here as I had a sweet tea. They do have a happy hour that I noticed though. Standard drink menu. Food (4/5): Let's start off with those famous warm rolls served with cinnamon butter! Theyr'e addictive. It's a great way to start the meal. From there, I started off with the potato skins (one of my favorite appetizers) because I had a free appetizer birthday deal to redeem. These potato skins are cut a little thinner than usual but they're exactly what you want. Cheesy, gooey goodness with some sour cream to dip. From there, I had the chicken fried chicken with fries and mashed potatoes with gravy. CFC and CFS are two of my favorite Southern dishes and it's done well here. Not the best I've had but respectable. And a generous portion. I needed a to-go box. If you're looking for a solid meal at a chain restaurant, Texas Roadhouse should definitely be part of the rotation. read more

It is kind of hit or miss at Texas Roadhouse. After having a few bad experiences at different Texas Roadhouse, my wife and I took a friend there for his birthday because that was what he wanted. The place was not packed at all and the server placed us right next to the bathroom which was very festive feeling. I could understand if there were no other tables. Then the steaks were small and overcooked. I let the server know that we had a birthday and we are both Veterans. I thought he was supposed to get a desert on birthday which he didn't and looking at the receipt did not get a veterans discount. The mac and cheese was our only real disappointment -- it had a slightly dull flavor and didn't taste quite like real cheese. Jeff said they made it in house but it just didn't taste that way. My husband's mango and Tajín frozen margarita was good, though he added a Patron kicker to give it a little extra punch, just as our server had suggested. It used to be the staff would bring it out, ask you to cut into it, and verify it is cooked to your liking. They just plopped it down in front of me and walked away. It was overcooked. I tried to order it more rare but the bartender assured me that medium-rare was what I wanted. No one checked on my meal. No one offered me another drink. No one offered me more water. I would say that this is the best Texas roadhouse in the Nation from the time you walk in the door until you walk out, the staff is very friendly and welcoming. The food is very good. The steaks are cut in house daily and they are very good if you have dietary needs. The manager's always come up and ask if everything's acceptable. I also like the ambience very western with great pictures on the walls. This location was so popular they had to put an extension in a few years ago. read more

I haven't been to a TX roadhouse in over 11 years. A client gave us a gift card so we decided to try it out. It was actually surprisingly pretty good. Our waitress was super nice and gave suggestions. Everything we ordered was delicious....... (Just not the fried pickles- they were kind of thin and lame) The sirloin was perfectly cooked. Pink in the middle. The ribs were tender and just fell off the bone. The wings and rattlesnake bites were so good, obviously because we were fighting over who got the last one.
