We ordered the Texas Size Combos: one with sirloin and ribs served with loaded potato and corn, and another with sirloin and grilled chicken served with corn and mac and cheese. Both sirloins were juicy, tender, and cooked medium well. The ribs were incredibly tender -- the meat easily fell off the bone and tasted delicious. The loaded potato was okay, just a little dry for my taste. The corn was sweet, juicy, and flavorful. The mac and cheese was also a little dry, but it still had good flavor overall. I would say that this is the best Texas roadhouse in the Nation from the time you walk in the door until you walk out, the staff is very friendly and welcoming. The food is very good. The steaks are cut in house daily and they are very good if you have dietary needs. The manager's always come up and ask if everything's acceptable. I've been hitting up this location for the past few days at The Block in Scottsdale, near Via de Ventura and loop 101. I usually sit at the bar and have received great service from Alex, Karen and Mike. Maybe the worst experience I've had. The Dr.Pepper & Sprite had no syrup, all carbonation, asked for replacement & it was the same. Chunks in the ranch dressing, took 5 minutes to get a replacement, no manager or discount for a LARGE CHUNK of unknown in the ranch dressing, just a different bowl of ranch as if it was standard. 2 of us ordered sides of onions, 1 of us received a bowl of onions, the other got about half the amount on the plate. The side of "mushrooms" [charcoal brickets] was the same, there were few (thankfully because they were gross). The mushrooms tasted as if they were cooked on the charcoal, horrible flavor & gritty! The cowboy ribeye was absolutely the worst "steak" I've had. Flavorless, fatty & poorly cooked. The fried chicken was tough & tasted like "fake" meat, like a pressed chicken patty from chicken parts, the gravy was terrible, cold & made from a powder or can. This place is pretty consistent in food quality. The service leaves something to be desired. I sat at the bar. I ordered a filet. It used to be the staff would bring it out, ask you to cut into it, and verify it is cooked to your liking. They just plopped it down in front of me and walked away. It was overcooked. I tried to order it more rare but the bartender assured me that medium-rare was what I wanted. No one checked on my meal. No one offered me another drink. No one offered me more water. The only misstep was that the hostess who brought us to our table didn't bring our complimentary rolls. I had to ask. Drinks (3/5): Not a lot to mention here as I had a sweet tea. They do have a happy hour that I noticed though. Standard drink menu. Food (4/5): Let's start off with those famous warm rolls served with cinnamon butter! Theyr'e addictive. It's a great way to start the meal. From there, I started off with the potato skins (one of my favorite appetizers) because I had a free appetizer birthday deal to redeem. These potato skins are cut a little thinner than usual but they're exactly what you want. Cheesy, gooey goodness with some sour cream to dip. From there, I had the chicken fried chicken with fries and mashed potatoes with gravy. CFC and CFS are two of my favorite Southern dishes and it's done well here. Pink in the middle. The ribs were tender and just fell off the bone. The wings and rattlesnake bites were so good, obviously because we were fighting over who got the last one. I like Texas Roadhouse. I love the atmosphere and the food. The problem that I have is with the hostess. Why is it such an issue to seat a party of nine? Why can you never accommodate them? It would help if you said that when we call ahead, but nope, you make us wait longer and then seat us separately. You have yet to seat our group together. It doesn't matter if we have 7, 8, or nine people in the group; we are never together, which has become annoying. Then you make up excuses like it's a fire hazard, yet we were at a dead end with a wheelchair. Or the staff isn't big enough to handle the tables next to each other. I wish I had taken a picture so you could see how ridiculous this last excuse was. Even the waiter was confused. But the dinner continued with us at three separate tables celebrating a birthday. Tell me how that works. We might as well eat in our own homes. ***The biggest problem of the night was that you sat a group of seven that came in after us because you asked us if we wanted the table available for eight and a wheelchair, and we said there was NO way we would fit. Those people took about 5 minutes to sit down because they couldn't fit with only 7. They were cramped in; how were we going to fit in? So we waited about 15 more minutes, and you sat us separately. Your sign clearly states that parties of eight or larger may have to wait longer to sit together and not be separated. We chose to wait but were still separated.
