My 1st time coming to this new dental office and I was blown away. From the moment I walked in I was greeted by a lovely front desk young lady. I filled out paper work and was offered some coffee. I was given a tour of the office which is probably the nicest dentist I've ever been to. The whole entire staff was nice and friendly and made sure I was taken care of. No one enjoys going to the dentist. I know my last experience kind of traumatized me and set a standard in my head that I then expected from all dentists. This is Definitely NOT the case at California Smiles. The entire staff is amazing! Not to mention the facility has some awesome amenities that take away the "typical fears" that come with Sitting and waiting for a dentist. My first visit I got X-rays with a guy named Victor. I think he could tell I was scared so he made some small talk about things we both had interest in and I almost forgot I was about to see a dentist. Then I met with the dentist himself, who was also very kind and reassuring he wouldn't hurt me, and learned I needed two teeth pulled, plus some more work. They said it would be no problem if I wanted to do some today, but my anxiety raged out of control and I turned into a 5 year old who just learned Santa wasn't real. I didn't trust anyone. I couldn't stop crying and I even made my mommy come down to the office (I'm 26, I swear) so we decided, with the help of Kelly who is such a sweet and understanding woman and victor who continued to check on me and tell me everything would be ok, that maybe we should just reschedule. So we did. Upon my second visit, I was very embarrassed about how I acted the first time but once I got there no one even mentioned it. They were all very nice and reassuring I would be ok. They answered any questions I had, the lady who did my first round of shot was sweet, gentle and very calm ( I forgot to get her name but thank you!) and the oral surgeon was also very calm and explained everything to me along the Way. Once I was done victor came back to make sure I was ok and that I understood how to take care of my extraction. I have never been to any dentist that actually cares about there clients like all of them do and how they are feeling the entire time. Learned about California Smiles - Alamitos through an employee health fair. So i though hmmm i haven't checked my teeth in a while, let me give it a try. Beautiful facility with so much amenities. Very Low key location. Love the staff. Very patient, compassionate and made sure that i was comfortable. Very generous staff that love what they do. The Hygienist made strong recommendations which were great. They pay close attention to details as well. We laughed joke and I got some cleaning and fill-ins done which ive have never done in my life. Never knew I could have this much fun at the dentist office. I decided to bite the bullet and have my old bridge replaced. Incredibly friendly staff, who is super knowledgeable. Their attention to detail is top notch and my "temporary" bridge looks 20 times better than my old bridge. Can't wait for the final/permanent in 2 weeks! So glad I found this place! SERIOUSLY, wow! I'm the worst when it comes to seeing a dentist, and this is because I had a bad experience with braces as a teenager but thanks to California Smiles, I will be coming back as often as I need to without a fight. The staff makes you feel so welcomed and at ease about your visit. I've always been the type to get sweaty palms and the dental assistance always had to drag me into the chair. But not anymore! I've neverrrr felt so comfortable and calm when seeing a dentist before. They have an awesome zen room (and arcade space if you have kids too!) The office is clean and fun; and the staff will answer any question you have. I've already recommended a few friends to visit who also had amazing experiences as well. Keep up the great work guys! I have been to a number of good dentist offices- but California Smiles makes the cross from good to great!! The reason(s): Tchala and the team are an extremely FRIENDLY and personable staff (I.e.- CUSTOMER SERVICE which seems like a foreign concept to some companies but makes a huuuge impression on clients); Zen room (I believe they have stepped into a whole other realm with this idea!! Love it); Movie Room, Teen Room and Tot Land. Free coffee/tea/water and juice boxes/snacks make this place a HAVEN of your having dental work or just a general cleaning done. Office is suuuuper clean and has a beachy/Polynesian//Caribbean vibe. My tween daughter- who hates the dentist- asked how quickly we could come back. I highly recommend!!!! I was at the dentist about six months ago and was told I had no cavities and that I was good to go. I changed insurance and tried this dentist and they tried to tell me I had like 17 cavities and all kinds of work needed to be done (insurance gouging). I thought there report was highly exaggerated in an attempt to make money from insurance and get high copays. read more

To start off , I have terrible anxiety when it comes to seeing a dentist! But who doesn't? Its not exactly a walk in the park . Until I came to California smiles. They made me feel welcomed and comfortable literally as soon as I stepped foot in the door. When you walk in the ambiance of the place is beautiful. Comfortable seats , complimentary drinks and snacks, and that's just the tip of the iceberg! If there's an art to making someone feel completely comfortable and safe outside their own home, Micheal has mastered that. Relax in the Zen room and get a massage or catch a movie while you wait ! Plenty of entertainment for kids and teens. I could honestly go on and on about this place . I practically want to move in lol .But the best quality to this dentist office is the staff. Honestly the most caring , empathetic group of people I've ever encountered. I was there last night and it was one of the greatest experiences I've had at a dental office ! I was treated very valued. The staff is amazing and very helpful and nice . They seem happy to be there :) With my son's interaction (3 years old) they allowed him to test the materials they would be using to check and clean his teeth this allowed him not to be afraid and be confident while having his check up! I'm very pleased with the ability of finding a new dentist place . They are very consistent ! Let's not talk about the different rooms you are able to wait in instead of sitting around the waiting area doing nothing ! They have a kids corner - with different activities for the little ones, a teen center with pacman game, and television, a massage room (the massage the chairs give is very detailed and amazing), and a theater room with recline chairs to relax and enjoy the show ! It's just a magnificent experience . I was the last customer last night and they were very please to help with all procedures without the intentions of just helping me in and out ! I've been to enough dental offices to know when you're in one. But at California Smiles your traditional notions of what a dental office looks, feels, and even smells like go completely out the window along with the fear and anxiety of being at the dentist. If you're a parent with small children, they have a daycare for them. They have an arcade with relevant fun games and classics too. The theater room is extremely comfortable, dark, and has a huge tv playing blockbusters all day long. Free GOOD coffee, tea, water, snacks!!! To top it all off there is a zen room with comfortable recliners with Brookstone massagers, topped off with calm and serene sounds. And the prices are phenomenal. If you're terrified of the dentist, ask for Michael. He is a wonderful person and will put your mind at ease. I haven't even begun to tell you the great dental work that they do here. This place is amazing. It should be categorized as a dental spa. They are all about catering to you. I am a huge baby when it comes to going to the dentist but Dr. Toledo was great. She was so gentle and reassuring. Really made the trip more comfortable. Speaking of comfort, they have a massage chair room and a theater with recliners! On top of that a gaming room and kids play room so weather you are going by yourself or with family they seem to cater to everyone. And the place is so clean, really a beautiful office they spared no expense to make their patients comfortable and happy. Just because they spared no expense doesn't mean it's now at your expense. They have lower prices than any other dentist I've ever been to. It's hard to find a place these days that's not just out to take your money but actually cares about their patients. read more

Ok so I HATE going to the dentist I mean who really enjoys it ? Well this was the best dental visit I have ever had EVER! I was greeted by the staff they told me I could wait in one of the amazing waiting rooms , Zen room has massage chairs and a amazing soothing environment , there was a theater room with a giant TV and theater chairs . A kids room and a arcade room . I mean really I could just live at this place . I actually only had a 5 min wait in the Zen room . The friendly staff took me to have X-rays . Then Michael came in to discuss what I needed done. OK so now for the part everybody hates the actual dental work . Well I got it all done in one session and the Dr was not heavy handed and very fast. I had a deep cleaning and 3 cavities :/ taken care of in one day . I hate when a dental office only does X-rays and one thing at a time for each visit . I got kids I don't have time to come back here 3 or 4 times . They also took care of my 2 girls on another visit and it went so smooth . I was worried because my 6year old had a cavity but it was easy peasy she didn't even cry . Sooo I can't say how amazing this office was the Staff and the environment get 10 stars read more
