The first time I stayed at a CA Vacation Villas property was in 2024 (LV020), and I had a wonderful experience. Based on that, I made a reservation on 4/14/25 for LV213 for the following year (4/9/26-4/13/26). The total confirmed price at booking was $1,913.40. Between August and September 2025, I was in contact with the property through the management portal and Booking.com. At no point was there any indication of pricing issues. On 11/15/25, I received an email from Booking.com stating that the property had informed them the "correct" price should be $4,464 USD -- more than double my confirmed rate. I was given 24 hours to accept this new price or my reservation would be automatically cancelled. After seven months of holding a confirmed reservation, this sudden price increase appears tied to Coachella festival dates being released. When I declined to pay the inflated rate, my reservation was cancelled and refunded without my consent. As a result, I was left without accommodations during a peak weekend and unable to secure comparable lodging at a reasonable price. I had already booked flights and rental car arrangements based on this confirmed reservation. This experience reflects a lack of consumer protection and accountability. While my first stay at Legacy Villas was positive, I cannot recommend booking with this management company due to the risk of confirmed reservations being cancelled for higher pricing opportunities. read more

I have stayed with this company many times. Recently this last 2 weeks. Starting it's poorly furnished. 1 spatula and 4 50¢ wooden spoons. I tried the dishwasher but it was full of black mold. They blacked it and we had to endure 3 days very strong bleach smell. A barstool was broken and my wife fell. She cut her elbow and as there was no first aid kit she bled on the sheets when the paper towels moved while sleeping. After all of this they reported I "trashed" the place to Airbnb. So they cancelled my next stay this week. Do not rent from this company. You've been warned. read more

This is such a beautiful hidden gem! We rented the studio upstairs in La Quinta and it was just what we needed (just two of us). The location was surrounded by huge mountains, it was clean, and the landscaping around was well taken care of. Although we booked on July 4th, it surprisingly wasn't crowded. We stayed here a few times, it's always clean and peaceful which is much needed after doing the tourist thing in the desert. One of our favorites. This room was not clean. Out of all the cockroachs we found only one was dead not all of them and , they were heavily active. Bathroom and kitchen was dirty dried food stuck to the baseboard . Hair on the sheets and hair I the shower and bathroom floor. This company put us in a dirty unit with a broken HVAC system. Then wanted us to stop our day (only there for two days) to wait for the technician to come out. This was in La Quinta where AC is vital. There was smeared sauce on the bar stools and a broken burner. Worst part was their horrific customer service. Rather than try to make this right, they blame us for their dirty unit. I would never use this company to rent a property or manage one of my properties. I will be reaching out to the owner, better business bureau and anyone considering their service. Companies like this take advantage of families who work hard and want a nice vacation. An absolute delight! The pictures don't do this home justice. It is very spacious yet cozy at the same time. Leave the living room shades open for a beautiful sunrise over the pool. My mother and I came out to the desert to relax for a few days and couldn't believe we were able to enjoy the pool in December! The neighbors were all very friendly. It was amazing to have a garage to park in. We felt so safe and at home here, I wish we could stay for weeks. The service and response on communication were also impeccable. If you are looking for a cozy weekend with a beautiful view, you should look into this condo. It is located within walking distance from a beautiful LaQuinta downtown area that reminded me of Greece architecture, and the Italian community with friendly shop owners. LaQuinta is surrounded by mountains which makes the view stunning. The condo is on the second floor with a nice good view, a fully equipped kitchen, and a spacious bedroom and bathroom. It was very convenient for our traveling but far from the busy streets. Finally, we found a few games, and books that entertained us during the evening time. We rented LV217 from 7/3-7/9. Villa was in a great location between 2 pools. Would've been perfect if property management/housekeeping took better care of property like it was their own. It became a nightmare after the 1st cockroach we found in the villa(total of 4 we saw), mice droppings and crumbs in kitchen cabinets, hair behind bathroom doors and tub also on the sheets. There was food stuck on the walls. Talk about unsanitary and cockroach infestation!!! When I complained they said they would send housekeeping to do a touch up and that there was bug spray under sink and they would send up another can of bug spray. Like this was no big deal. I don't take my family on vacation to sleep with roaches..I felt stuck like I had no choice since this was already paid for or else i would've left the first night! Housekeeping came and did a half-assed 5min job. On the 3rd day they sent someone to fumigate since I insisted but that didn't fully work cause we still got roaches. The mini fridge was broken, ac in master was locked but they did get Ac working.We slept with all the lights on hoping the roaches would stay away. Once I kept complaining they stopped responding. I had booked on booking and did my review. I kept getting messages from California vacation villas to do a review on the 12th so I responded I had and if anything they should reimburse some it not all my money since it was a horrible/uneasy stay their response was horrible I will attach in pictures and by reading other reviews California Vacation Villas employees are bullies and will block you from all their properties if you cross them with a review they don't like **attached a few pictures...Hopefully they work on there customer service read more

We loved staying at this unit. We have stayed at the villas before, but this unit was better for our family. We love all the pools and how quiet it is. We had a lovely family vacation. The kitchen has very basic stuff so if you want to really cook maybe bring some of your own stuff especially spices. The TV is not smart so you can Only watch spectrum. Not a big deal , but just giving a heads up. I know they have multiple units but this was in our unit. We definitely will return! read more

This stay was incredible. Everything about it was perfect... the location, the community, the space itself. We felt luxurious. We had friends on the resort street and I was so glad to be just removed from it. It was quiet. Finding the condo was EASY, Checkin was EASY, we had everything we needed. I'll stay here again. This is our first time staying in La Quinta and we would definitely rent here again! The condo is even more spacious than it looks in the pictures. We had a couple of small maintenance issues and management was quick to send somebody even on Thanksgiving weekend. The beds were very comfortable, there was a quality air mattress, and plenty of towels for our family of eight. The accommodations were perfect and just what we needed. At last minute we had a dog sitter conundrum, so we appreciate the property managers letting us bring our dogs as well. I highly recommend California Vacation Villas. I have booked my family of four (4) to stay at three (3) of their properties in the Legacy Villas gated community in La Quinta and each time we have had a FABULOUS time. The properties are spotless and COVID-level-cleaned. This company cares about your every need and the properties are stocked with even the little things that make a world of difference like scissors, pot holders, laundry detergent, dish soap, coffee, apron, salad bowl and tongs, and much more. You can tell that this management company really cares that their guests have an amazing time and that they are safe in a clean environment and that no detail is missed. I also want to mention how amazingly clean and fresh the linens were and how comfortable their beds were. We slept very well. Legacy Villas is a great, gated community. There are 12 pools with hot tubs and the main pool has a fountain play area for kids. There are hammocks near the main pool and I think before COVID the gym was open. There are also BBQs which are open at the pools and some properties have electric BBQs on the patio. Again, we love this property management company and they have the BEST properties that are COVID-level clean and convenient. Their staff is highly responsive and checked with us when there was the slightest concern like when we failed our access code too many times. California Vacation Villas thinks of so many details for their visitors. There is lots of family fun to be had at Legacy Villas. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! You will have a blast and be very satisfied, comfortable and safe (cleanliness and security). We were also very satisfied with the booking process. It has been simple and easy. Be VERY, VERY CAREFUL about booking anywhere through this company. If you read the reviews here and those on other platforms you'll find a common theme is that they swipe deposits and don't give customers the money that is due to be returned. That's exactly our experience: We rented a desert falls country club condo from them. We invited the cleaners in at the time of our departure, but there was almost nothing for them to do as we left the place spotless. They didn't say that there have been any issues with the place at all... They are simply holding on to our money for as long as they can - and perhaps are going to go out of business before they return anything. I expect that they could be rolling up the office carpets now and scarpering with our cash. They gave my wife an 'option' of paying an extra $40, or giving a fully refundable $500 deposit that would be 'returned when we left'. That was at the end of October. We have been trying to get our money back and it's almost Thanksgiving. Whatever you do, DO NOT give these people any money in deposit. Pay their little 'extra margin' grab of $40... Because you'll never see your $500 again. We have not, and we have spent over FIVE HOURS trying to reach them on the phone. The last time we got through, "Darlene" said she had sent the refund. What fools we were for falling for that one! It's been another week without sign of a dime. Crooks, crooks, crooks. Avoid like the plague. Or the covid. read more

Although this La Quinta resort appeared to be very nice resort, we had a terrible experience due to the incompetent and negligent service and property management by California Vacation Villas (which "manages" a very large # of condos in La Quinta and nearby towns). We arrived after dark during a cold snap to find the unit had no heat, with the thermostat indicating a heat pump failure and the AC blasting icy air. The AC could not be turned off. Calls and texts to California Vacation Villages were not responded to for hours. Finally, a nice fellow called who simply manned the phones and after a couple more hours eventually told us that nothing would be done, explaining that they have no staff on call near their properties. They would not move us to another unit, claiming (falsely) that none were available. By this time we could not find another hotel room on this busy Spring Break weekend. We had a miserable night sleeping in our winter clothes and hats and left in the morning. As we were leaving, the cleaning staff told us that they had rented the unit for what would have been our second night, even though no heat/AC repair had been scheduled. read more

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Check-in and out was super easy and clear. Our apartment was immaculate, cute and comfortable. Each set of condos has it's own pool and jacuzzi, which was a lovely bonus. And the location is absolutely perfect! Short walking distance (5 minutes) to Old Town La Quinta, which has numerous fantastic restaurants. It was only about 10 minutes to Indian Wells Tennis Garden, and 30 minutes to Palm Springs. Do NOT book with this company! They will not refund us for our trip, when the property is literally closed, due to Coronavirus. They have been non responsive and very difficult to work with. We travel to the desert quite a bit, using VRBO. I will avoid this company at all costs, when booking through HomeAway or VRBO. I never write reviews, but I can not believe how unethical they are. I don't even think it's legal for them to not refund our money, when the property is unavailable for our paid travel dates. We will be looking into taking legal action. read more

Avoid them like the plague. Everyone else's reviews pretty much sum up what your experience will be like booking with them. I booked through Orbitz and only found out they were the company who would be managing my stay after my booking. First night, the tenants in the adjoining unit tried to open my room and it scared both my son and I. The second night we leave to dinner, not realizing that there was a secondary door to access the unit that locks from the inside. When we came back at 9:30pm, we couldn't open the secondary door as it was locked from the inside. (The door is a push lock, so when it touches the wall when you open it, it locks). I called California Vacation Villas, no answer. Security on-site was of no help. The property manager let security know that the property manager suggested to give me two paper clips and open it myself. When that didn't work, he called back the property manager and he said that I needed to pay a locksmith, "since it was my fault." The security on-site was sympathetic but I could tell this wasn't the first time, and said, "I'm sorry, but this company isn't very sympathetic to these issues, they are actually the worst rental property on-site." I finally called a locksmith after being locked out, not being able to open the unit with a paperclip provided by security (I wish I was making this up), and no help from California Vacation Villas, and the property manager. Three hours later and $120 dollars that I paid to the locksmith, I was FINALLY able to access the unit and retrieve my property. Please note that the whole time I mentioned to security and the property manager that I had my crying and exhausted 7-year old and that I needed my medication for a medical condition, which they deemed wasn't an emergency to come out and open the unit. I received a call the next day that they were offering me an extended check out. No thanks! Meredith Foster, the manager eventually reached out on Monday and offered me a whopping $42 for my inconvenience. I got nothing for the locksmith because of their broken/malfunctioning door. PLEASE AT ALL COSTS AVOID THIS COMPANY. They don't care and just want to take your money. Read the reviews like I wish I would have. read more
