In October of 2023 I brought in 5 pairs of glasses for adjustments because they were too big and I couldn't wear them anymore. One pair (Burberry) I couldn't wear at all and never did not even once they were so huge and slipped right off my face. They weren't adjusted correctly at the place of purchase so I thought I'd take them to another place. One pair were stretched out from having to wearing them over a mask as work and needed a little tightening, and the others were 3 pair of sunglasses. They came out fine. I asked if they could be adjusted and the woman in the front said yes not a problem but if the frames break they weren't responsible for that. I understood and agreed. She asked me to have a seat and proceeded to take all 5 pair to the back. None of the frames broke. The sunglasses came out perfect. The Coach frames (worn over the mask) did not break either but the coating was a bit melted (blurry in one spot on each lens) and the Burberry lens coating is so completely melted that they are 100% unwearable forever. Both lenses look like spider webs. I was under the impression that she would pop the lenses out to adjust the frames and then pop them back in. That's how every optometrist office has ever done it in 25+ years that I have been wearing glasses. When I asked what happened she told me that she didn't know and to take them back to the place that I purchased them from and have them replace the lenses. The lenses were perfectly clear without blemishes when I brought them in. I did take them to the place that I bought them from but they wanted $100 each pair to replace the lenses. They informed me that the coating on the lenses had been melted during the adjustment as they had not been taken out of the frames. They told me that when adjusting that they must remove the lenses so not to damage the coating and that she clearly did not do this, but instead just stuck them into the heating element allowing the lens coating to melt. I understood that if the frames broke that it was on me. She informed me of this from the beginning. But I was also under the impression that she would be doing it correctly by removing the lenses to adjust frames and not damage the coating of the lenses like every other optometrist office has done in my past experiences. To top it all off, she absolutely knew what happened and she lied to me (I didn't know what happened, I am not the professional; but she is). When I asked what happened she said she didn't know and that I should just take them back to the original place and have them fix them. This is the part that gets me. That she couldn't just say that she messed up. PLUS that night I went to the concert of a lifetime and I could not see anything. Everything was so blurry. It was awful. She lied to my face and acted as if she didn't know that the coating was melted and that she did it because she couldn't be bothered to removed the lenses to adjust the frames. It's really a bummer. Please be careful going here. Please don't let them take your glasses to the back where you can't see what they're doing. Cutting corners by not being bothered to remove the lenses as you can see will destroy your glasses. I would have gladly paid for the service, especially to be done correctly. Please make sure you ask them to remove the lenses before heating the frames for adjustments to make sure that they are removing the lenses and not melting your coating and then claiming they don't know what you're talking about. I'm really so much moe than disappointed with this experience. So much so that it has taken me this long to write a review because she made me feel like it was my fault. I also haven't had the lenses replaced because I can't afford it. They won't replace just the lenses they want you to buy all new frames and everything after 2 years of wear at most places. Unbelievable. Be leery of this place for your own sake. Go someplace that the staff will not only do their job right but won't lie to you and make you feel like you're totally trippin. read more

I walked in this office to look at their glasses and Mayra greeted me right away. She let me look and also asked several times if I had Any questions. She helped me pick out frames I liked and gave me an appointment for the next day. I arrived and was greeted again by Mayra and she answered a few questions and gave me the details of my insurance coverage. The office is very well maintained, organized and I never have to wait long for my appointment. Very disappointed. I moved to Chino recently and found this Optometrist on Yelp. I brought my daughter to have her exam and I wish I hadn't. No one acknowledged us when we walked in so we stood there waiting to be checked in. The exam was quick. My daughter came out and was told to pick her frames. No help at all. Then she was told it would be about 2-3 weeks. That's it. No one offered any extras and the lady just started helping other patients. I've worked for an Optometrist and an Ophthalmologist so I know how it works, or how it should work anyway. After we pick up her glasses we will never do business with this office again. read more

Took 4 of my kids for eye exam the Doctor very nice and knowledgeable she explained to me and my children how tablet and video gaming to long may increase eye strain and should limit use. After that my kids chose new frames and glasses . They take almost every insurance even medi cal give them a call in advance to see if they take yours. With four kids we were in n out in about a hour. They have many frames to choose from, from affordable to high end. Turn around on glasses is pretty quick. My review is only for the optical staff in the office, I did not have any interaction with either of the doctors of the practice. I have experience as an optician for 5 years and went in with my mom today to pick up her new reading glasses. The receptionist greeted us and gave the glasses to my mom to try on, right there at the desk. Right when my mom put the glasses on, it was obvious that they needed to be adjusted for her. She told the receptionist that the glasses needed to be adjusted for her nose and behind the ears. The receptionist tried to adjust the nose pads with her hands, but couldn't get it right so she took them to the back. A man went in the back to help her adjust the glasses and when he came back out, he let me my mom try the glasses again. At this point, the glasses did not fit correctly whatsoever, they looked ridiculous. The male optician attempted to adjust the nose pads again with his hands, but nothing was working - neither staff member attempted to adjust the temples to fit my mom's ears. After a few more adjustments, it became painfully apparent to me that neither staff member knew how to adjust glasses for Asian faces. Typically, Asian faces do not have as prominent of a nose bridge so adjustments on the nose pads are needed so the frame doesn't rest on our cheeks. I told my mom to just forget it, we'll bring it home and I'll adjust them for her with the one tool I had, but I wanted her to test the prescription on her lenses. I had to ask the optician for reading material for READING glasses! I was pretty shocked that my mom wasn't offered any reading material to test out her new reading glasses. In my past experience, whenever I went in to pick up glasses, I was seated down to try out my glasses while the optician would look at the glasses on my face to determine whether or not adjustments would be needed. Here, my mother was just handed her glasses standing at the receptionist desk, nothing was offered to try out prescription, and the adjustments were SO bad. Do they even have any tools to use?! They only used their fingers to adjust the nose pads and didn't even offer to heat up and adjust the temples of the frame. After working as an optician, I couldn't even watch them adjust my mom's glasses without cringing. Both staff members were nice, but very obviously lacked the skills needed to adjust the glasses for Asian customers. I can't speak for their doctors or their adjustments for other customers, but I was very disappointed by my personal experience at this office. read more

Came in for an appointment back in May. The front desk was very welcoming and professional. I had the pleasure of seeing Dr.Chen I had my annual exam and was fitted for contact lenses. Dr. Chen was very nice and she answered all my questions. Once my exam was over Dr.Chen had the front desk give me a pair of lenses to try on and before I left she made sure nothing was irritating me and that the lenses fit well. My insurance didn't cover my contact exam so I had to pay the difference which was about 55$ for my situation . The front office let me know before I went in to get fitted and I was well aware of that as well before I went into my appointment,so that was not an issue for me. Very satisfied with their office. I have been bringing my boys and myself to this location for years and the experience I had yesterday was absolutely mind-blowing the gentleman that help me out Angel was amazing his customer service was on point very attentive informational as well as assertive he assisted me with my first initial I test and was very talkative made me feel very comfortable answered a few of the questions that I had over all he was just an amazing guy after my exam with the doctor because she is very informational very assertive as well he helped me pick out a few frames gave me his own personal opinions and made me feel like I had the perfect glasses for me he didn't try to sell me anything that was too expensive I explained to him my budget and he worked with in it made me feel really comfortable I have been bringing my boys here for years and I will continue to come and that the young lady at the front desk reception very kind and very sweet I would recommend this to my family and friends as a matter of fact my brother will be making an appointment to come visit when he's in town read more

Everyone here seemed nice but when I went to pay they told me that my insurance didn't cover an eye exam for contacts, only a normal examination. I paid the hundred or so dollars then went to another VSP optometrist center who informed me these guys were full of bologna. The other optometrist center gladly took my insurance for a contact eye exam. I don't know if it was an honest mistake or if these guys were trying to swindle me for $100. read more

My wife and I were just walking by on 11/23/13 and saw the office, we went in and realized they were very bussy, this office has way bigger selection than any other office I have been too... Even thought the three people that were working that day were each bussy with a client, they still took the time to greet my wife and I, we were there for around an hour and realized all the patients were pleased with the service, what got my attention was that everyone was treated like family and not like another sale, unfortunatly my wife is not elgible until next year (since she is the one that needs glasses and contacts) but we will definetly come here and stop going to Chino Optometry were the doctor is nice and professional but the staff is always very rude and careless about patient being satisfied... read more

I had always gotten my glasses at Dr. Jana Chen's office; even before they moved from Pipeline years ago. This office carries more glasses than the older office. The staff is always friendly and helpful in giving me ideas on what glasses look good. Especially since my prescription is high! After My visit with my optometrist I decided to take my prescription and see what other styles are in and came across this place to begin with once you walk in the staff is very polite and acknowlege you as you walk in. Now I know many of us don't like when the sales person comes over and starts hovering over you, good thing this place isn't like that and let me brows on my own with out hovering, I came across two pairs that I liked alot and was very undecided till I ask the staff for help now the young lady that help I believe her name was Maya was very help fun and when we ask the young man Angel which one look better they both agree on a Carrera frame over a Ray-Ban, Now these guys are something else that my experience was beyond excellent that I still left laughing over being spontaneous or being pain jane on the glasses I choce, I left well informed and will come back again to pick out a sunglass pair and be rad as the young man said A+ on customer service must check out this place!!!!!!! read more
