I went to inquire about pedicure pricing. The gentleman to the right of the front door was on his phone and NEVER looked up to acknowledge a new potential customer. I had to take the initiative to say HELLOOOO can you please give me pricing on your pedicures. I then ask to see the pricing list and he replied" WE DONT HSVE ONE". State board mandates you have a pricing list! He said where composing one. Huh?? You have been here for years and you don't have a pricing list? I said you no what sir it's ago have a good day and walked out. RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL and I don't recommend ! As a consumer we have options and UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICE is not one of them. Came in for a gel manicure and pedicure last night. Employees wore masks and there is sanitizer readily available. Temperature check is a must for any customer coming in. Waiting chairs are blocked off so you have to wait outside. Once they are ready for you they will bring you in. I felt very safe getting my mani/pedi. Employee who did my pedicure wore gloves and there is a barrier between her and I. They also have an array of new gel colors to choose from. They are packaged in plastic covers so they can sanitize and wipe down after each customer. Both services were done very well and I will definitely be back. Slight price increase but it seems like that at all businesses since Covid. My husband and sons get their haircuts here from time to time. They both got haircuts last night also. Decided to try this place as I was in need of a pedi and it was close to my acupuncturist. Place is not crowded on a Sunday morning which is good for me so it was a little more relaxing place than most places. I would give 2.5 stars for the pedicure treatment and polish for this visit. Polish wasn't applied neatly or evenly and noticed when I got home...also I was nipped twice. I'm not a picky person but this was a simple polish and nothing fancy so eh! They also have a minimum of $35 for credit cards, which I don't mind but do mind they charge a $1 extra for using it which isn't noted anywhere I give this place an extra star for cleanliness, having a good supply of colors and being neatly displayed on the shelves. Probably the worst nail Salon I've been to in a while. My did my nails. Everything was fine until I put my left hand into the UV light and when it was almost dry there were cracks so I asked her to redo them and she had an attitude and then she cut me multiple times even after I asked her to stop and then after she "redid" my nails... but only trying to cover the cracks and after 2 hours later , I left with cracked nails and nail polish all over my hands not cleaned up! Leaving, I was opening my car door and my nail cracked off. While she was re-doing my nails she was blowing her breath with attitude and complaining saying that my nails are too long if they were too long then why did you except to do the job in the first place? I came back 1 day later to give them another chance and as soon as I sat down the same lady My had an attitude and immediately cut me on my pinky so I asked for my money back and they said they wouldn't give me my money back because the owner wasn't there. I've been to this location for many years. They are okay; nothing spectacular. Go there because they are close by to my home. Yesterday, one of the attendants' comment/request/statement really bothers me when I requested a specific attendant availability to take care my manicure. She has mentioned everybody does a good job in that place. I'm not really sure with this statement, though. I can tell there are dramas going on and do not like to be part of it! I just need a good mani/pedi services. That's all. You will be charged additional $ if you pay with CC. I forget to get cash, so, I need to pay with CC, out of sudden, the male attendant informed there is minimum charge of $15 for CC. This is odd! Never happened before... The shop is clean & looks modern. My daughter & I come here from time to time and we always have the same problem. We make appointments but they still have you wait 30 or more minutes for a manicure or pedicure. We've actually left a couple of times when the wait time was waaaaay too long with an appointment. I understand they take drop ins but why take appointments if you're not going to honor them? The staff is friendly and the location is convenient with a lot of parking around the corner at the shopping center. The prices are reasonable. We'll still come back here for those reasons alone. I work nearby and come here quite often. Here's what I know: 1) This place is crowded during peak hours so if you don't like to wait, don't come at 11am on Saturday or after work during the week. It's on the bus line between Cal State university and Chabot so lots of college age students are customers. 2) This is not a high end, wear a robe and drink cucumber water type of spa. It's a "get you in, get you out" nail joint. When I get a mani-pedi, two ladies will usually do both at the same time. Good - I'm done in 60 minutes not 2.5 hours. 3) I am the queen of ingrown toe nails and I have never, ever had a problem with their work. 4) It's clean. Technicians wear gloves and they properly sanitize tubs and equipment. I read one review where they reused a nail file. Never happened to me but why didn't she just say, "um, could you please use a new one?" 5) I do hate they charge $1 to use a credit card. Actually, I think it violates their agreement with Visa and Mastercard. I plan to rat them out if they piss me off. read more

I've been to this place 4 times in the last 2 months, and it has gotten consistently worse each visit. My first 2 times I had my gel manicure done by Kim. She is a perfectionist, I respect her craft. She noted the design I arrived with and copied it perfectly after my fill. 2nd time I got a pedicure as well. This time Kim tried to upsell me. Whatever.. The 3rd time Kim wasn't there, so I got another lady. I had to have her touch up my shape, 3 times, she had bubbles in the gel, and tried to charge me more then Kim for a weak ass job. But my pedi was cute.. Yesterday was it for me tho.. I walked in at 1, didn't leave until 4. When I entered, I asked how long. Right now they say.. where is Kim I ask, out sick they say.. in my head and I'm like it's cool ima just get the whole nail colored so She can't mess up my French. I sit down, get my fill done.. then I'm told they're gonna do my pedi before they put the polish on my nails. I'm fine with that. I sat soaking my feet for a good 45 minutes while they proceeded to take Every client that walked through the door. By the time the water was ice cold, the women who handles the cash sits down to start my pedi.. she looks at the bottom of my feet and ask if i want them scrubbed, if I do it's 5 dollars more. If I want a massage it's a dollar a minute. BITCH THIS MY 3RD PEDI WITH YALL, first time being charged extra. First time with her tho.. After soaking my feet for the better part of an hour all that dead skin was ready so I was like whatever. With all that extra time, I had my design picked out. She told me all she could do was a flower. Why have design advertised if u can't execute them. So she had the haircut girl do my design. It still sucked, but at that point it's been over 2 hours. Then I got my nails completed with no designs just a few lousy rhinestones. (I got rhinestones previousely, so I thought I knew the price) I was charged 82 damn dollars. Last time there I got French tips, with a gold line and rhinestones, and a design with rhinestones on my feet for 70. Oh yeah, and during the pedi, the bitch had the nerve to tell me I needed eyebrows too. Im not letting u near my eyebrows. I called on Monday and a gentleman answered. I scheduled an appointment with Kim - and I mentioned several times on the phone that I want the appointment with Kim - on Wednesday. Kim had did my nails once in the past, and they only lasted a week or so which sucked, but she is the only one in the East Bay so far I have found who is able to attain the shape I want. I wish there were better nails salons [fairly priced] out here. So anyways I drive 30 min to Hayward today for my appointment with Kim. I go in and they're polite, they ask me 'hello how can I help you?' I say 'hi, I have an appointment at 4 with Kim.' Them: 'Kim is not here today, she does not work on Wednesdays, never on Wednesdays.' It took everything in me not to wreak havoc in there and yell at the top of my lungs 'ARE YOU F****NG KIDDING ME'. So when I came in I had on a previous set missing about two or three nails the lady seen clearly how long I like my nails the depth of how I like my coffin shape how neat the work was done on my first set compared to how this set is...absolutely hideous they are not coffin shape they are square shape I asked for a blue powder she did the blue powder and because the way how she filed it when she did the gel polish she didn't like it so she went over to the nail polish station and picked a similar blue that ended up being purple so it does not even match the powder that she laid on my nails in the first place she puts the polish on my hands and dries them doesn't ask if I'm OK with that or not she just assumes fixing it like that was fine I ended up paying $60 for a straight shit job.... in the pictures you can see the top part of my hands the nails are purple underneath my nails are blue that was originally supposed to be the color before she decided to put nail polish over the top of them for whatever reason.. Just had the worst experience ever in a nail salon. My pedicure and nail set are horrible. My feet look like they did before I went. My nail set is extremely thick and uneven. I told the nail tech repeatedly that she needed to file them more. She didn't offer to fix my nails until I was expressing my displeasure at the counter. No thank you I have a plane to catch and you have put me in a bad mood with your horrible service. My pedicure was rushed and obviously done by a trainee who kept sticking me and telling me it's ok. So, since I'm a relatively recent resident of the East Bay, I had NO CLUE where to go to get a haircut. And, as my hair was quite a bit past my waist, and causing headaches, it was definitely time for a haircut. So, I began asking all the girls I work with where they get their hair done. The majority of them, I found out commute. All over the place... Walnut Creek, San Mateo, Fremont... and then finally, one of them mentioned a place she went to in Hayward. Yay! Since her hair always looks fabulous, I decided to take down the name of the salon (and stylist) she goes to, and made an appointment. The appointment-making process was a little difficult, just because the receptionist was difficult to understand (and had a hard time hearing) over the phone, but I was able to call in on Wednesday and make an appointment for that Friday, so that was pretty great. When I went in, I had to wait for a maximum of about ten minutes before being ushered to a chair, and immediately being greeted by the stylist I had requested (Hang). She was very sweet and friendly, and she gave me exactly what I wanted in terms of length and style... I really have nothing but great things to say about her! Call me spoiled or ignorant - which ever you prefer. Having just moved from Pleasanton I have been shopping around my new neighborhood for a nail salon. Following the fantastic yelp reviews, along the noticeable foot traffic (no pun intended) in Cali's; I gave them a try. Before I go into detail, this was the first and only time I will go there. The first impression the salon is very nice. Modern touches with clean, up to date fixtures. They take walk in's which is very nice, since I was bored on the Thursday afternoon. Originally, I was only getting a mani & pedi. They got me situated in a pedicure chair; with no instant pressure to get a better service(A plus) The woman who did my pedi was very polite; did not try to talk to me while I read my new book. The pedicure was alright, nothing I would go back for. She was clean; gloves, new scrubbie, sanitized looking tools. The lotion made me break out on my legs - which never happens. Over all, it was nice to pay someone $20(or so) for a massage my partner could have given me at home for free. On a fluke, I decided to bump my mani up to getting acrylics. She delivered exactly what I was looking for in artificial nails - rounded, thin and French tipped. I left very happy; until the next day when my nails started to lift in along the edges. They looked like I had air bubbles in them. Then I notice what Jill O. said "They do that little trick where they won't paint all the way to the cuticle so you HAVE to come back in 2 weeks to get a fill. " Well, before I hit the two week mark all my nails had come up and came off. Over all, $42 later, I can say the services are okay for emergency reasons only. This place has got to be one of the best nail salons I have ever been to. And that is pretty serious being that my mom is a manicurist/nail tech at a really ritzy place in emeryville. I try not to get my nails done from my mom because it's hard work and I don't like taking advantage of my mom like that. Anyway. They are super clean! They use all their scrubbies once, they throw then away along with their latex gloves. Their spa chairs are so relaxing. They are super fast while maintaining the same quality service they uphold. Those ladies are super nice. A Mani and pedi only cost $35! It's so cheap. I swear. The service here is excellent and the prices are super affordable. Which makes it ever better. I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a good mani and pedi at a really nice and clean place, without spending an arm and a leg. However, I would avoid Fridays and weekends. Yeah, this is a crappy nail salon, they might have updated decor straight out of a salon furnishings catalog, but it is what it is. My bestfriend has been getting her eyebrows waxed here for forever so I trusted her. I arrived and it seemed plesant, I needed a pedicure, I love pedicures. I was happy as a little clam. I turned on the massage chair which my friend informed me was brand new, and soaked my feet. Well, ten minutes later every flippin employee in this place came over to mess with the chair because I apparently had it set on a function they didnt know existed. K, thanks guys trying to relax leave my damn chair alone. I sat back and watched a girl receive a haircut, and as a hairstylist I was cringing every second. That poor girl. My pedicure was started once my friends was almost completed, which was an annoyance but they were busy, what do ya do? She started my pedicure and all was going well, until SHE SKIPPED MY FOOT MASSAGE. I thought maybe she was just going about it differently. No, she skipped my foot massage. She skipped the only reason I dont just trim and paint my toes my self. What in the hell? She then proceeded to cut one of my toenails really short and REALLY crooked. I had gone from trying to relax, to completely annoyed, to thoroughly pissed off. They get 2 stars for the other nail tech that painted a cute little butterfly on my toe. Excellent place. I can't say enough good things about the employees of Cali's Hair & Nails. So accommodating and friendly. Extremely clean and professional. I've been going to Cali's since they opened and it's obvious that they appreciate their loyal customers. I won't even bother trying another East Bay nail salon, as Cali's is the only spot I've found where the nail technicians don't rush you out of the massage chairs. They take their time making sure they do a good job and they even do (relatively) long massages (My favorite perk!). On another note, I bring my seven year old daughter in there all the time and they happily paint her nails, too (Of course I pay for this service). My daughter, though, is very well-behaved and not one of those kids who runs around the place. If you have one of THOSE kids, please leave them at home. ;) read more

I had a gift certificate for Cali's ages ago, and finally decided to go. The facility is very clean and modern, and all the employees were friendly. Amy, the nail technician working on me, was very thorough and gave me the best arm/hand massage I've ever received at a nail salon. It was practically worth it for just the massage! It's been three days and my nails look virtually as good as they did when I walked out of the place. Bonus: In addition to the standard generic nail salon polish brand, they carry Essie and OPI. Oh, and pricing is ridiculously low. It's by no means an upscale salon/spa, but for what you pay, it can't be beat. read more

The facility is pretty nice looking and the pedicure chairs there look pretty comfortable and clean but I can't really write a review about the pedi because I didn't get one but I think I would come back to get one here. The lady who worked on my nails was really sweet and nice and took her time taking off my nails and the manicure was pretty decent, but I've been to better places. Everything was going really well till the end when she finished painting my nails she rushed me to dry them and I mean what can I do? I'm sitting here with my hands in the UV machine waiting for them to dry and I knew they weren't dry yet as she was telling me to get up. When I lived in hayward, this was my go to place for pedicures/eyebrow waxes. Pedicures are cheap so splurge and go with the sea salt scrub. It's worth it!! They do a really good job, definitely not one of those places that wants you in and and out without giving you a massage or even scrubbing the bottom of your foot. The ladies there are really nice, they always made conversation with my mom and I. I got my eyebrows done there a few times too, they do a really good job and really listen when you tell them what you want. I came to this salon and requested for ash blonde hair. I selected the color from an in-store color palette and the young lady left to go purchase that color. She returned over an hour later and began my hair. She spent 3 hours processing my color and came nowhere near what I had asked for. She charged me very high prices I had to return for a second treatment to try to fix my color and was then charged again. I paid a huge amount of money and spent 6 hours of my life having this salon experiment on my hair. I will never return read more
