This was the first stop on my daughter's prom gown shopping adventure She tried on 7 different dresses and didn't choose any because none of them "sparked joy" The lady working was really pleasant considering we came in about an hour before closing time and then didn't buy anything. She seemed pretty understanding They have a layaway option if anyone needs it - the signs say 25% down but I was told 50% when I inquired

A great appreciation from one of the customer from Calista. Manalo!

Calista is a fave store of my mom's. They always have new merchandise coming in all the time. Prom dress central in the spring. I didn't know that they keep a list of dresses sold and which school it will be worn at so that duplicate dresses aren't worn and cause a potential cat fight. Lots of accessories to complete any outfit, from hats to earrings, to evening bag and shoes. Accessories need a place to be stored when not in use, and they have those, too. My very favorite thing in this store is the watermelon hat. Perfect for a summer picnic in the park. Sales associates are so friendly and helpful. They get a dressing room started for us while we peruse the sale racks.

$5.99 discounted bracelets! I love them they are so pretty!

A wonderful experience I love the accessories! So many pretty and shiny things for an affordable price. I'm not sure if she was a manager or the owner. She was such a sweetheart. She bundle my bracelet perfectly.

If you are looking for a prom dress, mother-of-the-bride gown, formal wear, or dressier clothing, then Calista is the store for you! Located in Kahala Mall, I usually only shop here when there is a sidewalk sale so I can get an extra discount on the clearance rack. You never know when a special occassion pops up, so you may as well got something you like while it's at a good price, right? I really like the Citron brand - except for the price. Ouch! It looks great, is comfortable, and is easy to care for. I can wear it to conventions or important meetings without looking too out of place. The sales people are quite helpful. One let me into a dressing room that was being used, but the customer was outside, taking her time making a decision. The other sales people have good suggestions as to how to accessorize your outfit and they have the shoes and jewelry right there to show you how it will look. So, if you have free time and want to shop in air conditioned comfort, stop by Calista - you'll probably find something you like!

Had to find a dress for my two girls for my wedding!! Looked everywhere from downtown Chinatown ward Ala Moana Center and then to kahala mall . Finally walked by and thought hmm I should just take a look as I was running out of options. And when I walked in I was surprised as to what they had ! They have a variety of little girls dresses and junior gowns to sundresses bridal gowns mother of the bride outfits and so much accessories I was BLOWN AWAY!! Staff was really helpful and I explained I have a 9 year old and a 12 year old that I wanted them in white dresses and to kinda coordinate but not look too match match look . And They delivered they had so much different looks to choose from !! I am so happy and I recommend this place to anyone having an event and needing a dress !!! Thank you staff of Calista!! You made my day special and girls looked so GORGEOUS!!

Stitching on the outside of the hem. Couldn't even match the two seams

So this is a continuation of my last review. So I get my daughter's dress back and was told that the reason the 1st alteration wasn't so good is because the seamstress that normally does the alterations had some things going on with her husband so she had her mom do the alteration instead thinking that she could do it. I was told that the seamstress has been doing this for 30 years. Well you would think if she was doing this for 30 years you would have an excellent job done. This is what it looked like after the 2nd attempt at alteration. Still crooked and the seam at the ends isn't even matched up. I guess this lady doesn't take any pride in her work. So sad. It's all about the money. And the worker had the nerve to tell me "well we did take care of it". Like it was my fault the 1st job was so junk. I shouldn't have had to have the alteration done twice to begin with!!!

I love my dress, thank you!

I'm sitting on the floor in my living room eating popcorn, still in my workout clothes, with hair color in my hair. Then my husband texts me with an invitation to the Heart Ball. I'm like WTH?! I text my girlfriends asking exactly how fancy is this event? I own $12 tube dresses, rompers, bikinis, and workout clothes.... that's it! She tells me I need to go to Calista's in Kahala. Cool, I'm in Kaimuki... perfectly convenient. When I got to the store I honestly thought this wasn't gonna be it and I would have to drive to Ala Moana and walk around to every store, then find shoes etc... what a hassle! The sales ladies are super nice and helpful. We pulled a few dresses and right away I found it! I think it was the 4th dress I tried on. I was so excited! They had shoes for me too. I got it altered, and picked it up the next day. Boom! Done! Thank you everyone at Calista... my dress was amazing and a hit!

This review is based solely on my experience with the staff during my visit today…read more I've shopped at Pink Box multiple times in the past and have never had any issues, which is why this experience was disappointing. My mom and I stopped in because she was looking for earrings. She had mentioned before that Pink Box has cute selections at reasonable prices, so we decided to browse. While she was looking at earrings and pointing out styles she liked, I was helping her look through them. For context, I don't even wear earrings since I have large gauges, so I wasn't shopping for myself in that section. Afterward, I moved over to the claw clips and was looking through some butterfly clips to see if they came in matching colors. A sales associate approached us and asked if we needed help. We politely said no thank you and continued browsing. What made us uncomfortable was that after that interaction, the employee remained very close to us and appeared to be watching us the entire time. When we moved to a different area, she followed. Whether intentional or not, it felt as though we were being monitored because she suspected we might steal something. My mom and I both noticed it, and it made the shopping experience uncomfortable. We are paying customers who have visited this store before and have never given anyone a reason to be suspicious of us. I understand that retail employees have a job to do, but there is a difference between being attentive and making customers feel like they're under surveillance. Unfortunately, because of that experience, we didn't feel welcome during our visit.

The whole store is made up of Hawaiian themed merchandise. There were jewelry, cards, body care items and tons of clothes. They have some really cute items. My friend purchased a set of plastic flower beads to string together to make a necklace. What caught my eye that I really wanted was the sunrise shell necklace. I've always wanted one. The shell has the pink and yellow colors on it to mimic the sunrise. I'm contemplating on getting it as I've wanted one for a while.

I went in and out of the dressing rooms a few times while trying on outfits, and none of them had a basket or spot for purses. Each time I had to hang my handbag on a hanger with the clothes, since I refuse to put my handbag on the dirty ground. Finally, the very last dressing room I tried did have a basket at the bottom, which was much better. The clothing and jewelry are adorable -- some even look handmade -- and I did buy a few outfits and a cute pair of earrings. Prices are on the higher side, but the pieces are unique and eye-catching, so if you're looking for something different, it might be worth it. Unfortunately, checkout brought the experience down. Since I didn't need a bag, the sales associate handed me my clothes directly, but forgot my earrings. I didn't notice until I was halfway home. I tried looking everywhere for a phone number -- Yelp, the Ala Moana directory, the internet -- and couldn't find one. The only number I found just rang with no answer. So instead of calling, I had no choice but to drive all the way back through traffic. When I arrived, the sales associate saw me, handed me the earring, and said she was "going to text me." No apology, no "sorry for the inconvenience" -- nothing. Considering they have my number from the rewards program sign-up, that was disappointing. Overall, Sugar Sugar is a cute boutique with stylish pieces, but expect boutique pricing and limited dressing room amenities. The service could use improvement, especially when mistakes happen.

Shopping in Chinatown, Honolulu, Hawaii…read more.. My mom was on the hunt for Year of the Dragon shirts for my sister in Colorado, my nephew, and my nieces. We went to Walmart, Don Quijote, Dillingham Shirt Outlet, and Maunakea Street in Chinatown. She found shirts at Jessica's Jewelryand Gifts, but she didn't get a shirt for my nephew's girlfriend. In a panic, mom called me to go back to Jessica's. They were sold out. Only XL gray shirts were left. I entered Maunakea Marketplace, where I had dropped her off the other day, but she didn't walk far enough in... to get to YaFangShi Fashion. On the day before Lunar New Year, I saw many shirts of various colors and different designs hanging outside a shop! Inside, the clothes were neatly folded, and the dresses were hanging for better viewing. OMG... It was like t-shirt heaven! The shop was called YaFangShi Fashion. The friendly owner introduced herself and said that her name was Lian and that she's been here for 24 years! I had passed by often... and even bought a lavender-colored Cony umbrella, but didn't know the name of the shop. Looking around, Lian even had dresses, tops, jackets, footwear, accessories, and pants! I got a navy blue, medium-sized Year of the Dragon shirt for my nephew's girlfriend and gave it to mom to give to her on Lunar New Year. Everyone was happy! Yay! Happy Lunar New Year of the Wood Dragon!
