This was unfortunately one of the most inauthentic Mexican restaurants I've been to. Even from the photo, the rice looks extremely bland and lacked the color and seasoning you'd expect. The refried beans didn't have any cheese, which is a classic preparation, and overall the tacos were lacking flavor. I ordered two carne asada tacos and one al pastor. The al pastor came without pineapple, and the carne asada was very dry. My friend ordered a torta, which they enjoyed. I tried a bite and thought it was better than my dish, though it had a lot of mayo. The bread was high quality, but it ended up overpowering everything else and masked the fact that the meat itself wasn't great. Overall, I was very disappointed with the food. The restaurant itself was nice, a casual sit-down spot, and the staff were very kind. Unfortunately, the food was a letdown.

Calitacos in Chandler is the real deal. Their quesabirria tacos with that consome and micheladas are hands-down the best I've had anywhere in Arizona, rich, flavorful, and made right. The vibe is chill, the staff is great been coming to this location since it opened. The food comes out hot, and every bite hits that perfect balance of cheesy, crispy, and juicy. I also recommend the Birria Fries.

This is close to my office so my team typically likes to grab tacos from here. I happen to stop by for lunch myself one day. I offered to try the margarita which I ultimately regretted it's a little too much syrup for my taste. The barría tacos have good flavor but I ultimately didn't like the consume. I would definitely return for something else.

No one wanted to eat the burritos.

Well, this has been one of the worst experiences I had with Mexican food. I ordered 2 asada burritos and a carne asada plate. The burritos definitely not good, the meat is chewy, the beans taste like they have been sitting out for too long, definitely not a good experience. The carne asada fries had so much onions with cilantro that is insane, okay Calitacos, I get it you have plenty onions and cilantro!!! The meat is chewy as well and I don't know why, but they add refried beans to them with guacamole. Like what?.... Anyways the prices are good that's for sure, but for me definitely the food is not worth it, also the horchata is okay, really sweet like some people like it. The cashier was nice and has a good customer service. The restaurant looks clean, nothing extra. I'm sorry but I am definitely not going back.

Tacos were a good size, meat was nicely seasoned, a good amount of meat per taco. Went for lunch and two tacos were pretty filling, highly recommend the birria taco. I also had a carne asada taco with melted cheese. The place was super clean and the service was friendly. Happy to know of a good taco spot on this side of town. As a real estate agent in the area, having solid spots to eat all over town is a must!

Best damm tacos ever!!!! All the girls were sweethearts and they were filled with pride knowing that they were serving the best damn tacos in Phoenix place that I ate off I was off 51st Street in Phoenix and it was delicious

    Cali burrito with birria, amazing.

Off the beaten path but people seem to find it. I came with a group of 5. I had the cali burrito with birria which was really good, way too much food. My friends all said their food was extremely dry and lacked a little flavor. Service was slow but friendly.

Good portions and good pricing. Everything my table ordered was great. I can be skeptical about certain mexican spots meat seasoning but the birria and it's consome was fire. The mango agua fresca was not my favorite but their horchata was good. Friendly staff! They earned a costumer!

    Bad service

Kid at the register refused to give me a water cup after just spending $100 on tacos. Stating they don't got any water cups, when there was legit a stack of a million cups next to him. I asked him for one of those just for water and he refused 5x. Legit just wanted some water. Terrible service especially after just spending that much money on a big order and driving for an hour.

Their food is no where near actual "cali" tacos. The tortillas and meat are so dry. The only thing good is their plain fries.

I stopped by on a Saturday night to finally check it out. As soon as I walked in, I noticed the trompo right away, which is always a good sign. I stepped up to the counter and was greeted with a warm smile from the young lady up front. After looking over the menu, I ordered two tacos de tripa and two tacos de suadero. She asked if I wanted the tripas extra crispy I said no. I also asked how they prepare the suadero since I didn't see a choricera, but she wasn't sure. When the food came out, the tripas were a letdown. The texture was off, almost like a stale chip, and they were clearly overcooked. I asked if I could swap them for something safer, so I went with asada instead, but that didn't impress either. It didn't taste very fresh. Now here's the reason you should come to Tacos Chilangos: the suadero. Even though it's not cooked the traditional way, it was absolutely delicious. Perfect meat-to-fat ratio, super flavorful, and easily the standout. The guacamole salsa was top tier. I kept going back to that one over the others. All in all definitely stop by to try the suadero as for as the other two I'd would probably give them a second try.

I would say inside is similar to a Filiberto's, but I don't really care as long as the food is good. I'm a big taco fan and the tacos here are just ok. (Pastor way too salty, asada seemed blah, but suadero was good) I did make a lil drive to come out here but probably wouldn't do it again unless I'm just in the area. If o had to compare, I would say taco boys, ta carbon and tacos calafia are well above this spot. Good visit though and really just stopped to try.

The best part? Their carne asada is ACTUALLY grilled outside over the fire, and that smoky flavor makes a huge difference. They also have a great salsa bar with plenty of toppings, chiles, cucumbers, lime, cilantro... basically everything you need to build your perfect taco and test your salsa tolerance. Nobody, at least nobody alive, was on the premises, from my vantage point. Two buildings lay before me, both of which looked dark. Dusty railway cars on the track across the street. Is that where they would find my body, inside one of those, with the others? But, as I walked closer the scent of taco meat simmering, grilling and sizzling overtook my stupid fear. Tacos have never steered me wrong. Taco makers have always been some of my favorite people. Once that scent made me realize that I wasn't about to walk up on a crime scene and be the next victim, I happily opened the door. No customers but a young alive girl was behind the counter. Happy colors, neon, seriously the best salsa bar I have ever come across - they even had homemade, warm salsa macha on the side and everything else was cold and fresh because the condiments are covered in a literal steel trap to keep everything clean and sanitary. I had ordered my meal to go, and people started rolling up as I was leaving so I guess the party was about to start without me. Then I got my tacos home!! Exclamation point because they deserve it. I ordered two queso tacos that, of course, came with consumme. My eyes rolled back in my head when I took the first bite. The beef was juicy, flavorful, tender and the consumme complimented it beautifully. And when have ever been treated to so much cheese in a queso taco? Never. And the good, thick Mexican cheese, melted and abundant. Not some tasteless, cheap, inconsequential slop. My only regret? I live 10 miles away up a mountain and I couldn't run right back and order one more queso taco! I was literally starving for one more. So, I made some poverty nachos - cheap tortilla chips with cheddar melted on top in a microwave - and dipped them in the consumme. Well, actually I had another regret: I wasn't able to wash it all down with a Jamaica because they either ran out or didn't make it that today. I just know it would have been homemade and good.
