Callie's is an institution in Charleston's historic district. It's VERY small, and the line can be long, but it's worth the wait. You can get single or multi-paks of biscuits, biscuit sandwiches, biscuit mixes, etc. I had a biscuit, bacon, egg and cheese. It was huge and delicious! I had a coupon for two minis, so tried the blackberry and the shortbread. Both were so light and flaky and I bought several packages of mixes to take home. It's worth the wait if there is a line!
These hot little biscuits are delicious breakfast food. Legit aroma, taste, texture is what makes these buttermilk biscuits filled with sausage patties and others filled with cheese the best around town. You can't go wrong. I highly recommend Callie's Hot Little Biscuits!
We went the day after Thanksgiving and they were giving free bags of crackers to everyone. The lady at the counter is so nice and patient, she asks everyone if they need an explanation of the menu before ordering. We got the Blackberry and Pimento cheese with Jalapenos - both were quite filling and tasty. However, if I were to go back, I would just get the Pimento cheese with Jalapenos with a side of Blackberry jam because the sweet and savory combo was better than eating either of those alone :)
When I think of the South, I think of biscuits and I knew that I had to make a quick stop at Callie's to grab a few biscuits to snack on during my trip. I wanted a mini sampler so I went for the 3 biscuits for $6 deal and tried the buttermilk, cinnamon and blackberry with honey, jam and cinnamon butter. The blackberry was the winner but the cinnamon a close second and, of course, buttermilk is always a classic. Had there been a non-pork gravy, I would have loved to try a biscuit and gravy combo as well.
Callie's Hot Little Biscuit was the second stop on my Charleston foodie tour, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. We visited the Upper King Street location, and from the moment we walked in, it felt like classic Southern comfort. The biscuits are made with just four simple ingredients, but somehow they pack in so much flavor. We tried a few things, but the standouts were the bacon, egg & cheese buttermilk biscuit sandwich and the pimento cheese biscuit--honestly, one of the best versions of pimento cheese I've ever had. They also serve creamy Carolina grits in a biscuit bowl, which was such a cozy and delicious surprise. If you're into cooking, they sell their biscuit mix and even offer biscuit-making classes. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Charleston!
On our last day in the Charleston area, I wanted to order my wife a gluten-free biscuit since she is celiac. Callie's is amazing. They offer both gluten and gluten-free biscuits, produced separately to avoid cross-contamination. Their breakfast sandwiches are out-of-this-world good. There is no dining room on King Street in this narrow take-out space. You can enjoy your sandwiches and biscuits at a narrow counter on the north side of the space, with the south side more for picking up swag and ordering your food at the front counter, deep down the hall-like room. Behind the counter is the baking area and kitchen, where the magic happens. Walking past the two fridges to the front counter, you see all the trophies showcasing the response to what they have created with the biscuits. As they say, "The proof is in the pudding." Only in biscuits. I enjoyed my Bacon, Egg, and Pimento Cheese biscuit sandwich with Carolina Honey, which was wonderful and magical. It allowed me to radiate with goodness in addition to the iced cold brew I drank. My wife enjoyed her gluten-free biscuit sandwich, which I believe she ordered with bacon, egg, and cheese (but cheddar, no pimento). On the day we went, the daily special was a delightful blast of peanut butter, Nutella, and banana, which I also ordered and found to be very magical. They were mini biscuits slathered with peanut butter and banana in the middle, with Nutella poured on top for an experience of spiritual culinary oneness. Callie's Hot Little Biscuit is a tremendous place to enjoy biscuits if you want to have a bona fide experience of how they are made in the South. They are warm, tasty, and full of happiness.

We picked up our order of 3 biscuits...one fried chicken biscuit, one with blackberry preserves and goat cheese, and one bacon/egg/cheese. These biscuits sandwiches were amazing! The bacon/egg/cheese one had to be eaten with a fork because it crumbled. The fried chicken biscuit could be eaten like a sandwich and was my favorite one. It was absolutely perfect...the chicken was cooked perfectly and the biscuit was a perfect complement to the richness of the fried chicken. We saved the goat cheese and blackberry preserves until later and ate it for dessert. It was also fantastic! Perfect amount of both cheese and preserves. I wish I lived in Charleston so I could try all their biscuit sandwiches.
There is no seating, but there is a bar that you can stand at to eat. It is all street parking here. You order at the counter and then everything is in a to-go box. They also have merch that you can buy. The biscuits were 10 out of 10. Everything you want in a biscuit. They are mini sizes so I got basically every flavor to try. Some you'll like more than others, depending on your taste buds. The sweet tea was also very good.
One of the highlights of my Charleston trip! I love that you can get 3 mini biscuits (great for plane snacks btw) and there are so many sweet and savory options! The lemonade was delicious! So many good sandwiches to choose from (loved the fried chicken and pimiento cheese option).
Would give a 3.5 if I could. Honestly a great biscuit chicken sandwich but chicken wasn't very crispy. Biscuits were soft. Overall sandwich was expensive too. Nice employees.

I couldn't imagine how it'd be on a weekend! The cheese on the bacon, egg & cheese is shredded instead of sliced which made it a little messier to eat, but adding the honey with it was a great decision. We also tried a few of the little biscuits - the blackberry was my favorite (buttery, sweet yet tart, and a crunch of sugar coating the outside), followed by the cinnamon and then the cheese & chives.
A must stop when in Charleston. This hits every southern food craving at once - creamy grits, flaky biscuits, and spicy pimento cheese. Everything here is good.

Arrived right when they opened to skip the lines! The food was made very quick! service was nice. keep in mind, this spot is very small, there is little seating on the side with stools to eat. We ordered an egg sandwich and also a pack of three biscuits. The egg sandwich had pimento cheese. I didn't enjoy this one that much because the pimento cheese was cold. we preferred the pack of small mini biscuits. We got the plain, the cheese and chive, and the cinnamon. the cinnamon was a sleeper it was better than it looked! but you also must get the cheese and chive! warm, flaky, buttery. Run and grab all of the flavors. I had the goat cheese with blackberry jam biscuit and that was SO delicious. The girls had the bacon egg and cheese biscuits and it's what you would expect from it. The biscuit was delicious and buttery. It broke a part when you bite it. Super food. The hot honey chicken was fresh and fried to perfection. We also got the 3 for 7 and tried the cinnamon, cheddar cheese, and cheese and chives. All were great but the cinnamon one was the clear winner. They cut it in half and put a cinnamon sugar blend inside that made it gooey and delicious. The place is small so don't expect to eat there because space is really limited. Service was good. They give you a walk through of all the flavors and pairings. read more
The space is definitely small and there is really only enough room to order food to go - not much space to eat. I tried their BLT biscuit and Bacon, Egg, and Cheese biscuit sandwiches. Both were good, but the biscuits were definitely on the dry side - less of a home-made moist biscuit and more of an upscale fancy biscuit. Both sandwiches were large, filling, and had generous portions, and the bacon was great. I was definitely full for lunch. The tomatoes in the BLT were cut up grape tomatoes, which was kind of strange and difficult to eat - I would have much preferred larger sliced tomatoes that didn't fall out of the sandwich as easily when I ate. When we arrived, there wasn't a long line, so the time it took to order and get our food was not bad - I think it was later in the afternoon, though, so it may have been past peak busy time. read more
Amazing local handmade biscuit shop with tons of options. Super cute (but also petite) shop off King St. If you blink, you may miss the entrance. Worth the turn around! Love that they are also carrying the take and bake option now. If you follow their simple instructions, you can have these yummy biscuits anytime. Staff was friendly, helpful and positive. The only negative about this place is that there is no where to sit to enjoy the food. You have to either stand or go somewhere else to eat. The biscuits were good but a bit crumbly. The breakfast biscuit with sausage and pimento cheese is big. Enough to share in my opinion. I had to use a fork and knife because the biscuit was crumbling too much to eat by hand. I also tried the mini biscuit with blackberry jam and it was delicious. I definitely recommend stopping by! read more

I hear a lot about this restaurant, so decided to give it a try. I orders my food to be delivered and was pleased to see that they had a buy one get one free. So I ordered the Bacon, Egg and cheese biscuits. When my food arrived it was cold with a label Attention Customer reheat before you eat tag on the bag. Wondering if the food is even freshly cooked or just left over food. What happens if I had my food delivered to a place that I could not reheat it? Not really pleased because it was not fresh. The taste was ok but I have had better . If I was to recommend this restaurant. I would say go to the store front and not have it delivered, especially if you have no place to reheat your food. Useless you are into cold egg, bacon and cheese biscuits. read more

Yummm this biscuit sandwich was perfect and a top eat of the year for me! We ordered online (a group of 9 of us) for pick up and our sandwiches were ready and packaged when we arrived. The 2 ladies working were super kind and seemed to be very efficient. The space is small and definitely takeout only but super cute inside with options to buy frozen biscuits and other various things too! I was impressed with the service. We took our biscuits to the beach (20 min drive away) and everything was still so fresh and delicious when we got there! I got the bacon, egg, and pimento cheese biscuit and it was perfect! Went here twice in three days, I couldn't stop thinking about these biscuits the first time we had them and had to go back. Maybe it's because I haven't eaten a ton of biscuits in my life, having just now discovered them, but I loved these! Crumbly, crispy in a few spots, soft on the inside and chewy overall, filled with delicious toppings, these biscuit sandwiches were perfect for breakfast. We loved the Goat Cheese with the blackberry jam (we tried both jams) as well as the Pimento Cheese (add avocado and roasted tomato). Big line on weekend mornings but it moves pretty fast. If you sign up for their rewards program you get a free mini biscuit (flavored) which is also tasty! read more

Callie's is located in a small shop and has an area for customers to eat, but no stools. I liked their mint iced tea, but I wasn't in love with the biscuits. We tried various flavors, and my favorites were their savory ones. The country ham one was good. Service was quick. read more
Stopped by as we heard it was a must have when visiting the area. Overall it was delicious, but I will say the inside was so tiny that it made the lack of seating to sit and enjoy the food a bit disappointing. The staff was polite but not over the top welcoming. The biscuits were filing and delicious. The sandwich with bacon, egg, and cheese was delicious and traditional but nothing mind blowing. The other sandwich had goat cheese, jam, and arugula, which was messy but such a unique flavor I highly recommend!! Planning to visit Charleston later this week and wanted to know if you make your biscuits with lard and eggs in the dough? We are vegetarian and also don't consume any form of eggs.

Yes, they have shortcake biscuits. They're yummy! Although those will still have diary (cream) in them.
Do you offer turkey bacon or sausage products?
We do not offer turkey bacon and our sausage is made of pork. We do have vegetarian options like roasted tomatoes, avocados, eggs, and cheese!
Do you happen to have any dairy free options?
Hi Ryan! Unfortunately, we do not have any dairy free options on the menu, However, we can always do toast and fried eggs with bacon and sausage upon request and we have honey and a handful of jams. We can do scrambled eggs without dairy, but please…
