Heavy emphasis on really beautiful stuff. Makes me wish I was Catholic. Not in the Vatican/catechisms kind of way. More in the ancestor-worshipping kind of way. They bring gorgeous artisanal materials from various regions in the south, and they really get a lot of great stuff. My living space is getting progressively more Mexican despite my best efforts to avoid buying more. They also do workshops in the fall to make sugar skulls, pinatas, and those papel picado (paper cut banners) as well as paper mache skulls. Super cool. Wish I had an 8 year-old to drag with me. It was a pleasant experience to enjoy my first time here with my friend and Diane. As I walked around the store I instantly fell in love with a small pair of green and blue glass earrings. I knew I wanted something to buy as a memorabilia. I must say of all of the pieces of jewelry that I own and as expensive as mine are, that these earrings are my favorite!!! They were inexpensive but so beautiful, caught the light in a way that was absolutely stunning on my complexion. Love them and have worn them every day since. As I was going to pay for my earrings my friend took notice of a beautiful peacock that was blue, green and had streaks of gold. When asked if I liked it of course I did who doesn't like peacocks, it was gorgeous. To my surprise, My friend bought me the small Peacock and my earrings!!! Of all the gifts that I have these are my prize possessions. They're absolutely beautiful, well made and made with love. I knew this shop was special and I can see that it's because of the integrity and craftsmanship that goes into each piece. I wanted to bring a piece of beautiful San Diego home with me. We met with Diane and talked about what I was looking for and she offered so many wonderful ideas. We went home and I took all types of pictures of our home and sent them to Diane so that she could get a feel for who we were and how we liked to live our lives. After emails and all my silly questions, (Diane is very patient) we had her create two (2) fluted pendants to hang in our kitchen over our island and she created a inverted fluted bowl to hang over our dinette table. They are amazing. Words can not describe how beautiful they are. The colors are so rich and lush. We love them and every time I look at them I think of San Diego. Diane you are very sweet. Thank you for the beautiful pieces you created for us. We will be back very soon to San Diego Diane and we will be in to visit....I'm thinking centerpiece for dining room table now. The parking can be a bit difficult as there is a smalll parking lot in the side but it can get filled really fast. I had no trouble with parking when actually doing the class but when we picked up the items it was a bit crowded.

It all reminds me of another store called Anthropologie but this place has less clothing. After having a savory bakery treat from Parisien Gourmandises which is accessible by going inside Floral Palette. I walked through the store and browse through merchandise on display. A few things that caught my attention were the Voluspa scented reed diffusers, which I had purchased in the past from Barney's and Neiman Marcus. I prefer reed diffusers over candles for less hazard and more safety. Also, liked some of the collection of tinted stemware...these items are pricey but might be worth it for some. Despite me trying to flag down someone for assistance, the two female staffers pretend to ignore me and continue doing whatever seems to be more interesting than a potential buyer. As much as I like some of the goods, if service isn't even at par, I probably will not shop there. It's unfortunate for them to lose out on prospective customers since the french cafe is going more business. I suggest they should be more proactive in better customer service. The french cafe's service is outstanding and they should take serious notes. For now, due to none existing service, I cannot recommend Floral Palette. Pass!
