Please STOP what you are doing and read this review! I am a first time homebuyer, and was struggling with all of the cost associated with purchasing a home, (such as getting an inspection). I happened to mention this to a friend, who referred me to David Snavely at Wall 2 Wall Inspections! David, the owner, listened to my situation, and graciously offered to come out and do an inspection for me, on a very short notice. His kindness did not stop there. In addition to doing an inspection, he also walked me through the home and gave me very helpful tips on certain aspects of the house, that I would otherwise not have known. For example, I had a concern about possible mold in one of the bathrooms, and he patiently explained that there needed to be 3 constants for mold to fester, and that I only had one, so it was nothing to be concerned about. This put me at great ease, because a mold problem can impact many other things, including one's health, and would have made a difference in whether or not I would have moved forward with the purchase. David was a TRUE professional, and was extremely knowledgeable about every aspect of my future home. Something that I really appreciated is that he was able to put things in terms that I could understand, without using jargon that was over my head. it also helped that he is very, very tall, and could see things that others may easily miss. I was incredibly impressed by his knowledge, as well as his professionalism. My realtor, (who has worked with "many" inspectors over the years), was also impressed, and reached out to me afterwards for his contact info, in hopes of doing future business with him. My inspector was Kurt. His inspection was very detailed. He found 15 feet of foundation crack in 2 places. That is about $200K to fix the foundation. I backed out. The young man that did my inspection took the time to explain the items they had found. Told me what would need to be corrected and what things were not up to current codes but was not part of the code when the house was built. The Inspection was very through and when the new owner had her own inspection done by another company the reports were very similar. We've now had two inspections performed by Kurt from Wall Inspections. We canceled the purchase of the first home after his inspection. Given our experience with the first inspection, we had no hesitation whatsoever to ask Wall Inspections for the second home. Kurt takes his time going through the property and noting all issues. He took close to five hours on the first property. It took longer than normal because there was just so much wrong. At no time did he try to rush things through, he made sure he did the job right. Fortunately, the second property didn't have as many issues and that inspection lasted 3 hours. Kurt arrived on time and delivered as agreed the report the day after the inspection. We recently hired Wall Inspections to do an inspection of a house that we just bought without inspection as our primary residence. Over several hours, Kurt methodically and systematically reviewed every aspect of the house - including checking the attic, the crawlspace, all outtets, the foundation, the slope of the ground into the house and the roof. He brought an expert for termite inspection. He delivered a report that was 81 pages long with tons of pictures and with detailed instructions and explanations about potential issues. He emailed this report the next day after the visit! He was able to show us that the right side of the house was not graded properly or draining properly and that there was dry evidence that water must have leaked into the house and pooled in a closet in the past. We feel that we have had a good, accurate and trustworthy assessment of the property. Bonus: Kurt was exceedingly pleasant and patient. He spent close to an hour walking me through the outside and inside of the house to verbally explain his assessment and answer questions before he wrote the assessment up. my friend recently purchased a condo foreclosure in the san jose, ca vicinity. since she worked full-time and i had time to do some errands for her, i did a yelp review on home inspection firms in the santa clara - san jose, ca area. as it turned out, i located a home inspection firm, "wall inspections" that had perfect recommendations on yelp. wall inspections was the highest (best) rated). i went ahead and contacted wall inspections and spoke to the very courteous and professional receptionist, amanda who immediately took all the information about the condo and made an appt for an inspector to go inspect my friend's newly purchased condo (on foreclosures, you pretty much buy-as-is especially if it is a very good purchase)...amanda (per above) was very courteous, very professional, and very communicative. when the inspector arrived on the day of the inspection, his name is brett. brett was incredibly meticulous, careful, communicative, and thorough regarding the entire process explaining every single detail as he went along. brett, too, was very friendly, courteous, professional (and funny! he had a great sense of humour and made my friend and i feel more assured and relaxed in the purchase of the condo). as it finally turned out, brett gave my friend a two thumbs up!!! regarding the condo...there were, of course, some areas that needed work, however, with brett's expertise, experience, communications, we could not ask for anyone more professional and qualified! i wholeheartedly recommend wall inspections and brett. wall inspections was started by two guys who found a very strong need for very professional, very competent, caring service in this area and i give wall inspections a 5-star rating!!! thank you brett and wall inspections!!! you are the best of the best!!! read more
