My hubby & my favorite breakfast spot. Cambria Cafe. A family owned restaurant a rare gem on the Central Coast. We go every Sunday, its such a nice drive along the way on Hwy 1 .... from our home in Morro Bay. Its often foggy in the morning so I start with owner Becky's decaf coffee and my hub chooses reg coffee. Its cozy inside the restaurant and the service is perfect. Any dish we select ( we tried them all) is very delicious, served hot and tasty. We can honestly say...Roberto & Antonio are masters.in the kitchen . Give it a try for breakfast or lunch. Three stars is A-Ok. Food was decent portions were slightly below normal especially the hash browns. Asked for them crispy and here's how they showed up. Omelette felt like a two egg omelette. Flavors were fine. Salsa was jar salsa so that's unacceptable. Service was slightly above average. Not sure if it's a cafe or Mexican restaurant given the music playing. Think it's more for the staff than the customers. OJ was fresh but a bit bitter. Chile quiles were not bad. Creekside cafe better as are a few other local places for breakfast. read more

The restaurant was quaint. and clean and the staff were friendly.Unfortunately, once the food came out, it was very uneventful. My wife's patty melt was more like a hamburger on sourdough bread with mayonnaise and yellow cheese. My wet burrito was to say the least unsatisfying the meat had no seasoning.The only flavor came from what tasted like canned enchiladas sauce. I haven't tasted mexican food like this since I was in the midwest.(LA native) read more

I love this restaurant. I'm adding another review because they've added some new things to the menu...carne asada being one of them. The expectations were high and were met by the most deliciousness meal. Not only was the carne asada wonderful, the entire meal was over the top including guacamole and homemade tortillas that were so delicious. This was some of the best tasting food we had during our stay in Cambria. We had a pastor burrito and the chicken wrap. Both were good. The vibe inside was a little unconventional. It was very quiet and there was a weird smell in the dining area but the server was nice and attentive. read more

For the last 3 or 4 months I've been having breakfast at the Cambria Cafe at least once a week. The food has always been prepared perfectly, and Becky, the crack-of-dawn server, has made me feel truly welcome, far beyond simple regular-customer courtesy. I've done some comparison shopping in recent weeks, and the cafe wins every time. One place in town prepares "country potatoes" as large cubes of potato with no seasoning. Cambria Cafe cooks prepare them as small cubes, seasoned and fried exactly as I like (I can't define the spice combination, but I like it). My scrambled eggs are never dry or runny, and hash browns invariably have just the right crisp texture. They also serve really good coffee, something which most restaurants can't seem to manage. This morning I tried their chicken-fried steak for the first time, and it was as good as my wife's, which is saying something. The ambiance is what I'd expect from a small local cafe, comfortable, but not extraordinary. I'll continue to patronize "my" cafe as long as they'll have me. read more

This used to be a Mediterranean restaurant but opened under new ownership as a Mexican restaurant about a year ago. The staff is very kind and attentive and the food is absolutely delicious. Our first time, my mom had a breakfast burrito with Chorizo she said was the best of her life. My husband and I had veggie breakfast burritos which were big and super filling with everything cooked perfectly and yummy salsa on the side. We all went back for lunch the next day and had chicken mole enchiladas, huevos rancheros, chicken chilaquiles and a BLT. Everyone loved the meal and we especially liked that we were able to take in our baby without any issue. Highly recommend! read more

Stopped in for Breakfast. What a treat! I had an omelet and when I reached for the Cholula, the server suggested their homemade chili with a warning of the spice level. Flavorful with the right amount of cautionary spice. Friendly, wonderful atmosphere. A must stop next time in Cambria. read more

This small, family run "Main Street"store-front restaurant offers a range of breakfast dishes so appealing, we had a hard time deciding what to choose. Well we definitely missed the OG Cambria Cafe and we were sad when they were forced to close their doors for a Mediterranean restaurant....However, the NEW Cambria Cafe is just as good if not better!!! The Chicken Chiliquilas with green salsa is soooooo delicious and will keep you coming back for more of their tasty food! The Salsa Macha is spicy but has such a powerful flavor. I tried the chicken shawarma because they ran out of the beef. The chicken was moist and well seasoned. The rice was also bursting with flavor. I would have liked some more hummus and pickles. There was tons of rice on the plate relative to the other items. The pita bread was good, but I would have preferred for it to be warmed. There was a sweetness to it. I asked for water and the waiter said something real quick about something to share so I thought it was a pitcher. I did not realized that I ordered fancy glass bottled water. My husband and I were enjoying a weekend in Cambria and were searching for ethic fare for supper. We enjoy Mediterranean food and so decided to give Cambria Cafe a try and it did not disappoint. When we arrived, we were the only guests but the restaurant soon got busy with diners and take-out orders. There was only one person working front of house. We asked him where the owner is from and he said Syria. A couple of months ago, we had spent a week in Jordan serving Syrian refugees and had authentic Syrian food every day and so we were even more excited to try this food. Everything was so tasty! My husband got the chicken shwarma and I had the beef Kafka kabobs. All was super flavorful and you could tell it was homemade. If you are looking for middle eastern food in Cambria or just something tasty and a change from the ordinary, I recommend Cambria Cafe. read more

My husband and I went there two days in a row. The first day we had the breakfast burrito option. It was the best I have ever tasted. On the second day, my husband had the huevos rancheros, a dish he is very particular about, He gave it rave reviews. I had the BLTA, which had a very generous serving of bacon, which made it my favorite. The service was excellent and the staff warm and friendly. The restaurant itself was very neat and clean. Just sorry that I have to wait for another visit to Cambria to return to the Cafe. Great Job! read more

The food here is great - I had the chicken schwarma and it was really delicious. It's served with pita and the plate is full of delicious rice, chicken, salad, hummus, and pickles. The eggplant hummus is also delicious. I knocked off a star because the server helping us told us that the water in Cambria had high amounts of chlorine and was undrinkable. We ordered bottled water at the restaurant and bought a pack of bottled water for the Airbnb, but realized the tap water did not taste like chlorine at all. Large portions. The restaurant was basically empty on a Friday evening. Plenty of street parking in the smaller adjacent roads - and it's free too! read more

Stumbled upon Cambria Cafe because another restaurant was closed. We were seated immediately. The service was friendly and efficient. Everyone enjoyed their meal as it was delicious. This place is a great find, and a definite plus for Cambria. Food is excellent, portions are generous, the owner is super pleasant to talk to, and the prices are reasonable. We had the cheese boureg appetizer, my wife had chicken Shawarma, and I had the lamb shish kebab. Entrées include salad, delicious hummus, pita bread, and vegetables. Both entrées were large enough for us to take leftovers home for lunch tomorrow! Everything was really flavorful, including the delicious garlic sauce. We also got a little baba ghanouj appetizer and a small dessert included with our meal. Nice! I think the only thing I noticed that could be improved was the rice... Seem to be a little bit lacking in flavor. Everything else was great. And I have to hand it to the owner, who was handling all the tables, while doing duty in the kitchen as well. We were there on a Sunday evening, so maybe they were a little short staffed. But he did a fantastic job. He told us he had had the restaurant for about a year, and that it had been a Mexican restaurant before that. So, many of the menu photos reflect the Mexican menu. Maybe there's a way those could be deleted? Please make sure before you go that you know it's Middle Eastern and not Mexican. As fairly new residents of Cambria, this will be a place we visit often. We stopped in the cute little town of Cambria before heading north to San Fran. This restaurant was delicious and I would highly recommend it. I had the Chicken Shawarma plate and it was really good. My sister had the Falafel plate and ate the whole thing too. The server was very nice but you could tell he was busy as he was the only one for about 4 tables.
