Descent food that you come to expect at a grill based restaurant. We ordered the Monster Burger, Tri tip sandwich and Asian Salad and fries. Portions were large and everything was satisfying. Wait time was minimal, with plenty of seating inside and outside.

As always the food was great. A traditional stop when we go visit the elephant seals. The ribs, beans, and tri tip cobb salad were excellent.

the place is spacious and ambiance is great. they have seats indoor and also outdoor. order in person and they let you know your order number and will be called again when foods are ready. the foods that we ordered such as: fish and chips, tacos, burger with bacon, and onion rings were just ok. this restaurant is in a great area that after finish eating, you can just walking around and seeing some stores around...

Popular place, especially for families. Fair number of TV's to watch sports and good food at reasonable prices. They were busy but I got my order placed and filled in just a few minutes. They are a counter order call number type of place. It was a good burger and they customized it just as I asked. Tri-tip sandwich is thick and the roll is toasted. Not a smoked flavor but a good amount of meat made the price seem OK. Monster burger was thick and tasted great. Recommend for an easy meal that satisfies. It is a family friendly environment.

Love the outdoor seating and dog friendly vibe. My salad was priced with lots of pine nuts. The fries were just as we all remembered, hot, crispy and seasoned with something addictive! What we were really disappointed in was the tri-tip. Not much flavor and lots of fat/gristle. The pulled pork was a generous portion. Staff at the register were friendly and the food came out quick!

Went in downtown Cambria you cannot leave without trying some of the best barbecue this laid-back Beachtown offers. Walk up and order, pay & then wait for your number to be called. There is ample seating on their outdoor patio, which is dog friendly or inside which has a casual sports bar vibe. There are also great beers on tap along with Wine , sodas & iced tea. We were torn as they have some great sounding BBQ options & salads on their menu... for us it came down to the Tri Tip Sammy vs. The Pig , which is a monstrous mound of tender pulled barbecued pork on a delicious French roll slathered with their tangy barbecue sauce. It's served with a basic coleslaw . Its also massive, so two can definitely share this. Of course we also had to order a side of their Delish seasoned crispy fries and enjoyed dipping those in their ranch dressing. Washed it all down with a delicious crisp and cold hoppy IPA. Yum!

Great spot for a casual bite. The ABC burger was Delicious, fries were seasoned perfectly but that BBQ sauce for the Ribs is my Favorite.

How have I been going to Main Street Grill for over 15 years and have yet to write a review for this classic spot? Anyways, the best thing about this casual spot is how consistent it is. Most of the flavors and food tastes the same as it did when I started going here as a kid after long days on the beach in San Simeon. I am local to the Fresno area so this joint is the sister restaurant to Dog House Grill in Fresno and Firestone Grill in San Luis Obispo. This place is excels due to its fast service, cheap eats, and massive portions. Dollar for dollar, I don't think you will find a cheaper place to grab lunch or dinner on the central coast with food that is always hot and yummy. A meal for two people was less than $25 dollars. Hard to beat in this location! The menu is pretty concise but has a little something for everyone. I had the cheeseburger and a side of fries and my order was ready in less than 5 minutes of ordering. The burger was thick, juicy, and had the right ratio of meat to veggie toppings. The fries are a classic thin cut fry that are best enjoyed within the first 10-15 minutes of sitting down. All of the food I have ordered here over the years has been quality and enjoyable. At my latest visit, the one thing I did not enjoy was the coleslaw. It was way to salty and the cabbage was oversaturated with a dressing that didn't taste to great. The texture was soggy and it did not taste fresh. I wouldn't order it again on my next visit personally. All in all, this will continue to be a staple for me on each visit I make to the coast. I frequent the area at least 4 times a year and always make it a point to grab one of my meals at Mainstreet. Keep up the great work! You are a household classic/tradition for my family!

The tri tip sandwich is great! Full of meat.

Are dogs allowed on your patio?

Well, I've SEEN dogs on the patio. But I don't know if that's official policy.

Will you be open on Thanksgiving? If so, hours and same menu & service as always?

Why was I charged $15.00 for a Main Street salad when menu says $9.99? It's too late to inquire about it and I wasn't the one who picked it up. Did prices go up?

$9.99 is the price for the small salad. If you were charged $15, you were given a large/regular. Some cashiers will not ask which size you want and just put it in as a large or "regular" size. (i know this reply is extremely late, i'm sorry😭)

Service is with a polite smile and efficient. I always seem to have a special order and this time I ordered their vegan tomato bisque with half vegetable panini and I subbed a roasted poblano pepper for the eggplant. The combo of the roasted veg and poblano pepper as the feature flavor in a grilled cheese on sourdough was outstanding! My mom treated herself to the Ololliberry pie and house made vanilla bean ice cream. She was in heaven. Hubby had the Tri-tip Sando and sister ordered the beet and goat cheese salad. All the produce and sauces/dressings were fresh and delicious and the portions were generous - not over the top. Linns has a delightful wine selection to accompany your meal and it is a welcoming and homey experience. Will definitely return.

(2 ) available 4- top tables open, but a party of 6 was told 30 minute wait. They declined and left. - A person came in asking for take out only to be told they were "inundated and not taking take out orders at this time." So far this is a management issue - these ladies were giving and needed 1 more server to keep them caught up- lots of business waking out the door due to poor scheduling- what a shame. One person behind the bar and 2 dining room servers would make this successful. It's too easy. - Food came out in a timely manner. Gary's pasta - 10/10 Clam chowder - 10/10 definitely homemade. My wedge- a little pricey but 8/10 only because the dressing came out clearly of a jar and no blue cheese crumbles. (Little things make a huge difference) - Moscow Marlin drink 10/10 - Another walk out. Lots of empty glasses at the bar. Would we come back? Only with these 2 servers. ( I think we got lucky) Definitely not on a Friday and If it's this much of a mess on a Friday, I can only imagine what a Saturday would look like. Cute place with amazing clam chowder and pasta.

And the onion rings were pretty boring. I don't think they make them there, I am not sure about that, though. But they had kind of a generic look and feel to them, but the problem was they had zero flavor. Like nobody put salt on them when they took them out of the fryer. That's the first thing you do when you pull something out of a fryer, you season it. The server was nice enough, but they have a thing now where if you ask for water, they want to sell you a bottle of water. I get that things are tough for restaurants, but I almost rather pay a little more for the sandwich and get water, if you know what I mean. I'm no food expert, or running a restaurant expert, these are just my reactions as a local who stops in here fairly regularly. I think if the folks who run this place feel like there's any value to my little thoughts, they would be easy to fix and wouldn't cost anything at all really. I've been coming here for years, and I want these folks to do well.

In fact is was so warm that my wife had to go outside to cool off a couple of times. Service was stellar. From the server, (Ramona) to the other staff. They took very good care of us. Kept our waters full and checked on us several times during our visit. Let's get down to it. The moment that counts. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer. They were FANTASTIC. They were stuffed with a feta type cheese and were absolutely delish! My main dish wass the Filet Mignon. I ordered it medium. It came with veggies and mashed potatoes. When the steak showed up it looked good and I cut into the steak. It was done to perfection. It had some kind of JD whiskey sauce on it. I took a bite and it was awesome. SO much flavor. I was in heaven. It was like eating candy. I have always considered The Range in Santa Margarita the best but THIS, yeah this was going to be hard to beat! The Sows Ear was now top dog! The mashed potatoes were epic as well. Perfectly cooked and very creamy. The veggies, (broccoli, squash, and carrots), were great as well. Not a huge squash fan but they did not over do the squash and it was just full of flavor. This REALLY went well when it came to the food. The portions were spot on. Lastly we come to the dessert. We had the Mud Pie. Yep, it was a HUGE piece for less than $10.00. Great value and man.........., was it good. Enough for 2 people. It really creates that intimate setting when you can share with your significant other and it be more then enough. This place would have gotten 5 stars had the interior temp been comfortable. 4.5 stars! The bill for the two of us, no alcohol, was right at $140.00. with tip were out the door at approx. $170.00. Thanks to the staff for making this experience great! Ramona, Katie, and the guy walking around that made sure we were good! They made a great team! I would totally recommend the Sow's Ear in Cambria. This place is everything you would expect and you will not be disappointed. Don't miss out on this place! Worth every penny. That is all! Have a great day!
