Came here on a weekend trip to Cambria and it was a great experience! The owner was super nice and attentive and the food was great! I ordered the Shish Taouk plate (grilled chicken), the chicken was cooked to perfection! My boyfriend had the lamb kebab (we've eaten at a few Mediterranean / Middle Eastern restaurants and he said this was his favorite) and my mom had the shrimp plate. First time here we ordered the chicken shawarma and the lamb chops. The chicken was moist and flavorful with the rice pilaf, salad and hummus was really tasty. The lamb chops was good too with the rice and salad was flavorful with diverse textures. The service was good our waiter seemed not too friendly though. Maybe it's his personality. The ambiance was interesting a bit awkward, Italian or Mediterranean decor with techno music. I didn't know whether I was going to sail the seas or rave haha. We loved the original Cambria Cafe and then it was changed to a Mediterranean restaurant...not so please with that. We got very excited to see that the restaurant had new owners and was back to serving breakfast and lunch. We were hoping it was a return to the original cafe but sadly no. The food was lack cluster to say the least. Flavorless and luke warm. My hubby ordered the chicken fried steak breakfast and it was so e pressed meat patty with a very watering gravy drenched on top. The ordered over medium eggs were way over done and the country potatoes were like warm. I ordered the two egg breakfast sausage country breakfast and it was hard to finish. The over medium eggs were hard and the sausage patties were like flavorless pucks. The potatoes were luke warm as well. The toast and English muffins were meh. The customer service was lack luster. The waitress was very timid and not engageful. We were really disappointed. Maybe they'll get their footing once they get going. The menu looks promising and the venue is a great spot. It was perfect--everything was fresh and well cooked, the chicken was surprisingly juicy. Baba Ghanuj (5/5): Delicious! So, this is a new restaurant in town. Hubby and I decided to go there for Valentine's Day breakfast. We were very disappointed. I had bacon & Eggs. Husband had Huevos Rancheros. I asked for crisp bacon and hash browns. I got neither. 2 pieces of bacon, 1 slice of toast, 2 eggs cooked almost hard and about 3 bites of hash browns. Hubbies meal was pathetic. We only stopped in for hummus and we're happy to enjoy their rock playlist. (Nirvana, Metallica, AC/DC? This is a welcome departure from the ambient music used at the other joints on this strip!) The hummus was delicious, the chickpeas and olive oil were treated with care and worked well as a garnish. They also provided pickled vegetables which were quality. The customer service was awesome. Very cute place on Main Street serving Lebanese/Syrian fare. We were a group of four women (all of middle eastern background) who know authentic Lebanese cuisine, and this place did not disappoint. The owner was very friendly and great at front of the house duties, while his wife prepared our dishes. We loved the baba ganouj and hummus with the house made pita chips. A wonderfully delicious option disguised as an ordinary cafe. Lucky for us, we wanted a late breakfast and assumed a cafe would be the best option for that. We were surprised to find incredibly delicious clam chowder and carne asada. The carne asada was on the steak ranchero omelette, but gave us a clue that their Mexican fare would be pretty delicious. The omelette was pretty great, so back to that. The hash browns were cooked perfectly as well. I always as for hash browns well done and most places don't get that part right, but they did here. As for my choice, I went with clam chowder and a 1/2 order of biscuits and gravy. Clam holder was some of the best I have ever had and the best from a cafe. Biscuits and gravy was good, but just that. Not anything I have to try again, but hit the spot. Service was great and didn't skip a beat considering outside dining and having a dog with us. This place is great! We have never been to cambria and we were trying to find a great place to eat. I walked up to the menu located out in front and noticed they had chicken strips on the menu (We have a very picky eater in our family). I knew this was the place to eat at! I had the chicken burrito, my husband had the Birria tacos, my youngest had the kids cheese burger and fries and my oldest had the chicken strips and fries. Everything came out fast and fresh. Homemade tortillas were a plus! My burrito was made perfectly and precut in half to show the perfection. The salsa added a nice kick. My husband devoured his tacos. The service was great. Our waitress was nice and efficient. Very attentive. My oldest daughter couldn't get over how beautiful and clean the bathroom was and my youngest loved how the walls had fake windows and a door. Very creative. I loved how simple the menu was and you have a choice between burritos and burgers. Something for everyone. Overall the whole entire experience was wonderful. On a recent road trip getaway with my pup, we found this place with the recommendation of the Inn (Cambria Shores) we stayed at since Cambria Cafe is a dog friendly establishment. They have tables set up outside under a tent with heaters. I ordered the bacon and sausage omelette with home fries, sourdough toast and coffee. The omelette was cooked perfectly and tasty with the fresh salsa. The home fries were crisp, tender and flavorful. Service was friendly and attentive. My friend also enjoyed his spinach, tomato and bacon omelette. We enjoyed our breakfast so much, that we came back the next day. read more

So we actually came to Cambria to go to our favorite sandwich shop, but they were closed, so we had to pivot and saw this on Yelp. The server was super nice and accommodating. I ordered the breaded seafood combo while my wife ordered the Cubano. The seafood was fresh and very good, but her Cubano was incredible. The combination of ham, jalapeños, chorizo, beans, etc worked perfectly. Because of that great lunch, we decided to try their breakfast out the next morning. We stopped in to the Cambria Cafe for a bit of Breakfast. We decide we would do Menudo and Mimosas!!!! Good Choice! The menudo was a small order but still on the big side (14oz). It didn't have any Hominy, but was still real good with a side of onion, cilantro, lime, and oregano. It also came with two warm Corn Tortillas. The Mimosas were large and made with fresh squeezed Orange juice. A bit pulpy for me but still real good! My wife ordered the Breakfast burrito with Chorizo. She said it was good, but it was big and she could only eat 2/3 of it.... Lucky Me! I had the Eggs Benedict with Spinach. The hollandaise sauce was perfect! Well done CC! It was served with potatoes and fresh salsa. The salsa was outstanding! We sat outside on the street covered area. Nice addition for this town. However a man came in there who owned it with her and had a problem with my service dog, was going off at her in the back of course I couldn't understand what they were speaking, but it was very obvious when he walked over to the table and rudely said, are you done. We weren't quite done, but we were getting there, but it was obvious that he was not friendly and I didn't care for how he was treating her. I would've smacked him a good one if it was me. But she was a very nice lady. As someone who has partaken of thousands of To Go meals over the years, and disappointed by at least 80%, pleased to find this new Mediterranean restaurant in Cambria. Picked up orders To Go for my wife and myself - after nearly two years of Covid everyone has lost track of how many To Go meals they've had - and happy to find Mediterranean food reminiscent of my favorite Med restaurant in the Bay Area's Piedmont district. Notably, the rice is better than my favorite Med restaurant. Made mini vegan tacos of the large onion slices and rice, with a dab of hummus, bursting with flavor.
