I love this restaurant. I'm adding another review because they've added some new things to the menu...carne asada being one of them. The expectations were high and were met by the most deliciousness meal. Not only was the carne asada wonderful, the entire meal was over the top including guacamole and homemade tortillas that were so delicious. Also, just an FYI they have a few tables outside that are pet friendly.

Been coming to Cambria for 10 years and only discover now this place cambria cafe I had the chilaquiles super Delicious and the house hot sauce ( salsa) omg it's to die for the best and want to thank Antonio for going above and beyond he was fantastic. Great customer service. I super recommend this place. They are really friendly.

Well we definitely missed the OG Cambria Cafe and we were sad when they were forced to close their doors for a Mediterranean restaurant....However, the NEW Cambria Cafe is just as good if not better!!! The Chicken Chiliquilas with green salsa is soooooo delicious and will keep you coming back for more of their tasty food! The Salsa Macha is spicy but has such a powerful flavor. The service was on point and the place was very clean. Thank You soooo much for making this restaurant a great dining experience! We will definitely be coming back for more:)

Cambria is such a small and lowkey place so I would've never thought it would be a clean-plate place to visit. In this little town of Cambria, you start to think that your cravings may go unsatisfied because of the handful of options you have in the area. Resting street side on Main Street, this restaurant offers a variety of (mostly on the Mexican-American fusion side) foods, beverages and even desserts that any taste bud could desire. One thing to consider however, you are so close to the sea and small ports/piers are just minutes away so I decided, why not have the seafood items. I had the Fish and Chips as well as the Hard Shell Shrimp Tacos. The Fish and Chips was battered wonderfully and the pacific cod tasted so fresh and tender it was tempting to buy another plate. It had also come with fries (duh) and a simple bowl of coleslaw, all that complimented each other with their own crisp flavors. The Shrimp Tacos were also a delight, the shrimp was grilled and darkened to perfection and my taco was packed! This place definitely doesn't slack on their toppings. It's not often I get a fulfilling taco but honestly, one plate could feed one person. If you ever have the pleasure to visit Cambria or you're currently in Cambria, do yourself a favor and visit this amazing place! read more

Cambria has a new Mediterranean restaurant and it is amazing. We stumbled upon the Cambria Cafe while shopping along Main St. The owner greeted us as we were looking at the menu in the window. He was so friendly, we changed our dinner plans and came here later that evening. Wow! Everything was so delicious. The lamb kabab and beef kabab were fantastic and the dinners come with rice, salad, humus and grilled tomato and onion. So good! read more

My husband and I had lunch there one weekend- he had the beef kebab and I had chicken. It was delicious! The service was great as well! We then ordered enough rice, chicken and salad for 50 people for our daughter's baby shower. They prepared plenty of food. Everyone loved it and nobody went home hungry. I highly recommend trying this restaurant. I am sure it will be one you come back to again and again. read more

Really great Mediterranean food with excellent service from Moussa, a very kind and genuine person. I had the falafel and my wife had the lamb chop. Both were excellent, the falafel was very flavorful and authentic. The lamb chop was juicy and tasty and vegetables were good as well, especially the onion (so sweet!). Also enjoyed the baba ghanoush. read more

Mediteranin at its best and with the friendliest service. Moses is charming and helpful and loves to make your time rememberable. We sampled the appetizers with hummus with meat, stuffed grape leaves, and fattoush. I asked for foull and Moses said "we make that" while not on menu. Everything is fresh and perfectly spiced. You will want to order everything but portions are large. We will return. I was told they are adding fish to the menu. read more

We ate a lot of meals on a PCH road rip. Cambria Cafe was a stand out meal. We had the Falafel Plate and the Potatoes with Coriander. Both were delicious, flavorful and made with skill. We left nothing behind. The folks that served us the food seemed very kind. Good vibes here. Highly recommended to any visiting or local people seeking something interesting and good for lunch or dinner. read more

So, the food that I had was good: chicken shawarma, grape leaves, and pita chips. HOWEVER, the $10 grape leaves came with three small pieces which feels like a crime and I never would've ordered them if they were advertised that way. There's also no tap water available so you're forced to buy bottled water if you'd like any liquid with your meal. On top of that, my boyfriend and I felt pretty uncomfortable. No one came over a single time after our food was given to us and no one would even bring us the check when our plates were empty. We sat there for 15 minutes trying to get someone's attention before they even acknowledged us and still didn't bring us the check for at least 5 more minutes so at this point we've been trying to leave for like 20 minutes. So what was meant to be a cheap and quick dinner where we literally shared a plate of food turned into $50 of not much food and being forced to sit there waiting for a long time after eating without being allowed to leave since no one would acknowledge us. We weren't thanked either after we paid, they just walked away. Fun! read more

Can't be more pleased with this meal! Great place to grab some yummy middle eastern food. The owner was very friendly, going above and beyond to make us comfortable. We're from LA and really appreciate the hospitality. The food is delicious. Portion size makes a lot of sense, balancing protein, rice, and veggies. Loved the coffee! Highly recommend! read more

Everything is fabulous!!! The Mediterranean salad had great flavor. The babba ghanuj is the best I've ever had. The shush tauke plate was a great combination of flavors. The service is wonderful. We even got free Chardonnay that was excellent! The prices are very reasonable and the interior is decorated nicely with fun music playing. A must go! read more

Wow! I didn't know I was a fan of Mediterranean food until I visited here. Everything was delicious! I had the chicken kabobs, my husband had the beef. Absolutely outstanding. I tried baba ganoush for the first time- I'm obsessed! Moussa, our server was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. I can't say enough about how much I love this place. If you are looking for a Delicious Mediterranean meal, look no further. This is your place. The food was scrumptious, extremely seasoned and well balance. We had the Kefta kebab and the beef Shawarma plates. Each plate came with a delicious Mediterranean salad, rice, hummus, and garlic spread. I asked for mine to be slightly adjusted, and my request was carried out, and I had baba ghanoush, which was delicious as well. The owners are super friendly, inviting, help answer any questions that you may have, and make you feel right at home. This is our second time coming to the restaurant and we plan to return soon. read more

My husband and I came to Cambria for a short babymoon and he knows I love Mediterranean food and suggested we stop here for a late lunch. I'm so glad we did! We both got the chicken schwarma for dinner and it was delicious. Such nice service and best hummus I have ever had as well. We were super excited to hear that there was a Mediterranean restaurant going to open in Cambria! The three of us ordered the 2 chicken Shawarma plates and the Kafta plate. We really enjoyed it and will definitely go back... We would go back much more often if they had Gyros on their menu and Tzatziki sauce! Two things I've been missing and craving for a while! I can't wait to try the lamb kebab... It would be great to have more updated information on there yelp page also read more

We always come here when we are at the beach. We stay in Cayucos but drive to Cambria to visit the nursery and eat here. Best hash browns and huge omelets. Burgers are so delish. We haven't found anything we haven't loved. Not a fancy place but the place to go for good food. read more

This is the freshest Mediterranean food. So much flavor and delicious food to choose from. I love Chicken Shawarma and Sish Taouk and both were the best I have ever tasted. I feel like I hit the jackpot with the fresh Hummus and let's not even get to the garlic spread. What tops it off for me is that it is family owned and so friendly. Was not impressed with this place. Everything from the service to the food was just ok. The enchiladas, rice and beans were average. Wouldn't order again as I can make better myself. My daughter had the pancakes and they were slightly better. My daughter had a taco and it was really greasy. Had to wait long stretches to talk to the sever or get refills. Wouldn't recommend. read more

I do not eat seafood, therefore this review is based off of my group. My husband enjoyed the oysters stating they were fresh and sweet. My daughter loved the calamari. I was quite underwhelmed with the spicy tequila cream chicken pasta. I was told that the dish was very spicy. To me, there was barely a hint of heat to it. The flavors was lacking. I feel as if the sliced onions should be left out. Our friend ordered the cioppino and mentioned the same thing, the sliced onions made the dish taste a little off but otherwise delicious. The kids fusilli with Parmesan was ok. It was basically tossed in butter and she can add her own Parmesan. The rib eye came out medium well. We thought that maybe it was just the ends that were a bit more cooked, however, almost the entire steak was medium well. The only part that we didn't eat was looked to be medium. Although the steak was not cooked to our preferred temperature, it was very flavorful and tender. And we sure were hungry after a day of exploring. We ate nearly the entire plate. I didn't want to mention anything since we ate 90% of the plate, but our friend convinced us to bring it up to the server. And so I did, not wanting to anything to be done about it. We did nearly finish it. We also did not want to wait longer for the steak to be re-made. I paid for my tab and it was well under what I had expected the total to be. I scanned through the itemized receipt and realized that they took off the steak. I felt ashamed for even bringing it up since we basically ate it all. The cocktails were great. Not too watered down or too heavy with alcohol. The restaurant has an amazing view overlooking the Pacific Ocean and offers outdoor seating. The service is quick and everyone was very friendly. Will I came again? For sure. Just not for pasta.

The oyster bar was fresh The rib eye steak was cooked to perfection. The all time favorite clam chowder in a sourdough bread was so tasty and oceanic flavor. The shrimp salad was crispy and tangy. The steamers of clams was divine . The wine broth was soothing. The salmon shrimp crab cake was good. The fish and carne asada tacos . were delicious Dessert we opted to molten lava cake. That's the first thing you do when you pull something out of a fryer, you season it. The server was nice enough, but they have a thing now where if you ask for water, they want to sell you a bottle of water. I get that things are tough for restaurants, but I almost rather pay a little more for the sandwich and get water, if you know what I mean. I'm no food expert, or running a restaurant expert, these are just my reactions as a local who stops in here fairly regularly. I think if the folks who run this place feel like there's any value to my little thoughts, they would be easy to fix and wouldn't cost anything at all really. I've been coming here for years, and I want these folks to do well.

The restaurant is located in a quaint, picturesque town. We enjoyed walking around to see the other shops afterward. The parking lot was small but we were able to find parking. We got there on a Monday around 2PM and waited about 5-10 minutes to be seated.

Besides the corn pudding, the dish was in need of some spice but the creamy tomatillo sauce made it acceptable. The lamb chops entrée filled the plate and was plated quite nicely. The chops were well prepared with a nice char and quite flavorful. The Black Cat Bistro offers a nice selection of wines, many of which are from local vintners.

I love getting to the bottom of the pot and adding some butter. It's so good! I usually always get the same thing. I love the steak and mashed potatoes. It's so tasty that's it's had for me to try something else. This restaurant is very small and cozy. It's like an old school family restaurant with a cute fire place. I always try to arrive right when they open so I can get a table right in front of the fireplace. It's so cozy! And then I have to get my glasses of wine. The ambience is just very quaint and cozy. I always recommend this restaurant to my friends when they are going to Cambria. Everyone that I have recommended it to has gone always had good things to say about it.

What a great place to eat. Small, quaint, full of locals, has great food and great service!! To top it off, it won't break the bank. My family and I found this place on the last day of our stay in the San Simeon/Cambria area and we we're so upset we didn't find it sooner!! We all ordered the breakfast combo with french toast and it was just perfect. The french toast was thick pieces of toast perfectly cooked, the eggs weren't burnt (I'm always surprised at how many places literally burn their eggs. Eggs are not that hard to cook) and the fruit was fresh and sweet. We ate everything!! Nothing was taken home in a doggy bag. When we come back to Cambria, we are definitely coming back here! read more

We've been to this cafe three times and every meal has been terrific. The server was attentive and professional and the decor is cute and unpretentious. My favorite is the al pastor and any dish you get with it will be excellent. And if you like chilaquiles, this is your place. I'm pretty fussy about pastor, but they really do it perfectly here. read more
