Price to repair more than doubled when camera was sent in. Cost me a $20 handling charge along with the $9 postage to get camera returned.

Frankly, if a repair costs a significant amount, it's usually a better choice to just buy a new camera.

The team actually knows what they're talking about. No ego, no upsell pressure, just real conversations about what makes sense for your workflow. What I respect most is how tapped in they are to the "new new." They're consistently carrying and releasing the latest gear before most places even catch up. If something innovative drops in the camera world, they either already have it or can get it fast. That matters when you're trying to stay current and competitive. The vibe is professional but relaxed. It feels like a place run by people who actually work in production and understand what it's like on set. They get the urgency. They get the details. And they treat you with respect whether you're buying something big or just grabbing an accessory. If you're serious about camera gear and want knowledgeable people who are cool, helpful, and ahead of the curve, this is the spot. Probably the coolest camera shop in town.

I've bought gear from them and prepped cameras at their LA space, and every time it's the same vibe: skilled techs, zero attitude, and a room full of people who clearly care about the craft. The prep area feels like a creative war room -- organized, focused, and buzzing with purpose. If you're serious about production and want to be around people who get it, this is the place.

Horribly inaccurate lead times on items. I was trying to make a few end of year purchases as a…read morewrite off for my business and was referred to Abel by a friend of mine who had been doing business with them for years. It felt like every camera I wanted to buy I wouldn't be able to take delivery of by the end of the year so I made some compromises in order to get something from these guys. Even after being told my cameras should ship they were delayed and I missed deadline after deadline. At one point I even had to have them redirect my shipments to the 4 Seasons where I was staying on holiday in an attempt to actually take delivery of what I bought and they still didn't deliver. Incomplete shipments, incorrect shipments, and here I am months later and I'm still dealing with trying to solve an order from December. The only star I can give to the folks at Abel was in their support department. The guy they had me working with, Jason, did help me put together the package I wanted even if I couldn't actually get what he was telling me to buy. He had a fast response time even if every time I talked to the guy he was telling me things were delayed or he flat out didn't have them in the warehouse. I honestly don't know how this place does business since they never seem to have anything on the shelf and then after almost three months awaiting a lens that I tell them I don't want anymore they try to tell me that I have to keep it.

Okay, Here's my deal with Abelcine…read more Pro - Staff is incredibly friendly and some of them are funny. I hear the jokes. I hear them. Having purchased and rented items I've dealt with those people (sales reps, rental guys and customer service) and they are awesome! I'll break something soon just to have an excuse to meet the people in service. Con - Where is the store??? Oh yeah... you gotta walk in, look around, take a few more steps in, head 'round the corner and BAM! Pro - State of the art equipment. And if they don't have it, they'll find someone who does. Con - Parking on busy days. They host classes, so you've got to sell your first born child to get a parking space sometimes. Pro - They allow dogs! Con - They Allow dogs!
