They were so helpful with my schedule - accommodating a last minute schedule change as I didn't realize there was a marathon race the morning of my move and the roads would have been blocked. John & Darryl were great! They worked hard & efficiently and also took extra care to felt my furniture to protect the hardwood floors. Moving is a complete pain but luckily companies like Camelback Moving exist to make the experience a little less painful. I also suggest being pregnant when you move because then you get out of lifting heavy boxes! I've hired Camelback Moving several times over the last decade and they have always been my favorite movers in town. Now here's the trick. You need to be with the movers while they are moving your stuff so that they don't stall, but as long as you do, they work hard and quickly! For our recent move, we were a mover's nightmare because our condo complex is the least moving-friendly condo complex in town. Half the time was spent walking back and forth. However, Frank and Alex, the two Camelback Moving movers (along with my husband who was a rockstar during this whole moving process), saved the day and worked incredibly hard to get the move done. Frank and Alex were super nice to work with, they worked hard and they were very friendly along the way! The price is very reasonably priced with a one time trip charge, plus $70 an hour for two movers and a truck. I hope I don't move again anytime soon, but whenever I need a moving company, i will know to turn to Camelback Moving! read more

We had a good/solid experience, and I truly appreciate the attention to detail and how thorough they were in explaining every thing from the type of vehicle to the formula for the estimated weight of our move. I liked how they came to our apt to evaluate our things, discuss the process in person and gave us information on the process and side bit information. through out our process Tina was always just a phone call away, and easily explained the jargon That was the contract and bill of lading or what not. We had an interstate move from Tempe, az to long beach, ca. Both times we were/are located on the third floor (the Cali stairs where a little harder imo). the moving crew (we had different crews each time but the same lead) both times were so hard working, courteous, and very efficient. Honestly I was so impressed by their discipline to work and the ease and efficiency in which they preformed the labor. The lead and the driver Mack is a very confident driver, as I was worried about the the width and condition of the California roads but he navigated the alley just fine (simply a feat). All our things arrived well and in the same condition they were packed in. I had some antiques (one being an old wooden chest) and they took such good care. Yes, when I received quotes from other companies I received less expensive estimates and even we when we called camelback the first time were told Aprox $2000 however in the end after the walk through with an employee, we were given a hard quote for $3525. In the end, yes it was a little more expensive but the quality and care we received was worth the price tag. And also the price didn't deviate once we agreed upon it which was a relief after reading reviews and learning about "hidden" costs. So A+ *I do have a tip to ppl moving we choose smaller boxes for heavier items (yes we had lots of small heavy boxes) but the crew did mention how much easier it made things to have a uniformed size and the weight being more manageable. We used bigger boxes for lighter items or awkward shaped items. read more

It was hard to figure out what rating to give this company. I've used them in the past for short distance moves across town in Phoenix and would have rated them a 5 based on those alone....but then I made the mistake of using this company for a long distance move out of state. I've never experienced such poor customer service before. Throughout the whole process, the long distance moving rep. (Susan) made promise after promise that she never upheld. 1. I was told by Susan that there was another person moving things to Minnesota, and that the shipments could be combined to minimize costs. I spoke with another rep (Alicia) about this and she said that they were waiting on the other persons reply. I never heard anything about this matter afterward despite inquiring about it prior to my move, and have received no updates despite being told that I would. I finally received a follow-up after I wrote a complaint to the company. During their follow up after my complaint, I was told that my price quote already reflected the savings of a combined move, but I know that is not the case because the discount I received was in response to the quotes I received from two competitor companies (Atlas and United Vanlines) and had nothing to do with the savings from a combined move. When I received the quote, they specifically told me they were knocking off $300 to be competitive with the other companies, that I would receive more off once they get confirmation from the other person that a combined move would be possible. There is no misunderstanding here, I was flat out lied to by Camelback Moving in this instance to cover up their incompetence in handling my move. It's important to note that everyone I have dealt with from the company, except for the long distance moving rep., has been professional and courteous, albeit unhelpful at times. 2. I was never given a quote by Susan during her visit to my apartment, I received a quote from Alicia when I called in, which she quickly did as a courtesy because it happened to be 15 minutes before the office closed on that Friday. I had been told by Susan that she would be getting in touch with me later in the afternoon on August 23rd, if not for my call to the office near closing time, I would have been left without a quote from Camelback Moving. What I was given at the time was never meant to be the actual quote, Alicia informed me that I would be getting a more accurate updated quote from Susan on Monday morning (August 26th). It is important to note that my apartment was examined at 10am. There was an excess of 6 hours that passed between the visit and me needing to call in for the information that I was promised. 3. I called Susan Monday morning on August 26th around 9am inquiring about my actual quote. At no time was I given the complete updated quote despite asking for one. The only quote I was given at the time was for my packing fees. Once again, I was promised a more precise quote and pick up time later that afternoon. The three gentlemen that packed my apartment unit were surprised at my price quote because they said that it was a very small move, that according to their paperwork, I was quoted as needing 8 wardrobe boxes, when only 3 ended up being used. This lead me to further question the quote that I was given, considering the prior conversation about how the cost was estimated and the cost reduction of a combined move with the other person moving to MN. When I brought this up in a follow up with Alicia, I received a lot of excuses and finally was told that even though the type of boxes were overestimated, the total number of boxes I was estimated as having was still within one or two boxes. I don't know if I buy this answer, since it was pretty clear that she was doing the damage control for another person's screw up. 4. During the same phone call on August 26, I asked Susan when the movers would be arriving the next day and was informed that she didn't know at the time but would call me back once it was confirmed. I received no contact from her. I was forced to speak with one of the warehouse staff and another employee at Camelback Moving after office hours and they apologized and informed me that the movers would be at my apartment between 8-9am the next day. 5. The only contact I have had with my moving rep (Susan) since I asked about how the pricing is done was a phone call informing me that the move was delayed due to mechanical issues with the truck. I definitely appreciate the follow up from the company after I wrote them a complaint, but it seemed more like I was getting worked over than having my concerns addressed. It makes zero sense to me that my costs are the same when my original quote was made without the savings from a combined move. Really unfortunate experience and I will no longer be using this company or recommending them to anyone in the Valley. read more

Exceptional service! This is the best moving company in the Phoenix area. With my job I tend to move almost every year. This time instead of using a big national company, I decided to go with Camelback Moving and was glad I did. Out of all the movers I've used, these guys are the best. Here's why these movers are the best: 1) They return your calls right away. 2) They give you a quote over the phone and then follow up by email. You don't need to take an afternoon off work to have them walk through your place and look at stuff. 3) You have until 5 p.m. the day before the move to cancel without losing the $125 deposit. Some places never give it back if you change the date so this was amazing. 4) You pay by the hour and after the second hour, you pay in increments of 15 minutes so you never feel like you are getting ripped off. And here's my favorite reason: There are no hidden charges. My pet peeve with some movers is when they charge you a last minute "walking fee" because they had to walk more than 10 ft to your door. Camelback Moving doesn't do this. Finally, a reliable moving company that doesn't make you feel like you are being ripped off. Plus, Camelback Moving went out of their way to accommodate me with my moving situation. I had booked my move in advance and at the last minute I had to cancel due to problem with the condo I was moving to. Because I cancelled so close, I had expected to have to pay the 2 hour minimum as the guys were already on their way to my home. Steve from Camelback Moving was fantastic and told me I would only lose the $125 deposit. I was thrilled. BUT then he called me again later that afternoon saying they were able to book a last minute move during my time slot and he was going to refund all my money. Wow!!! I never expected that at all. Having previously had moving experiences that would make a haunted house shutter in fear (such as movers running out of gas, holding our bed hostage until we paid a higher-than-agreed-upon rate, and showing up with newbie movers who treated work like the Black Plague), we were pretty hesitant to hire movers again. But after our last experience (where we rented a truck and did the entire job ourselves - and lived to tell the tale!), we took the plunge; turning to Yelp testimonials for guidance as to who to hire. Well, I can tell you, when it was all said and done, that these people are first-rate. They arrived on time (not hours late), moved our prized possessions in what seemed like a flash of light (instead of like a snail in molasses), they didn't run out of gas, nor hold our bed hostage, nor show up with rookie movers that wouldn't lift a finger to help if their life depended on it. I used Camelback Moving in Oct 2018 to move items from an apartment into a storage facility. I couldn't be happier with their services nor can I find any room for improvement. They were perfect! I called to make the arrangements 1 month in advance. The office contacted me a few days prior to the move to double check that everything was in order. The day of the move, I was contacted regarding the window of time in which they would arrive. The team was on time, which made me happy. They were efficient in protecting certain items, packing up the truck and unloading to the storage locker. Camelback Movers were quick, efficient and friendly. Very happy I chose Camelback Moving. Very nice on the phone and good communication and informative emails with lots of instruction and they put their prices online and explain how the insurance stuff works very well. The guys brought the clothing boxes in first so I could load all my hanging stuff and with a little explanation of what was going they worked hard and fast. They were very considerate of moving my large flat-panel tv into my own truck with their padding as they explained it's an easier ride than their truck. Everything moved into the new condo (chandler to tempe move) and no issues with the 3-story new place I have - told them what floor things went on and good to go. My fiance and I decided to go with Camelback Moving because of all the great reviews we saw on-line. Our first impressions were great. We had Eric S., Eli and Richard doing our move. They showed up at the end of the window of time that they were supposed to be there, and started moving promptly. Everything I had was boxed and ready to go. They even complimented how organized I was. It took them two hours to get everything out of our 3rd story apartment. Man were they quick! We made sure they had food and water, sodas, etc and they seemed grateful. Now, lets get into where it went bad. At the end of them loading our apartment they tell us that their 2nd job of the day got canceled, which we thought nothing of until we got to our destination. It took them 4 hours to unload the truck and they didn't even have stairs to go up! Really?! One guy was texting every time he brought a load up (which happened to be the guy that broke my nice set of Martini Glasses), and when I told the foreman of the job that he wasn't working, his response was, "he has worked 9 days in a row, so we are taking it easy on him". Well I didn't pay for 3 guys to only have 2 of them working! It was frustrating that they took their sweet time since they had nothing else to do for the rest of the day. They even told me that unloading would be quicker than packing the truck! So all in all it was a very frustrating experience and I won't use this moving company again unless they change the way their movers perform. read more

There are a few reasons why I hired Camelback Moving: 1. Tons of awesome reviews. 2. Some Yelpers like Gabi, Dante, Darnell, and Stephanie all used Camelback and everyone seemed to like their services. 3. They were the most professional. I called 5 others to check for prices. I needed help loading up my truck because there was no way in hell I was going to do it myself. I'm too lazy to do it. My laptop gave me that look of, "Go to Yelp and just find a great mover", so I went down the list and called several. Some quoted higher prices, and some quoted lower (although the cheaper ones were less reputable). Camelback offered to beat any competitor's price (provided that they had the same BBB rating and a CDL license). I didn't bother. I knew that these would be the guys. On moving day, the three guys (Toby, Nick and Cody) showed up ON TIME, and loaded up my 26ft truck in 3 hours. They brought all of their own shrink wrap, were very respectful of my belongings, and did a thorough inspection beforehand....to make sure that I had enough space in the truck. They didn't take smoke breaks, or complain about the hot weather. They did their job, and did it well. I would definitely hire Camelback again....but I don't envision living in Arizona, ever again. If you happen to be there....use Camelback. They are the best. If you don't believe me, then read all the other reviews. Moving is never fun and honestly we were dreading the experience. The guys who showed up to pack us one day and move us the next were friendly, courteous, professional and extremely efficient. Boxes were carefully packed and well marked. My husband oversaw the packing while I was present to meet the truck when it arrived the next day. Five men: Zac, David, Sean, Solomon and Gabriel,were present to unpack the truck and again made the experience as pleasant as possible. Boxes were well marked and placed in the correct rooms. Beds were quickly assembled and they were accommodating when I changed my mind about where I wanted some heavier items set up. The guys pretty much ran back and forth for several hours carefully unloading the truck and finished up in good time. I couldn't be more pleased. Referred by concierge of the First Arizona Title Agent, I called Camelback Moving Company for a quote. The owner of the company, Chad, replied. We set up an appointment for the walk thru estimate. Larry came and gave a very professional estimate on almost every item in my house. In a spreadsheet, it showed the volume and total weight required on the move. That made the job much clear and precise. On the moving day, came two 26' trucks and four crews. They handled the move very efficiently. I'm really amazed they organized the space in the trucks so well that all my household items fit in. At the end of unloading, the foreman asked me to check the trucks if all goods were out. I said yes. A week later I found a step ladder was left out. They offered to bring it back to me which is a nice thing but I decided to pick it up myself. The experience with Camelback Moving Company was very good especially with Chad and Larry. They are always available and willing to answer my questions. Yet another case of Yelp serving it's purpose perfectly! I needed movers. I don't know any. Did a Yelp search, found Camelback Movers with fantastic reviews (including some from Yelp friends!) I called on a Tuesday and was able to schedule two men and a moving truck to be at my house between 7:30 and 9:30 Saturday morning. Andre and Tomas arrived at 8:30 and were amazing. In addition to being quick and careful (and strong as oxen!), they were both very friendly. Everything I had going with them was loaded on the truck, moved, and unloaded in about two hours. No damage on ANYTHING! Camelback moving also provides storage - and I had some items that just would not fit in the new place, but I am not willing to part with. The rate for the size storage was just about half of what other self storage facilities wanted! And - Camelback movers brought my stuff there. No extra effort on my part! I am thrilled with the service - from the initial call to arrange everything, to how quickly and easily the move went, to the final call I got later in the day confirming my grand total. I think we can all agree that moving sucks. I was thinking...do I ask my friends with trucks for help? Then I thought that after all the time we waste going back and forth and then I will probably have to buy then dinner...it just wasn't worth it. So I did my research, and decided that Camelback Moving was the best way to go! And my decision wasn't wrong! They are so extremely affordable...I was at first nervous because I was thinking you can't be that good and cheap at the same time. Wrong! They got everything from my apartment to my condo in 3 hours! The two guys, Mack and his right hand man (not sure of his name) were a pleasure to deal with. Very professional and personable at the same time! Even when I booked the appointment, I was speaking with the owner of the company. He was amazing as well. No job is too small for them and you get the same type of service even if I was moving into a mansion in Paradise Valley. I have used Camelback Moving Co. quite few times. I must say they are hands down the best in AZ. I have used other companies before and found some of my things dinged up or scratched. But not with these guys. I love how they wrapped everything in a protective wrap and take their time to make sure that everything is has the proper clearance. They also disassembled and reassembled my boys very expensive bunk bed set perfectly. I've found them to be very accurate with quoted time. They arrive within the time given and they have things moved within the time given. I had a team of 3. They had my 3 bedroom packed and unpacked in 3 hours. I called Camelback Moving about a month before my move to get a quote and also to get a feel how they operate. I was happy with all the information given to me on the phone, and I immediately booked them to move us from a 1st floor apartment to a 3rd floor. A few days before my move I received a call from their office (just as they said I would) to confirm my move date and they reminded me that the movers would give us a call between 7:30-9:00 on the day of the move to let us know they were on their way. On the day of the move at 7:40 I received a call from the movers (once again just as they said I would) saying they were on their way. They arrived at our apartment approximately 30 minutes later and once we did the paperwork they began working. We had 2 guys and 1 truck to move us. They were very professional, polite and courteous throughout our move despite the fact that it was 100+ degrees that morning. It took 4 hours on the dot to get our apartment done, and nothing was broken as they had taken the time to properly wrap our couches and other fragile things carefully before moving them. In the end we were very happy that we used Camelback Moving and would definitely use them again in the future!! read more

Chance was handling my move and he did a fantastic job. Very friendly and went as fast as he could given we had to use an elevator and I am on the fourth floor. I had one minor scratch on my entertainment center through the entire move, and he instantly told me to make a claim when he noticed it. I appreciated his integrity. This company was a little less then anywhere else that I called and they were very upfront about the time and cost right away, which again, I appreciated the honesty. I was in a short window to find a mover close to the holiday. On a referral from my realtor I called Camelback Moving. When they called me, I was given all the information and they answered all of my questions. They called me ahead of they the day before and the morning of the move. Brian, Kevin and Juan did a fabulous job of getting my things wrapped and on the truck in a most efficient manner. I may be the worst customer a moving company can deal with. And they dealt with me so well I can't help but give them five stars. With all the rave reviews I received from friends and yelp, I couldn't help but choose Camelback to help with my move. I didn't want to have to force my friends to help move my big items. I received a fair quote for moving the large items only. I soon realized though, that it was unrealistic for me to move all the boxes myself. However, I failed to inform them of this. When the movers arrived, they found lots of fun stuff to move. Did they complain? No. Did they yell at me? No. Did they tell me they needed more people? No. Did they tell me I had to reschedule? No. Nothing broke or was destroyed or lost, which has happened in nearly every other move I've ever had done. They came, moved what was there and did one hell of a job. It took longer, and I paid more, but it was very reasonable for the trick move I played on them. It's time for me to break out of my lurking shell and actually contribute. I've moved plenty of times before, but never with a piano in tow. Since my piano is fairly valuable, I decided to look for some professional help. Camelback Moving not had the best quote, but also the most professional person answering their phone (plus my realtor had recommended them), and I really liked their honestly pricing. One moving day, the truck actually arrived 15 minutes ahead of schedule. Once the clock started ticking it was go go go. The two guys didn't take a break or anything. They were fast but still careful not to damage my things or the walls. I was originally quoted 2 hrs. Everything was done in 2 hrs 15 min. The extra 15 min was because I added two items onto the list on moving day. The only time I had some misgivings was when they were loading the piano onto the truck. The ramp was wobbling and the guy pushing had trouble gripping with his shoes. Thankfully nothing happened and my piano arrived safe and sound. Use these guys if you need to move! read more

I gave them a one because I had to give something. I was moved by them recently, and right after had to have surgery so I did not get things unpacked quickly. Now that I was able to get things done I have found that I am missing some small items. Game controllers, one of which cost 64.00, that belong to my grandchildren are gone. Also, they left four carloads of items at my old house that they forgot to tell me about. I of course had to go to lock up, found the items and had to move them myself. They took apart lamps and threw the pieces of the lamps and the bulbs in a basket of dog toys that was on the floor! I would NEVER use this company again! I am 68 and I was not anticipating paying them and then having to move four carloads myself. Could be the reason I had to have surgery during this time of Covid19. Thanks for nothing! read more

I booked this company based on the reviews here on Yelp. Initially I was referred to another company that a friend had used. I called them and they were unable to accommodate my schedule or even offer anything close to it. I searched here and found the wonderful reviews posted. I called and spoke to Pam who was awesome. She answered my questions and worked with me to fit my schedule. On top of that - they were more competitively priced than the company I initially called. I also immediately received an email confirming what we discussed. The movers arrived on-time (early actually) and were very efficient. My place was loaded and moved in no time! They were professional and extremely helpful. This was the first time I've ever used a moving service - and now I wonder how I never did before. What would have taken me days took them hours and nothing was damaged! I would absolutely use them again and recommend them to anyone looking to hire movers. read more

Camelback moving was able to accommodate our needs to unload our furniture and household goods on short notice. Everything could have been a headache if we had to wait till the next morning to unload the moving pod. The 2 crew members were very nice and efficient with their work. The people at Camelback's office were very nice and helpful. The only thing we thought that was not right is the charging of $50 for use of a ramp for the first 1/2 hours, before our trucking service could deliver a ramp for the 28 foot pod. After all, the crew came with the similar size truck and it doesn't make sense to pay additional fee for the use of a ramp to load or unload from the truck. One would think that moving equipment lIke dolly, ladder, ramp, ropes, should be included in the hourly charge for loading or unloading. Review update 1/9/20 I was surprised that Chad read the review and voided the charge for the ramp. What a nice gesture of goodwill, which shows that it is a good company to do business with. Just moved two weeks ago on the hottest day of the tear so far (110!) and was grateful to have such an awesome team of 3 guys helping us move. Huge props to Rene, Alfonso, and Terrance for being hardworking, efficient, courteous and fun guys. We were really stressed about moving on such a tight schedule but these guys took the edge off and made us feel like we were in good hands. They were timely and quick, but treated all of our furniture with care. And they all had excellent communication- being sure to ask us where we wanted things or how we preferred things to be moved- which ensured that our stuff arrived safely and placed where we wanted it. Plus they worked hard in hot weather and were still smiling and joking at the end of the move! It was also easy to get a hold of someone at the office to schedule a move date- I had called a few places and Camelback was very professional in asking questions about my move in order to give me an accurate quote. I felt like they took the time to explain the process and answer my questions. I would definitely use them again! read more
