Camelback is GREAT, especially Heath and Jammie! Two guys doing the work of four! I'm an experienced mover (21 times in 45 years and worked for a nat'l moving co years ago!) and these guys are truly professional. I used them to move several heavy pieces and larger bulky items. They padded and shrink wrapped all of the furniture, loaded tool chest and appliances and carefully loaded everything to suit our plans for placement in the new house. Plus they worked quickly and without pause the entire time. They were cautious to be sure that our doorways and walls were unharmed, unlike prior experiences with others. After I had a flood in my house last year, Camelback Moving stored my belongings for several months while my house was being repaired. Once repairs were completed and Camelback returned everything, I discovered that not only had they lost a number of important items, including a digital camera, but they had also broken some lamps and a rocker/recliner. Lamps I can understand getting broken if they are not packed correctly, but I have to wonder how someone breaks a rocker/recliner so badly that the the back no longer remains upright. And when they returned it they left it propped up against a wall because they knew it was broken and didn't want to tell me about it. In addition, I found a number of items that did not belong to me, which I notified Camelback about so they could be returned to their owners (I doubt they ever did). When I spoke to their claims adjuster he asked me what had been lost and when I mentioned the digital camera he commented that they might have it because they had a number of lost cameras (???). I filed a claim and they offered me insultingly low compensation for the damages. I'm sure they were counting on me being tired of dealing with insurance claims adjusters, and they were right. I just wanted to cut my losses and move on at that point. I would never recommend Camelback Movers to anyone. If they screwed up this badly on simple storage, I can only imagine how they would mess up a move across city or state. After reading all of the raving reviews on Yelp, I couldn't wait to have Camelback Moving handle my move from Ahwatukee to Cave Creek. I must say that the move went pretty smoothly, the movers were top notch and a class act, and there was practically nothing broken in the move. So, you're probably wondering what is up with the three star rating? My only issue, and this case it was a pretty "expensive" issue, was the fact that they way underestimated the cost of my move. I called their office to inquire about a quote and I was expecting that someone would be coming to my home to assess the situation and give me a quote. Instead, I was asked several questions about the size of my house, how many rooms, how many pieces of furniture, etc, etc. It was concluded that my move would cost approximately $1700 including packing materials. I indicated that I suspected I had more stuff than the average Joe, yet I was told that they do this every day and that this would be approximately what the total would be. Just to clarify, they charge hourly, not by the job so this was an estimate based on the number of people that they thought it would take to do the job. I asked, "so if I budget $2000 for this move, would it be safe to say the cost won't exceed that?" The reply was, "you will absolutely be safe with that budget." That said, I booked the move and we were off and running. So, moving day rolls around and the movers show up right on time. There were three men on the job. We walked the house and they indicated that the three should be able to have everything packed in one day as planned. So, I left the house and went to work. I get a call at about noon that it's been determined that I have more "clutter" than they were expecting and that it would take another 2-3 guys and another full size truck to complete the move on schedule. Because I had to be out of the house the next day, I agreed and had the additional movers come over. They worked until about 7pm and the cost for day 1 was about $1700. Keep in mind, everything still has to be moved to my new house. The plan for day 2 was to have 3 guys but again because I have so much "clutter" they had to send more people. I won't drag out the details of day 2 but they didn't finish unpacking until about 11pm and the cost for day 2 was another $1700. So, the total was something like $3600 because I had also put down a deposit. They ended up giving me a few hundred dollars off because they missed the mark by only a few thousand dollars but it was better than nothing. Aside from the cost being twice as much as I had planned on, I really don't think it's appropriate to use the word "clutter" when you're talking about someones home and their possessions. When I hear the word "clutter" I think Sanford & Son. Trust me, my family and I don't live like Sanford & Son. Yes, we have a lot of stuff but I tried to communicate that from the beginning. At the end of the day, I would still recommend this company because the guys that showed up to do the work are simply the best you will find in town. I would just warn that if your gut instinct tells you that you think you may have a bit more "clutter" than the average Joe, you should insist that they come out and assess your home before giving you an estimate that they can't live up to. read more

Now we've bought a new house a year later and used Camelback again. They are amazeballs, so professional, efficient and incredibly nice. Had a wonderful experience with Camelback Movers! Set up was pretty easy, just reached out via Yelp and got an answer back in no time. Everything was very clear and straight forward, no hidden fees. The only thing they don't have completely nailed downs is keeping notes up-to-date, and I mean on smaller things like calling my husband the day of the move or always having email responses checked. Before the move they call to confirm most everything and get things straight. The moving team was awesome! Nick, Josh and Rene called before they arrived, came in and introduced themselves and took great care with all of our belongings. When they had questions they asked. We moved from a 3rd floor one bedroom to a one story home and it only too them 2 hours (note: we broke down our furniture and packed things up ourselves). Just moved to new place in downtown phoenix. Though it was only 1.2 mile distance and one bedroom furniture. The guys were wonderful and extremely professional and without a frown they managed my move with ease and not a single scratch on my furniture or any mishandling of my glassware and 70 inches curve screen television which I was very worried about. What can I say? Yelp said they were the best and the simple fact is: THEY ARE! Camelback Moving is the BEST moving company I have ever had the pleasure to move with. My wife and I are fairly recent arrivals from Canada. We don't have a reference point on anything down here. We rely on Yelp for guidence. From the first phone call I made to their friendly knowledgeable and efficient office staff onward it was as good a moving experience as could be. The 3 man crew Osborne, Thomas and Reuben were great. They arrived early, were courteous, professional, efficient and CAREFUL with our stuff! They asked me for direction on what/where/when/how and like a well-oiled machine simply got the job done. They blanketed, shrink-wrapped, disassembled. reassembled, provided wardrobe boxes for hanging clothes and never complained about any of the loose crap I didn't bother to pack. How do you pack a rickety Ikea shoe rack anyway? The only thing that was even close to mildly akward was that Osborne the crew leader was so polite and respectful he kept calling me Sir all day! He doesn't know me. He was awesome. I felt kinda old, was flattered and felt like saluting all at the same time. The rates were charged EXACTLY as quoted. NO HIDDEN FEES OR CHARGES! They didn't lollygag to run the clock. They just did it they way it should be done. I happily tipped each man some cash, as anyone with good manners knows to ALWAYS TIP THE GOOD MOVERS!! They work harder for you than ANY server/cabbie/doorman/valet/take-out-guy has every worked for you. You put your material life in their capable hands and they carry that heavy load around all day. Appreciate when they turn a blind-eye to that embarrassing (fill-in-the-blank) that was still under your bed when they lifted the slats! Acknowledge that they provide a soothing balm to your frazzled moving-day nerves when they arrived and you still hadn't started packing the kitchen. ALWAYS PACK THE KITCHEN FIRST! A little disappointed with our 2nd moving experience with Camelback Moving. First time..AMAZING. Very careful with our stuff, fast and clean. 2nd time...not so much. They scraped up the front door trying to get my small refrigerator in the door and damaged the freezer door. I had to get out the pliers to bend a piece of metal back into place to get the freezer to close. Coffee table scratched, leather couch scratched up a bit. They were pretty quick with the amount of stuff we have but still a little disappointed that they did not cover or wrap everything on the way out. I was also a little disappointed when, when they thought they were done, I asked them if they had room for a couple additional smaller items and they said 'I don't think so..'. I'm pretty sure there was room and that just made more work for me...more trips back and forth in my car to get the rest of the stuff. I never received a Comment Card otherwise I would have written these comments down and sent them directly to the company. Anyway, I'd probably use them again but will be sure to request the crew I had the first time. JD read more

I've used Camelback Moving twice; Labor Day 2014 (Barstow, CA to Phoenix) and then an in town move here in Phoenix back in February of 2015. The two moves were seamless AND stress free. The move from Barstow was tough (in my opinion) on the two gents because they had come from Vegas with a semi and couldn't park their trailer close to my apartment. As such, they had to maneuver through the apartment complex with heavy furniture but not a single complaint from either of them. I believe their names were Cody and Roberto...top notch! On my second move, (I forgot their names), the two gents had to put up with my yelling (not directed against them but at the apartment complex management company who did not install a working air conditioner motor). They continued their move (up and down the stairs) promptly and without any damage to my belongings. Again, a top notch team! Both times the teams were on time, respectful, and courteous. The billing department was honest and even refunded me a portion of the second move as they had accidentally overcharged me. They are the best! read more

Beware... OK...So here is my story. I have moved several times and hired movers. This was the first time I was hiring a company to keep my items for months. They state its a climate controlled warehouse. So they come.......and the guys doing the work are great!! Love them. So...We figure out that we don't want to live in Phoenix any more and are going to move to the mountains. We decide to rent a U-Haul and have CM (Camelback Moving) load our truck and we will move and unload it ourselves. I call and ask if we can sign a disclosure for there blankets that are wrapped around our furniture.....noting we would get them back by Friday (our move date is a Wednesday). I have a very nice lady check and she calls me back to state they (CB) will not pro rate blanket rental ($4.00 a month or $12.00 each to buy) and I should go through uhaul for a better price. Well... I am so upset at the stupidity of that, I tell her to call me later and that I was going to post my story on Yelp. I get a call from Chad (an owner) within an hour. He states its not normally done but he will work with me. In the end I give a $600.00 deposit for what they figure is around 60 blankets. I told him that I would return the blankets at the latest by Friday. Well................I show up to their warehouse in Mesa at 830 on Wednesday, June 13th. The guys doing the work are great!!!!! But there "climate controlled warehouse" is 99 degrees or better. I leave...they call to say they are done. I come back and find my U-Haul loaded and the guys soaked in sweat. OK... I go to sign the final paperwork. The last page states I HAVE to turn the blankets in within 24 hours. I call Chad. He states "This is so out of our normal and I am really helping you out" I was like....I just gave you 600 bucks in deposit to be sure we will give you your property back. Bottom line...............We got them back. I was funny as they didn't even know how many we really had!!!! they were like...OK...I guess you got them all back! Done Be aware.................As we were unfolding THIER blankets we found the following. We had a hose for a vacuum cleaner wrapped up all by itself!! We uncovered much like this, and at 4 bucks a month....they got a scam going on here. I think the craziest one was a 7 inch plastic step stool wrapped up all by itself!! REALLY???? So if you are going to have them do your work...Then go point to point. DONT RENT STORAGE OR BLANKETS FROM THEM. There LACK of climate control caused me 125 candels (they melted). read more

Camelback Movers just moved us from tri-level condo in Phoenix to our home in California. In addition they packed up our small storage unit at a different location. The walk through was very detailed and professional. Quote was very reasonable. Communication level was great. They came promptly to pack up the truck. Delivery was on time as well. I appreciated that there was continuity of a staff member with our belongings from Phoenix to LA. Can't comment on any broken items in boxes as I have not unpacked yet but on cursory glance furniture looks good. Definitely recommend anyone to move with them. read more

Update: I received a call from Chad, the president of the company, who was sincerely apologetic of the miss. He explained that this is their busy season, but then stated that there is no excuse for the delays in my follow up. In addition to a sincere apology, he issued a credit for the services I was displeased with, assured me that they will discuss and correct the issues that led to my frustrations, and even compensated me for the headache. He offered to send a crew out to fix the TV's, though I had already corrected them. All in all, I genuinely believe that this was an oversight that is not demonstrative of the experience that most have with this company. I'm therefore adjusting my star rating to reflect the end state of my dealings with Camelback moving. I will likely use them again the next time my family requires moving services due to the personal nature of the followup. TL;DR ... Moving services are good, avoid add on services and don't expect Larry to do anything but give you lip service. Don't get the tv mounting service!!! I'll start with the positives, and they are significant. The 2 moves I scheduled on consecutive weekends went very well, movers showed up on time, were professional, and took care in moving our belongings. All things you want from a moving company. The issues appear in the add on services. I was sold a floor protection package that included materials to lay out protective coverings on our floors and carpets. When the movers arrived, they started moving without laying down the coverings. When I asked, they said it really takes a lot of time, but they'd do it if I really wanted them to. They clearly didn't want the hassle. All said, this is trending towards a 3-4 star review, right? Enter the TV mounting service. I was also sold this on the phone. I was told that mounting hardware would be provided and there would be a $55/hr charge. I was good with all that, and stated that I had a mount, but they told me that it could not be used since had been mounted before. Ok, no big deal. The mounter guy shows up and immediately asks where all my mounts are. Clearly I didn't have any hardware since it was explained that all would be provided. He tells me that he'll go to Home Depot, but it'll cost me the hourly rate. Fine, I said...just please get it done. An hour later I get a call that they can't use their company account, so I need to drive down... In the middle of my move ... To pay for the hardware. I oblige and we make our way back to the house. It took him 4 hours to mount 4 TV's, all with pre run cable runs in the wall. TVs were all smudged, cables were hanging down, and 2 of the 4 were crooked. In addition, they took all the extra hardware that I literally just purchased. Larry, their customer service guy, called me after each move. Both times I tell him that I'm not too pleased with the add ons, the 2nd time he called, I asked him to look into it. Larry acted very concerned and told me he'd call back. That never happened. I called back twice and never received a call back. I never asked for refunded services or anything, though my expectation that dealing with a company of this caliber would yeild a degree of follow up. Extremely disappointing, and I would have rather just not have gotten a customer service call as opposed to some false concern and a failed commitment to follow up. For what this company charges, you'd be better going with someone else. There are plenty of reputable companies in the valley who won't put you through the ringer. Happy hunting... read more

I found Camelback Moving here on Yelp, and I'm glad I did! They called to confirm the appointment 2 days before, and then the morning of to say they were on their way. My movers, Mark and Alex, were extremely friendly and made the move so smooth. They wrapped all my furniture in plastic to protect it during the move and while it was in storage. Very good prices - $75/hour for 2-man crew plus an $85 flat fee to cover gas, plastic, etc. Also, they have a great rating with the Better Business Bureau! I highly recommend them! read more

Well I had to take away a star..From the attachment from my receipt I was under the impression that I would receive a $50 referral fee for my referrals. When my friend booked with them (and they didn't ask who referred her) I called them. It turns out they only give out referral fees for state to state moves. Well that sucks.. I know A LOT more people that move within the state than move out of state. Too bad if there was a $50 referral fee I would go out of my way to recommend. Now Im left kind of disappointed.. I had another referral for them,.. but now i just dont feel like making the effort. read more

John and Leo were wonderful. They moved us without a hitch. And they wrestled a very unwieldy sofa bed t through a window and over the patio fence then through the apartment to the truck. They didn't bat an eyelash and did it with a smile and a lot of muscle. Not a dent, not a scratch. Two very good natured and capable guys who couldn't have been friendlier or more efficient. Camelback was recommended by Lea, our sales person at the Room Store. I had my doubts but they lived up to and beyond expectations. The price was right and the service was fantastic. If you want a professional company to make your move easier, let me save you some trouble. Stop looking at other companies and just use Camelback Moving. I spoke with Anthony regarding an estimate and he was helpful, informative, and not pushy. He sent me an estimate right away with all the information we had discussed. After looking at other companies and their awful reviews I decided to go ahead and book with Camelback Moving. The prices were as stated in the estimate. They called 3 days before my move to verify everything was still in order. The morning of my move they called 45 minutes before they were leaving their offices to let me know they were on the way. The two gentleman who moved my items were quick, efficient, wrapped everything, and courteous to deal with. Everyone I dealt with over the phone and in person was professional and courteous. All of my items were safe and sound and I really think this company is outstanding. I would absolutely use them again and I recommend them to anyone. read more
