First off I have to Thank the crew Alex-Israel and Matt for going above and beyond wrapping our furniture and household items and pictures. They had a very busy morning packing and loading that big truck and by the time they got to our new home I had to make them stop so we could all share a nice lunch. We have very large pieces and they never seemed bothered or overwhelmed , even wrapping a very big Christmas present and hiding it in a spare bedroom so a family member would not see. A complete waste of time! I called for a quote and they assumed I could not afford two trucks before I could spell out what I needed and my budget. After transferring me twice to a very rude woman who took my call in their local move department, it turned out they did not have any of the dates available. I try to overlook my disappointment and I keep discovering that I have not reached the bottom yet. I moved from Phoenix to San Diego in December of 2012. Why did I take so long to write this review you ask?? I tried to forget how angry I was and suppress the feelings of letting these thieves get away with how we were treated. I have helpful hints for you.. When they put a numbered sticker on the box and record that box on the ledger, this is good. When they don't put a sticker on a box and move it to the truck, you have no record this box ever existed. Thus, the box disappears!?! You can't say it ever existed because you didn't see all 400 boxes load onto the truck. They have a license to steal from you and they do. What am I missing? Drill, drill bits, iphone3, battery charger, saw zall, Harley air shocks. You ask why I didn't put in a claim?? I did, and they said all boxes were accounted for on the ledger. Of course it was. Back to my earlier point. If you don't personally, watch every sticker going on every box, before they load it on the truck, they are stealing your belongings. I went with these guys because of good reviews and the pricing was right in the middle of all 8 quotes I received. I spent over $5000 dollars and I was dumb enough to tip them $400 and I bought them pizza, drinks, burgers. I'm such and idiot. I paid camelback to steal from me and take no responsibility. Hey, your asking what about the insurance they offer? If the box didn't get noted on the ledger, it doesn't ever exist. No compensation! I paid $700 for the additional insurance they recommend, because they only pay by weight at .60 cents a pound when they damage your belongings. Well, that insurance sucks too. They make every effort to not pay for anything. Ever have been talked into buying the extended service plan on something you bought? When you came in with a problem they said "That isn't covered" well, this is it. I'm warning you now so you can't say you didn't know. How about when they moved my perfectly functioning treadmill from AZ to SD?? They damaged it and took no responsibility for it. In fact they said we broke it. I told the mover it was broken and he said "We will handle this, just call the office" I did and same old story. We have no proof it worked before it left your house. Oh, but there is proof. My wife took pictures of everything functioning and in perfect shape. They still insist we broke it. Nice guys do get screwed. Don't be next on the list. Find another mover as there are a lot out there who won't steal and damage your things. Do not buy the BS insurance from the 3rd party. If you want to feel better take $700 and go to the roulette wheel and bet on black. That insurance isn't worth the ink you use to sign it. read more

I hired Camelback Moving Co. back in March when the pandemic hit. Not only where they careful and diligent when they packed up my boxes, they've been amazing throughout the last 9 months I've had my boxes in storage. I was only expecting to have the storage unit (i.e. vault) for a couple months, but due to current events, my things have been in storage longer than expected. To be quite honest, there's no where else I'd rather have my belongings stored. Chad, the owner, was insanely helpful when it came time for me to retrieve some items out of my vault. David was my helper and he was more than accommodating. He even helped secure my boxes into the back of my jeep! There's a reason why this company has a 5-star rating - they give 5-star service! I decided to hire movers to move out of my two bedroom townhome and Camelback Moving had the best reviews on Yelp. I called for a qoute and it sounded reasonable. The movers called exactly as they were supposed to- once to give me an estimated arrival time and once to tell me they were on their way. They were polite and professional. Absolutely nothing got messed up in the move across town. I only gave them three stars because I believe it took them about two hours longer than it should have. I had a two bedroom townhome with average furniture and I ended up paying for 5 1/2 hours.... 15 of which was just the guy filling out the paperwork.... another 15 was him trying to fix the truck. Two other members of my family have moved this year with the help of movers and they both said it shouldn't have taken that long. read more

This is the second time we have used Camelback moving and we were very pleased both times. We were remodeling our house and rented a pod so that all furniture could be moved out making it easy for the painters and the carpet people to be able ti come in and do their work without having to move all our furniture around. We had to change the dates a few times to coincide with the painters and carpeting people and Dan made that happen for us. We got the best service from the office staff and the movers. I am sorry I didn't get their names as they were very professional and efficient and took great care with all our items. We will never us this company again. there was an incredible amount of damage to our furniture including family pictures that have been irreversible damaged. when we called there representative he said to go ahead and sue him, that the judges always rule in their favor. You should ask to see their claims policy and what you have to fill out when you have damages. You will pass on using Camelback moving. By the way the pictures on their web site, in no way look like how they treated our move. we will probably be in a Law Suit for over $9,000. read more

This was my first experience with using a moving company and I was very happy with my choice. I picked them because of their good reviews and their quote was very reasonably priced. I asked several of my friends that have moved recently about the movers they used, and every single one of them said they would not recommend the companies they chose. Luckily I found Camelback Moving on Yelp. Robert, Richard, and Richard were very courteous. They had us completely moved in about three hours and were willing to move around the furniture as we saw fit. Luckily I didn't have a lot of furniture so I didn't take up too much of their time with that, but I thought it was nice of them to offer. These movers seemed to be careful (with nothing breaking), and asked me to look in the back of their truck to confirm everything was out. This was an interstate move from Phoenix to Los Angeles requiring selected items to be loaded from a storage unit in my absence and delivered to me. Camelback (Andrew and Josie) was very patient during the six months prior in that I had to plan a trip to Phoenix in order to personally remove certain other small items I wanted to move myself. When the time came, they sprang into action. Andrew met me at the storage unit to document which items I wanted Camelback to move. Then it was just a matter of when they had another shipment coming to Los Angeles because they accommodated me by including my few items with another load. Within one week, my items were scheduled for pick up and delivery. Chance and Joe were my movers. They were very friendly, polite, and professional. Chance communicated with me every step of the way. He called to inform me when they planned to arrive at the storage unit and called me from the storage unit to confirm the items to be loaded and returned the door keys to the storage facility office as instructed. After completing the first delivery, they had time to deliver my items the same day instead of the next day as scheduled, which was more convenient for me. The furniture pieces were securely wrapped and padded and arrived in perfect condition. There were no extra fees or hidden charges. I paid exactly what Andrew and I had agreed upon which I considered a very fair price. Making arrangements long distance can be stressful, but the service I received from Camelback was reassuring from the moment I first contacted them. The staff went out of its way to accommodate my needs. Being able to avoid the hassle and pressure involved in renting a truck, driving to and/or from my destinations, hiring labor to load in Phoenix and unload in Los Angeles, etc. was a tremendous relief. I will start off with the positives. First, they were on time. Second, they seemed to be very careful with our stuff. Although, we did lose a piece of our vanity, in general I saw that they were very careful. But with that said, they were very slow. We had the same amount of stuff moving from our townhome to this house and it nearly took half the time with Just-In Time Movers. It took them 5 1/2 hours for a 3 bedroom, everything all packed to another single story house 3 miles away! To top it off, they wanted to stop and get drinks at the gas station and asked for water. While it is summer, in this field I would think they would think they'd come a little more prepared. They didn't charge me for the stop but I had cleaners waiting for them to finish, contractors waiting for them to complete, and we had to clean up before picking up our toddler from day care. I will say that I would recommend Just-In time moving after this experience. They were very professional plus fast. Pretty disappointing experience with Camelback Moving. read more

This is the best and easiest move we have ever made! Our third move in four years - and this put all others to shame! Mack, Devin, and Jonathan were incredible. They arrived on time and went to work immediately. They never complained or questioned anything we had for them to move. One item, our entertainment center, was enormous. But they worked together to get it out of our apartment and into our new house as if it were a normal piece of furniture. We had lunch together, but Mack stopped the clock while we ate. PROS: The staff who provide the estimates were very courteous and professional and explained in detail what was covered in their quoted rate. We paid for 3 movers and the actual time to complete the move was less than estimated, in part to being well prepared and packed for the move. All three movers were professional (for the most part - see below in CONS), friendly, and spoke fluent English. Furniture was wrapped and protected well, with only minor dings on some pieces. CONS: While moving a fire pit from the rear yard to the moving truck at the front of the house, one of the movers ran a leg of the table across the stucco of the house for about 15 feet, seriously gouging the wall, which will require stucco and paint repair. We bought breakfast/lunch for the movers and tipped very well; in return the movers left their food wrappers in our driveway. read more

Yelp comes through again. After a most unsatisfying move from Sacramento to Phoenix with a national chain a couple of years ago, it was time to move back to Sacramento. After reading through the reviews, I called Camelback for an interstate move back to California. Now, they are not the cheapest movers so if you are going only for price, this isn't the interstate mover for you. But if you want someone to handle your possessions carefully and respectfully - this is a great company to choose. Camelback doesn't price according to weight which makes them more expensive. They estimate your load and give you a firm price. Simon and his crew arrived right on time, handled packing breakables for me and loading all in six hours. They were very helpful in holding my furniture over the holidays in the same truck and Simon delivered my household goods exactly when they said they would and unloaded them carefully into the garage of my new house. Moving your household items is a service that must be based on trust and I can highly recommend Camelback as a trustworthy, caring moving company. read more

I've just finished my 3rd move using Camelback Moving. They were perfect, as usual. I especially want to thank Zac and John H., because not only were they speedy and efficient, Zac did a little temporary repair on an antique dresser that I own. This poor dresser, which I need to have repaired, has 3 wobbly legs and one detached one, and always has to be propped back up when it reaches its destination. Zac used some tape around it to hold it in place until I have it repaired. I even let them move a lamp for me, which I normally move myself since I've had lamps broken multiple times during a move (not Camelback Moving). They assured me it would make it, and it did. As always, they were friendly, super-efficient, on-time, and did not leave a single ding or scratch on the walls or furniture. Camelback movers had a huge and difficult move on their hands with my job! They had to move a 6000 sq ft medical office and move it to 3 different suites! I can't say enough good things about my experience from beginning to end! Chris Sherman and his guys are AMAZING! He promised me he would take care of me and he certainly did! All of his movers were hard working, fast, and extremely polite and professional! There was very little damage in the move! I don't understand people thinking you can avoid any damage in a move! We had a very challenging move due to an issue with our closing date. Our house move in and painting overlapped and it was quite stressful on our end. Moving in itself is one of the most stressful things in life and we felt the added stress of a disorganized closing from our lender put this move over the top.
