Do not give this place your business! To sum up the experience shortly: 1) Terrible communication 2) Received the "run around" treatment 3) I had billing questions after our trip and COULD NOT reach anyone. We were charged a $240 for something I can't seem to get an answer for! I tried calling the billing department, without luck and, on a side note, the direct phone number for the billing department on their website is wrong. A woman answered and gave me the correct number. She has been receiving calls and expressed how she wished they would correct their website! I sat on hold for 45 minutes and then was disconnected. Long version: I booked a room in December for February. Camelback resort was running a promotion at the time for discounted tubing vouchers. I was told to look for an email with the vouchers and to book the time slot when I receive the email. I never received the email. I called three more times, the month before our trip to try and book our time slot, explaining we never received the email. I was told different instructions each time I called, even being promised that the slots never book up and I would be fine to book the tubing at check in. I even called on our way to the resort and voiced my concern because we wanted to go tubing at night and then hit the waterpark the next day. The receptionist said all times were open and schedule the time when we check in. When we arrived, we were told the check in desk does not book tubing times and we had to go to Guest Services, but they were closed. I spoke to a manager, and he was able to retrieve our tubing vouchers, but my husband had to go to a different location, outside of the hotel to book our tubing time for the evening. My husband stood in line, outside for 20 minutes, just to find out all time slots for the evening were full. So, the next day, after the waterpark, we had to figure out a way to completely dry off and then go tubing in -20-degree weather and wind. We let all of this slide because we did not want to ruin our daughter's birthday with bad attitudes. When we got home, we noticed a charge on our credit card that we had a question about. I have tried multiple times to speak to someone in the billing department, with no luck!!! I decided to call the front desk to speak to a manager and sat on hold for 40 minutes, just to be disconnected. I went on a snowy weekend with my family and it started out great. The bellhops were super sweet and our room was amazing. We got there around 12 pm and went to get lunch downstairs in the lobby. The only food place open in sight was a place called Graffiti Pizza. They messed up 4 people's orders including mine, and took an hour to make. Not to mention it was so small. Aquatopia was nice and fun. We wanted to go skiing and snow tubing the next day and we couldn't because there was no availability and it was so crowded. My family didn't get to do much and we just stood in lines all day. I probably wouldn't go back but if i did i would go on a weekday not the weekend. read more

Due to upcoming inclement rainy weather I wanted to cancel my lift tickets that were more than 3 days away. When you call, you spend 30 minutes on hold before you spend another 30 minutes on hold with the representative who said they can't cancel them only move them to another day. I let the representative know we have information in writing from Camelback that says we are allowed to cancel and be refunded. They then requested a refund, but its not guaranteed... what???? So now I need to wait an day to see if they will cancel it. I am still going up there, but were going to go to the Camelback Water Park instead, now I don't want to do that either. read more

I have a 'pro hack' when it comes to (waterpark) resorts... you need to go in like it's a casino and expect to lose/spend (too much) money. It really lessens the pain... otherwise I'd be giving this place 1 or 2 stars. Clean, spacious rooms. (I'm not sure I'll ever understand or be comfortable with the 'sink is outside of the bathroom' that seems to be a 'thing' with waterpark-resorts in PA.) Overlooking the usual gripes (one-ply toilet paper, towels not big enough for the average adult) in our room our A/C constantly dripped water and I only found out the hard way when my luggage was wet because there was a three-foot-in-diameter "wet spot" on the carpet. (Our AC unit also had a 'leak' that went outside into our ground-level patio floor as well.) Them having the nerve to charge you for parking (I mean... they have this massive parking lot with countless spaces for cars already!) and it's twice as much for their valet service?! Awful. They tack on a 'resort fee' (daily) that goes on top of the overall cost, not to mention parking charges and... They automatically add 18% gratuity. Seems fair when you're having breakfast, right? But when it's just a drink (or two)? Woof. What we dug: you text room service and they were always quick to replace/replenish towels and they came to do a quickie-room-spruce usually around dinnertime when we were out which worked out perfectly for us. Ideal age range for kids: 9 to 12. (My kids are on the cusp of turning 15 and had 'aged out' of a few parts of the place that would've kept them entertained for a longer spell.) "AQUATOPIA" (indoor waterpark) - not as big as DreamWorks' indoor waterpark (much closer to where I live) but this was a blast. Expect to get your steps in and have those calves burning from all the stairs you'll be climbing but it doesn't get much better than experiencing the "Venus SlydeTrap" or "Storm Chaser" with your family. "CAMELBEACH" (outdoor waterpark) - bigger and badder (meant positively!) and with more rides for my entire family (of 4) to partake in together. Probably my favorite 'section' of Camelback. "ARCADIA" - two levels with a bit of everything... from money-wasters (for those just looking to accumulate "tickets") to bumper cars to escape rooms (we did one and won! - but needed two clues because some of those puzzles were insane), laser tag (my very first time going to one of them and I absolutely loved it!), rock climbing, regular arcade games, etc. FOOD OPTIONS: (the legit joints will get their own Yelp reviews but a quick summary...) not too many places overall. Overall favorite: Trails End (hands down) Overall worst: Graffiti Pizza (absolutely atrocious) OUTDOOR ADVENTURES: after checking-in we dove right in and hit the 'Mountain Coaster' and it was awesome. Was it really worth almost $80 for a family of four? No way. (For the cost they should've let you go two times, right?) I still loved it - and that's coming from a guy afraid of roller coasters. We tried - but failed - to book the 4,000' zipline adventure and my kids weren't interested in the UTV rentals, sunbowl tubing or the segway tours. (Some looked more promising than others but each will cost a pretty penny to do, of course.) "WE CARD EVERYONE" - momma mia, this one. First off: they really do. But... who the heck is carrying around their wallet or driver's license when you're soaking wet from the lazy river or even sneaking off to Oasis for an adult beverage when your kids are hitting The Constrictor (ride) for the umpteenth time. If we're able to send passengers to the edge of space to make Jeff Bezos even richer - I do believe you can make your resort-bracelet to also include our ID/age to be used in place of our actual license. The resort was (mostly) well-kept and clean. (I can't knock them if this arcade game had a wet towel on it, or that flight of stairs had junk on them or finding cigarette butts where it clearly states NO SMOKING... these were my fellow vacationers that try their best to ruin it for everyone else.) This is going to be a pretty extensive review of the hotel room, food services, arcade, and Auqatopia, so please hang in there with me! When my family and I arrived at Camelback for an overnight mountain getaway, we received a "passport" containing our bracelets that double as room keys, information brochures, and menus for the on-site restaurants. I thought this was a great touch to help us get acclimated and feel welcomed to the resort. We found our room after weaving through a hallway of neon green and gray carpeting (a little too "ninja turtle" for my taste, but hey, at least it was all clean!) We stayed in a suite with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a sitting area with a couch, table setting, and TV. The room had everything that we could possibly need--from extra pillows to complimentary shampoo and conditioner. I'm usually wary of hotel showers due to the bad water pressure and cheap soap, but I was pleasantly surprised with the shower/bath combo in the Camelback room. The water pressure was perfect and the shampoo and conditioner smelled nice and didn't mess up my hair. The beds were extremely comfy, perfect for a restful night's sleep after a crazy night of waterslides. Speaking of the water park, it was nothing short of AWESOME! I remember visiting Aquatopia when I was much younger, and I think I had even more fun at this trip than I did when I was a kid! The park is split up by "age group", with a splash pad for toddlers near the wave pool by the entrance, a tower of smaller slides near the lazy river, and larger, more "extreme" slides in the back. There are two floors of lounge space, and I chose to sit on the second floor by the bigger slides because the chairs were more spread out with more room to relax. The chairs by the wave pool were packed together in tight rows, which made me feel a little claustrophobic. Since we visited on a Wednesday night during the offseason, there were no lines for the water slides and we could do every ride in about an hour. The Venus Slydetrap was certainly one of my favorites, as it combined a water coaster with a "river rapids"-type ride, complete with a "toilet bowl" element. The raft fits up to 6 people, so bring all your friends on this one! Another one of the best slides had a touchscreen where riders could select a "theme" for the ride, complete with music and flashing lights. I went down the slide four times to try out all four themes, and if felt like a totally different slide each time! I loved the personalized experience this ride offered. Another hit with my family was the lazy river. It had an "Indiana Jones"-Esque theme, and I was very impressed with the decorations. It seemed like a lazy river one would see at a Disney World water park! Finally, we really enjoyed the indoor/outdoor hot tub. Relaxing in a hot tub in the mountains was a magical Poconos experience. Another thing I really appreciated about Aquatopia was that there were several lifeguards on duty. There were at least two lifeguards at each water attraction, and they were all pretty friendly and attentive. Aquatopia offers complimentary towels, so don't worry about lugging some over in your suitcase! If you get hungry during your trip, Auqatopia has a snack shack and a bar, but make sure you bring your ID to the water park! Aquatopia always cards. Connected to Auqatopia is Arcadia. Arcadia has several arcade games, a hall of mirrors, three themed escape rooms, and four lanes of duck pin bowling! You could spend DAYS in Arcadia without getting bored. There's another "food court" in Arcadia, but it closes earlier than the restaurants on the main floor, so I didn't get to try it. The arcade cards pre-loaded with "credits" are pretty expensive, but there are lots of deals and discounts. My family ate dinner off-site, but we stopped by the sweet shop in the lobby for dessert. While the display of the desserts was pretty, I was less than impressed with the taste of my black and white cookie. My sister didn't enjoy her cookie either, and she ended up throwing it away. However, the food at the Trails End Bar and Grill looked pretty good. Keep in mind, meals are separate and there is no included food with your stay. Finally, I was extremely impressed with the hundreds of activity options offered at the hotel! Since it's spooky season, there were a lot of Halloween-themes events. However, there are activities fit for all ages and interests! I would love to have a longer stay at Camelback, and maybe I can try my hand at skiing next time! read more

BEWARE! Nowhere on the snow tubing ticket link (screenshots attached) does it say the tickets are for 2 HOURS ONLY from time of reservation, but are promoted as "Day Passes". My family and I came from 3+ hours away and only were able to use 1 hour of time before being told our time was up. Passes are based on registration time and NOT time of arrival so make sure you get their early! Management wouldn't extend our time and kids were upset as we wouldn't have left the slope to get lunch had we known it was 2 hours only. Staff was talking amongst themselves and not friendly when asking for help. It seemed like we were interrupting their conversations. The photo booth closed early (around 2:45pm on weekend) so we couldn't see our family photo taken on the slope. Also, Keep in mind this is OPENING WEEKEND! Highly disappointed and suggest other snow tubing locations as we wont be back here. I use to come as a child, but my childhood memory is ruined after this experience. At the very least, add the 2 hour session time period in the INFO tab of the snow tubing ticket section. read more

My experience was so terrible I decided to write a letter to the managers of the resort... "My experience this past weekend 1/16 - 1/19 at Camelback was an experience I will never forget for al l the wrong reasons. The way this resort was run is a total trainwreck and I would expect better from a business that has been run since the 1960s. I know this letter will probably not change the way you run things around the resort, but I do believe feedback is important. I am also certain that I will not be the only one writing to you because the consensus around the resort has been the same for all the guests I talked to. I believe that several issues stemmed from the greed of the entire management team who were crazy enough to sell the number of tickets that were sold for this holiday weekend. Rumor on the mountain was that over 10,000 tickets were sold. I am not a professional in this field, but I have skied for 20 days plus a year at resorts that range from small local or family resorts, to large ski destinations across the U.S. based on what I've seen I believe the infrastructure around the resort can maybe support only half of what was sold this weekend at the very most. This caused annoyingly long lift lines, lines at the waterpark, and oh boy the traffic... with the amount of traffic on the roads taking people multiple hours to go ¼ mile causes serious problems if an emergency were to happen. How would first responders be able to get to the resort if someone had a heart attack, stroke or other injury. There is no chance they would have survived and the resort would have been entirely at fault. Needless to say, the traffic was caused directly by management's greed, and the resort is extremely fortunate that there was no serious emergency this weekend at your resort. Another issue I have is with the indoor waterpark, I arrived there around 7:30 and got in line to ride the Flowrider just before the guards closed the line and fell almost immediately, to my surprise the line did not open back up and the park was still open for another 15 minutes. I asked them if I could ride until 9:00. They responded no. They didn't even shut the machine off they decided to take time away from the guests and surf during their shift when they were on the clock and all I could do was watch. That was a terrible and disappointing way to end the night. I expect a full refund for all of the experiences myself and my family had this weekend which include 5 triple tickets and 6 water park tickets. I would also suggest that anyone who had a role in planning for this weekend resign immediately and the resort find people who care about the guest experience, because I along with what I assume most of the guests that came to Camelback this weekend will never be returning." read more

Absolutely horrible. First, we go to the building, about an hour check in time. An hour. They weren't moving with any urgency, had two lines which confused people and I stepped to the side so my mother could check in, and they were having a full blown conversation! While people were trying to check in! So we get a 30 minute wait. Which is fine because the place was packed anyway. We get in the room and there is trash under the bed, dirty sheets and garbage that wasn't taken out. If I slept on the dirt, I would have a better sleep than here. The pool and arcade was fine. We requested 7 towels and toilet paper and put the garbage outside so they can take it out before we leave, but we come back an hour later, trash not taken out, we go to the pool, trash taken out this time but no towels. I don't know who they have running the management, but they need to quit their job. Do NOT stay here unless it is your last resort. Mistake, can't get through on the phone, on hold over an hour multiple days trying to make Thanksgiving dinner reservations. Even emailed them, finally made them on open table. The beds were so uncomfortable and the pillows were awful. People at the front were rude. I just have selected Kalaharie. Their water park is 3rd out of 3. Kalarie is 1, great wolf lodge 2 and they are distant 3. Also they nickel and dime you for everything. It might be good for skiing but I'm done with this place. The food is average but just okay. Not many healthy options. We also thought we paid for a suite but it clearly wasn't. Just an all around bad experience read more

Ok, so, you're not booking the Ritz Carlton right? You should know that if you are a seasoned traveler. There are definitely some issues here with the restaurants and housekeeping, but they were so kind and eager to make things right. I was also charged for parking even though I didn't have a car parked. My fault for not following up and requesting a refund. So beware of that. However, this place is great for kids and we always have a fun time just relaxing and hanging out in Aquatopia. I highly recommend upgrading to the VIP area in Aquatopia. Brittany and Matt are amazing and they will make your day special. The game room and rope course are great for kids. I wish I could remember the names of all of the staff who have made our frequent visits here extra special. We love it here!! Cant wait to go back!!!! My 5 star rating is based on an all of our stays, the effort and kindness of the staff if something goes wrong, and the fun times we have had here, regardless of some hiccups. If I could give Camelback Resort negative stars, I would. This place is an absolute disgrace, and I can't even begin to describe how horrifically awful our experience was. We booked a night here for our family and three others, hoping to enjoy a nice mid-winter getaway. We were excited for the waterpark and nighttime tubing--until we checked in and learned the horrific truth: the ENTIRE resort had NO RUNNING WATER. Not a single person at check-in had the decency to mention this, leaving us to find out the hard way. When we tried to use the bathrooms to change for the waterpark, we were hit with the sight of toilets overflowing with waste--disgusting, foul-smelling filth. The stench was unbearable, and the entire bathroom floor was covered in it. The situation was nothing short of a health hazard, and no one at Camelback seemed to care. We immediately rushed back to the front desk to cancel our reservations and get out of there as fast as possible. But the staff? Absolutely no urgency, no apology, no care. When one of our friends asked where she could use the bathroom, the staff had the audacity to tell her there was a "complimentary shuttle" to another location for tubing--and that we'd have to wait for it, as if that was a reasonable solution. While waiting, we literally saw someone in the lobby peeing in a cup because there was nowhere else to go. This is the level of neglect Camelback is running on. We canceled our stay and rebooked at another indoor water park, where everything worked like a normal resort should. Clean bathrooms, friendly staff, and no health risks. Camelback, on the other hand, is a joke. But here's where it gets even worse: Camelback still hasn't refunded 3 out of the 4 families involved. I had to dispute the charges with my credit card company because this so-called "resort" refuses to take responsibility for their absolutely appalling failure. read more

torn on this one. on the positive side, i like the property and location, our room had a balcony abutting the ski hill which was really cool and peaceful. visually also nice outside, i liked the look of the outdoor bar with the firepits and tiki torches at night. the coffee in the separate coffee place in the lobby was surprisingly quite good. waterpark is fine for little kids but a little on the small side. but...the negative. there appears to be an intentional understaffing of the place which has an impact on guest experience. the check in and check out process wasnt good. check in at 4 - our room wasnt available til 530, and this was after i had to prompt a room by texting their text bot. on the flip side check out is 11am and housekeeping was at our door at 1055 looking to kick us out. thats a 5 hour gap - why are rooms not ready in that case? has to be a staffing issue. many other reviews going back a couple years mention this same issue so seems that its not really a priority to fix this and isnt a rare occurrence. someone else mentioned the chef was yelling at the wait staff in front of customers in the restaurant. staff doesnt seem happy. shame this place has a ton of potential read more

Our original review, while posted in September, was from an experience in March 2022, our first visit since KSL took over and completely ruined this place. As you can see, I received a generic "thank you" comment attached to my original review suggesting that I share feedback to feedback@camelbackresort.com, even though I already did that a full nine months ago and personally spoke to three people in upper management. Other guests who left reviews here received comments from Camelback stating, "let us know what we can do to improve." Obviously they're not bothering to read the reviews because the critiques are already in the reviews themselves... Further evidence that no one at KSL is listening to anyone, there continues to be a smattering of one and two-star reviews posted here, on Google, and on TripAdvisor all to the same effect (getting less for more, understaffed, overcrowded, poorly maintained, and inexplicable new parking fees). This is clear evidence that regardless of what they may say in response to these reviews, that nothing is actually being done to better the guest experience. Probably the most damning of all, you can actually read employee reviews of this place, and it's not the least bit surprising that morale is extremely low across the board - see for yourself: https://www.indeed.com/cmp/Camelback-Resort/reviews. Testimonials straight from the resort staff corroborate that this place is severely understaffed and overcrowded. To anyone at Camelback/KSL reading this review, THIS IS YOUR SIGN! I've never been ANYWHERE where so many people hate their jobs all in one place. Heaven forbid you have a question about lift tickets, reservations, or eat any of the resort restaurants - no one can help and the service is abysmal. I've been to McDonald's with better service. No one looks you in the eye, if you say good morning they just look at you as if you're disrupting their day. And it wasn't just one or two people, it was EVERY SINGLE PERSON we encountered. It makes me wonder if this behavior is part of their onboarding program. It's no wonder why they're 2.7 stars and they have no interest in getting better. Overcrowded, overpriced, overrated. Have to remove a star solely due to not beginner friendly for skiers. Took a day trip from Philadelphia on a Sunday as it was only 1 and 45 minutes. Purchased a twilight ticket which includes 3 PM to close. "Digital" resort. A lot of steps that removed the job of a person. Parking was paid via QR code. Lift ticket was retrieve via kiosk (purchased beforehand due to dynamic pricing). The only employee interaction was to retrieve rentals that included boots, helmets, and skis. Lockers via a kiosk. The resort did not have ski clothing rentals which is something to consider bringing beforehand to avoid out-of-pocket cost if you don't have your own. This was a slight set back as we have been to other resorts that let you rent so had to purchase clothing instead. 1 small unisex locker room that stayed overcrowded due to changing and locker access. Multiple outside and indoor lockers and bathrooms. Kitchen/ Cafe within the ski part closed at 6, lucky there were plenty of other restaurants options around the resort. The trails itself were long terrains and a good variety. They do have nice ski lifts and a neat ticketing system. read more

I spent over $2300 for our room, there was hair in the one bathtub, the other had a mini hair rubber band, the sink had coffee grounds and food in it, and the best was I shut the bedroom door and there was a random flipflop behind it. They clearly do NOT clean nor do they care. We went to the front desk and spoke with the "front desk manager" whom said there was NOTHING she could do, we had to wait until morning and speak with housekeeping! She was so unprofessional, rude, and uncaring, absolutely a disgrace! She really shouldn't be a manager if you ask me especially working in management there is always something or someone you can contact to resolve issues. We were told housekeeping would come back to our room and clean it, well that NEVER happened. There was also missing tile in the bathroom, cracked bathtub, chunks of the wall missing! I have stayed at Hampton Inn, quality inns and best western a heck of a lot nicer than this place! Go down the road to GWL, I regret EVER coming here! read more

This review is of Aquatopia indoor water park only, without booking a room. The good: was able to get discounted "4 pack" day passes (for 4 guests) for $200 in advance on the website. Didn't end up having to pay for parking. Most (if not all) of the slides, lazy river, hot tubs, and wave pool were open and operational (and for this I give two stars instead of one). Park is on the smaller side, meaning less walking. They provide towels for use in the park. Decent changing area, and showers in the bathroom. Lines weren't too long despite being a busy day. The bad: Rude, inefficient, and disorganized staff inside the park. Rude lifeguards citing "rules" not posted anywhere. Not enough large lockers or lounge chairs available on a busy day. Ridiculous long lines for food and drinks. Children allowed in hot tub. "Lazy" river experience hampered by too many kids not on tubes and running, swimming, kicking and splashing water - detracts from a relaxing experience. Website does not offer clear explanation of what you are purchasing (had to call and speak to a person, who was actually very helpful). Need to carry ID and credit card to get alcoholic drinks. My wife and I took our nieces here (as opposed to Kalahari) on 12/30/22 expecting a great experience based on all the "rated best water park in the area" ads online. While the park itself and the slides were fine, this place has serious issues with some of the staff not giving a eff.. Our experience with the swim up bar was THE WORST. My wife put in a food order for a black bean burger and two orders of chicken fingers with a female bartender (Chris?), who proceeded to eat chicken fingers while working and saying "I know, this is unprofessional" (my wife was sympathetic to her) and she told my wife "we got you, we got you" assuring her the order had been placed. We follow up 20 minutes later only to find out the order HADN'T been placed. She told us she would put it in. We follow up another 15 minutes later to find out it STILL HADN'T been placed. This time, a male bartender was "helping" us, and went over to the POS terminal to put in the order but we told him just cancel it and settle our tab for our drinks. In the 20-30 minutes we were waiting around, nobody bothered to clean up the pile of empty beer cans and signed charge slips from previous patrons that was sitting in front of me at my spot at the bar. Lastly, the dude who settled our tab says "happy new year - don't drink too much" which is kind of ironic considering it was almost impossible to get served, even with 5 people behind the bar and the bar itself not looking too crowded. Further, who does he think he is telling us what to do, or even implying that we MIGHT drink too much? The experience at the swim up bar was ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE. The lifeguards in the wave pool immediately spotted us with drinks - clear liquid (white claw) in a plastic cup - and told us we can't even have our TOES in the water with the drinks! Ridiculous! Then i was told a minute or two later not to put my bag in a certain area. There were no signs posted to make these "rules" known. When I approached the rope at the 5-6 ft area of the wave pool, I had the lifeguard blowing the whistle at me telling me to back off by at least 3 feet from the rope despite the fact that I'm 6 feet tall. What's the purpose of putting the rope where it is if you can't go up to it? Just move it in another foot then. Another strange but humorous quirk was with the parking fee, as a day guest. When we checked into the park, nobody asked or told us anything about it. I later asked at the park check in desk, being I didn't want my car to get towed, and was told my car won't get towed but to go back upstairs and check with the bell desk to get a card with QR code to scan. So basically parking is on the honor system and they expect YOU to do the legwork to pay them! Well, guess what? If you're not going to bother to have someone actually COLLECT it, or at least have some system in place to enforce it, I'm not going to pay for something that they shouldn't even be charging for in the first place. So we saved $12 on parking, plus the $50+ we would have spent on food and drinks at the swim up bar. Overall, not a great experience and not likely to come back. The potential for this place to be great is there, and that's the sad part. It's the staff that brings it down. Will try Kalahari next time. Bottom line: a decent value for a day trip if you can get the discounted 4 pack of passes. Not really worth much more than that. read more

If I could give this place negative stars, I would. This "resort" is a disgusting, negligent excuse for a business, and the experience we had here was nothing short of a nightmare. I booked a night for our family and three others, hoping to have a fun mid-winter getaway with the kids. We were excited about the waterpark and nighttime tubing--until we arrived and were greeted with the horrific news that the ENTIRE resort had NO RUNNING WATER. Not a single person at check-in thought it was worth mentioning that basic, essential facilities were completely non-functional. We didn't find out until we tried to use the bathrooms to change for the waterpark, and the toilets were literally overflowing with disgusting filth. It was beyond revolting--an absolute health hazard. When we went back to the front desk to cancel our reservations, hoping to escape the nightmare, the staff didn't even care. They didn't apologize. They didn't offer any solution. The lack of empathy was staggering. Instead, one of the staff members had the nerve to tell a friend of ours that there was a "complimentary shuttle" to a different location for tubing--because, of course, you have to leave the resort to use a working bathroom. Her calm reaction to this insult was a true exercise in restraint. We immediately canceled and managed to rebook at a nearby resort, where basic sanitation and customer service actually exist. But of course, Camelback hasn't refunded 3 out of the 4 families who were completely screwed over by their incompetence. I had to dispute the charges with my credit card company because Camelback refuses to take accountability for their utter failure. Let's be clear: Camelback Resort is a place that actively chooses to neglect its guests. The staff is completely indifferent to the well-being of the people who are paying to stay there. They don't care about your health, your experience, or your time. They only care about taking your money and offering nothing in return. If you value your health, sanity, or just basic decency, do yourself a favor and stay as far away from this dump as possible. No one in their right mind should ever support a place that treats guests like this. Camelback Resort, you should be ashamed. If the staff had any dignity or self-respect, they would walk out tomorrow. This place doesn't deserve a single customer. read more

Just go to wolf lodge instead. This place feels like a total money grab. Everything seems to cost extra money, the food and drinks are expensive and even the "concierge" desk is just a front to people trying to sell you some time share thing. No one seems to be able to answer your questions and everything needs to be booked online, but online seems to be missing key information. We booked a couple activities just to find out people in our party did not meet height/ week requirements. This led to a huge ordeal to get a refund. Other than those people trying to sell us some sort of vacation package at the concierge desk, pretty much everyone that worked here seemed rude and disinterested. We came here, rather than wolf lodge, due to the amount of additional activities however we have found it so difficult to do the activities because they frequently are not staffed. We wanted to do the ropes course and were told that it would be available between 6 and 6:45. Really?! 45 minutes? Considering there is wolf lodge and a Kalahari in the area, you would think they would try harder. We will not come back here again. read more

We recently took a little family trip to Camelback Lodge and Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark over Easter break. This place is huge and clean and so much fun. Our 3 year old had a blast and still asks to go to the water slides a month later. We stayed in their King Fireplace Suite- clean, roomy, and liked their kitchenette. There were daily activities for children throughout the day including donut decorating, sand art, reptile show, arts and crafts, etc. There are 2 arcades in this place too. On Easter Sunday they had an Easter egg hunt and free photos with the Easter Bunny. We also signed up for the Mountain coaster which was a ton a fun! Giving 4 stars because food options were very pricey. Of course we expected to dish out $ for food, but sheesh... $18 for kids spaghetti. Overall, we had a ton of fun and we plan to return one day. read more

We had some challenges that were quite frustrating but in the end, their leadership team did the right thing.

There was a lot to like about this place. It's designed well for people with kids. The water park was super fun. They give you bracelets that let you into the water park and also into your room. The water slides were plentiful and very fun, especially the Venus Slide Trap where your raft sliders up and down the walls of basically a water slide taco. The Lost River lazy river was fun too and they also had a Flowrider surfing. The place has everything a family needs for a fun time. There are a lot of restaurants inside. We went to the pizza place and the pizzas were pretty good; slightly larger than a personal sized pizza for $14-16. You can ski right to the hotel which is nice. Our room had bunk beds which was great for a family. There's also ann arcade which was so so. It is apparently operated by a separate company since they wouldn't honor the Camelback's resort prices for Laser Tag that were posted on the Camelback website it was $12 a person for 2 games. The guy who eventually helped us was very nice but at first we waited at the counter for ten minutes and no one helped us. Also one of our machines was malfunctioning so one star off for the arcade. read more

My family and I have been going here for years. My kids love it and the rooms. We are here now for 3- nights, it was supposed to be an early celebration for my daughter's 13th birthday. Check in was horrible and took forever, so crowded and they kept telling me to wait for a text the room was not ready. First night out- room service never came to our room everything was dusty, and dirty. Pillows do not have pillow covers, and just constantly calling the front desk to get new towels or rags. So fast forward to day two, my son is screaming and calls me over, there is a BED BUG in his bed. Already dead but nonetheless a BED BUG. I have never packed faster in my life. We didn't want another room, there was nothing that could be said to ease my mind. I just wanted to leave. We have left early and I need to be refunded for the night we did not use. It's such a shame my kids were looking forward to more activities for the other day. Rooms need to be kept cleaner and they need to pay more attention to these issues they can be a huge problem for the company! I found out that Camelback has just joined Ikon Pass and was kinda happy because we used to go snowboarding there over a decade ago and we had such great time so we decided to plan overnights trip there. We booked a hotel nearby for staying overnights during the week hoping to avoid crowds and traffic. We were very excited and looking forward to this trip. As we were passing the sign says Camelback Resort I spotted a small parking lot with the sign saying "General Parking $12" and I thought to myself "Nah, this must be for snow-tubing visitors". We continued driving along the road following the sign for ski area. Once we arrived at the parking areas, we both saw a sign saying "Premium Parking $35" and "General Parking $12" so we decided to ask one of the staff and was told they are all paid parking. We have been to many ski resorts and never seen any places that charge for general parking and with very expensive parking fees. I started to have a bad feeling about the place and didn't want to go. But my husband convinced me to go since we were already there we had no choice but to pay for it. Unfortunately I got injured while snowboarding and was helped by ski patrol team. They were really nice and helpful. I found out later that they are all volunteers and don't get paid which is really nice of them. (The 2 stars are for this and this only. But the ski patrol team deserves 5 starts out of 5.) Anyhow we had to cut our trip short and go back but there is no way we will go back there again. Note: For parking, they will give you a card with QR code to scan to pay. Not sure how they enforce this but heard they have tow trucks ready on site. Not a very welcoming place to go, honestly. Went to camelback for the second time in a year. Last spring stayed here and had a good time at the indoor water park and the warm weather outside activities. So we decided to go again the weekend of January 9th to go snowboarding. Completely different experience. Staff not as friendly at check in. Stay was ok but fell apart when it came time for billing. We booked on "the best special of the year" deal ($100 off per night for our room). They did not give us the deal and decided to charge us for an extra breakfast buffet. Totaling an over charge by $215. Have need emailing and calling for a week. Have sat on hold waiting for anyone to answer for an hour before Ning forced to leave a message. Obviously no response. That is why there are so many reviews on here. Because nobody from the company responds to any emails or phone calls. This may be the only way I hear a response ‍. I am at a loss for ideas. So completely unprofessional from a formerly reputable company who is obviously losing business to "Great Wolf Lodge". Maybe next time we just stay there. I'm torn writing this review at the moment as a few things happened: 1. Check in was smooth and was told that we would receive a text when our room was ready. In mean time we can enjoy the facilities. 10 mins later room was ready. Went to the room and there was a family already in there plus the door didn't close. Got a call from reception and was told that there was a mistake and would be given another room right away. No problem. 5 minutes later got a new room. 2. Room is clean and made up. But realized that there are no additional blankets. Called reception, brought a blanket 5 minutes later. 3. It's midnight and the family is trying to sleep. Didn't realize that the walls are thin. I mean I could hear the conversation and laughs of the neighbor OR they're just being loud as hell. Figured they would settle down but this continued until 130am. Texted the support number. No response. So called reception again and they sent security 5 minutes later. But the walls are thin so I can still hear tue neighbors. They finally settle down at 3am. Rough night in general. Son loves indoor waterpark but this experience makes me rethink staying the night in the future. Never had a problem with loud neighbors before until now. Otherwise, the water park is a decent size. Plenty of things to do for the kids and adults. Not as big as the other water park nearby but was happy about the Groupon deal. If you stay the night you get access to the water park on arrival day and check out day. There is a resort fee and a parking fee in addition to what it costs to stay. Plenty of places to eat within driving distance and there's a premium outlet nearby read more

We stayed for three nights. Housekeeping did not make our beds, clean our room, or take out the trash. The TV mysteriously turns on and it is really loud. The heating kept switching to default, which was 64, so we woke up freezing everyday. Website says quiet hours is after 11pm, but we heard kids running around and screaming in the hallways way past that time. We placed at order at Graffiti Pizza, they told us it would take an hour to make our pizza. We came back in an hour to find out that someone else took our pizza. We had to wait 20 minutes to receive a raw pizza completely covered in burnt ash at the bottom. Hope we don't get sick. Went to the Cafe to buy a snack - hummus & pretzels. It was expired by a week. Bathroom smells moldy & like dirty socks. Overall, the place is extremely crowded and they should not be taking this many guests at once because they cannot handle it. Breakfast was fine, they use liquid eggs for the omelette, but what more can you expect from this place. Also, the fire alarm went off for 10 mins. We still haven't gotten an explanation. read more

4 starts because their surf simulator was absolutely fun and the lifeguards they had were very encouraging and some of them were mad skilled. I even tried the stand up surfing part and lasted 30 seconds! (*debby Ryan meme*) Apart from that the aquatopia place itself is relatively small but offer the big crowd pleasing things like, lazy river, water slides, wave pool and a swim up bar. My only thing is that you can go through the whole park in like an hour. The wave pool isn't like other wave pools with fun/risky-ish waves, it's quite tame. And the lazy river doesn't have enough floaters and is about a 5-8 min ride along. Then, because of space the slides are super short. Fun!!! Don't get me wrong but short. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and am glad I got to experience it but for the price, ehhhh (~$80+tax per person). However, hire guests can enter the park for free. My review is coming from attending an event here, but I've also stayed and attended events at the Kalahari and Split Rock Resort. Be aware, that even if you are just attending an event here, it's $12 to park. You also cannot park in the main lot as that's only for hotel guests, but are relegated to the overflow lots. The event had a shuttle bus to transport people from these lots. The best way to describe the lodge, is that it's about half the size of the Kalahari and in many ways the layout and decor are similar. For people wanting a smaller resort, this could be an advantage. The lobby can become crowded at check-in times but is nicely decorated. The lodge's event space, oddly, is located on the 4th floor, but there's nowhere near enough space. You could probably hold a small wedding or business conference here, but not much more. Food on site is a problem depending on your tastes. The Hemispheres buffet in the lobby is only open in the morning and is closed for the rest of the day. That space is truly wasted and should be repurposed into more restaurant or event space. The Cafe' & Bar in the lobby and Graffiti Pizza in the arcade serve a limited menu but have some food options. The only full-service option is Trail's End Pub & Grille, located at the far end of the hotel. I dined here and it was average. The arcade is located on the bottom floor and it's a nice resort arcade with a fair number of games. All appeared to be well maintained, but were expensive. Water park entrance is also located here. From the windows in the lobby, the water park appeared to be pretty good. Overall, Camelback Lodge was decent to attend an event at, but has glaring flaws in terms of dining and event space. Depending on your needs, and the price, the Kalahari might be a better option. read more
