We were in contact with sales rep Maria and sales manager Miguel about a Toyota RAV4 we are wanting to buy. They called us telling the car was arriving today and to come ASAP so we showed up 30 minutes later at 11am and made a deal on the car. We waited several hours they kept telling us the deal was locked and car was ours. They were just cleaning up the car. 5 hours later they told us they gave the car to someone else who offered higher amount. SMH! It wholeheartedly was the worse experience of my life!! We will now be buying a car from sales rep Phong at Big too Toyota in chandler. I highly recommend her. read more

I should have read the reviews before going. Im a US Veteran and I have to say they need to learn how to talk to customers. The guy who first showed me the car was great but the employee that tries to close the deal wasnt. They dont honor website prices atleast from Autotrader. clearly says on the disclaimer that price includes dealer add ons. They tried to add paint protection coating fee on top of the negotation price. They got frustrated trying to make a deal. The female in charge of making a deal made some very unprfessional remarks at that point the deal was ruined. Then the next day an employee named Abel starts texting me trying to make a deal. I tell them my offer and he tells me he will see what he can work out then he completely ignores me doesnt even try. I even called for a call back and nothing. I ended up going to Toyota at Tempe AutoNation. I got the same vehicle I wanted. Dont waste your time here. I pity those that are subject to dealership service and repairs. Brought my Tundra in for the airbag recall. They were able to schedule it for the coming Saturday, which was great. Dropped off early, got the call it was done by 10:30. Pretty quick. What I didn't know is that they were going to root around my truck and try to find things wrong with it so they could attempt to extort me. I REALLY don't like people dicking around with my vehicle, and this was never mentioned to me when I authorized an airbag inflator warranty remedy only. Their ~$700 estimate was comical and insulting. $30 to change a $1.50 light bulb in the bed light? Wow. $340 to install a new $20 thermostat because the housing was leaking (I was thorough with the Hondabond when I did the t-belt/water pump in 2013; turned out to be some spilled coolant from when I replaced my busted radiator last summer, wiped away easily)? Holy shit! $100 to change $15 worth of brake fluid because they claimed it was dirty (changed it with Pentosin March 2015)? The service advisor also mentioned something about the alignment being off. Considering I just had it done to my specification (lots of caster, higher than factory recommendation) 2 months prior, and it drives better than ever, I doubt that. Funny thing is, they must not care about any "issues" under the vehicle, since there was no mention of the leak in my transfer case 4WD actuator that I know about and am too lazy to fix. Curious... But the most egregious item on the estimate was the airbag light diagnosis. My airbag light went on a few days after I stopped in to make my appointment (of course). Figure they were changing the inflator, that could correct the issue.. It didn't (of course) but they wanted $98 to tell me what the light meant. Now keep in mind that any tech doing warranty work on the airbag system would undoubtedly connect the vehicle to the Toyota TechStream software to ensure the repair had been done correctly, especially if a light is already on. It would be unthinkable for them to just remove and replace the inflator, then hope for the best. So, they certainly knew what the error to cause the light to stay on was, but would not share it unless I let them bend me over for $100. Better idea; but the TechStream cable and software, install on my laptop, and diagnose myself for $60. Also means I can turn off the TPMS light in my Camry. Win win!!! Be educated, or your wallet will be raped! Not cool to go so far out of there way to find things "wrong" with my truck when I authorized them to do nothing more than what it said in the letter I received from Toyota. Already done with their parts department, and now I hope to never have to revisit this dealership again for any reason. read more

Will not recommend this company to anyone! Big selling point for me was no payments for 90 day this is what the text msg said. Me-And one more question is there a way you can make it no payments for 90 days? Instead of 45? Cheyenne-Is that what it'll take for you to buy the truck tonight? Me-We are leaving in a couple of mins what will you need from us documentation etc? The dealership said she didn't agree to that. They said because I didn't say YES IT WILL Cheyenne didn't agree to that I asked her with my wife present 3 times it is going to have no payments for 90 days and she said yes everytime. Then Danielle the financial lady didn't show us any of the paper work or gave us copies of what we signed. And on that contract does say payment due 4/12/21 so mistake on my part for signing but if this company is high on satisfaction for the customer then why would they take no action as in looking a video footage to prove she went over it with us and not just signing something we don't know what we are signing. Then when I talked to manager she said they never agreed to that! Then I talked to her through email and this is what she said! My apologies for any frustration this matter has caused you.  As we discussed yesterday, the contract you signed reflects your first payment is due 4/12/21.  Also, the text exchange between you and Cheyenne does state you would have no payment for 90 days.   Then I said If the text exchange does state that I would have no payments for 90 days then why are we having difficulty making this happen? Also on the contract that I finally received it does stat that first payment is on April 12th 2021. Me and my wife both never saw that contract until yesterday when you gave me a copy. Danielle never told us what we were signing. (Mistake on my part) nor showed us the contract we did sign cause I would have said something about the due date. Why is it so difficult for you to look into the video footage for me to prove that she had gone over everything we sign? (In other words done her job properly and cared for the customer and not just for a check in her pocket)? No response! I have learned the mistake for signing without document in front. Just wish they would care more considering I bought t 2 cars from them and they are just playing games just because I didn't say in text YES IT WILL even though we said in person multiple times doesnt mean anything. Poor sales tactics. Trd pro Tacoma available on the lot. Would not sell for msrp. I told them I had 2 dealership willing to sell at msrp with no markup and Manager Ralph told me the management at those stores should be fired. No Ralph the owners of those dealers do not sell over Msrp because they know they will get return customers in the future. The average person buys a new veh every 2 to 3 years, and because the profit on a veh for the dealership Is already figured into the msrp price. Adding another 5k on top of that is called price gouging. I have purchased 5 new Toyota trucks in the past 8 years 1 being a pro. Ill be sure to never call this dealer again when shopping. I came here with the expectation to buy a new car. Initially, the process seemed smooth and transparent. I worked with a great associate that communicated very well and was meticulous with the details. I thought I came to the right place. I left the dealership confident we had a deal as we negotiated the final numbers. I was advised to come back with a check for the down payment and the car was mine. I came back the next days and the car was not sold and discussed potentially another car as a first or second option with identical terms. I went in with the expectation to [buy] the car and drive off the lot. However, what happened next was a let down. I was informed that despite all the test driving, price and terms negotiating, and the pull on my credit report, they DID NOT have an approved deal (strike I)! They pulled my credit by all their lenders before we negotiated price on my previous visit. I confronted the sales rep about this and she did not reply. And the manager did not comment either. I should have walked away at this point, but I had some optimism and stuck it out to see what the outcome would be (strike II). So we began the journey in [trying!] to approve my credit application after I was misled in believing it was approved. I'm not sure how many lenders they spoke with, but when they finally had an offer for me, by one of the lenders, it was astronomical in terms of the APR and additional down payment was required. I left very disappointed but advised them I would consider it, because I believe they were trying to do their best to approve the loan. Since the interest rate was so high, it made sense to reduce the purchase price. I decided to go with a used car. When I heard back from the rep, they decided (without my input) to sell me a 2020 versus the 2019 I requested. Having been miseld, I advised the rep to PUT IT IN WRITING and email me the break down on the purchase so I can review the economics of the deal. I got push back, so I made it very clear we are wasting time if they can't PUT IT IN WRITING. I never got anything in writing. I went to another used car dealer in North Scottsdale (Bell Lexus). Within 1 hour they had a hard approval from a lender. They broke down all the acquisition costs and APR. I was able to see exactly how all the fees, interest rate, sales price, extended warranty, and other terms were impacting the monthly payment. We made adjustments as needed to close the deal with honesty and integrity. I would have given Camel Back 1 star, but the reason I didn't is because they tried to close the loan. Two stars for trying to approve the loan. Negative 3 stars for lack of transparency and arguably misleading the customer. I won't come back here. Doesn't mean you shouldn't. But you definitely need to exercise caution, demand very specific details, and if they don't give it to you, walk away and don't look back. read more

I called in advance for Saturday auto service and told by the service advisor they are all booked and not taking any appts or walk-ins and offered to schedule Monday. This was unacceptable and I stated other Toyota dealers I go to for service always take me regardless if I'm willing to wait or leave my car on short notice. Went to Camelback Toyota for brake work- and left with a $1,600 + bill. After putting my car up on the rack, I'm told that I need some work done where they take apart my entire engine and put it back together again. Supposedly some piece of rubber is "drying out" and my car will be in - I'm paraphrasing here - "big trouble" if I don't get this part replaced. Righhhhht - here's why I don't believe that was actually a real problem that needed immediate - or perhaps any - fixing. Later that day, I saw that the same individual who was in charge of my car repairs had a woman in his office in tears - literally crying her eyes out because of, presumably, a huge repair bill. I suspect she was being taken advantage of as well. What's more, this Toyota offers fewer discounts than the Toyota in Avondale. After I went home, I called Avondale Toyota and discovered that they would have not only charged me a smaller price for my brakes, but also would have offered an additional special discount. Ohhh, here's the best part for last: on my repair bill, the mechanic or repair manager listed "car is from Northeast" in an attempt to justify the need for more expensive brake work. You can come to Camelback Toyota for repairs, but I guarantee you'll be dealing with crooks. read more

I've had 2 sales experiences with them. The first was in late 2009 when I tried to buy a Prius from them. They tried to upcharge me $3000 over sticker price claiming "the Prius was in such high demand". I called around and ended up buying it AT STICKER from Earnhardt Toyota instead. Went in for "scheduled warrantee service 6 months ago. They told me to bring it back just before the warrantee expires and they will do the "oil change service" not the "oil service" regardless of the miles. I scheduled an appointment last week and the appointment girl confirmed "oil change" will happen. I dropped off early bird paperwork and the paperwork said "oil change" as per appointment.. Camelback Toyota doesn't have this big, beautiful, new facility on 16th Street, for nothing. I know I put more than my share of my hard earned money into that building. The last time I left tracks in this garage was after I was up-sold a ton of work that my SUV did not need at the time, to the tune of some nearly $2,000 - when I had gone in for a regular oil change. The car repair sales associate, Damion, seemed surprised when I requested the replaced parts after they finished all the work he "recommended" (scare tactic is more accurate). One freshly replaced part "...couldn't be found." (Interesting, in light of the fact that they had just finished it.) The rest of the parts didn't seem to show enough wear to warrant replacement, in my opinion. So, I took them around for a couple of other neutral opinions. Even un-prefaced by explanation, those opinions all concurred with mine. I challenged the need for the work performed with Damion, at Camelback Toyota. And although I didn't press charges in court (but did consider it, just didn't have any extra time to deal with it at the time) - this formerly, quite loyal, customer will surely never return to this "establishment" and now they have a really sour review too. However, I have found solace in my car repair needs at 3A Auto Service in Sunnyslope. At this well established, family owned business, I am not treated as "fresh meat" because I am a woman embarking on an oil change sans a male figure for protection. To date, they have been honest about the work they have done and have been like a "husband" in that they provide a heads up as to what to expect for repairs or maintenance in the next few months. This could be a grand, auto, love affair! Rather than an auto affair that cost me grands!! I give 3A Auto Service a 5 star rating - girls, you gotta go there! read more

As far as car salesman, this place was awesome. John dearmond was my salesman and he knew his stuff. What I am complaining about is the service. I went in trusting that Toyota since they have a "Toyota care" package...that they would care about giving me the best prices... being a girl I don't know anything about cars.. just like at danny's car wash they charged me up the wazoo. I went in for an oil change and clips because the bottom of my car got screwed from my apartment complex. Don't go anywhere unless you know people and are friendly with them that treat you right and will tell you exactly what you need. $200 later for $20 clips for my car.. and I hate Camelback Toyota now, and will never take my car back to get serviced by them, no matter what it is. read more

My experience with this dealership was exactly why most people hate dealing with car salesmen!! My husband and I had been searching for a used MINI Convertible to buy for our Daughter. I found one online which directed me to Camelback Toyota. I filled out the online info and was called shortly thereafter by Joseph. I explained what we were looking for and he assured me this car was in great condition and to come on down. I said we would be in that afternoon. Not even 20 minutes later, I received a call from his manager asking if we were coming in or not. I said I had just gotten off the phone with him a short time ago and that we were going to see several cars that day, but would be in that afternoon. We decided to go to this dealership first and the second I opened my car door, I saw them coming at me like vultures! I told them I was looking for Joseph. They led me to another man (I can't remember his name) because they said Joseph was busy. So I had to explain all over again what we were looking for. They led us to the MINI and told my daughter to get in and start it up... She got in and turned the key...it did not turn over. The battery was dead. We spent the next 20 minutes watching several of the men try to figure out how pop the hood open and then how to actually open it. It was comical and aggravating to say the least. Meanwhile, we noticed how badly scuffed up the rims were and how faded the side panel was. All while they are telling us that only about 1% of what actually gets traded in makes it to the showroom floor because they have such high standards. Once they finally jump-started the car we went for a test drive. Now, no offense to the salesman, but he was a "BIG" guy. He barely fit into the seat of this car and made the (already tight) ride very uncomfortable. He spent the entire test-drive (sitting half sideways and crammed) talking and fiddling with all the knobs trying to figure out what everything does. The car was driving with a lot of vibration and seemed very shaky. My husband was driving and trying to hear the engine etc. (doing his due diligence) and the salesman was cranking up the radio, showing off the "awesome" sound-system. He was so obnoxious. My daughter and I were sitting in the back noticing the fine details, like the broken drink holders and missing parts. FINALLY, the test drive ended. They immediately whisked us into the showroom and asked us what they could do to help us get into the car today? We explained that we had several other cars to look at and that this was the first one we test drove, and weren't overly thrilled with it, and that we were patient buyers. The next thing we know, there were 2 men at our table trying to persuade us... and then 3!! It was ridiculous. We asked to see the CarFax and saw that it already had 3 owners and was originally from the northwest, insuring that it had seen some years of snow. That immediately ruled it out for us. We explained we were not interested and the second we did, the Salesman got an attitude and left the table without saying a word. We couldn't wait to get out of there!! My husband and I have bought many cars through the years. We have dealt with both "Good and Bad" dealers. This is one I would say stay far, far away from. I will follow-up to say that the next dealership we went to (BMW North Scottsdale) was a night-and-day comparison... as was the MINI that they had. It was beautiful and well-kept and drove nicely... and started on the first try. More importantly, they were low-pressure. They listened to our questions and answered them too. And I might add, we got an amazing deal on this (superior) car for THOUSANDS less than what Camelback Toyota was asking. read more

I went to this dealership many years ago when it was on the other side of the road and had an awful experience. I decided to try this dealership again after buying a new vehicle and figured maybe they made some changes since they moved to there new location. I took our vehicle in for the 5 thousand mile service and some warranty work. To keep a long story short, when I received the vehicle back and after driving home I noticed they didn't rotate the tires which brought on my suspicion if they even checked the fluids so I opened the hood to look for evidence. Anyone who lives in Arizona knows of the dust we have and it settles very nicely on everything in the engine compartment. After inspecting I couldn't find one stinking finger print in all that dust under the hood. Not one, these guys are like ninjas. However when these ninja mechanics made it into the inside of my vehicle the left greasy foot prints on the door jam and greasy finger prints on the steering wheel, trim around the radio and glove box. When I called the service advisor and told him of my concern he acted like I had no clue to what I was talking about. One thing I know is pictures never lie. read more

I had to wait 40 minutes when I was scheduled an appointment. I had went 3 weeks before and was advised to get a different brand new car from what I wanted. I was surprised how they falsely advertise and promote wrong prices online. He kept going on that it's like a booking website using other rates I'm like you can't tell me it's a higher rate from what I saw online how is that fair if you are aware of the prices. Also last month I was estimated 13,500 for my 2019 Corolla today they wanted to give me 8,000. I used to like camelback Toyota but now it's just seems that they aren't helpful and make me waste 4 hours of my time. I honestly feel they are against LBTGQ community I felt how they just judged me and my wife and didn't helped us what so ever. Another thing the guy kept stating he didn't ran my credit as soon as he did ran my credit I got 2 alerts to my phone about running my credit I cannot see them the same they lie and made me waste my time. I don't feel welcomed with my wife and son it's so sad to see this kind of act and also trying to manipulate me and my wife only because we are woman. I recently bought a certified pre-owned Tacoma from Camelback. Aside from the usual used car tactics, their support staff needs improvement. When I got the truck it was late at night, so my husband brought it back later in the week for it to get "detailed." He waited for two hours and when he went to ask how it was coming, they didn't know they had the car. Then I came back a week after we first took home the car. I was dropping of the check from my bank. I was trying to give them money for a car I already took from them. It took 45 minutes for someone to collect the check, when it took less than a minute to look at it and say everything was good. I understand that we've already "completed" our business, but Camelback Toyota needs to work on their follow up. Next time I'm going to Avondale Toyota. read more

My Prius has been regularly serviced by Camelback Toyota for 2 1/2 years. I usually try to make my appointment first thing in the morning on a Saturday. Being the day after Thanksgiving I wanted to sleep in on one of my only days off. Wrong choice. I waited for TWO HOURS and 20 MINUTES for an $80 oil change and tire rotation! The place is nice with TVs, free beverages, and morning treats, but COME ON! It shouldn't be packed like the DMV. I asked to speak to the service manager and told him my disappointment in the service time. He said unapologetically, "Well, that sounds about right for what you had done." Huh? The attendant told me 90 minutes! I really don't know if I will be back. The experience was that horrific and there are a lot of good mechanics out there who respect a person's time. Camelback Toyota wanted to sell me a lame Interstate battery that wasn't the right size (important), and for lots of money and that didn't even include installation. Asked my mechanic for a quote and it was $70 less. Got the battery, it's a premium genuine Toyota battery the correct size - from Camelback Toyota (indirectly). Nice. read more

I just wanted to take a minute to rate my recent experience at Camelback Toyota. As you can see, I gave it 5 stars, but I wish it would allow more. The process was exciting and ran smooth from beginning to end. Specifically, I would like to give high praise to my salesman, Devvan Vela. Not only was he genuine and very knowledgeable, but he was a true professional every step of the way. This purchase would be my third purchase from Devvan, and I owe a mention to his incredible management team. Jazmin, Sean, Jens and Sam, my business manager, were key to making my car buying experience one for the books. It was exactly what I expected from a high cost, low quality dealership. I took my Tacoma in for a routine oil change last fall and it was a miserable experience. First off, their rate was about $15 more than a standard oil change but I hoped I was paying for quality. I dropped my car off and it was a very showy experience, I tried to ask the gentleman who was assigned to help with my appointment about an issue I was having and he dodged the question and said he couldn't give me any information without paying for a $100 diagnostic test and scheduling a new appointment; he also told me it was impossible for them to look at anything while doing the oil change. So I went with it and hoped everything would go well. Half way through the appointment, the guy who was supposed to be helping me called and told me my differential fluid was incredibly dirty and needed to be changed. I had zero paperwork from my previous appointments so I didn't know what had been done recently and because he was so concerned about the cleanliness of the differential fluid I felt pressured to do it. It was an added $80. I immediately asked my dad if this seemed legitimate and he said it wasn't likely. I tried to call and cancel with the sales guy but he was all the sudden unavailable. When he finally did call me back he said it is a quick process and it had already been done. I got back to the dealership to a $130 bill with no evidence that the differential fluid had even been changed - they could have easily just slapped an amount on my bill - and again the rep/salesman was MIA. I felt scammed and livid. To top it off, I looked at my paperwork and I'd had the differential fluid changed less than 10 years ago and the manual recommends changing it after 15 years or more. Total scam. After a horrible experience with their automotive crew, I did a lap around the dealership and another salesman tried to push cars on me which were completely unrelated to anything I told him I was looking for. 100% a typical used car salesman. I will not be going back and I suggest you don't either. read more

My wife and I just purchased a Prius from Camelback and they've really changed my viewpoint that all car salespeople are shysters. Adam our salesman and Richie the manager went out of their way to make it a smooth deal. There was never any pressure. As long as you understand that they are in business to make money, you will get a very fair deal. The dealership itself is awesome. When our car was ready for delivery it was already in the new car garage and detailed. Adam was very patient with us as we combed the car for any scratches. When my wife found a tiny scratch they immediately had it buffed out and helped us look for more. Adam then went over a very detailed explanation of the car and reviewed with us all the warranty and owners manuals. In the past, most car dealers couldn't wait to get you off their property with the car. Not this one. Richie the sales manager came over to make sure everything was ok and if the car was delivered as promised. Adam patiently answered all of our questions. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a Toyota from these guys again. Just remember, they need a fair profit as much as you need a good deal. They will work with you to get what you need. read more

I had a recall on my airbags on my 2009 Toyota Corolla LE a few months ago. The service agent that I had an appointment with treated me like an I was idiot and that I didn't even know I needed an oil change. My father and brother are mechanics and I was taught well on how to take care of my car and do the scheduled maintenance - maybe not at the dealership - but to at least keep up with it so I don't have problems. That being said, this was the worst experience I have ever had with a service department. I pull in, I am greeted by who I have my appointment with, he tells me they're doing discounts on oil changes right now and that they were $30 plus they clean your car and do a look over inspection. "That's phenomenal!" I think, and then he gets in my drivers seat to get my mileage and he says "Do you know what your maintenance required light means? That means you need an oil change!" In a way that I was literally a toddler. Just because a 21 year old woman pulls into your service department DOES NOT mean she's naive. At this point, I was uncomfortable, but we went over how long my airbags would take, they said 3.5 hours. 4.5 hours later, I'm still receiving flack from service guy about how my transmission fluid needing to be changed, my right CV boot has small leak, but this was all things I knew. The price quoted me for fixing/changing the things brought up added up to roughly $1100. I signed my bill for the oil change after going over the next scheduled maintenance (which to be honest I ignored at that point), and I get in my car, and there's a pair of needle nose pliers in my seat with empty bags.. not very professional to leave your stuff in someone's car, but I returned them. Fast forward to this week. I'm driving down the freeway, and I've been hearing a rattling from my front passenger side wheel well for a day or so. I think it's odd, so I look under my car. Where they took the under carriage covers off to replace my airbags and changed my oil, they neglected to secure the pins, so they are gone. They are currently zip tied until I can order pins. I will absolutely not be returning even though I live less than a mile from this dealership. I would have waited all day, just as long as they did their job right the first time and were more professional. read more
