The potatoes were delicious and reminded me of the vegetables that are often served with a Sunday roast in Germany (I actually lived there for 25 years). A restaurant does not have to be 'upscale' to receive a high rating. I did take away a star for the salad. It was just ok, pre-made and kept in the fridge until time to serve it. The romaine edges were dry, as were the carrots. The dressing was fine and I did eat the whole salad. As a matter of fact, I cleaned my plate. The guy to the left of me asked me if I was gonna post the empty plate on YELP with my review. Great idea. It turns out that the man was Ford Swanson Jr., the owner. I had no idea and I told him that. His response was, "I didn't want you to know." I guess he wanted to see if I really liked my food. When I returned, there were several employees surrounding my wife in front of the entire dining room. The hostess stated she did not recognize me, and the waiter, who had already served us multiple times, initially failed to remember us as well. My wife attempted to show proof of payment on her phone, but it would not load due to network issues. The waiter had also already removed the receipt from our table. After I reminded the waiter of our drink order and details from our service, he finally remembered us and confirmed we had paid. By that point, however, my wife had already been publicly embarrassed while numerous guests watched the situation unfold. We understand mistakes can happen, but the way this situation was handled was extremely unprofessional and humiliating. We hope this matter is addressed so future guests are not treated similarly.
