They said they only took credit. When i saw, they chraged me $1.75 for the card fee. They said whether it's debit or credit, they charge a fee. Only when you pay cash there's no fee, which they won't tell you ahead of time. Nor did they disclose the fee when i paid. I asked for a receipt and they said it will take two days for me to get it. Not coming back. I've never been charged a fee for co-pays and i got a receipt as soon as I paid. Very fishy.

I later requested the CPT codes, contacted my insurance company directly, and obtained a second opinion. I was told that medically necessary reconstruction following Mohs is typically covered when performed by an in-network surgeon. When I raised my concern with Dr. Rokhsar's office and asked for an explanation, I did not receive a substantive response. Instead, I received a letter terminating the physician-patient relationship. I also requested electronic access to my medical records and have not yet receive a response to that follow-up request. I have filed a complaint with the New York State Office of Professional Medical Conduct. I would encourage patients to independently verify insurance coverage, CPT codes, and reconstructive options before proceeding.

Dr. Shelton majored in Biomathematics. He is an extraordinarily intelligent, intuitive, and personable professional as well as a gifted surgeon. The procedure itself came off flawlessly, and both he and I were extremely pleased with the surgery results during two follow-up sessions.
