The appointment with Dr. Verhave was very rushed. Before I finished my concerns, he indicated time was up and we should table the discussion to the next visit. PA with 3 years experience was OK but when I requested to see a Dr. for consultation about a serious rash that kept expanding and worsening I was told no Dr. was available at the site. I returned a week later as the rash worsened and again was told no Dr. was there at site (East 55th St. in Manhattan) and Dr. Fenton was unavailable all summer. In my view, there should be an available Dr. on call at a large facility like this. Finally had to find an experienced Dermatologist elsewherewho immediately recognized a bad id reaction to poison ivy and successfully treated me with oral prednisone. read more

LOVED how efficient my annual skin exam was. Loved how nice they were and how they were not pushy for me to buy their products. I don't even think they sell their own products? I've been to a ton of derms in the city who upsell everything. Here, I just had my skin exam, they gave me some recommendations, and I was done in 30 minutes. They have amazing availability (my appointment was at 730am). There was 1 person ahead of me but I had no wait. I filled out a quick survey on an iPad for medical history. Lara did my skin exam and she was super thorough and I felt really comfortable asking her questions and asking her to check different spots. Elizabeth was really helpful in writing down all the recommendations and explaining how to use the recommendations with my current skin routine. Btw their recommendations were mostly prescription products not the skincare products that other derms get commissions for selling. Scheduling was amazing (they have a texting system). I always procrastinate my annual skin exam and usually skip it because I hate scheduling and waiting at doctors' offices, but Schweiger Derm made it so easy and fast. I have only had PTSD-inducing experiences with SchweigerDerm call center. 2 years ago, following a horrible accident that left me with a shattered leg, I needed to be seen because I had horrible welts at each of my incision sites. The doctor who saw me (diagnosing mw with both contact dear and impetigo- saying, "how'd you get THAT?"*) gave me his card and told me to call if I needed him. I did need medical help, as it turned out, since my symptoms worsened. I spent an agonizing week calling and emailing him and calling the Call Center. I got the run around after a week, I was finally told that the doctor had gone on a two week vacation. And there was no covering doctor. This is medical malpractice. I got a pro forma follow up email from the doctor after he got back. Of course I told him about my horrified realization that he had gone and left me hanging. He ghosted me. *I now gave reason to believe that my issue was an allergic reaction to glue used in my operation With the current pandemic, I was advised that my scheduled appointment with my doctor was migrating online. I texted him (I won't go through the call center if I can avoid it.) They never competed migrating my file online and hadn't actually scheduled me. The doctor sent me a link to help them update my files, but there was a technical glitch. I spent far too much of my time online trying to resolve it, and hung up in disgust when they said they would just have me try again and again. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS CORPORATE GROUP. If you find a doctor you like affiliated with them- just work something out personally. Or don't deal with them at all. read more

This review is for Dr. Nazarian. TLDR: she is absolutely amazing, go to her. I'll tell my story with Schweiger Derm: I all of a sudden was having some annoying acne issues... nothing extremely bad but enough that it was bothering me and something I hadn't experienced since I was a teenager. Dr. Nazarian ended up being the 3rd dermatologist that I saw. The first one, I just didn't really like to be honest. No need to name names, but I just felt that I was rushed in and out and wasn't given the proper attention that I should have. I asked to see a different Dr. a month later and I actually really liked her, but I come to find out that she is leaving on maternity leave that next week. Both of these doctors were conveniently located near my office in their Flatiron location. I decided to go pretty far out of my way to this Murray Hill location to see Dr. Nazarian, and I'm so happy that I did. She was incredibly easy to talk to, explained in TONS of detail everything that she was recommending and what she thought was going on with my skin. I ended up changing all of my cleanser and lotion products based on her recommendation -- one that I thought would cause me to spend astronomical amounts on boutique, expensive products... come to find out they were cheaper than the Kiehl's that I had been using for a decade and can be bought at Duane Reade. Huge win. My skin is better than it has been in years and I've finally found my go-to derm here in NYC. If you've been browsing reviews like I was, look no further. She's an amazing doctor. I took advantage of the Thanksgiving sale and purchased one Fraxel treatment at the virtual cosmetic consultation and scheduled the treatment for today. I again got a call at 9 this morning to confirm that I should get there by 12:30. I happened to double check with them that if I was prepaid. Then the lady told me that I had to schedule my treatment within one week of the purchase date in order to apply the Thanksgiving price, so I need to pay for the full price if I visit the office today or they can refund me. I was never told by anyone about this; the consultant even suggested me to buy two treatments at that time, only I decided to buy one in the end. I asked if I can talk to the consultant again or anyone that can help because first of all I wasn't informed about the valid period at all, I already prepared everything for the treatment today, and I took the week off from work also for this. The lady talked to the office manager real quick but the answer was still a cold no. They don't sound they care at all and they just can't wait to refund me and cancel my treatment. It's not just money, dear office manager; couldn't you be more considerate. I'm frustrated the service I have does not match that the one I purchased, and I requested days off so I can stay home while recovering. Now my plan for this week is ruined all of a sudden. This is a great medical practice, I wish all my doctor's offices were like Schweider on 35th. A few weeks ago I brought one of my children in and we saw Dr. Michelle Farber. She was very patient and answered all of our questions. Today I saw Dr. Darrell Rigel for a full skin cancer screening, he was very thorough, and also answered all my questions, a wonderful experience. The office staff are amazing and very friendly and very warm and welcoming. Everyone is very professional. The nurse staff also are very high level. The office is very orderly, very clean and very spacious. All the patients seem to be seen within a few minutes of arriving. A great and well managed medical office. read more

They have no respect for other people's time. I came it at the same time as a white, middle aged man in a suit. We had the same appointment time. He was seen first not long after and I had to leave because I waited for half hour for my appointment before I was seen and ended up leaving before I saw the doctor because I told them in advance that I had a 2 pm appointment when I arrived on time for 1 pm, when I told them that I had another appointment. I came here for over a year now, my face condition improves a lot. I have very sensitive and acne prompt skin, plus I am trying to get pregnant. There are very limited products and treatment I can use, but the doctors provided several products and treatment that are very suitable to my skin. The doctors are very professional and kind. It has multiple locations in New York and it is easy to schedule an appointment. Sometimes I can get the same day appointment or next day appointment. They take most of the healthcare insurances, however before I use up my insurance deductible, I have to pay out of pocket, which is $125 per visit. First of all I was able to get a same day appointment which I appreciates. When I arrived the front desk personal were very pleasant and efficient. After filling out my personal information on a tablet I was taken back into a room a short time later. I was met by Lisa a friendly medical assistant who made me comfortable. I've waited quite some time to write this review as I generally try to leave medical appointments out of Yelp. However, I want others to have a chance to read about my experience before they ever make an appt with Schweiger. My first and last appointment with Dr. Michele Farber was early / mid 2018. I first found her on zocdoc and saw she was both MD and FAAD so I thought I would be able to trust her expertise on the terrible rounds of deep cystic acne I had been going through the prior months. It was an EOD appt so perhaps she was already backed up throughout the day, but I was stuck sitting in the waiting room for awhile past my appt time. And when I finally saw her after the PA, she seemed to have been exhausted and wasn't attentive to my concerns. Almost seemingly brushing off my issues. Here's the big problem I had with this place: I told them and even filled out on the forms that I had a bad reaction to Bactrim, which a quick google search would tell you the active ingredients are trimethoprim and sulfamethoxazole. After looking at my acne and injecting the cortisone shots, not only does she push Schweiger's pricey products on me (which I ignorantly ended up buying bc I was desperate and I never even ended up using them), but she prescribed me a SODIUM SULFACETAMIDE-SULFUR CLEANSER. At the time, I didn't realize that I was probably allergic to it so I kept using the cleanser for MONTHS and my deep cystic acne kept getting worse instead. I was ignorant and didn't put 2 and 2 together until my usual trusted derm I swear by called me after I stupidly asked if she could refill that cleanser for me and she asked if I was sure bc if I'm allergic to Bactrim, then I def shouldn't be using the cleanser. Guess what? After I stopped using the cleanser, the cystic acne finally started to go away. And it took MONTHS of facials and at home treatments before I finally started to feel comfortable in my own skin again. I get that everybody responds to treatments differently, but this was next level carelessness! I suppose you can come here for trivial matters like cosmetic reasons, but I would NOT trust Dr. Farber if she couldn't even get a simple case of cystic acne right. What kind of doctor / derm prescribes treatments and not even realize that the patient is allergic to the active ingredients?! read more

The staff was amazing from reception to shivoon ( I'm sure I spelled her name wrong) the doc's assistant to Dr. Michele Farber, MD, FAAD. She explained everything very clearly. the whole process was quick and efficient. I had a minor cosmetic procedure. Had a decent first meeting, but the office was terrible at scheduling allergy testing. 3 months later and numerous cancelations from the various doctors and a lack of patch tests available, I gave up and went to another dermatology group. They literally wanted me to travel to the upper east side for testing because that office had patches. Why not get some patches sent over to Brooklyn? This is, by far, the BEST dermatologist office I've ever been to (and I've been to many unfortunately). From check in to check out, the staff is always friendly and welcoming. I even get goodie bags to take home with me without even asking sometimes! The office is bright and clean. They offer cold bottles of water to thirsty patients in the lobby... A super nice touch, especially on hot summer days! As for services, Schweiger does it all. And they occasionally run specials to help those of us who need a little more help than skincare and makeup to feel our best. This has allowed me to try a few new procedures that I otherwise would not have. (CoolSculpt for the hereditary double chin actually works!!) I see the amazing Dr. Daughtridge. She and her assistant always treat me like someone they're genuinely happy to see. I actually feel like I'm visiting my girlfriends rather than being seen by my doctor. They are kind and empathetic and you can tell they truly want the best for their patients. I'm so happy to have found a dermatologist who understands my skincare and aging goals and is always available to talk with me about my dermatological needs, any issues I may be having, or even just life in general. Horrible. He did a laser procedure that resulted in burns and extensive permanent scarring. I've spent thousands of dollars trying to fix what he did. The worst part is that he had zero remorse. He did not follow up with me to see the outcome. Had I not informed him of what happened, and scheduled an appointment to show him, he would never have known nor cared. If my skin didn't hurt so much right now, I might actually be laughing from how unprofessional my experience was. Marianne has the skill and bedside manner of a dry sponge. The medical assistant (thankfully!) seemed to have more knowledge and compassion than her and helped quite a bit. I am amazed that this woman is certified to see human patients. I don't usually write reviews, but I was very unsatisfied with the service provided. When I went in for my appointment, the receptionist was very rude towards me. She made it seem like I was a bother when I asked her questions about my appointment. I met with a physician named Emily, and she seemed to careless. She looked at my face for a couple of minutes and then immediately wrote me a prescription and said I was done. I asked her if she could explain more of my issue and she claimed it was the New York air. I asked her if she had any other recommendations for skin treatments that I can add in my regimen at home and she just wrote me another prescription. I spent a lot of money on the creams that were recommended, and they are making my skin burn and peel. They are not even fixing my acne problem. Go see Danielle D at the Murray Hill location - she is compassionate and LISTENS (I did not experience this when I went to the Schweiger Derm Flatiron location) and super knowledgeable about treating the skin properly, without over-prescribing harsh medications (again, what I experienced in the Flatiron location). I woke up this morning very upset about the state of my skin, called the Murray Hill office in a panic, met Danielle and left feeling like we had a great plan to clear my skin and that she was truly interested in helping. Dr. Farber did such a great job with my skin. I have been seeing her on and off for multiple years. She is patient, always thoughtful in her recommendations and remembers details about me, which is more than I can say about some other medical professionals I see! You can tell she really cares about her patients and wants to see successful results. After a few months and many different medication changes, Dr. Farber has helped my skin look just about perfect. The office staff are also great-- they worked with my insurance company/pharmacy to prescribe covered versions of the scripts, and helped me with some billing issues I had with my insurance. I have been seeing Danielle Daughtridge for around 7 months -- I was dealing with some pretty stubborn hormonal acne and scarring from these breakouts and since seeing Danielle my skin has cleared up dramatically. Danielle is super friendly and knowledgable, and does a great job of finding a routine that works for you -- I had previously done a consultation with a different dermatologist who told me the only fix would be a *very* expensive laser treatment. Danielle's approach was much more reasonable (for me), she is also continually checking in that the costs of the creams she's providing is not out of my budget. read more

2 of the doctors in this group should have retired years ago. 1 of them, who is at this office, prescribed such useless lunacy as moisturizer over open lesions and a topical steroid for hyperpigmentation. Of course, neither solution worked. I cancelled a 3rd visit. These were routine office visits, which my insurance covers. But this office keeps trying to balance bill me for the money they THINK they should be getting. I mean, Schweiger signed a contract with the insurance co to accept the money on the schedule of benefits as payment in full. But Schweiger thinks they are different and doesn't get why they are making me crazy. The office staff and nurses IN THIS OFFICE were just fine. If you want to use this corporation, which has sucked up a giant number of derms in NYC, I'd say seriously vet the doctor before you go. And put your foot down HARD when they try to take you later. Schweiger Dermatology's office has a white minimalist aesthetic (don't think the simplicity of the Gotham typeface logo went unnoticed on this designer), complemented by its cleanly spotlessness. The staff is superbly friendly and welcoming. Marianne Pistilli, PA is the ultimate. She's friendly and kind, has a lovely bedside manner, and is meticulous to the nth degree, a necessary characteristic in the field of dermatology. I've met with her a few times for various face-related treatments and I always leave the office feeling confident, cared for, and clean. I lose my mind a bit when needles or any pain-related medical procedures are about to begin. I'm talkin' vasovagal episodes, complete with dizziness, sweating, nausea, and overall existential crisis over something as simple as a pinprick. Rosie, the sweetest nurse I've had the pleasure of knowing, didn't hesitate for one second when I mentioned my nerves or lack thereof when it came to any type of procedure (even a simple blackhead removing treatment or tiny cortisone injections). She jumped into action with bags of ice for my head and neck, a cold bottle of water, and a hand to hold as Marianne worked her magic. Been waiting 2 weeks for a call regarding a possible cancerous mole on my back and blood work, that I was told I'd have a result on in 2-3 days. YOU CAN NEVER get anyone on the phone. I had a referral from my GP for a skin check that they had screwed up and she helped me navigate it and was able to have me back in later the same day. Dr. Farber was lovely. Nobody wants to have someone look at their whole body with a magnifying glass but it was quick and thorough.
