It was hard trying to maintain conversations with her, and I just felt judged the entire time. I couldn't help but notice her unwelcome facial expressions when I glanced in the mirror, as well as her condescending tone. Here's one of the main moments that stuck out to me: while drying my hair, she rudely said "ummm did you paint or something?" I said no... after the long silence I asked why she would ask. She said "well it's like. White. You don't have lice but it looks like dried paint. It's probably because your scalp is so dry." Okay... thanks? After I asked her to try to take whatever it was out of my hair she ignored me and roughly brushed my hair. I can list so many other rude moments that happened within the hour that I was there. I tried not to let this experience affect my mood for MY ENGAGEMENT. My hair was NOT the same as the reference photos, not even close. It was literally just curled and not blown out or styled the way I wanted. I tried to have her brush and fix my hair after she said it was done. I was so over it and didn't want to cause a scene. I paid and left. Which by the way- my hair was flat by the time my engagement happened. My appointment was around 1:30 and my engagement was at 5. Completely flat. Thanks for nothing. I had really high hopes because of the happy and positive reviews Laura had. Disappointed to say the least. Won't come back again. I wanted to share my honest experience because my recent visit was pretty disappointing. On top of that, sitting in the chair felt pretty awkward towards the end--there was a clear, unsettling tension between the stylist and her assistant while my hair was being done that made the appointment uncomfortable to sit through. Given she was working on my self and 1 other client at the same time. When I messaged her privately to share how things went and how unsatisfied I was with my hair, her reply felt a bit defensive & dismissive. I waited a week to decide to speak up or make any remarks regarding my service in hopes that I just had to period of adjusting to my hair. Instead of fully understanding my concerns about the service, she gave explanations and shifted focus on justifying the dynamic with her assistant and offered a 25% refund ($38.75) for a $150+ service. While I did not expect a full refund as she still did render services, I at least would have appreciate a refund for half my service. Given the outcome of my hair and the overall experience, that refund felt unfair and sadly the response from her was just not as anticipated. I already make the 40 minute drive to come down here since I've had a great experience before so I couldn't justify coming back down to do any adjustments given the experience. I had to go somewhere local to adjust my face framed curtain bangs as walking around with hair that makes you feel uncomfortable is a horrible feeling. That alone was $40 to adjust on top of what was spent here. It's tough when you decide to speak out about your experience directly with any stylist and get met with defensive or unexpected responses. I sadly won't be returning, as I grew my hair out for 7 months and decided to come here just to be met with a unsatisfied outcome and even worse response to my experience. Overall more disappointed and saddened by this than angry. I wish it could have gone a lot better.

I asked her a million questions because I had no idea what type of cut I needed. She told me she could fit me into her schedule 2 hours before pictures. Nervously, I confirmed. When I arrived 15 minutes late (my fault), Fawzeya was nothing but super friendly and professional. She asked me how I wanted my cut, and I said "you're the pro, just make me look good please". I'm not sure of the exact number of years of experience she told me she has, but I think she told me 42 years, she must've started when she was an infant. I'm so glad that she was able to fit me into her schedule because the wedding photos were beautiful, my hair feels great, and everyone is still telling me how amazing it looks! I live in San Jose so the salon, and Fawzeya are 6 hours away in Anaheim, but next time I'm in southern California, I will surely make an appointment with Fawzeya. Thanks again!
