My husband and I stayed at Adrift Hotel during our honeymoon, so our expectations were high! And…read moreAdrift Hotel completely exceeded those expectations. The hotel staff greeted us with a welcome package for our dog, which she was completely obsessed with. Branded tennis ball and everything. The owner and staff gave us great, specific recommendations for places to see during our trip, including fantastic hiking and biking locations. The food at the hotel restaurant was DELICIOUS. The beach, which is right next to the hotel, was wonderfully open, with none of the intensity of Canon Beach (which I also love, but for very different reasons). The pool and saunas were lovely and clean. And we had to go home with multiple bottles from Adrift Distillery. If you're looking for a truly relaxing, fun, romantic getaway, this is it. And if you need a place that's dog-friendly, this one really is.

I had mixed feelings about my stay here. The property makes a strong first impression -- the staff…read moreis friendly, the lobby smells great, and the overall aesthetic is charming and inviting. There's definitely a cool, curated vibe, and the coffee/tea setup in the lobby is a nice touch. I also appreciated the complimentary bikes and the ease of using them. That said, the rooms didn't quite live up to the price point (around $400+ for two weekend nights). The building itself feels older and a bit worn beneath the cosmetic updates. Our room, in particular, showed signs of heavy use -- the bed was noticeably worn and dipped in the middle, and some of the finishes felt a bit cheap or improvised. Noise was also an issue. Despite requesting a top-floor room, we were placed directly under the restaurant, and we could hear footsteps, banging, and general activity until about midnight each night. Soundproofing overall seemed pretty minimal, which made it hard to fully relax. There were also a few small inconveniences -- no hotel phone, no central air, limited trash space, and some quirky (but not very functional) design choices like exposed cable management. The spa had potential but fell short during our visit. One sauna door didn't close properly, another wasn't working at all, and the overall experience felt underwhelming given the atmosphere they're going for. I can see the appeal of this place -- especially for families or those drawn to its aesthetic -- but for the price and volume of guests they accommodate, I expected a bit more attention to detail and upkeep. With some improvements, it could really shine.

Stayed over Memorial weekend. Good overall experience. Friendly staff. Clean rooms…read more The good: Check-in was easy and fast. Everyone was so friendly, from the check-in clerk to the maids. Very helpful when I had questions. They even had quarters on hand when my daughter unexpectedly needed to wash laundry (they have on-site quarter laundry machines). Special shout-out to Tammy (second-floor maid) who was super nice and helpful! She worked with us on a time to get towels and trash that wouldn't interfere with our toddler's nap. She stocked us with tissues (one kiddo was sick) and plenty of fresh towels and made sure I knew where she would be if I needed anything. Breakfast staff offered ice when my toddler bonked her head. The breakfast was good: hot scrambled eggs, sausage, gravey. Hard-boiled eggs, two kinds of cold cereal, hot oatmeal packets, mini bagels, mini muffins, rolls. Yogurt. And hot waffles, which were fluffy and really good! Coffee, tea, juices. They had a few board games and kid books near the breakfast area, which was helpful when my toddler was done with breakfast but we weren't. The room was quiet- I didn't hear more than one "thump" and that was during the daytime. The hotel was within walking distance of many eateries, fun shops, and even the beach is a 10min walk away. Great location. The bad: Room was smaller than I expected, which made for a cramped stay with 5 people. We had a two queen room and brought an air mattress as well. Room was dusty but overall clean Only had a few channels of direct tv, and no access to Disney+, Prime, or Netflix. Not sure if it was advertised but would have been nice to know ahead of time, especially with kids. Thankfully, there were some decent kids movies playing most of the time. There's a tv in the lobby/breakfast area, which one morning was playing a show that I felt wasn't appropriate for younger audiences. It was a bit humid. The room a/c helped with thata bit. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay and a fine launchpad for our Memorial weekend adventures. I would come here again.

Seems overpriced, even in August. Rooms are small and sparse. I feel a little itchy after being here. I would not recommend, but I also wouldn't necessarily warn people away. Meh. Cookies at the front desk were good. I'm sending a mixed message here, I know, but overall it's a disappointing experience.

The property feels like a retreat with a lovely atmosphere that feels a world apart from Long Beach despite being so close in proximity to town. We didn't have time to make full use of the pool, sauna, or pickleball courts - but these amenities would be perfect for a rainy day at the coast and when we come back we'll make more time in our schedule to use them. Check-in/check-out was a breeze and staff was very pleasant. They let me borrow a lighter for a birthday cake which was much appreciated! The walk to the beach is very scenic and beautiful in itself. Highly recommend this resort!

Prior to this visit, the rooms were fairly basic, but very adequate. Today, we arrived to find a beautifully updated room, that feels much bigger and much cleaner than they previously were. We have new appliances, new countertop and backsplash, new floors, a larger couch, a huge king bed, a walk-in shower with a new vanity, and everything is just stunning. Very well done! From the bottom units, you have a small deck with a bench, and upper units have a balcony. All rooms overlook the dunes, and the higher ones can catch you a glimpse of the ocean. You spend the evening listening to the roar of the waves. It's so relaxing. In the main office area, you'll find a recreation room, vending machines, and espresso stand with good coffee, and a huge saline pool that's in a solarium type of building. Their fitness center is small but it's something. They love dogs, and it shows. You'll get a welcome pack for your mutt, and there's a lighthouse themed dog house in the parking lot that you can take pictures of your dog with. There's two TVs - you can stream from your device in the bedroom, or watch cable in the living room. You'll have a gas fireplace, a lounge chair, a couch that folds out into a bed with a nice, squishy mattress, and a two person dining table. The staff here have been here a long time, and it's always nice to see a familiar face when we arrive. Shout out to Kevin! Always friendly and helpful. It's about a five minute drive to downtown Long Beach, where you'll find a bakery, an arcade, and lots of shops and restaurants. Don't forget you can even drive on the beach! You'll love it here.

I should have known this was wrong because they then charged me right away. I later wanted to use a different credit card and booking service, so I tried to cancel my Expedia reservation. Expedia couldn't do anything about the refund, and I didn't get any cash back credit for the stay because it showed as cancelled on their end. The male worker at the inn refused to let me get a refund on my original credit card. Once we were there, it was insufferable. Our room faced west, so keeping the windows open during the day time would warm the place up too much even with curtains closed. The room was severely stuffy no matter what we did. There's no air conditioning, but they provide a fan that doesn't give any relief from the sun's heat. The rooms aren't soundproof at all. I could hear people on the other side of the bathroom flushing their toilet. I also got sick when I was there and went to the front desk to ask for a bottle of water that should come with the room because we didn't want housekeeping. The front desk wouldn't give me one and said I had to wait till the next day and ask housekeeping myself because housekeeping was done.

It's a one floor motel so no worries about accessibility. Our room was refurbished and the decor was modern and cool. They had these felt panels on the walls that made it look modern in a good way and the room was huge and spacious. The windows opened so we could get fresh air and they have smart TVs. The room was extremely clean. In the lobby they serve breakfast which is basically a hard boiled egg, Svenhards type pastry, yogurt, cereal, and coffee, so temper your expectations. What's nice is that at night, when the staff is away, the lobby offers hot drinks like coffee, tea, and they even had microwave popcorn. How cool is that? They have a saloon attached, but we came on a cool weekday so they closed up shop and wasn't serving food or drinks so that was a let down. Mind you, this hotel is not on the beach, but it's a short walk away. It's not fancy, but it's centrally located and I'm happy to stay here again.

We arrived shortly before check-in time at 4pm. We were provided with site information, parking permit, and wristbands/room cards. Somehow I ended up with a major room upgrade, which was greatly appreciated. I also appreciated the welcoming and congratulatory items: tote bag full of snacks, fresh baked cookies, wine, cider, jam, and various local business discounts. The overall site was large with onsite communal areas. We did not use any of them, but nice to know of its availability, such as: library, DVDs, onsite cafe & mini market, gaming area, workout room, pool and hot tub. Our home away from home for a week had two twin beds, a double Murphy bed, and a king bed, two bathrooms with amenities like extra towels, blowdryer, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash. There was also a washer/dryer, fully equipped kitchen, living room, and dining table & counter seating. There was also a patio with grill, 3 flatscreens, DVD player, fireplace, and overhead fans. Despite the WiFi availability, using our phone service as a hot spot proved to be faster and better connectivity. We felt the property was relatively safe and secure, had proximity to retail, activity venues (movie theater, horse corral, go-karts, kite store, bike rental, and mini golf) & dining sites, and great public beach access. Overall onsite staff were welcoming and professional. So why just three versus five stars? As a long time owner (well before WorldMark, Wyndham, and Travel & Leisure), there were things that weren't quite up to expectations. Dated interiors like faded or chipped trim and sills, visible debris on the window sills (dead fly), carpet (paint chips, bobby pin), dingy towels, sand in the washer, and dirty glassware/flatware. Let's just say we kept our socks on and that also demonstrated that the carpets weren't quite as clean or thoroughly vacuumed. Under the living room sofa cushions, more visible debris. I used Clorox wipes from home on lots of surfaces. I swept floors, put towels in piles by each tub, bagged up our collective trash, and even took our compostable/recyclables back home. We did our best to make it easier on Housekeeping to turn over our room. We even checked out an hour early, 9am instead of 10am. We also waited patiently earlier during our stay to deal with scheduled unit sprinkler system inspection. A few minutes stated on the phone ended up being 90 minutes. Other guests were loud or heavy footed, even after so-called quiet hours. I get it that it's a resort getaway, not a library. Lots of unattended kids on the elevator, running in the hallways. Entire groups taking up communal areas for hours on end. Enough said. Despite attending an owner's meeting last summer at another location, I had to attend yet another one here. Informative, but yet again, I left feeling not quite so VIP because I stood firm to not purchase additional credits and upgrades. Costly enough with owner dues and fees as is. Would I stay here again? Probably not. Other WorldMark properties along the WA & OR coasts have better upkeep. I've stayed at many WM sites in Canada, Washington, Oregon, and Hawaii. This was the first time so many anomalies stood out. Good to get away from it all to decompress and explore, but definitely glad to return home.
