Recommend: Yes Food:One afternoon after church, I decided to try something new and stopped by Camp Outpost. I ordered the cast iron queso and a blackened fish taco. The queso was absolutely delicious--I cleaned the plate! The chips were super crunchy and tasted like they were freshly made, which made it even better. The blackened fish taco was also really good, served on a corn tortilla with slaw that complemented the fish nicely. The menu has a wide variety of options, from salads to burgers and sandwiches, and there are definitely several items I'd love to come back and try. Service:The ordering process is flexible--they offer QR codes if you prefer to order digitally, but they also provide physical menus, which I appreciated. Everything felt smooth and convenient during my visit, even though I arrived just before their happy hour (which I believe runs from 3-7 daily), so I didn't get to take advantage of those specials. Ambiance:From the street, this place looks like a cute little spot, and it only gets better once you walk in. There's a covered outdoor patio with plenty of seating, plus an RV in the patio area that looks like it might serve drinks (it was closed when I visited). The patio seems like it would be perfect for a cool spring evening or early summer day to hang out with friends. Inside, the space feels like a fully renovated older building--everything is updated, clean, and beautifully decorated. There's a great mix of seating options, from more intimate tables for two to larger group setups. The big windows let in tons of natural light, making the space feel open and airy. Overall: Camp Outpost is a great spot with a welcoming vibe, solid food, and plenty of options on the menu. I'd definitely come back, especially to check out happy hour and try more dishes!

I placed a DoorDash order and was really excited to try the food. However, I was left sorely disappointed as the chicken completely lacked any flavor, as did the chunks of vegetables that accompanied it. The potatoes I received were also undercooked. It's a cool concept, but my meal was wholly lacking in flavor. Usually the sauce can fix it, but the sauce was in the same boat. My doordasher was great but I didn't have occasion to experience their service or the restaurant's ambiance.

Good experience here before seeing a concert in San Antonio. We were looking for somewhere easy to get to near the highway before heading the rest of the way down to the Boeing Center venue from Austin. I found Camp on the map and after checking their Yelp page, decided this would be the perfect spot. We went during happy hour on purpose and got discounted margaritas and cuba libres (only 5-6$ each). Delicious! I went with the WOOD-GRILLED SHRIMP TACOS$16.95: fresh slaw, guacamole, pickled red onions, pickled jalapeño and they were served with tortilla chips and camp tomatillo sauce. They were good, but too soggy. Each taco was just soaking wet. My fiance got the CAMP BURGER $17.95: two angus beef patties, american cheese, tomato, pickle, red onion, lettuce, camp sauce, toasted brioche bun. He could only eat half because same issue - falling apart and too wet. The protein definitely needed to be drained before going on bread or tortillas. It was good for what we were looking for - a quick meal before a show - but wasn't amazing. The prices were right though! I would definitely give this place another chance.

Fast service and plenty of seating inside and out. The food was really flavorful with filling portions. There's a bar and they had cookies for dessert. It's a very laid back vibe. They have daily happy hour. The parking lot is very small so if you go when it's busy you'll probably need to find street parking.

Camp Outpost is one of those southtown gems that I wish more people were talking about! This amazing restaurant specializes in high wood-fired quality rotisserie, slow cooked over oak. Everything from their menu is made fresh to order and the flavor in all their meats is unbelievable! Since their opening they've added a happy hour menu which includes bites from $4-$8. They also have great beer specials and frozen cocktails specials in their happy hour menu which makes it the perfect spot for an after work spot. From their main menu I really like their Outpost Club which is the rotisserie chicken, hickory smoked bacon, romaine, herb mayo on a texas toast. For sides, I highly recommend their crispy brussels sprouts which comes with a side of cesar salad dressing which is absolutely genius!

On our first visit to Camp Outpost we had our pups with us so we were looking for a dog friendly spot to grab lunch and we lucked out finding this cool spot. Right on the edge of Southtown, Camp Outpost is a great spot with wonderful food and an amazing outdoor dining area. They have seating inside as well but the outdoor area has ample space with large tables and plenty of covering for shade. There is astroturf and plenty of vegetation surrounding the fenced in outdoor seating, The food and drinks are perfectly made and, you order at the counter and the food is prepared in an open kitchen area then brought to your table by a server. The service wax great and the restaurant was spotless inside and out. I'm so glad we found another option for dining in South Town and I can't wait to go back!

I had the Cobb salad and my friend had the fried chicken sandwich. So good! The fries were served in a cute little metal cup, but I think it retained moisture and made the fries soggy, so dump out your fries when they are served. Order at the counter. Food is delivered quickly. The vibe is cool. The outdoor patio is going to be really nice now that the weather is cooling down. The location of this space is ideal for date nights or group exploits. During the day, you can walk over to Camp Street to spend time at Chris Park, Ruby City, and the San Pedro Creek Culture Park. On the Second Saturday of each month (in the evening), you can drive down S. Flores to 1906 S. Flores for an art walk; on First Friday, head the other direction--down S. Alamo--to Blue Star art galleries for a similar experience.

*** very solid choice for lunch - try the rotisserie chicken! *** Camp Outpost delivers "wood-fired rotisserie meats and seasonally fresh grilled sides." I found this place by searching Google Maps along my route through San Antonio back to New Mexico. Then I perused the trusty Yelp app to verify its goodness. My daughters and I snack a lot on road trips, so we weren't super hungry. While the staff members were super friendly, one kept asking if we needed more food. We didn't. We all shared the following: + Half Chicken ($21.95) - includes roasted Yukon potatoes, corn, poblano peppers, onions, chimichurri + Brussel Sprouts ($7.95) - sea salt, cracked pepper, Caesar dressing The chicken fell off the bones. It was juicy and tender. After we devoured the chicken, we all fought over the potatoes. My oldest and I really enjoyed the Brussel sprouts, but my youngest could care less about them. We washed it down with some fantastic sweet tea or a Mexican Coke. BONUS The serve very good iced water at each table. Clean sex-neutral restroom with a large community sink in a separate area. Free, but funky parking lot. It was easy to get to even when the lower level freeways were closed due to recent flooding. Indoor and outdoor seating. I'm a fan. Checked this place out earlier this month for happy hour, chips and guac are good, have that nice crunch. It's a sit down place where you order off a QR code so service is very basic. The inside looks like an older camper van. The outside seating area is nice and big for lots of groups and dogs.

Not impressed. Cute concept tho. Got there in time for happy hour, thankful but bill was still rather high Don't trust the tip calculator, they include taxes They don't really serve you, you order and they accompany you to your table of choice , then pretty much dump you to fend for yourself. After paying 25% tip, not happy. Inside or outside seating, all very hard on my back, bring a seat pad. Very echoey if it bothers your ears, go outside where they have another bar Chicken looked better than it tasted, very Smokey. Think Costco may taste better. Honey mustard dressing is more like just plain horseradish so careful Fish taco didn't have much taste Parking is free but the private lot is limited Not worth our trip but you may think otherwise

Another great experience. This place rocks. Staff has always been great and the place is very inviting. Awesome spot to hang with friends. Maybe a lunch date. It really is well round for all occasions. The food is awesome. A must try. I love picking up for lunch and my favorite is the outpost club. I switched it up and got the gluten free bread and it was a winner for me. Give them a try soon.

Morrissey hadn't graced San Antonio in over 10 years, with past cancellations and postponements haunting fans along the way. So when he finally returned, San Antonio Moz fans showed up and showed out. Despite multiple after-party options across the city, fans from Brazil, the UK, Canada, Japan, and all across the U.S. chose Bang Bang Bar as the place to be on a cold Saturday night. Hosted by local emcee Ricardo Moz and Apollo DJ, the night turned into one for the history books. Bang Bang Bar is easily one of Texas' best dive-lounge bars...the perfect blend of gritty and cozy. Great cocktail program, solid beer selection, and a vibe that just works. The décor leans heavy into a 1950s-60s lounge aesthetic, with intimate spaces like the Blue Room and Yellow Room, perfect for groups of 7-10. Low lighting, warm atmosphere, and zero pretension exactly what you want for a night like this. Bang Bang Bar consistently supports local and touring acts, spanning punk, alternative, and DJ-driven nights, and this Moz Smiths Disco was no exception. It was wall-to-wall classics all night long. Major credit to Phanie and the Bang Bang Bar management they rolled up their sleeves, brought in extra bar staff, and handled an overwhelming crowd like pros. Fans waited up to 45 minutes in the cold, with a line wrapping around the building, and the energy inside never dipped. As the host of Panic On The Streets, I'm incredibly thankful to Bang Bang Bar for helping us pull off one of the best after-parties we've done in years. Fittingly, 2026 marks the 10-year anniversary of both Bang Bang Bar and Panic On The Streets of San Antonio and what a way to celebrate. Bang Bang Bar has long been one of my favorite bars in town, and after this night, that reputation is more than earned. Can't wait to do another Moz Smiths Disco here. -- Panic On The Streets of San Antonio

Drinks were AMAZING! Bartender Rob made the best Negroni I've ever had. I asked him to use whatever gin he thought best--result was an artistic smooooooth full-bodied drink. Told him when I was done I'd lick the glass if it wasn't considered so uncouth for a 'mature' lady like myself to do so Hubby's Buffalo Trace bourbon old fashioned was also outstanding. Rob was the bartender last night who did such a great job, and his work was even better tonight. We highly recommend The EsquireTavern for excellent cocktails. We love the long wood bar and high copper ceiling upstairs, but love the intimate speakeasy atmosphere downstairs even more. We'll definitely be back every time we're in San Antonio! First review, Friday night: Drinks were great (Manhattan and Bourbon Old Fashioned). REAL drinks, no complaints at all about those. And the bartenders were very friendly and helpful. Those aspects of the Esquire get 5+ stars from us. But the appetizers were not good, close to inedible. It was about 8:30pm or so, so maybe they were getting ready to close out the kitchen but the chalupitas with chicken tasted like rubber, and no flavor at all. The seafood platter had something in it that was breading with shell inside, but no meat of any kind. We couldn't figure out what it was supposed to be. The shrimp was good and the fish was good but those other things... We'll always love the drinks, the long wooden bar, and the ambiance at the Esquire Tavern, but we'll eat somewhere else and come here for before or after dinner drinks. (See update above to this review for when we returned the next night for after dinner drinks.)
