Haven't eaten yet so don't use this for a food review. The hostess was very disrespectful and I felt I had to step in to defend our party. We waited in line, when she came back from sitting at table, she tried to tell us that a woman who arrived after us was first. When we disagreed we got all attitude. Then when it was about 35 min of waiting I asked a different hostess an estimate on how much longer. It's very busy so I totally understand that we have to wait, I was just asking to see if I should get another glass of wine or not. The one that was rude, looked at me, then turned her back to me and then started talking to the hostess I was speaking to. I'm not vain enough to think she was talking about me but the fact that she snapped that there are no tables yet right after is not a coincidence. The attitude of the front is not a good look for this place and I am saddened because the people I am with say that the food will be worth it. We took grad pics in the area and walked over to this restaurant. The vibe was pretty eclectic and that's probably because there were multiple grad parties dining both inside and out. We were seated quickly. Service was great as my friend's steak had to be sent back a couple of times due to temperature...... it was fixed without hassle! This establishment really has lots of potential. Not good wise, but staff wise. The staff here is not very welcoming as what someone would want it to be for visiting citizens. BUT if you are able to make sure that every time, ASK FOR MIA! She is a delight to be around, she has a very nice energy that makes you feel like you want to be happy aswell, she's charismatic, and she smiles as soon as she greets you! She is able to connect with you like not a lot of people can, having a conversation, trying to make you feel comfortable and joyful at the same time. Moving on to our next topic, the food. The food is what you would expect it to be, it's not as much as "I gotta get it" more so "this is a nice plate of food". Next topic- Setting They have indoor and outdoor seating options. The outside is dog friendly which might be a turn away for some people who are more cautious around dogs. The inside is a bit chilly but not unbearable. We did not try to sit outside because of this Texas heat in the summer. Outdoor seating would be nice in the evening tho or at night with a breeze. Now a word from my peers- (question asked "how would you describe your experience today?") answer 1- Good, very good, waiter was very nice, fast cooking, everything was freshly made, nachos were delicious. Answer 2- I would describe my experience as a 9.5/10. Answer 3- i would say my experience as delightful. Nice and relaxing, enjoyed my food. Now let's get to everyone's least favorite part of the review- the cons. The only con I have about this place is staff greeting. The people who greet you do not seem happy to be there. They don't greet you with a smile and even tried to sit us in the back deliberately when they passed up two tables that could sit four people which was the exact number of people we had. This is what brings this down to a three star and not a four or five. Service is truly the key component of a good establishment. If you are being treated badly then you won't be able to enjoy your food, but Mia treated us with a smile on her face the whole time. We were able to enjoy the food pleasantly. My #1 pregnancy craving was the wedge salad from Down on Grayson. Is the lettuce simply a vehicle for the dressing and toppings? 100%, but my gosh, the whole thing is delicious. It's a huge salad and I eat the whole thing every time. I'm always the last one to finish their meal when I get this because I'm stuffing the whole plate into my mouth. The blue cheese dressing is incredible with lots of nice chunks of cheese. Had to re-take the plate back due to the meat being cold. Not even two minutes passed and we had the plate back. Meat was microwave hot and everything else was still cold. But, we decided not to waste time and just ate what we had ordered. Alcohol drinks were good but they overfill the small glasses with lots of ice! Specials include half-off all appetizers, $5 frozen cocktails, $6 draft beer and well drinks, $6 select wines, and $8 spicy margaritas, making it a prime spot for drinks on their popular patio. The guacamole is part of a duo with pimento cheese. The guacamole is not spicy but has an amazing, fresh taste. The meatballs had lots of garlic, herb robust sauce. We came in on a super busy Tuesday night. I guess everyone is off for the holidays this week. The wait was a cool 45 minutes, but open seating at the bar, so we were able to be seated immediately. The bar was also super busy, but the bar staff was patient and friendly. We ordered the spicy blackberry limeade, margaritas, the double dip, and parmesan garlic fries. The drinks were on point, tasty and well made. My limeade was perfectly tart and the margarita was potent but tasty. The double dip is my favorite. Pimiento cheese and guacamole served with tortilla chips. Who knew that pimento cheese and tortilla chips was the pairing I needed. Both dips were well seasoned and delicious. The fries are a generous pile of matchstick style topped with garlic and parm. If you try to eat one at a time, you'll be there all night. The fries are also great. My wife and I visited for dinner on Saturday the 3rd of January. We ordered the shishito peppers which were delicious, as always. The entrees were what fell short. My wife got the six ounce filet. It was cooked a perfect medium rare, but it certainly wasn't a filet with all the fat and gristle it had in it. I ordered the anticuchos medium rare. A couple of the pieces of the kebabs were medium rare, but most were medium well and very tough. Not sure what they marinated it in but it was way too acidic. The tortilla chips that came with it weren't bad, but they didn't look like they belonged on the plate. They were just kind of there. Our waiter, whose name I won't mention, didn't seem like he was on his A game at all. We had to ask three times for a cocktail straw and watched him walk by the bar a number of times without grabbing it. Just one example. He still got 20% because he wasn't terrible. One of the best places for outdoor dining in San Antonio! We came on a sunny & hot evening with our pup and we were pleasantly surprised by how comfortable the patio was. There was plenty of shade, misters, and it was so clean and well-manicured. We started with the parmesan fries which were such a treat. For my entree, I ordered the Caesar salad with crispy chicken. Craving for a salad, I ordered their salmon salad. Very disappointed. The salmon was cooked to perfection, but the salad was drenched in dressing and soggy! I ate it, but didn't enjoy it. We were sat immediately even though they looked very busy. Our server was amazing and she told us all the most popular items. My husband had the special, which was an Italian sub with Parmesan fries, my son had chicken tenders and the wedge salad, and I had the Fried Grouper Sandwich with chips. THE CHIPS omg.
