Curt hands me a bill for $780. Curt labeled the flange replacement a "custom job." It was not custom by any definition. I don't know if I was charged for the day before when Tanner could not do the work. The bill stated "custom job $780.00 plus tax. No breakdown for parts and labor. Parts were 1 pvc toilet flange, 1 pvc 3 inch 90, 1 3 inch pvc union and approximately 2 feet of 3 inch pvc pipe. I will guess on the heavy side for parts at $75. So labor was $705 for the 45 minuets of work. Neurosurgeons in Washington state average $378 an hour. I called Curt the next day. Not much to be said about the bill. Get the estimate, get the second opinion! I'm an idiot. I kept the $20. He unwired the existing TACO thermostat controller and could not re-wire it to get it working again as it was before he started the work. He constantly complained about the radiant floor installer and put them blame on them, but the system worked fine before he ruined it. I called in a different plumber to service the system in 2025 and found that the wrong expansion tank was installed. He installed a potable expansion tank on the radiant heat side of the system and did not install an expansion tank on the potable water side. The system was also missing a heat release valve and the exhaust for the boiler was not properly sloped for the condensation that the system creates. I would not recommend this plumber.
