    Dinner time.

My wife and I've kept hearing how we MUST visit Campfire Grill Texas Kitchen and how ALL the food was SO good. Finally, we headed to see what all the allocates were about. We soon found out that all that we heard was true, our visit was phenomenal that started with a warm friendly greeting when we entered the restaurant. With the wonderful signage, we knew we needed to order at the counter where we would receive a number to put on our table. We had to step back for a bit looking up at the menu boards showing all the deliciousness that we could partake in. Gosh, could I have one of everything? My wife said NO you can't. Everything sounded so good. After some "cussing and discussing" we decided on our entrees. My wife opted for the BLT with fries, and I choose the Combo seafood platter with fried catfish and shrimp. I'd never met a catfish I didn't love! We also HAD to order the peach cobbler topped with vanilla ice cream to top off our meal. The restaurant was super clean, well kept up and decorated nicely. They have a neat thing, "The Giving Wall." The restaurant picks out 6 charities to support, customers stick their meal receipts in the box and the charity with the highest dollar amount in the box, gets a 10% donation for the month. What a wonderful gesture on the restaurant's behalf. After a short wait. our entrees were brought to our table and everything looked so delicious. Guess what it was! My wife said the BLT, which was stuffed to the brim with bacon. She said it was one of the best BLT's she's ever had. My catfish/shrimp combo platter was wonderful. The shrimp and were fried to perfection and had a wonderful batter on them. My hushpuppies were the perfect accompaniment to the patter along with the Cole slaw. Both of our French fries were prepared perfectly and not greasy at all. Right when we were finishing our delicious entrees, here come the peach cobbler topped with vanilla ice cream. It had a great crunchy topping to it and the peaches were so tender. What an incredible way to end our meal. Thank you, Campfire Grill, for a wonderful first visit, it won't be our last.

As a dedicated explorer of all things fried fish, I'm always on the hunt for the best spots to satisfy my cravings. Imagine my delight when I stumbled upon Campfire Grill, a Black-owned gem right in my neighborhood of North Richland Hills! It was Fried Fish Friday, and they had a catfish special that was calling my name. Let me tell you, this was some of the BEST catfish I've ever had. Perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside, flaky on the inside, and not a hint of fishy taste. The sides were equally delicious and complemented the fish beautifully. But the real star of the show was the banana pudding. Oh. My. Goodness. It had a cheesecake-like consistency that was rich, creamy, and absolutely heavenly. The atmosphere at Campfire Grill was warm and inviting, and the service was friendly and efficient. I can't wait to go back and explore more of their menu. This place has definitely earned a spot on my regular Fried Fish Friday rotation!

I LOVE this place! Fantastic service and such a great menu of options. Menu is affordable and there are plenty of options. Such a gem of a find off Ruff Snow. Will definitely be back.

We found this place when we were in the area. It is an eclectic mix of Southern food with a Chicago feel. You can find Chicken Fried Steak, an Italian Sausage Sandwich, and Gyro Wrap. It has quite the local following and seems like it would be a great spot to be featured on The Food Channel's Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. We had the Patti Melt, Salad with Gyro Meat, and Pumpkin Cheesecake. It was all tasty. The atmosphere is very casual, the service was prompt but they do have quite a few To Go Orders, and the food was delicious. We will definitely come back again.

My husband, myself, and our three kids enjoy coming here! Food is always warm, fresh, and full of great flavor. I especially love the blackened chicken dish (so juicy!) and my husband is a fan of the fried catfish combo plate. My son loves the burger and fruit and daughter always gets chicken tender and seasoned fries! Delicious! I didn't snap a pic of our meal tonight, but did manage to get one of the dessert! Super yummy. Brownie with vanilla ice cream. Service here is always great and workers are very kind and welcoming. Over all, the restaurant is very family-friendly and very homey feeling. Will definitely be back! Thank you Campfire grill!

Really good Chicken Fried Steak Lunch

This place has been on my list to visit for a long time. So we decided to give it a shot on a Saturday afternoon. Very pleasantly surprised to see how clean and nice it was inside. I was impressed that tables were cleaned and it always gives me comfort when a restaurant takes pride in their dining room. So it's a country kitchen with some souls food mixed in. I didn't realize this but was happy, since I grew up in the Deep South and appreciate good soul food. Loved seeing family working here and their young kids learning a good work ethic. They were all so friendly and helpful. We ordered a chicken dumpling as an appliance then I decided on the chicken fried steak and my wife ordered the fried catfish plate. Let me tell you about that scrumptious chicken and dumplings. Some of the best I remember. I could order a bowl just for my lunch next time. Then I got my chicken fried steak and was very happy with it. Great size, breading and taste. The only thing I didn't like was the gravy. It wasn't the traditional white gravy and detracted slightly from the great taste. It wasn't bad though. My wife loved her catfish. I liked that it wasn't too salty like some places make it. Overall we will come back. Very good food and a good value.

Burger with cheese and jalapenos, and fries
    Jon M.

I really wanted a decent burger, and reviews here were excellent.. I got the burger and added cheese and jalapenos (kinda expensive to cost $1 for a slice of cheese, and $1 for like 6 slices of jalapenos. The burger tasted good, though. My biggest complaint was the fries which were nearly flavors since not enough of that seasoning salt on mine. Why remove a star? The cost of even adding 1 slice of cheese or a couple of jalapenos, is ridiculous. They also couldn't put mustard on the burger and just put a little in a small portion cup Also I ordered the banana pudding (all of this was a to-go order, so can eat in my car while jamming music). For it being a to-go order, they didn't put any napkins in my bag which is usually standard, and didn't even put a spoon in for my pudding (ended up running to QT to get a spoon, since that was near where pulled over to eat). So they will nickel and dime you here and not include stuff usually needed in to-go orders. But burger was good, so kinda on the fence about if I wanna come here again, despite so many good reviews

Comfort food - chicken fried chicken lunch special
    Amy S.

SO good, and so reasonably priced. Attractive, clean and local to boot. What could be better! The chicken fried chicken is tender and flavorful, the green beans perfectly seasoned, and the cilantro lime rice just perfect. I happened to have a two-hour break in my day and I'm so glad I stopped here for lunch!

Great food and great service. If you're looking for home-cooking... this is your stop. In addition, they have a giving wall that gives 10% back to a local organization. Save your receipt and drop it in the box.

    What more can I say?
    Dennis G.

Definitely among the best!!! Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to some Southern comfort food for your soul. The chicken fried chicken was delish, the eggs were cooked to perfection, and the service was friendly and prompt... oh yeah, and the prices were unbelievably reasonable. Thanks ya'll! You guys are my new favorite spot.

Just to the right of the sign were two Level 2 chargers. We each ordered two 2 meat plates, which included two sides. When we got home and opened the to-go boxes, we realized we had WAY over-ordered. We had enough for two meals for each of us! We had chicken and pork ribs, mac & cheese and flat green beans. It was very tasty with a sweet and spicy barbecue sauce. I spoke with the owner and thanked him for supporting EVs, to which he replied, "How could I not? It's what's coming. How could I not get on board?" He mentioned that quite a few of his customers found him on Plugshare.com and stop by regularly for a meal and charge. I had to Google "So mote it be."

What happened today was unacceptable from the moment we walked in. The place was visibly dirty and completely unappetizing. The back area was mostly hidden behind what looked like a shower curtain, which did nothing to inspire confidence. There appeared to be only one man working, and he came out only a few times during the entire 45 minutes we waited. Even more concerning, there was a child who looked to be about eight or nine years old wearing latex gloves and repeatedly coming out to the front, apparently helping with restaurant tasks that no child should be doing. Despite having prepaid through Too Good To Go, no one acknowledged us for nearly 10 minutes. We stood in a hot dining room with almost no air conditioning while the child wandered in and out and the adult remained behind the curtain. More people arrived behind us, also with prepaid orders, until there were about 10 people waiting. We watched three other customers receive their food before us. One was a DoorDash driver, which made sense, and one woman had arrived before us. However, another woman with a very small order was served ahead of us even though she arrived after we did. When the man finally came out, we showed him our Too Good To Go order. He swiped the app, marking our order as picked up, then disappeared behind the curtain again and never returned with our food. After waiting 45 minutes in a sweltering dining room on a nearly 100-degree Texas day, we gave up. We left without the food we had already paid for. At that point, losing the cost of the meal was preferable to staying in that environment any longer. This was one of the worst pickup experiences I have ever had. Between the unsanitary conditions, the lack of staff, the presence of a child apparently performing restaurant tasks, the complete absence of customer service, and the fact that we never even received the order we had already paid for, I can say with complete confidence: We will never return.

When I arrived, there were no cars in the parking lot and it looked closed. I went up to the front door to see if there was a note but all that was posted there were their normal hours. Based on that, they were supposed to be open. Not a good start. I posted about this on Facebook, saying it looked like they were closed for good. A friend of ours replied the next day that she had moved down the street from Juicy's and she saw the restaurant open for business that day. I headed over again and they were open. Soul Food, Comfort Food, Home Cooking, whatever you want to call it, that's what they're serving at Juicy's with a large side of FRIENDLINESS. I grew up in south Texas, so a bowl of pinto beans with a piece of cornbread is a meal I love to this day. However, I was craving chicken, so I ordered the chicken plate (you can specify 4 wings) with mashed potatoes w/brown gravy and pinto beans (of course). Have you noticed that most dining out today is underwhelming? It seems to me the restaurants are using cheaper ingredients. Everything tastes bland. BUT NOT AT JUICY'S! The meal hit the spot for me. The wings are "whole wings," meaning there are no "drums" and "flats." Each wing at Juicy's is BOTH PARTS. It's the whole wing! I was full after just three but Bonnie grabbed the last one to "keep it from going to waste." (I think she was keeping it from going to MY waist...) The beans reminded me of my mom's pinto beans. The brown gravy on the potatoes reminded me of my grandmother's gravy at Thanksgiving. The cornbread was almost like cake. Even the music was great, featuring R&B and blues. We found ourselves humming along to the music as we feasted on the food. We're definitely going back.

The couple inquired about options other than fried and was told that meatloaf was it. One asked if there was pork in the sides. The shrimp was really good and once again I was surprised at how big they were. There was a ton of fries and only ate about half of them, but they were good as well. I was very impressed with the fried oysters. They were big oysters and tasted great. My wife loved her snow crab. It comes with tons of potatoes, corn on the cob and several shrimp and we were stuffed by the time we left. We will definitely come back and try something different on the menu next time
