I have the good Sam's membership and I try to shop here when I have a $10 off coupon so it offsets the price. Like it or not camping world, even with the good Sam membership most things can still be purchased on Amazon for much less (partly because of product pricing and partly because of taxes). However, if I need something sooner than 2-3 days then it is more convenient to stop by and purchase in the store. The best thing about purchasing from camping world is not the retail stuff, it's camper specific parts from the parts department. They have and or can get things that are harder to find online or if you do find them online it's hard to be positive If it is the exact part I need. I have purchased a few clamps and metal brackets from the parts department for a few dollars, but online (Amazon,eBay, etc) it would have been $5-$10. As far as customer service everyone from sales associates to parts department workers have all been very nice and many have gone above and beyond to help me find what I'm looking for. read more

They don't just sell campers. They also have every camping supply known to man. After buying a travel trailer from them, I've been very pleased with all of our follow up service from them. Our representative, Chris, has basically become a friend of the family. Not that we've had a bunch of problems, there just tend to be a lot of questions when you buy your first travel trailer. Their general shopping area is huge and has everything you could ever need when camping and traveling. Generators, toys for the little ones, adapters, etc... They have it all. While it appears to be a little off the beaten path (if you live in Birmingham), it's actually a quick trip down I-65. read more

Terrible service department. Two months with our new fifth wheel to fix new camper minor issues and still only solved two- crappy job on one- and the third is still unresolved. Don't call back to update- wish we had stayed with other dealer now. Finally went and picked up for upcoming trip which means another 120 mile round trip to resolve final issue for us. Purchased travel trailer June 21,2020 Freezer door wasnt sealing leaking water 09-19-20 dropped off at CW calera 09-26-20 1st email stated running diagnostic 10-10-20 2nd email waiting for warranty approval, replace freezer door 10-15-20 3rd email received approval given to parts for order... i expressed my disgust for the time this is taking (we have a trip planned) 10-28-20 4th email parts are in at store, scheduling repair Disgusted at the time this has taken i emailed Marcus cause "If your not happy, im not happy" right?? This got me no where. Marcus contact only put me back in contact with the service manger, who told me to take my grievances up with the warranty department. That it was scheduled for repair but would need to be test before release back to me. 11-6-20 still no word from them, emailed service rep, ser manager, and even marcus again, not one word from any of them 11-16-20 to date still not one email or phone call from anyone at camperworld. My husband and I first visit to this location was July 2020. At that time we did not qualify for financing w/o large dn payment. The salesman never called to follow up to see if we were still in the market or if he could assist in anyway.This put a bad taste in our mouth for Camping World, we were treated like a number. We returned September 2020 w/pre-approval and this time we chose not to use the same salesperson. We decided to take a chance on another salesperson. Well Montez was as excited as we were and he followed up with us the next day to see how we felt about completing the purchase. Long story short the second visit was much better than the first visit. We were so excited because the excitement began at the beginning of our second meeting until we drove off the lot with our 2021 camper. Thank you to Montez, Dorian and Mike for you guys made this experience a positive one. I can not leave out the young lady that checked us out.... She was super, so knowledgeable about what we needed as first time rv owners. I can not remember her name right now but thank you are a superstar! Thank you to the super team that stayed after hours to put our tow bar on the back of our truck. The initial impression of Camping World was quite positive. Gave us water, took us around in a golf cart to show us different campers. We had never used a trailer before, so bought a kz sportsmen. So well made and great size for us since our kids are grown. We decided to buy a used camper & we noticed the awning needed to be replaced. The salesperson, Frank Lozza, told us to just use the extended warranty we were going to purchase. Fast forward, we took the camper to be "looked" at since it was probably going to be replaced under warranty, but they had to see it in person to be sure. Took it in on May 4,2020. Austin looked at it and said it would be replaced under the warranty. Should be no problem. My husband had tried for several times to get a hold of Austin, no call back. Finally, on May 18, Austin calls my husband back and tells him it is NOT covered under the warranty. It would be $2,000 to replace the awning. Said the awning was discontinued 5 years before the camper was even made & warranty doesn't cover the fabric, just mechanical. (That would have been fine, if we were told that originally, we would have negotiated having a new one out on before we bought it. ) I call back, cuz this is unacceptable, we were told by Frank and Austin it would be replaced. Austin informs me that Frank was let go for telling y'all tales. Apparently, you two read the same playbook, cuz you told us it would be replaced under the warranty, as well. I ask to talk to the manager. He gets on the phone. He tells me it's not covered under the warranty. I respond back that two of his representatives told us it would be replaced and Austin is in charge of service department. He says Austin is new. I said I don't want to hear that as an excuse. Obviously, your employees are not being trained properly. Husband is going to pick up camper today and taking it down the road to another camping place to see how much it will be to replace it there. We were thinking about trading in this camper for a new one, but definitely not going to get it at camping world!! I asked for corporate email, so I am going to email them about the Calera location, giving out false information. Here is my experience with Camping World Calera Alabama. First the sale went very smooth (of course it did they were taking our money and selling a unit lol)... After that is where our smooth experience ended. First off our camper 2022 cruisers Rv shadow cruiser 325bhs was delivered with the propane tanks empty, a dead battery, the camper exterior was absolutely filthy, our awning arm was bent, the awning also leaked between the seam where it met the camper. Steve Wright was our salesman and Trey was the sales manager. After getting the run around for 6 weeks.. I finally called corporate and opened a case. Amber was my case manager. She started off well, she sent us a check for 400$ for the propane, battery and to get the camper cleaned. She also got them to pick up our camper and fix the bent awning are FINALLY. I spoke with Nathan the service manager about the awning leak. He assured me it was fixed. When the camper was brought back it still leaked. Nathan told me, it was about to rain so they rushed through it. And he couldn't help that the camper went down the highway at hurricane winds upon it return... REALLY. So I hired a mobile rv service to fix it. He brought me up on his ladder, showed me where to so called fixed it and where he fixed it. Leak solved... Then the text from Trey the sales manager started about 9:30pm -11:30pm on a Saturday night. Explaining how he wanted to make things rite and wanted another chance. First of all he is the most manipulate, ego maniac, blatan lier I have ever meant in my life. In all honesty our conversation didn't end well the following day. So he no longer wanted to speak or work with me. After he promised to make things right. So Steve my salesman took over and wanted to sell us a differ unit as our priority in what we wanted change. I agreed, they were going to get the camper from a different location. At that time I asked exactly 10 times did the camper have the bedroom ac. I was told absolutely yes it did. I expressed It was not pictured in the camper. Guess what it didn't have it lol. Now I'm being told, by my salesman that I have been black listed from camping world Calera because I made to much trouble for them getting corporate involved. Will not work with me, trade in my 2022 camper or sell me anything. They absolutely refuse to answer my calls!!! REALLY. All I wanted was my awning arm fixed and Trey blew me off for six weeks straight. Then my sink faucet sprang a pinhole leak in the faucet head. Nathan said he would put in a warrant claim. Guess what it's been 3 months nothing, absolutely nothing. ALL They have to do is send me a 90$ faucet and I'll install it myself. I mean come on man, how hard it that. Now fast foward, Amber my case worker will not return my calls about the faucet. Pretty strange don't you think??? I gave Camping world Calera every opportunity to make things right. I even wanted to buy another camper off them because they afford the best trade in value. Of course simply because they were in hot water. Even after ALL THAT MESS I would still give them another try to make thing right and sell me a different camper. But they will not talk to me. I'm really hoping Marcus sees this message and realize he's missing out on a sale!!!I could go on for hours about our experience but that's just a REAL quick overview. Went in looking and decided on a travel trailer at camping world. We were quoted extremely high payments on a small travel trailer. At the point that I ask them the term and rate of the payment quoted, they would not tell me. Then ask what payment we wanted. We were quoted over that payment, and then on the same call when we questioned the payment amount, term, and rate. The finance person mysteriously came down on the payment. Decided to go to another RV dealership, and the payments and rate were much lower on a more expensive travel trailer. Beware of the financing at Camping World! read more

I recently inquired about a use Montana fifth wheel on their website. I immediately started getting phone calls wanting me to make an appointment to look at camper. I tried to explain to them I was 3 hours away and needed some answers about price before I came and looked at it.The camper was 3 years old and the wanted almost as much for it as a new one. Finally a salesman started calling. After repeated phone calls with him I told him I would not want to give over 45,000 for camper (asking price 54,999) and he said that was within reason and wanted to know if I had a trade. Told him what I had and known issues with it and he got back and said 15,500 for my trade so I took a day off work and made the trip. when I started dealing with them it was 12.500 for my trade and 54,499 for their camper. After going back and forth several times it was 15,000 for trade and 53,000 for their camper plus Alabama sales tax and Mississippi sales tax plus title app and another fee for the getting camper ready. They will tell you whatever to get you to come in but then won't honor what they say. I took off work and wasted a day. If they could not have taken 45,000 for camper or something close they should have told me that before I drove down there and I would not be writing this review. Tried 2 different times to talk to the manager over the store but he is always out. I even came up 5000 on my offer because I really liked the camper but they wouldn't budge under the 53,000. The salesman was very inconsiderate about wasting my time because I told him several times it was a 3 hour drive one way for me and my wife who is disabled and riding that long hurts her. Best service I ever experienced! Rolled in traveling through Birmingham. Bought a new lock for my motorhome, but had trouble installing it. I asked for help, and even though it was pouring rain no one hesitated to help installing it. It was no easy task though - and the parts-guy (Lamar) got help from a technician (Scott) who got more expert help from another technician (I think his name was Lance). So I had three guys - in the rain - toiling over my new door lock. And they asked for nothing for their labor! Bravo! Excellent costumer service I thought was long gone in this modern world. We bought a 27' 2017 Coleman 2405 Lite in June of 2016. We took it out Nov 16. During that trip I sat at the table and went to scoot over to get up and the edge of the back of the seat popped loose as the screws pulled loose which there wasn't much wood to hold the screw about 1/4". Next time we took the camper out more things started to come loose like the corner moldings. The frame around the window at the table as again there wasn't much wood holding the screw. The inside doors came off the track. The AC was throwing water through the filter and sounded like ice was hitting a fan. While cooking the exhaust fan over the stove just quit as you try to cook with gas with no exhaust to pull the steam and gas outside and the light burnt out for the short time it was on. Then a Tee Bar broke that supplied water to the outside kitchen as it was a slow leak and didn't notice it till later and damage was done. The outside kitchen was ruined by the water damage. We got the camper in for the repairs. Now when bought the camper we got the extended warranty for $1500 since it was a new unit as I think it's $2500 if a used unit. Camping World called me and said the extended warranty wouldn't cover this or that where Camping World did fix the minor things like moldings etc. To make it short the extended warranty would not fix the damage that their faulty part caused. Camping World told me it would cost $2000 to repair and put it back the way it was. The extended warranty would replace the part $45 but wouldn't fix the damage it caused. We went around and around with Camping World and the extended warranty people. Service mgr of Camping World suggested to maybe just put some shelves where the sink was damaged. We would use that as a storage compartment but leave the refrigerator. This would be the most economically and feasible to fix the problem. I said to keep the repair at $300 or less and that they would reseal the top since our camper got lost in the shuffle and misunderstanding. When we went to pick it up and looked at what they did to the compartment was ok but was extremely disgusted with their craftsmanship. It looks like just slapped it together to get it out of the way. A first yr shop student could have done better. I know the person that fix the compartment wouldn't except it if it was their own. The saying is when you work on something work on it as it was yours. When the repair man was fixing the compartment he screwed the screws too deep and didn't bother to fill-in the holes or cover the blemishes. Over all the idea was ok but the job is something to be desired. If I wasn't so far away from home and Camping World 100mi I would have left it. We plan on selling the camper. With all that is said Coleman needs to stick to making camping stoves and tents and leave the campers to someone else as it literally fell apart. I would not recommend buying a Coleman Trailer. As far as the extended warranty it's up to the consumer but I wouldn't wasted the money and put that money in the bank as the saying goes you find out what warranty you have when you need to used it. You know what extended warranty is like on cars. They pay $60 for the part but costs you $6-700 to put it on. As the final word is it cost me $314 to salvage what was going to cost $2000 as I filed a complaint with the BBB against Assurant that carries the extended warranty for Camping World as won't reimburse me for the damage the part caused but the complaint is there for other consumers don't have to go through what I did and with Camping World as in my opinion look for a different RV dealer and read reviews. read more

Can't trust them and will never be back! As a new camper owner of a vintage trailer, I took my Airstream to have work done to make it road worthy. I ended up with tires that go on a small lightweight car (versus service tires on a 31' RV). They left on the rotted tire stems (not replaced), and lug nuts were missing. Thankfully, another individual noticed it for this newbie. After several calls and documented emails, still no resolution. Why sell me tires that are twice the cost and not what I need? Instead of a 4 ply tire, I needed 10 ply. This story is not over. I will get justice. Using a 3rd party for tire work is not my problem. They should reconsider who they use. They are still responsible. read more

Went in to see about trading in our old camper for a new one. Everything seemed to be going well until we wanted to see what the interest rate would be. Was told someone would contact me the next business day with the info and see if I wanted to proceed. Nobody contacted me at all. Went round and round and was assured that someone would contact me but never did. I constantly had to call or text and once again i would be told let me check on it and get back to you. Had my 500.00 deposit on a trailer that ended up being sold because of a miscommunication and said another was coming in in a few days. Waited a week and nothing. Went back to store and looked at 2 other campers and was assured they would contact me that day or the next for sure. Still noting other than a sorry we missed you email. My husband and I went to the Camping World in Camera where we were greeted by Savannah. When I introduced myself SWEET TEA, she asked if that was really my name. I told her yes that is my name. She stood there and looking at me like I was crazy. I again told her my name was Sweet Tea; her response was to look at my husband who had to tell her again that was my name. We sit down and she asked my husband his and introduced herself shaking his hand. She never shook my hand only looked at me crazy questioning my name. After we gave her our last name she asked for an email. I told her I didn't want to give that information at this time. (I don't want my email blown up with everything from them.) She then looked at me and told me that isn't my real name because I don't want to give her my email. I was insulted. This young lady called me a liar multiple times because she couldn't accept my name. I have never had a problem with this name when buying a house, cars, motorcycles, going through college or job interviews or at work; however, I go to Camping World and get questioned multiple times about my name and even told that isn't my name. I took my adventurer in on May 18 for a check-up and let them know that I needed it back before September 1. When I took it in I wanted the inspection, oil change in both engine and generator, the mattress replaced, gas shocks for all compartments and bed, the washer/dryer replaced and air conditioning unit fixed along with anything that needed repair done. On October 1 drove to the business to get a status and found that the repairs were supposed to have been completed on September 25. On October 4 I picked up the coach and found that the steps were no longer working, when ask why the response was "that happens sometimes. This is partly my fault for going a second time in 5 years with the same result. Avoid this place like the plague, they are inept, deceptive, unprofessional and can ruin vacations. 5 months should have enough time to rebuild the entire coach. read more

My husband and I called camping world because our sway bar snapped as we were driving. The person over the phone assured us they had one and to drive the hour in. We get there and are greeted by three people who tried to tell us they we needed the parts department and didn't even try to help other than make a call to tell us the manager of parts left. I could feel by blood start to boil as I had called in and asked and we had driven an hour. As they were about to turn us away when Chandler (I think his name was) called from across the store that the piece was right over there not in the special parts department. He took time with my husband and I to make sure it was the right thing and he checked us out. We also ended up getting the good Sam membership from him! We were travelling in our motorhome when we realized that our house batteries were not working. We couldn't even use the water pump to flush the toilet or wash our hands. We found this Camping World on our GPS, and by the time we got there it was raining like there was no tomorrow. I went inside and asked at the service desk if someone could take a look at it. I explained the problem and told them I thought it was the disconnect switch which had recently been replaced. They were extremely busy, but after about 20 minutes the service manager (I forget his name, sorry) took me down to our motorhome in a golf cart. The rain was just now subsiding. He took apart the disconnect switch and saw that it was improperly wired. After going back to the shop he came back, fixed it immediately, and then said there was no charge! I told him I didn't mind paying. I was just thankful it was fixed. If you've ever had a problem on the road you know what I mean. He said no...no charge. I went back in the store to get something else we needed and got hold of the general manager. I explained how grateful I was for their prompt attention and that the free service wasn't necessary, but he too wouldn't have it any other way. Well, what do you say to something like this? I have to rate this Camping World at the top because they really helped in time of need. I just wish I could remember the names of the two gentlemen that were so kind, but then again, they know who they are. read more

This is the worst service department I have ever dealt with. I have my 5th wheel there for a roof inspection and the love seat handle broke. It has been there for a week, and no one has called like they said they would to update us. We call them today to find out the only thing they THINK has been done is the roof inspection. They are not sure if it has been completed because they have now lost all the paper work. They said they may put in for a new love seat under warranty, but they cannot do that until the warranty lady comes back from vacation. Shouldn't there be more than one person that can compete a warranty repair order? They are telling us it will be completed soon, and they will get back with us. I am not holding my breath. If my camper was not under warranty with this company, I would never be back to this place. Once they sell you the camper, they could care less. I will never buy from them again! read more

Irresponsible management and dishonest service personnel!!! They mislabeled the keys for my RV with someone else's name and never could tell me exactly what they did on my roof repair. They told me it was ready to come pick up (when it really wasn't) because they had my name on someone else's keys. MOST IMPORTANTLY, they damaged my motorhome while it was there for service AND DENIED IT! They refused to accept responsibility for SIGNIFICANTLY bending the steel bar for the mud flaps and cracking the fiberglass on the corner of the rear bumper area. They refused to repair the damage, as well. I will NEVER SPEND ANOTHER DIME AT CAMPING WORLD, especially this location. read more

We just picked up or new camper last week from Camping World Calera Al. Before buying this camper we had been to 5 total RV dealers in the area. This will be my 5th camper I have bought over the years. When we arrived a young girl named Ashley Whitfield came and introduced herself to my wife and I. My first thought was she is not going to know a lot about campers ! Was I ever wrong ! She knew her product very well. We looked at several models and told her what we were looking for. She said that she would find what we wanted and call me back. She followed up with everything she said she would do. She also sent me a video of the very camper we were looking for. My wife and I went up the following day and decided to buy the camper. We are now proud owners of a Dutchman 34 ft with all the bells and whistles ! Got a great deal on the price as well ! I had a trailer so I told him I already had the equalizer bars, sway bars, etc. paid for the trailer and the salesman could not find our trailer for about a half hour. we told them we would pick it up next weekend as they wanted to get it ready. went up there to pick it up, no sway bars attached to the trailer tongue or the attachments so I could hook up the equalizer bars. not happy. mechanic got a set of attachment for the equalizer bars. long trip on the interstate without sway bars. knowing what i know now I just should have just got my money back. took it camping down at the beach for fourth of july. the outside cable connection cable was not working to the entertainment center and the stabilizer stands did not work. took it back to camping world in calera. I finally got in touch with them by mid-august and they told me my trailer was ready. the supervisor Mason had supposedly tried to contact me. we went camping in oct and on 19 oct I took the trailer back as the cable still did not work and the stablizers did not work. Also i had tried to call Mason as their maintenance had helped themselves to my food and had cooked in on my stove. the dishes were not clean and they had put trash in the trash can in the bathroom and had used the bathroom. of course i could not reach Mason as he was conviently not in, or was with a customer, or would not return my voice mails. at one point i got in touch with their operator and asked for Mason's supervisor and was told they were not avaiable. I had them order a canopy to cover the push out. for the next couple of months I called them and they told Wildwood was doing their annual accounting and I would have to wait. Feb, they finally told me that my trailer was ready and that my warranty had just ran out. so I went back up there to pick up my trailer, they told me everything was fixed. as I walked up to the trailer I noticed that the canopy was not installed on my trailer that I had purchase thru them on the 19th of Oct. that is the day my credit card was billed. they told me that they would get it installed right away. I told them I would be back on Saturday to pick it up. I called them on Friday to see if they installed it, but they told me the canopy had not come in yet. Really, I my credit card was charged in Oct. then what did get charged with my credit card? of course I could not get in touch with Mason who was MIA again, conviently. I got called in the middle of the next week to say it was ready. I went to pick it up again in the beginning of March. we were going to take it to Orlando but I had to make hotel reservations instead. just got back from a camping trip and of course the cable connection is still not working. I will be contacting Wildwood to see if they can get their trailer fixed. read more

We responded to an add for a last years model of a travel trailer. The add was in RV trader and on Camping Worlds website. We inquired about the trailer through the internet and were very interested. We actually made a deal over the phone. When we received the customer quote via e-mail there were added fees for P.D.I $995.00, Delivery/setup fee $1,899.00,Doc fees $499.99 to make the price that sounded so good and was advertised to be a total of $3,393.00 added on top of their price. This actually made the price of the 2016 model more than the 2017 model. When I inquired about the price discrepancy to our sales person she responding by saying "all dealers do this, we just don't hide ours" We of course did not follow through with the deal. When calling another dealer that carried the same travel that we were interested in we inquired about another add on their website with a MSRP of a certain amount crossed out and to call them to receive the best price. I called and asked if this was the out the door price and they said absolutely, it even included the service charge for prep and documents. read more
