I took my Rv in for maintenance and repairs. Camping World (located just west of Kansas City - the same place where i purchased the camper just a few months earlier). When I asked about the warranty coverage, the lady at Camping World informed me that warranty would not cover the repairs and I would have to pay approximately $1,200 for the repairs. Months later, I was on the ohone with Good Sam warranty myself and learned that no claim had been filed (no phone calll history on my camper). And secondly, not all the repairs were made to my camper. Need I say more ? One of, if not the most horrible business transaction experiences I have ever made. Stay away from this place!! read more

The only reason this review is getting 2 stars instead of 1 is because of Ezra and I truly hope someone in management actually reads this. Ezra went above and beyond helping us when we grabbed the wrong electrical adapters. He took the time to explain everything, helped us get the right parts, and made sure we were comfortable hooking up our new camper to the truck for the first time. You can tell he genuinely cares about customers, which is more than I can say for most of the people we dealt with. He's an absolute rockstar and the only reason I'd ever consider coming back. Now for the part management needs to hear: the rest of our experience was unacceptable. The business or sales manager (not sure which title he hides behind) talked to my wife and me like we were stupid.. completely condescending and rude. I don't appreciate that one bit. Then during our walk-around, mind you this is my first camper and I know a little about them so at this point, I'm completely gullible. I specifically asked the salesman while referencing the thermostat, "I know we can't try everything out because it's winterized, but does it all work?" He looked right at me and said, "Yeah yeah yeah, the heater and A/C works great." That was a flat-out lie. When we got the camper home, I tried the heater and it didn't do a thing. After diagnosing the problem myself, I found broken parts that I had to order and replace just to make it function. The fact that he looked me in the eye and said it worked when it clearly didn't is completely dishonest. Camping World, if anyone higher up sees this, please understand Ezra deserves major recognition. He's the kind of employee that saves your reputation. But your sales and management team? They need serious retraining in honesty and customer respect. People spend their hard-earned money on these purchases, and being lied to right before signing papers is disgusting. read more

On our way from Indy to Denver to Moab with our 5th wheel toy hauler. The plastic underbelly decided to rip off on the highway. Pulled over and got it all ripped off and cleaned up. Being a Sunday, I figured we'd be SOL. Called this camping world 20 miles away and they happen to be open. Service isn't open today but they have courtesy 50 amp hookups and were able to stay the night in hopes that service will be able to squeeze us in tomorrow morning. They could not have been more helpful or accommodating. Ezra was awesome and even gave our dogs treats. This location is lucky to have someone like Ezra, it's clear he loves his job and appreciates all his customers. read more

I have not been to Camping World in KC, KS. Just trying see if there was CW in KC, KS. I need some repairs on my RV trailer. I had a Electric problem and went to a Camping World in Florida. It cost me $300+ to fix. I discovered it 300+ miles west of the Lake City, Florida CW. The repairs had not been resolved. So I found this CW business, that is about 60 miles away. I'll have to call and speak the GM what the problems are with the trailer/car. My problems are the wiring from the car to trailer. I have no turn signals/ brake lights/no power for the trailer's electric brakes. Also it did charge the trailer batteries. Which didn't the slide to be used. To me the repairs should be FREE !! Camping World at the Legends mall in Kansas City is where I went to get supplies and help for some parts that I needed for my coach. Ezra in Sales and David in parts, were two people that were working for me on trying to help me locate the parts that I needed . At first I got everything I needed but then there was one part for my Ferrion stove top that I needed" Rubber Gromments" that seem to be the hardest part in the world to get even through Lippert and Ferrion. Ezra and David help me out 100% . After going on 6 months of trying to get these particular parts it became the most annoying discomfort possible as to two simple little parts that I couldn't get for some reason and then the parts we did get were too big and didn't work seem like no one could figure it out . Ezra hunted and hunted and kept up with me and made phone calls to me letting me know he was still trying to receive and Order the new parts . He was able to finally find them and David assisted in helping him to get them and they made sure that I was finally taken care of after 6 months of total chaos . He never gave up on me that is one dedicated employee as well as David being dedicated to making sure that he helped Ezra as well . I just want to thank Camping World and thank you for continuing to help me regardless of how long it was I finally got what I needed and it helped me a lot some of the greatest employees that stick with people like that or people that are valuable and you should never let them go I'm currently recommend people go to this Camping World Kansas City and see them they will help you and they won't stop until they can get with they need for you . I believe they deserve good lunch or a badge of honor for this long dedication , I was very uncomfortable and angry but Ezra never gave up . I bought a Coleman trailer yesterday. They did the prep work and declared it was road ready. The salesperson also said it was. It wasn't. The dinette table had not been stowed properly and the water heater cover was removed so they were bouncing around on the trip home. After I got it home I discovered they had also removed the wheel from the trailer tongue. Now they're ignoring my emails and phone calls. read more

Oh, 3 months or so we were in to order a couple of replacement parts for our camper. Had to keep calling about the one part and finally it came in, but had to go to the store to pick it up and they finally found it. I doubt anyone would have called us. 2nd part still on order, but in the meantime we've called competitor over the phone, they got us the part, mailed to us in two days. Still haven't heard from you guys, probably never will. Customer service just plain stinks. read more

We purchased a 2021 Flagstaff pop-up camper in August of 2021 from Camping World in Grain Valley and camped in it that September. One week into camping, a sulfur smell was being emitted from the batteries and we were unable to get the awning up properly after spending an hour on the phone with the technician. It was in the shop for repair by December and stayed there for a month. We were told that the batteries were operating fine and that the awning was broken...that they could sell us a new one for $1,200. Took the batteries in to a local battery place and was told they needed to be replaced. We jerry-rigged the awning so that it was sort of serviceable but it involved duct tape and stakes in places stakes shouldn't go. This past summer we were getting ready to take out and noticed that half of the switch that raises it up was on the ground. This time we took it to Camping World at the Legends. They had it from June-September but said they'd repaired it. As we were raising it up, we noticed that the frame/winch plate had bent. So we took it back in and they replaced the frame/winch plate and charged our insurance another $1,637. We decided to ask about warranty on the work since this was a re-repair and they claimed that there was a 1 year warranty on all the work. I asked for a written warranty. They have none. They wrote out a warranty that looked like it was written by a first-grader. THEY HAVE NO WRITTEN WARRANTY ON THE WORK THEY DO! When asked why the re-repair wasn't covered under the warranty since there's supposed to be a year on the work, they said because we had insurance so they COULD! Oh...and we came to find out that the awning worked just fine if you have instructions...that there is a sequence that has to be followed. When we bought this lemon we were promised an owner's manual that we never got. Our son-in-law found the instructions online. This was after 3 years of gerry-rigging with duct tape and stakes. read more

They had a camper listed at just under $12k. Contacted sales and set an appointment to view the camper which was 4 days away. They then made a deal with another buyer, without notifying me as they just wanted to get me on the lot to try and sell me something else. The deal with the other buyer fell through, so we are rescheduled for the same time and day. The day before the scheduled visit, I am notified that the camper hasn't been through inspection/service yet and might not be available to view. We tentatively keep the appointment hoping they can get it through. Find out the morning of, that it wont be through inspection and available to view until a week later. I offer to view the camper anyways so we know if we want it or not, knowing that they still want to do their thing. I also ask about just buying it as is and not dealing with the inspection. Find out that it isn't possible because a manager has already approved the work to be done. Which they can't, or won't, tell me what work actually needs to be done. Not sure how they know what needs to be done since it hasn't been through inspection. And now the price has jumped to $16,995. I have, in writing, the original price. Sales associate and general manager will not honor that price and blame it on the system. They should change the name from camping world to clown world because they obviously don't know what they're doing. Also, the csteam@campingworld.com email address does not work. this place is eager to sell you a camper but the follow through after that is nonexistant. we bought a camper, among many misteps in preparing the camper for us to pickup, parts were missing inside of this new camper. UV protectant? i doubt it exists and they even put it on because they really didnt seem to care to clean it, nor could show me it. so dont bother with that. the parts missing, since i paid for my new camper, an essential part was the table. we need to use that area for a guest to sleep there. 2 months and every time i call they dont have it or cant find the order. i explained that i would need it in july but that doesnt seen to be a concern. 2 months in peak season and you cant priority order it to fix your mistake? maybe if you borrow parts, the priority is to replace them immediately so the next dupe doesnt have this issue. yes, sadly i am the dupe this time. this is why i am warning others. be weary. they will try to appease you with reassuring voice and yet get nowhere. my summer camping plans are ruined as of now. i will update if this changes. read more

I bought a camper on 8-24-22. I still do not have tags or all of the keys yet. It is 10-26-22 today. They lost some paperwork and made me drive back. First I was sold the wrong camper with a smaller AC that could not cool it from 88 outside below 80 inside and I specifically was told it was 15K BTU. It was 11K. I had not taken it off of the lot when we caught it and I said of course I need the right camper with the features I bought and their ridiculous solution was for me to buy it anyway, pay the tags, and taxes, put the title in my name, let them get paid, and trade it back in some weeks later at obviously a loss and let them make 2 sales for the mistake instead of not turning in the paperwork. Of course, I refused and they finally after a very firm protest agreed to cancel the purchase and sale me another one. They did not care about me or fixing their mistake, just getting paid and making 2 sales instead of one out of their mistake and at my expense. This was very unethical and I will never forget it. It gets worse. I still do not have the keys to the back door. I have asked them several times to order a new one. I had to go get it out of storage and take it in and they did not fix it, put a new lock on the back from some after-market lock off of the shelf. They refused to pull a lock and key off of another camper from the same maker off of an unsold camper to take care of the one that is paid for that needs it and then just replace it when the lock comes in. 3 managers refused to do that. Then the ordered lock was put on hold and I AGAIN asked for a manager to approve taking one off of another unsold camper. Again, no. I called the sales manager Glen who made a call to the Service Manager and promised me a call back the same day. It has been 6 days. I called a few hours ago and could not get a manager, my original service tech, and left another unanswered message. It is worse. I paid over $1,400 for a braking system installed on my truck that I found out is about the most expensive in town. They did not calibrate it as they were expected to. I had to get it calibrated later. I paid $1000 for a weight distribution hitch that they did not calibrate and set to level with my truck. I had to get that done at another location. I asked about mounting a TV and they send a "knowledgeable service tech" to answer my questions when I asked where to mount a TV since the walls are super thin and they have special mounting places, he told me to put a 2-inch bolt into an unsupported place that would have poked a hole right through the wall that is NOT EVEN 2 inches thick! Idiots. Incompetent. They do not care. Save yourself. Do not buy a camper at either the Grain Valley or Legends Locations. read more
