I recently purchased a new camper from here. I got it home set it up to make certain everything worked for our next camping trip. The air conditioner did not work, nor did the refrigerator. Let's not forget nothing would work off the battery. Nedless to say my husband took it back to get worked on the next day. Nether the less. Purchased it on 6/29 it is now 7/3 and have not heard from them. Wentzville Camping World salesman left us sitting for hours while passing us multiple times never even acknowledging us during the purchase process. Very disappointing service dept. Service writer not knowledgable at all of work that was done and what details were done in paid for services. My rv was in for several months for warranty work and paid for slide maintenance. Was told that parts were changed and repaired that were not. I had to point out that what I was being told was incorrect. Eventually got correct work done after waiting another month but did not get my slides adjusted as I was told would happen. Different service writer told me that adjustment is not done during maintenance but I could make another appt for that. Communication is slow to respond and when asking questions, no reaponse was even given. I would strongly suggest somewhere else for your main requirements. When picking up the trailer, the porter needed to reinstall my Anderson coupling on the king pin that they had removed. He did not even have the right tools to do this and nothing was torqued as required. read more

We had to have some body work performed on our Class A Winnebago. My insurance company recommended Camping World of Mesa as they are a "preferred" body shop. I am very pleased to report that the people at this facility were exceptional and worked around my schedule. The work itself was done quite well and being a former automobile professional in both sales and service I can tell you that I am fussy about body work. Keep in mind that RV paint jobs are typically not of the same caliber as say a Mercedes Benz. Anyway, the job was done on time and I now have a lifetime warranty on the work performed. Pretty cool. I would go here again. Also, for you people giving low marks for parts being hard to get, wake up, all industries are having a difficult time. I've never bought a Rv before so I've been shopping around and I landed at ( Gander Rv ) which is really Camping World and I have to say it was a bad experience. They knew their job and their products I will say that . But then when we sat down to go over numbers they pretty much forced me to give them a 5 star rating which I retracted afterwards. I didn't want to do it but they kept saying hey our manger is watching us and he won't be happy if I don't do the review right then and give us a 5 star. So I reluctantly did it only because I felt like if I didn't do it then I wouldn't get the Rv I wanted. So the non-approval from the bank came back and I wasn't approved ( which I don't blame the company for) But what really did it for me was they couldn't take 2 minutes to call me and explain why I wasn't approved , they just sent a text saying ( have tried everything sorry ). I don't like giving bad reviews but they were just very unprofessional and unethical. We were buying this Rv for our Veteran Non profit and they showed us no respect at all..! read more

If I could give less stars, I would. RUN, DONT WALK TO ANY OTHER RV SERVICE CENTER. It all started when they wouldn't answer the phone (not even for the national call center). They would transfer to a phone that only had a VM but wouldn't return calls. Finally, after trying for 2 days we got an appointment. Kept trying CW because they are a dealer for our brand of RV. Once we got the RV in we had no communication with them for 4 weeks. Nobody called and told us anything. Let me just make clear our RV was in for minor service (oil change, hydrolic leak, and broken lock). Finally, after 6 weeks I had to use the RV. I told them at week 5 Id be in to pick it up in a week. Then the day before I picked it up I told them I'd be in the next day. I show up and surprise surprise it's not ready. I brought my trailer here because I tired of failures at other dealers around me. It has now been there twice for various warranty repairs. Each time Erich took it in and from start to end remained a true professional no matter how frustrated I was. With every RV I have bought it always takes forever for parts from the manufacturer and this is not the fault of CW where my frustration is directed. When you spend this much money on something it should be taken care of ASAP. To that end I would give Crossroads an "F". I have also requested various things from them in regards to quotes and explanations on how things work and each time they took the time to help me out. Horrible customer service. Took almost 9 months to get my door lock for my class C replaced under the terms of the original purchase contract. Multiple phone calls, emails, and appointments where I dropped the coach off, only to be told 2 days later that the part was not available...only once I threatened to go to their CEO directly and call 12 News on your side did I get my lock, which I installed myself because I really truly believe if I left it to them, I'd have it done sometime around the year 2157. The best advice I got from Camping World of Mesa was from the ONE employee I found there with a sense of integrity and a backbone..."Go to (another service provider I won't name so Yelp doesn't yank my review) up the street to get your Jeep set up to tow. I was lured there after talking with a sales person about a specific 5th wheel. after my nearly 3 hour drive, they tell me the 5th wheel I'm interested in is actually damaged. They never told me that before hand, even though they had it on the lot for 30 days. They even wanted me to commit to the purchase before seeing it. Thankfully I'm not an idiot. In fact, I was told by a sales manager that they intentionally leave that very important info off the website so they can get us to come in. The 5th wheel is worth half its price yet they still plan on selling it at retail when it's damaged!! Id estimate several thousand in damages plus however long it takes to get repaired. They are just waiting for the right sucker to come along. Very poor sales and business ethics! Shouldn't be allowed nor tolerated by camping world. If they bought the rig damaged, they need to eat the cost, not pawn it off to a customer! So sad!! Terrible experience and would never recommend them if they were the last business on earth. Be very careful buying ANY camper. They lose 50% of its value the first year you own it. Manufacturers warranties are for one year. If you buy an extended warranty, it only covers mechanical and electrical. I strongly urge anyone considering buying ANY camper, do your homework. Check reviews etc...regarding the type of camper you may want. I was told "there are no industry standards" as to how campers are built and materials used. It's up to the manufacturer standards of quality. If you are seriously considering buying one, rent a couple of them first. You just might save yourself a lot of money. We just purchased a Thor RV this week, and the RV had a couple things wrong with it. I have to say, the sales staff was terrific and helpful, and right now they are short staffed with RV's flying off the lot. Jamie and Jay were top-notch. The Thor we picked out had a couple of minor things wrong with it, and they said they'd be fixed, and by and large the problems were fixed. And this is how they fixed a broken drawer. Not the right screw, not even the right hole placement the first time, yet somehow this is what they decided was a good repair on a brand new RV. We have a saying at our place: "quality people do quality work". The corollary to that is, "crap people do crap work". I was looking forward to having our RV serviced at Camping World for the next few years, however this is such a poor example of work it's almost alarming that this passed muster. If this is how well they fix something minor such as a door on a brand new motorhome, how could I trust them to fix something major or install a critical upgrade? read more

I highly recommend not buying a RV at Camping World. I have my new Keystone passport trailer in for service. I dropped it off August 14 and 44 days later it's finally ready for me to pick up. I was told that I was going to get a brand new floor put in because of a bubble issue( CW fixed a previous bubble) under the linoleum and then a few days later I was told I would not get a new floor after I had gone down,picked out materials from a local flooring company. They do not believe in service after the sale, just look at their ratings. Since my trailer has been sitting for such a long time in a dirt lot, I asked my Service Advisor Robert Dealy, if he could get it washed before I pick it up tomorrow and his comment was unfortunately no. This may be a good place to buy big ticket items, I don't know. When it comes to the smalls the cost is outrageous! Just an example. A 14inch roof vent w/fan by Fan Tastic model 1250 on Amazon is 156.00. I attempted to buy local and at the counter (because it's hard to find a price on anything) told me 250.00 for the exact model. I've had the pleasure of dealing with Camping World/Gander RV in Mesa, AZ. I spoke with Rick Williams, the service department supervisor about several problems I was having on a recent installation of a automatic tow vehicle brake system. Rick took charge w/o hesitation and put a plan together. He sent me over to his service representative Jessica, who put together the service order, going over every detail. She also made sure all the parts necessary to complete the job were in there current inventory. Jessica introduced me to Josh (service tech), who was assigned the job of installing the new parts and/or equipment. Josh went over the entire job with me, so there would not be any confusion or misunderstandings. Josh answered all my questions and gave me some pro & cons on some of the decisions I was asked to make. Jessica was able to scheduled an appointment as early as the very next day. I made that appointment, thinking I would have to leave my coach and return at the end of the day to pick it up. I was surprised to learn that Josh had everything set up and ready to get started w/o delay. I was informed the job would only take a few hours. I decided to walk to the nearest intersection and have lunch @ Mc Donald's. It was a very hot and humid day and the A/C burger and cold refreshments sounded good and worth the short walk. After lunch and catching up on some calls & admin work, I decided to return to Gander RV. I had purchased some parts from Camping World previous to this appointment. These parts were not need or necessary. Jessica walked me over to the parts department and was able get me a full refund. The refund was deducted from the bill total. The Coach and tow vehicle were completed and was rolling up as we returned to the service department. Josh went over the operation of the new equipment and made sure I was satisfied and content with the job. I was totally satisfied, like five stars satisfied! I have never been to any service department that took such good care of me and my vehicle. This is why I writing this lengthy ***** review. The folks at Grander are a real team who know how to work together and coordinate a job right. We came to test drive an RV. Staff was generally very relaxed when it comes to masks. Those that were wearing masks were for the most part not wear them over their noses, which completely misses the point. And they are absolutely not enforcing mask wearing amongst the customers. CW manages to continually screw up simple RV service, my issue is my Onan QD Generator. CW was paid by my insurance to replace my generator with the same model. After getting my coach back from CW, I went to have the generator tuned up and oil changed per the manufacturer. At that point is when we found (my mechanic, not CW) that CW (or whoever they sub-contracted) cut out my original generator mounting supports and halfway tried to make their own. Problem was their new supports completely blocked access to my generator access door for the filters. Called Progressive, re-opened my original claim, and CW told me to bring it back, they would fix it. I was there 3 hours when they told me it was done. They moved the mount bolts so that the access door would open verses putting the correct mounting brackets back in. I get home to find I now have a fuel leak on my generator. When they re-positioned the generator they had the brass inlet fitting to the fuel pump pressed against their home made frame and it cracked my fuel pump. 2 strikes, they suck! Calling Progressive again to re-open the original claim and request a different company do the repairs correctly! Run from CW for any repairs, I would recommend RV Renovators! read more

It has been back in the service center at Campers World for the past two months for warranty work and "waiting on parts". We received a call to pick it up that "it is all ready" and the warranty work was never done and the trailer is actually in worse shape than when we left it for repairs. Never, never, never buy from Campers World. Their service center is awful and will give you the run around for months to avoid fixing warranty work!!!!! read more

I can't even give this company 1 star! I am a single woman, first time motorhome buyer, and to say this has been a nightmare is an understatement! It took me 2 years of research and planning to decide which motorhome I wanted. I decided I wanted a Forest River, Mercedes 24'. The sales manager found the exact unit I wanted in Colorado. I purchased and paid for it at the Mesa Camping World, and because it was my 60th birthday present, to me from me, I flew myself and 2 girlfriends to pick it up and celebrate with a vacation. We took a taxi from the airport to the Camping World in the Denver area. We were there waiting in the waiting room for so long that we actually ordered pizza delivered there. By the time I was finally called back to see my new home, it was getting close to closing. The gal who delivered it to us was anxious to get home to her daughter, she did not have much time to show it to us, but in that short period of time, we noticed things like a bubbled headliner, bubbled veneer on the cabinets, small holes in the flooring, and doors that didn't close properly. Figuring it to be brand new, we went ahead and took it, those things should be under warranty, right? Well, the first night we stayed at a friend's house in Denver, and could not get the hot water heater to work. Cold showers. So getting on to our trip the next day. As we are driving down the highway, more than once the door flies open, figuring that we just didn't close it hard enough, it did it again. We had to lock it to keep it from flying open, then it was very difficult to get it open and the wind blew loudly through it from day one. As we are down the road, a "new" motorhome mind you, my girlfriend goes into the bathroom and yells that the toilet was backing up! On receiving the unit I noticed that the toilet seat was dirty underneath. We had barely used it! Taking red Solo cups, we dipped urine and feces out of the toilet! It was disgusting! So on to find a dump, I pay to dump my "brand new home" and guess what? I pull the black water tank valve, and it is totally NOT connected! No way to dump it! I call Camping World in Mesa, they tell me to drive to a small town in the Rockies and they will send a technician. We spend the night in a town we had no plans on staying in, in hopes of getting help. No hot water, full of poop, and we went out to eat, came back to sleep, turn on the furnace, it was cold, and about an hour after we fall asleep, we are awakened by the smoke detector screaming at us! I grabbed my Yorkie, gave her to my friends and as they got out of the smoke, it was filled with it, coughing, I was trying to get the furnace shut down. The technician came the next day, had to cut my pipes apart, put in an aftermarket pipe, in my "new" Mercedes, he couldn't figure out how to repair the hot water, so we used cold water, he said that they should have burned the oil off in the prep, but instead they delivered it to us as if it had been lived in for some time. We started noticing things like the table had wear spots where you could tell that people had eaten repeatedly there. Again, call the manager, he tells us to go to a Walmart, leave everything open, turn on the furnace, go shop for a couple of hours, and let it burn off. We did that, hoping that no one would break in, came back out about 2 hours later, and it had completely shut down, no luck. The manager even told me to open where the hot water heater was a tap on it with a hammer, $100,000 motorhome! We figured our trip was obviously ruined, so we decided to head home. Now I and my friends are very experienced drivers, I have hauled loads of horses and a living quarters trailer up and down the Salt River Canyon many times. And I have had a Mercedes, and very familiar with the transmission. As we headed down Wolf Creek Pass, the unit would not gear down no matter how hard I, or my other 2 friends tried, and thank goodness I am experienced, I would have totally lost my brakes if I wasn't! I did find a pull off I was able to steer into, opened the doors and smelled rubber very badly. There was no phone service there, so I white knuckled it the rest of the way down. This thing was a nightmare! We got home, it totally ruined our trip, and I took it in. It as a VERY long time in service, I have hardly ever had time to use it. read more

We have a warranty, but can't get in for service. There is no drop off after 4 weekdays. When it comes to weekends, forget it. They said service was only open on Saturday to help sales. I asked what about us who bought a camper? The service girl said we have to take off work. I emailed the guy who says "I'm not happy, till you are happy". Forget getting help there too! Dont know why I come here either over priced or bad service. Was looking for a carry bag for a rv rug. Found it on their site. Called the store and was told they had 10 for the same price of 11.99. Drove 30 min to the store . Parts guy said 10 then asked a girl to show me where they were (you would think by the rv rugs) and she stated "oh does it still say we have some, cause we dont it's a computer error" . No apologies that I drove out . So first now I'll pay 8.95 shipping on am 11.99 item but your store will never stock them because no one is correcting your "computer issue" since your inventory look like it's there and not moving. Do not purchase a trailer or RV at Camping World if you are inexperienced. Purchased my first RV used from La Mesa RV. Sale went smooth and service was top notch. Made the mistake of trading in the trailer at camping world and purchasing a branch new trailer from CW. CW totally took advantage of my lack of knowledge on the actual trade-in value of my trailer. Low-balled me the first time around and attempted to roll up the remaining loan balances to the new trailer loan. I was ready to walk, but my wife loved the layout of the new trailer, so 'negotiated' for CW to payoff the balance. They were able to flip the trailer the next day. I never felt so taken advantage of. As for the new trailer. I won't fault CW for the low quality. That is my fault for not doing my homework and buying a Keystone. But I can't believe their service station. They don't return calls and when you do show up, they ask if you have an appointment, otherwise they can't help you. I don't expect immediate turn around, and if I have damage from a trip, I need to take it in and have it looked at. Again, if you are first time buyer, haven't done your research or just looking for a company that will give you a fair offer, don't look at Camping World. read more

This is an update from a previous post I made about a month ago when I had my 5 year old RV inspected by Camping World in Mesa because I had an offer from Good Sam to purchase it. They said the roof would need to be replaced at the cost of $10,000. I decided to get 2 other inspections and both said there was nothing wrong with the roof and it was typical of a 5 year motorhome with this type of fiberglass roof. I returned to Camping World, and after some tense moments with one of their representatives, they had two other technicians come out and agreed that the roof was in good condition and no repairs were needed. I am happy this was resolved and they realized their error. The reason I am giving 3 stars is because I was looking for them to buy my RV. Since it took a month to resolve this issue, they cut $4000 off the original offer since they said the market is slowing down quite a bit. I might consider them in the future to do business with, but they will probably not be my first choice and I will be very alert to anything I am not comfortable with. read more
