I came here a few days ago looking for vertical ascend gear out of caves. I was greeted by Jason and he was really helpful and knowledgeable. I needed very specific gear, and Jason was very patient with me and showed me where I could find sit harnesses, chest harness, chest ascender, hand ascende, foot loops, etc. I didn't find exactly what I needed but got a good idea on the things I need to build a personalized vertical gear set for myself. And of course, while I was looking for cave gear, I wandered around looking at all the fabulous gear they have, I was like a kid in a candy store. I could spend hours in here. I started looking at hydration packs as I need to replace mine and found a very nice military edition and will come back to purchase this soon. I also saw plenty of Petzl bags, and very tempted to purchase another. They also carry so much Petzl gear, you will be in heaven here. Also, some great hiking shoes and some sleek, but we'll performing water shoes. I then wandered into kayaks and Jason even showed me the Padillac they have! I've gotten into paddleboarding and kayaking for the summer and now want one of each! This place rents them and sells them. I then went to check out some wetsuit gear, and they have a really nice selection of wetsuits, gloves, booties, etc. I really love this place and it is definitely gonna bankrupt me, but so worth it. High quality gear, more extensive selection than REI and the staff here know what they are talking about. If you need something specialized, this is the place for you. I'll be back here soon!

They carry major brand names such as Yeti, Hydroflask, Nike, Puma, etc. I was pleasantly surprised to also find ratchet tie downs for pick up trucks in the kayak/SUP section. They had a great sale going on before the 4th. I was able to snag my life vest for just $20! I won't be using it too much, but you gotta be safe no matter what! I was browsing around and trying on different brands when an employee asked if I needed any help. I politely declined. I did drop a star due to the fact that when I checked out, there was only one register open. There were about 3 of us behind the person who was paying. Because it was extremely hot outside, I went inside to cool off while hubby handled things with the employee. After he unloaded everything at the back of the store, the employee came over and said "thanks for your trouble" and handed me a $20 bill. I have consigned clothing, designer handbags, and sold books, sporting goods and household items to different businesses so I completely understand that businesses need to make a profit. I also know used items are worth much less than retail, but $20 for that entire load felt incredibly insulting and completely unreasonable given the amount and condition of the gear. It just did not sit right with me. I went back inside and asked for our things back. We loaded everything back into the truck and brought it back home. I decided I would much rather donate it all to a nonprofit where I know the items will actually help someone which will make me feel so good rather than accept $20 for everything. I would have actually preferred getting no offer at all. I'm sure this works for some people but based on my personal experience, cannot recommend selling here expecting a remotely fair offer.

They do have Grab Bag bins around the store with gear that is 40-50% off the MSRP (which means you know it's high already), so that can help. As a swim coach for a high school team, they did a great job with our order, and communication about our orders was clear. It is located in the "far" east valley, but easily accessible.
