Used Open Table to make reservations, though it didn't seem too busy on Wednesday night (in late January which is high season here). Very impressed with the service throughout the dining experience. Someone greeted and checked our reservation. Upon seating it didn't take long for the waiter to give us the rundown. Later there was someone who offered an additional shrimp soup app (though it wasn't immediately clear that this was an added dish, not complimentary). Didn't matter because it was delicious and a good value. Ordered the Prepared Octopus in a non-spicy way (ie no tiki). That was delicious though given we also ordered a platter of shrimp, I could have been fine with the 200g octopus instead of 400g octopus (whole). Therefore we passed on the salads. Felt bad about that though i didn't understand when they said it came with.

WOW WOW WOWZA! This place is legit. El baño es mejor! My sister is 6'1 and their pour is strong enough to get even goddesses like her sauced. Absolutely incredible food, I recommend the Vaquero/Cowboy taco and the Tuna Tostada with ginger sauce.

On the recommendations of friends from the resort, we ventured across the street to Campomar. I like seafood and the wifey doesn't, but they had a good selection for both of our tastes. You can tell from the time we walked into the restaurant that this was a very nice place to eat. Friendly service and attention to detail from start to finish. Amin was our waiter and he was on point...providing information and recommendations from beverages, to food to dessert. I ordered the Coconut Shrimp with rice and salad (with almonds, apples, dates, strawberries and mixed greens) while Shelly had a Flank Steak, fries, and a tomato/lettuce salad. All in all, first class all the way for an amazingly great price. One last thing, there isn't a paper menu, so bring your phone so that you can scan the code to see the offerings.

I wanted to find a nice place to celebrate my sister's birthday. Campomar surpassed our expectations. I was able to make a same day reservation for 5. We were seated promptly and our waiter was very friendly. He told us about the restaurant and what style of cooking they did. We got oysters and the callo de hacha to start and they were delicious. We were with a hangry toddler so we ordered a pizza for him and they got it to him so fast. He enjoyed it. The birthday girl ordered the lobster and it was cooked to perfection. My octopus tostada...chef's kiss For dessert they waiter gave my sister a chocolate brownie with ice cream and the table split a HUGE slice of a mouth watering tres leches. The drinks were done just right. We will definitely be back as this place has a lively ambiance, fantastic service and most of all delicious food.

Zarandeado Sea Bass. Feeds 2 people and out of this world delicious !

Be ready to drop a few hundreds $$$ for an out of this world high end seafood. They start you off with Marlin Escabeche which was Marlin, tomatoes, and onions mixed together. It reminded me of tuna tartar but cooked. So good I wanted more! Maine Lobster - I dropped $250ish for this lobster and it was worth every penny. I'm always on the hunt for amazing lobster and wowww this was top notch. So much meat! They provide you with weight and prices before you decide on anything. Zarandeado- Sea bass. This meal feeds 2 people. It came with amazing sides and probable the best fish i had out in Puerto Vallarta. We stopped by on a Friday night with no reservation and were seated immediately. Our waitress was chatty, funny and recommended great dishes. I don't travel on a budget. I work and stress hard in the US so when I travel i want top notch HIGH QUALITY FOOD and Campomar was everything i wanted and needed.

AMAZING RESTAURANT! This is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to, hands down! From the service to the food to their awesome huge bar, this place is legit! It was on a Wednesday around 8 pm. The restaurant was not crowded at all, plenty of seating, no wait time. We got sat down, no paper menus, all online. The waiter was very attentive, helpful, and friendly. He made great recommendations for us. We went there mainly because we wanted sea food! Even though our daughter did get a pepperoni pizza lol. My wife and I ordered sopa de mariscos (Sea soup) and wow! They weren't shy when adding all the meats in there. It was all very tasty, very fresh, so full of flavor, so delicious. Even the pizza was really good. The drink, we all got natural juices, mine was Maracuya and pineapple, don't remember my wife's drink. They were superb. Tasty fresh and full of fruit! Highly recommended! As you can see on the pictures, we paid $77 for three people. Huge plates, full of various sea foods, a full pizza, three drinks, and a heavenly bread lol. Definitely worth it!

As part of a birthday/boys weekend, we popped into Campomar for an "upscale" seafood meal. After arriving, we were seated almost immediately and we were seated amongst the lush greenery sprouting from the ceiling. I ordered the seafood soup (shrimp, scallop, octopus pieces) and the Caesar Salad with shrimp on long leaves. The salad was served on "long leaves" in a very interesting presentation. My friends at the table ordered the oysters and the seafood "snack" which is the size of 3-4 snacks which can be shared amongst people at the table. All of these things on the menu were VERY reasonably priced, including the platter of oysters that my friend ordered. I know that Campomar exists in multiple places around the country and I would definitely visit others in different locations. Summation: I was not wowed by the food, but it is a solid location that I would visit again and try something different on the menu. **NOTE** Our server was not super proficient in communicating with us - knowing at least a little Spanish or be able to clearly point out what you needed from the menu is great - there was a QR code on the table which you could scan. Great food, service and atmosphere. A nice change from hotel food and the staff was very attentive to our needs. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

The restaurant was clean and beautiful, definitely upscale. The service was amazing all of the staff was extremely attentive and informative. The food was delicious and everything we had was delicious. Lots of dishes have the final prep at the table which makes for a great show. Must try when in PV

Entrance to the restaurant, so beautiful, why the tvs?

Campomar, it was an experience, but not one I would want to experience again. The ambiance is similar to dining in Vegas, it's super loud, over stimulating, somewhat of a show, and for some reason there are tv screens everywhere. The tv screens everywhere was super weird, especially since they were playing music videos with super loud music, it was hard to even hear the couple we came with, all while paying top dollar. The restaurant itself is beautiful, so is the decor, the screens take a lot of that charm away, the noise is annoying and distracting. We were next visited by a man pushing a sort of a shrimp cart, I think we all assumed it would be some sort of small chilled ceviche like cup, and he asked if we would each like to order one, thankfully we only got one per couple. They were cups of very strong and hot shrimp broth with chunks of shrimp and veggies inside. I love soup but this was so intensely shrimpy it was overwhelming, we didn't finish them. The server came with complimentary green salsa (very fresh and tasty), some marlin escebeche (okay), and the same tostadas you'd get at any mariscos restaurant. They also brought a very tiny little warm bread bundle, that tasted like kings Hawaiian rolls, those were the best part. We all ordered drinks, and they were all the same, pretty basic margaritas, and they were all good. No paper menus at all, all on your phone, which we were all super confused with it being so long. Also there is no menu online so you have to show up and try to figure it out then, with a huge menu. The servers kind of helped out, but at one point I just used a photo from Yelp to show what we wanted to order. So we shared one large order of coconut shrimp, it was just okay, sauces were not good. And one large grilled sea bass. The grilled sea bass was really tasty and we all enjoyed it a lot. We ordered a tres leche cake, it was tasty but on the dry side. All in all we had a great time because we were with our friends. But the bill was pretty expensive, and there are much better restaurants with way better food all around in PV. Lots of room for improvement here, remove the loud music, huge tvs, and give folks a nice menu to choose from!

However, as me and my friends (it was 4 of us) were leaving the restaurant, our waiter chased us down claiming we did not tip enough. Here's a note from my friend detailing more of what happened: "It was 150 pesos which is a little more than 10% of the total. In Mexico, 10% is completely customary, especially for tourist. Locals will give even less and typically leave only about 50 pesos. I don't know if he was expecting for us to give him more just because we're used to giving 15 or even 20% at a time but I always do at least 10. If it's one of the really nice restaurants where they take care of absolutely everything then I do get more than that but this was just a normal place And I did fold the bills because I clipped it into the checkbook, so there is a chance he thought it was just 50. But to flip out and say it's not enough that he deserves more or just to take it away is crazy in my opinion." We may return, but this really turned a perfect visit into a not so great one in the end. The 3/5 is for food and service, would've been 5/5 had we not been stopped as we were leaving for not "tipping enough".

We came here as a party of 4 for my friend's 40th birthday around 6:30 and caught the most amazing sunset. They had a professional photographer take a complimentary photo for us. The service was impeccable, so welcoming and sweet! All of our dishes were so good. We ordered: octopus, seafood croquette, egg potato, potatoes brava, asparagus, white sangria. The octopus was so tender (maybe the best octopus dish that I've had) and the seafood croquette just melts in your mouth. There was not a dish that I did not like. For dessert we got the orange flan which was so yummy and delightful. and the chocolate lava cake. The sunset view was gorgeous! And the price was very reasonable - we got drinks, dinner and dessert, and the total came out to be $44 per person. I hope to be back!
