My second visit to this restaurant in my two week stay in PV and food to my liking was outstanding Fresh seafood and the Zanrandeado style of cooking was a real treat. It reminded me of my first visit to PV back in 1962 when whole huchango or red snapper grilled over an open fire and the cost was all of 10 pesos The interior of the restaurant was most inviting and super clean Staff was amazing almost running and super efficient and never on their phones. That said our waiter on our visit went missing after I/3 of the meal had passed and when ready to leave, we asked what happened to our waiter and all that was offered was: an emergency. And our second visit we were assigned the same waiter, now wearing a mask and he seemed a bit spaced. He was also wearing a heavy mask and a bit hard to understand. The other wait staff was fantastic and made almost a production of boxing our leftovers for takeaway So far all wonderful and here comes a little rant which might be on the long side That is the noise level of the music and also the content Maybe the heavy electronic techno beat might be great for a young affluent Northern European crowd in Ibiza but not here at this restaurant or in PV. It made it almost impossible to talk and that along with some inappropriate videos made for an unpleasant dining experience We were staying across the street at the Grand Venetian and talking to some of the guests there while the loved the food they declined to eat there due to the music level as being so upsetting If music desired there are so many other routes to go On a personal level I would enjoy rock like AC/DC or Guns and Roses or dipping back to Buddy Holly and the Everly Brothers And areas of Mexican music would be unlimited I love Mana, first heard by me back in the 1970's or 1980's in PV as a bar band either as Mana or Sombrero Verde Luis Miguel would be another option. On tour in USA now and sellout crowds I also like Norteno and conjuto music more as to the folk aspect and always the classic. Mariachi and corridos So really many other options as to music and please not the heavy electronic techno beat It thus amazes me that the management team that has put together this restaurant chain and such a tight ship and so well run would destroy their image of such high level noise experience which shoots their marketing plans of fostering a pleasant atmosphere and positive dining to not wanting to go back even though the food is exceptional Reading the comments of customers here I think also reinforces this view I hope the management team takes my comments to heart and examines their in house music policy. This restaurant recommended by the security guard of Icon Vallarta where we stayed. It was about 10 minute walk next to La Vaca Argentina. We didn't have a reservation but we got seated right away by the maitre d. Our waiter brought us water and complimentary appetizers And put bibs on our chest. Told us that we can check the menu online. Daughter has fried fish taco, I had a mahi-mahi fillet, hubby ordered cowboy taco, marlin taco and shrimp empanada. Daughter's fish taco tasted fresh. Cowboy taco was scrumptious - was the best kind of shrimp taco you'll get I think in PV. My mahi-mahi fillet came with a side of salad, rice, steamed veggies and caramelized banana. My fish was really filling me up! It was sure as tasty! Then they brought as a couple rolls of bread it was the fresh warm softest and buttery bread ever my daughter said! And we had a corn bread dessert with caramelized topping with fruits and vanilla ice cream. Thought our bill will be hefty because the ambience is really nice and fancy! This is a fancy restaurant! The price was reasonable that cost us less than what we spent in Malecon restaurants. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who visit PV! read more

The seafood presentation when you walk in is impressive, several species of lobster, crab, mussels, oysters and fish... All look particularly fresh. Don't over do the amuse bouche that are offered... all special to wet your appetite.. The breads are dangerous! The spicy tostadas are crazily good!!! Be adventurous and check out the Blue tacos soft shell crab, the Shrimp cocktail ( not as expected) more like a gazpacho with shrimp and avocado. Everything looked super. Campomar is my new favorite seafood restaurant in Puerto Vallarta. Fresh local seafood full of flavor, excellent drinks, and service that is the best I have ever had in Puerto Vallarta. The vibe is not pretentious but classy, nautical themed. Manager stopped by twice to make sure we enjoyed our birthday dinner. Carlos Cortez was our waiter, he was amazingly patient (our Spanish is bad, and this is a local's authentic place) but Carlos Cortez gave us recommendations and we were not disappointed. Fish and shrimp was cooked PERFECTLY and bursting with flavor. We will be back! Highly recommend. Ask for Carlos Cortez! read more

Went there to celebrate my friend's birthday and Compomar did not disappoint! The staff was very attentive and even gave a birthday dessert to the bday girl. Adan provided tier top service and assisted us with any questions that we had. The food portions are large and you will need to take leftovers home. I had the mahi mahi tuna with a side of oysters wile my friend had the coconut shrimp. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. We will come back here again soon! read more

Seafood here is excellent. Service is fast and food only issue we had was table is kind of small for 6. Wait staff clear up very efficiently though. The servings are pretty big as well. Although this is a chain restaurant, we were impressed by the quality of the food. Be careful with the many options you are offered, because it may turn out to be too much food. Portions are quite large and are served with salad (good salad). Drinks are very large as well. Service was very nice. This place is AMAZING!!! Came here with a party of 25 for my daughters birthday and this place took care of us from start to finish. We had great service and had like 3-4 servers. First they brought the bar to us and the drinks were delicious. The food was so good we had king crab and ribeye and it was to die for. They serve this soft Hawaiian bread that just melts in your mouth. They even set up the after party for us and ushered us personally next door to the club. Shout out to Eduardo, Franco and Fernando!! I would have given it a 5 if it wasn't because of one unfortunate situation. My experience with the food and service was excellent. However, management needs to know that, while the restaurant wanted to give to their customers a great experience by having this person give coconuts as you waited for your table to be ready. At some point, a member of the restaurant came out to also give customers that were waiting for their table a complementary beer. I personally, do not like beer but I still thought that was a nice touch from the restaurant to do while you waited. So far, the whole experience was starting off great, if it wasn't because, when I went back to the guy with my coconut to have him cut it open for me, while I waited for it, the guy asked me to ask for a beer and then give it to him. I was caught off guard, I smiled at him but said no. He then insisted so, at that point, I kept waiting for my coconut but stayed serious to avoid the topic. The guy with the bucket full of more beer came back out and gave out more, the guy at the coconut stand then told the guy that I wanted a beer, I was asked if I wanted a beer and I told the member of the restaurant that I did not and he kept giving them out. I finally got my coconut so I could go inside as my table had been ready for a few minutes at that point, and when the coconut guy gave me my coconut he, ironically, told me kind of upset, thank you! Since this was my first impression of the place, it left me with a very sour taste of mouth. Obviously there're some people that can't take no for an answer. I also think that, if he was hired by the restaurant to work giving out coconuts to the customers that were waiting, you don't drink while you work. Aside from that, I've got to say that the food was amazing, the service from whole team inside the restaurant was great and their pricing is just right. It was well worth it!! read more

Overwhelming! As soon as we were seated at a table the wait staff started bringing loads of starters to the table. The wait staff barely spoke English so we were unable to verify if we were going to be charged for the starters that were being placed on the table. They immediately put bibs on us, which was weird. The waiter, rather than bringing us a menu to read, kept bringing over items from the seafood counter and wanting us to order the expensive king crab and maine lobster. Finally, he could tell I was getting pissed and I just wanted a menu to read from. We selected a couple items from the menu and the portions were huge and more than what two people can eat. The quality of the food wasn't bad. The wait staff were constantly at your table removing items and/or just staring at you while you were trying to visit and enjoy a meal. There are way to many wait staff buzzing around the restaurant which makes the atmosphere very hectic, loud and not relaxing at all. No time to sit and relax after the meal because they watch you and see that you are done eating so they immediately come to your table and start clearing it to get it ready for the next customer.
