Campos Landscaping did a fantastic job in our backyard, transforming it from essentially a large block of bare dirt to a luxury resort feel with a combined fire table and water fall. Jose Campos designed a backyard scape that was exactly what we wanted, complete with the water and fire feature, a new pave stone patio, palm trees and succulent plants, raised vegetable beds, a full drip irrigation for the plants and separate watering for the beds, and a drain system to drain rain water to the front of the house. He also added lighting that really makes all the work spring to life at night! He also included at no extra charge a redo of my front yard parking strip, taking out the grass and putting in landscape cloth and Decomposed Granite, plus irrigation for a few desert plants. He also installed some horizontal board fencing in an existing patio area to provide texture for the block walls. Jose came promptly to every appointment at the outset, and once the project started he was there every day both doing work and supervising his crew, but always asking us how it was proceeding and did we have any questions or need anything addressed. He took care of everything we asked for. The quality of his plants and trees is at the top of the list. He used 2 1/2 gal size plants for all background shrubs, and the palms ranged from 15 gal to 40 gal plants in size. I was very pleased with his selection of these high-value plants. The bedding plants were in flats, but each plant equated to a six inch pot and we got a ton of them in the yard. The water feature is awesome, and the fire table is just what we envisioned serving both as a focal point in the landscape as well as a place to eat and gather. The table includes a glass surround wind screen, and Jose included high end polished fire glass, both black and red, that really accents the fire. (The black glass actually looks like polished obsidian, and the red glass glows like hot coals!) Jose said at the beginning it would take about 3 1/2 weeks to complete, and it turned out to be 4 weeks, with one holiday in the middle (Memorial Weekend). We are so very pleased with what he accomplished, and already have spent many hours out in the yard both morning and night enjoying the view and the sound of the water fall. I have used their service for the past 12 months. I couldn't be more pleased. They monitor the irrigation, trim dead/yellow leaves, plant annual flowers, fertilize, and leave my home clean of all the week's debris. My previous service was a "mow and blow" operation that could seem to leave my property quickly enough. I find Jose especially competent and reliable. He knows plants and soil conditions. I have had there service perform extra work (new automatic sprinkler valves, replace older plants) each was well done. read more

Jose at Campos Landscaping did a terrific job with my backyard. These guys are very dependable and trustworthy. I got estimate from 4 different landscape company and Jose gave me the best estimate. They are very easy to get a hold of and was there for any questions I might have before the project started. I spent over 10K for my backyard beautification and it turn out awesome. The detail was amazing and he and his crew was very dedicated in customer satisfaction. There was a slight crack in the grout line 10 months after the project was completed and Jose came over with his crew fix it at no additional charge. I would definitely recommend these people. He did not show for the second appointment and this time did not even call to explain or reschedule. It looks like he is too busy to take on more work. Used this service less than two years ago. Although Jose was very nice, I discovered too late, that work was sub-par: plumbing leaked, drip irrigation hose was punctured, and charged for work not completed. Called several times but, never got a return call. I gave up. Suffice to say I would not use again. read more

We moved to Long Beach a few months ago and were looking for a great company to provide both landscaping and monthly gardening services. We reached out to a few different companies and pricing across the board was pretty competitive. We spoke to Jose at Campos and were extremely impressed with his knowledge and his customer service. His quote for some landscaping work was actually higher than other quotes we had received but given his expertise and his knowledge we were very comfortable paying that. Jose and his team truly made our vision come to life in our small but now beautiful backyard. We were looking to create a space that was peaceful and calm with a cottage garden feel to it and Campos Landscaping helps us achieve that. Got an email back saying they do not service Cerritos although the city is listed on their website and they advertise servicing Los Angeles and Orange County. Emailed asking why would they advertise servicing these counties if that really is not the case. Got a response saying it was the web designer's fault for putting that info. :-/ read more

Soooo my previous review got deleted--weird! So I'll recap: we got our backyard (at our apartment) done by Jose at Campos Landscaping and it looks awesome! Jose is super knowledgeable about plants, soil--basically everything horticulture related. I took his advice on what to plant (and not to plant--as my experiments have not worked ;) The crew was professional and affordable, we even got rocks to fill in empty areas to make everything low maintenance. The best part was that they got everything done so quickly--couldn't be happier! read more

Campos Landscaping recently did a complete landscape overhaul for me. Jose was very professional throughout the entire project. We even faced the challenges of 2 extreme, at least for So Cal. storms. This project needed everything including hardscape and Jose was able to incorporate all of the bricks I had salvaged from the property. He created 4 beautiful patios and walkways with the bricks as well and was able to give them a modern look to work with the new look of the house. There are many reasons 5 stares is deserved but the outstanding one is his quick response and manner that he addresses any concerns or issues that arise. He started on time and worked steadily during constant wet weather. He completed the job a week late but besides the bad weather there were several changes I requested. When we saw there were a couple of issues with drainage he addressed them. Not only would I recommend Campos Landscaping but I will be using them again this month for another project. read more

When I met with Jose, I had high hopes for our working relationship. Before long, however, it became clear that regular maintenance is not the company's strong point. We have a large yard. The crew habitually spent between 15-20 minutes on a job that takes a hour to do properly. When I called them on it, they lied and said they were here longer (I literally would sit upstairs with a stop watch and time them). Bushes were not trimmed, citrus was allowed to develop a fungus that nearly killed all of it and they did not clean up under growth or leaves...they would blow it into a corner and leave it quite frequently. When I asked that they spend more time on the yard because we were not getting the benefit of the bargain we entered into, I was told they would, but they didn't (and no discount offered for the shoddy work from before). It sounds like they do a great job at doing actual contracting and our actual landscape contractor said that it appeared they knew what they were doing. I just don't think they want to devote the time necessary to properly maintain yards and that's a shame. read more
