The restaurant is very small, which makes total sense why it's so busy come summer time. I recommend coming in the off season for an easier chance getting a table and enjoying the experience. I don't quite count but I would say there were about 8 tables inside for dining. Sam was our server and he was an absolute joy, he has a great personality and was very present in conversation at each table he served. All of us enjoyed our meals, the food is very good and flavorful. I cannot recommend the garlic mashed potatoes enough!!! These were my favorite item I had, and I've been talking about them since my visit! A mashed potato is my least favorite potato dish, and these were stellar. I also had the chicken club sandwich and it was good, came with lots of avocado on it. My husband went gourmet and had the duck dish and he really enjoyed it as well, said it was very tasty. My sister ordered the ravioli, and raved as well. Each of us finished all of our plates clean. We'd like to come in the future for a special date night, so if you're in the mountains and looking for somewhere special to celebrate something check out the Steam Donkey!

Alicias Sugar Shack is AMAZING!! IF you are on your way…read moreup or down the hill stop in and get your self a little treat, TRUST me, you will be thanking me, well hopefully.. lol.. I have tried a few things on there menu, all look so good tho. I really like the breakfast burrito, with bacon. IT WAS SOOO GOOD! It hast to be one of my Fav breakfast Burrito since last time I can remember. The proportions were all perfect, egg, cheese, bacon, and maybe a little more spice if you are into that, I like it either way... I might add avocado if they could, sure small fee but thats a given and have you seen the prices of food these days.. lol Service , Hands down all the girls I talked to while we got breakfast, were super friendly, busy but were nice when i asked for a few other things, and then coming to get my order... ** This Business is more of point of sale or window order I guess? , and pick up, not waited on. And nothing wrong with that, Just saw one negitive Review out of sooo many. So take it as you will, they clean off things when they get around to it, Its a Pastry shop, tucked away in Tuolumne County. Up past the turn off to the Black Oak Casino , in the mountains, open up most seasons if not all just changed hours...** Ambiance, well. Its a little wooden shack , wood work is beautiful inside. I think it has 2 or 3 tables inside, and a bunch outside . No dogs / pets inside but I saw a dog or two in the patio area outside... And if any of the reviews on Yelp have helped, tell them Yelp sent you, I am sure they will appreciate it..

The morning offerings of muffins, croissants, scones, and cinnamon rolls has failed me. I will say the sandwiches are decent, but nothing to write home to. The smoothies used to epic, but they now fall flat. I'm think they are not using all the fruit as the old owners did. As for the staff....a little rude and it seemed like no one wanted to wipe the tables down. It's a cute place, but if I had a choice I would skip it and seek life elsewhere for some morning substance.

Creekside Cafe - I enjoyed my $8 slice of pizza, and our daughter ate more than half of her $12 loaded nachos and drank all of her $5 can of root beer.

Ordering food…read morecan be a little confusing, as there are multiple lines (fryer, grill, burgers and sandwiches, soups) and if it is busy and you want something from the fryer and grill, you just get in one line and tell the staff member that you want additional items. The large dining area was well lit and clean. Indoor and outdoor seating was plentiful and offered a nice place to relax or take a break. I can see this being full on weekends and holidays. They also have a bar with seating, and cafe with ready made salads, yogurt, fruit, snacks, and coffee or tea made to order. They have breakfast items in the am such as burritos and oatmeal but we opted to have lunch instead. Items ordered: Philly cheesesteak- large sandwich with plenty of meat, bell peppers, onions, and cheese on a toasted bun. Chicken tenders with fries (or tator tots)- 3 strips of chicken with crispy fries. Beef brisket chili (you can select toppings- cheese, onions, jalapeños)- okay taste wise but a tad too salty for my taste Pepperoni pizza - decent sized slice but the crust is too thick for my liking (this is self serve) Loaded mac n cheese (loaded means you select two items (items- bacon, broccoli, pulled pork, onion strings, chili)- this item was fine Overall, food was better than other ski resorts and I liked the options they had.

My family ordered a cheese burger, cheese nachos and Mac & cheese! I could not stop eating the Mac & cheese! The macaroni is a bit overcooked but it tasted very good with the cheese and bacon! It was a huge portion as well. Nacho was normal and my son liked the cheese burger and said it was good. The place was full but line wasn't long and we could get an empty table easily. And the cafeteria was spacious and we enjoyed dining inside. Also we had an episode at the end of the day which my son lost his phone! We tracked it and it was at the cafeteria, so we went and thankfully someone turned it in to the bar at the cafe and we got it back safely!!
