Wow! This place is so amazing for families! It's even amazing not for families just to have a place to come and relax and feel like you're at home. When you walk in there are two areas for children on the right is for younger children and the one on the left is for 2 & up. The owner was so nice. He was setting up for movie night. We found some friends that we had made at the park so that was fun. My daughter loved everything about it. There was an obstacle course. There was all these different games to play that were human size. There were various places to sit and eat inside and outside. The decor was so cute. It was like a time warp Christmas/summer/fall/spring. I mean it's perfect for anyone who likes unique things and places. Everyone there was so nice and attentive. My server in the cashier Jordan was so sweet. Everyone seemed very happy there. The sourdough pizza is to die for it's hot and fresh. I haven't tried the barbecue, but I will be back to try the barbecue. The mac & cheese was yummy. And they have many different types of drinks that you can choose from adult drinks to just regular soft drinks. They also sell ice cream, which is really cool with toppings. Let's not forget all the cool Sasquatch decor, and theme! It's so beautiful because the trees are everywhere and you can smell the pine. So many good memories to make here at this establishment. My family and I were in town over the weekend visiting friends and the kids decided they needed ice cream after 2 hours of hard work bowling. Twain Harte Creamery is located in downtown Twain Harte across from The Rock. Parking is usually street unless you get lucky and are able to park in front of a business. The inside is small, but homey. It could also use a deep clean, but the really fun is outside though. They have a nice patio area with a play area and jump house for the kids. You must buy something at the Creamery in order to partake in the fun though. We got in line and it seemed to more a bit slow -- we finally got to the register and ordered one Horchata Milkshake. Once we paid, the young kid at the register said it would be a little while before our order came out. As expected, it did take a while for our Milkshake to come and it was not worth the wait. Overall, I know I am a city girl and used to the more fast paced life so I will give them a little grace, plus their staff were friendly and doing their best. Rating is 3.5 stars! The owner was very accommodating and was kind to our family. The big screen tv was super cool. There was a lot of organized chaos out front for kids, which was inviting. We were excited to try all the different items - pizza, BBQ pork sandwich, and tri-tip sandwich. We asked for the BBQ sandwiches to have the sauce on the side, but we got sauce on the meat. The BBQ was good, but I spent a OK or good amount of time wiping off sauce. The sourdough pizza was different than I expected. I love making sourdough and love eating it, but I found their sourdough crust to be a little off. I loved the cheese bread, but my kids wouldn't eat it due to the little green Italian spice. First time visiting Twain Harte. WHAT A CUTE TOWN! Stopped by this cute establishment for a late lunch. They make sourdough pizza. We've never had sourdough pizza and it didn't disappoint. (Homemade dough) As the owner insisted this type of pizza won't make you feel heavy like your normal pizza dough--she was right. (Concur with another reviewer that it was a tad bit too much cheese for our liking--so we couldn't eat as many slices as we wanted to. ) The bottom had a firm crust but the center didn't "hold shape". We ordered a small half Hawaiian/ half pepperoni. (They only have small our Large pies.) The small was more than enough for my husband and I. (See pic) We also added a garden salad. (This was ok. Nothing special. ) Owners were super friendly and helpful. Really took time to chat to us and make our visit memorable. She also showed us pics of her 3 dogs and they are so cute! It's very family friendly with lots of things for the kids to do like the bounce house and obstacle course that are included with dinner. Absolutely delicious ice cream. Loved every lick of it. We always enjoy it; many amazing flavors. We came there this past Friday night for their free movie at 8pm. So amazing sitting in the tree grove, eating and watching. We ate the sourdough pizza and buffalo chicken salad. He is so friendly, and very knowledgeable of the products they serve. I ordered a an iced lavender matcha latte, which was delicious. It came with light ice which I appreciated so much, because so often iced drinks are mostly ice. This place is the best for kids! They have a few different sitting areas with tons of kids activities. Really wanted to like this place... would give the service 5 stars and the wonderful ambiance for kids and families the same. But sadly the food just didn't live up to the expectations set by the other reviews. We drove out of our way after a long day on the slopes, so it was just sad that it didn't satisfy the hungry bellies as I'd hoped. Ordered a pizza and half a rack of ribs with chilli and salad. The pizza could have been soooo much better if it didn't have soooooo much cheese + had it been cooled off a bit for the dough to firm up. Sadly it was served like one gloopy, oil soaked mess that was very difficult to handle. I tried to pick off as much as we could eat. The toppings were good (kids loved the sausage) and the crust hinted at a delicious dough (had it baked enough). Overall though disappointing :( Ribs were okay. Salad and chilli were good. I really want this place to continue getting a ton of business as you can tell how much heart and soul has gone into making it a homey place for visitors. But I also want to make sure folks get a balanced view of the food. So definitely try it but have realistic expectations. read more

Having read so many great things about the pizza here we decided to give ourselves a rare treat. Really was looking forward to a proper sourdough pizza. Unfortunately it fell very short of expectations. Way too much sauce and cheese - it just turned into a globby mess. The first slice was unmanageable. Everything just slid off the dough. I saw many photos that had a fair amount of toppings ours did not. It was very spartan. I'm hoping the left overs firm up once it cools in the fridge because eating a in unmanageable slice off a single paper plate was not great or even worth the 45$ for a pizza and 2 beers. The staff and grounds saved this review from being worse. The staff was very nice and helpful. The grounds are very friendly and inviting but have far too many "no dogs allowed" signs. Come on they are our fur babies and go where we go. There was a great smell coming from the outside smokers but we did not try any product. So in summation (bad) the pizza was mediocre at best. To many no dog allowed signs. Kinda expensive (Good) friendliness of staff and overall appeal to families with kids. Varied unique meal offerings. Great place for a special treat out. (Possibilities) the smell coming out or the smokers was reality inviting. Smoked (bbq) something will be in our next visit. home made ice creams looked spectacular. Asking the staff what's good? When I arrived, there was just one family ahead of me in line. Not a crowd by any means but I still waited about 10 minutes just to order. The sweetest teen ran the register but he was going all around, he was clearly overwhelmed and we all waited patiently for him. He was a one-man show, sweet and on top of his game. Props to him. While a line formed behind me, another staff member came by, asked if we'd been helped. "Not yet." But bro just... walked away. No follow-up, no action. We all kind of exchanged that "Umm...ok?" look. It really set the tone for my experience. They were out of popular menu items -- which I only found out as I was trying to order. I decided on a Polish dog. The kid asked what toppings I wanted but since they're not listed anywhere he rattled them off like an auctioneer. Not knowing what to say I said, "Whatever's on the menu photo." The ice cream flavors weren't listed anywhere either btw. But the kid knew them! Then came the wait. I sat on the patio and watched people come and go while my daughter played on the bouncy house. I knew I was in trouble when a group of young men walked in about 30 mins after I ordered and left before I received my food. My Polish dog arrived after **45 MINUTES**. I kinda hope they forgot about me bc how can they explain that otherwise? The Polish dog looked nothing like what was on the menu photo. Pretty sure I was catfished! Not even sure it wasn't just their hot dog. No diced onion, tomato, cheese on a poppyseed bun. Instead I got a basic white hot dog bun, rough chopped onion big enough to startle a horse and cherry tomatoes cut in half. Toppings were bigger than my thumb. Presentation was a mess and it was hard to eat without it falling apart. My bun was soggy that it had no structural integrity anymore. While I was eating , my daughter was served a kid's scoop of ice cream by the sweet kid that talked like he was running for mayor-- and it was a totally fair size. I went back for my own small scoop, and this time the guy from earlier served it. It was literally the same size as the kid's scoop, but cost more. When I asked why, his response was "Yeah, they basically make them the same size scoops anyway." So why charge more? I think I would've felt better if he just said it costs more 'cause life ain't fair and neither is this creamery. Also -- they had a bouncy house, which is fun in theory, but they made me sign a "waiver"... except they were out of waivers, so they just had me write my name on a piece of blank paper. Ain't no way that would hold up in court, or even a PTA meeting. Bottom line: I wanted to love this place. I thought I'd be in and out like a ninja with a sweet tooth but the disorganization, lack of clarity, and long wait times were just too much for a simple Sunday afternoon in a quiet vacation town. We found this place on Yelp and are so glad we gave it a try! We ordered two pizzas and the brownies for dessert. The only regret? Not adding ice cream to the brownies--lesson learned for next time! Our new favorite spot in Twain Harte! We got three pizzas, the apple salad and the cheesy garlic bread--ALL DELICIOUS!!! We could not get over how good the dough is. It was so obviously freshly made and so was the bbq sauce, ranch, and pizza sauce. Just the food alone earned this place five stars but it has so much more to offer. This place is great for the whole family! There were games for the kids to play and the area is entirely fenced in so I felt safe relaxing and enjoying myself while they played. Must have been an off day for us but we had a pepperoni sourdough pizza and it was just meh. The crust/dough was not good. She was working alone I think and turning out phone orders as well as walk ins but we could not even finish our slice ( my family of four) each tried one. The ice cream was good though and the fun family activities out front were a nice touch so our kids could play while we waited. Don't expect fast food here. Stopped by this charming place after hitting the slopes and was super hungry. We ordered a tri tip sandwich and small sourdough pepperoni pizza. Sandwich comes with a side (I ordered chili) and soda/water. Tri trip was nice, smoky, and with bbq sauce that had a nice kick to it, all on a nice and buttered french roll. The pizza was the highlight because it was made with sourdough and large pepperonis. Staff were super nice and attentive. There's a couch lounge area that was decorated for Valentine's day, which I thought added a nice touch to the place. Will stop by here again whenever I'm nearby. read more
